Nathaniel Roule, Nobilis of Stars

Nathan was born and raised in Middletown, Connecticut, but left the
state for university and hasn't lived there since, although his only
remaining relative is still there. After graduation he worked a
succession of odd jobs before ending up as an low-level coordinator
in the city government, but his interest was always more directed
towards his hobby, the study of historical alchemy and other fledgling
sciences.

Nathan is likely to view his ascension as a call to rise above what he
did before, perhaps even as a spiritual purification like that sought
by those who sought the philosopher's stone. Because he is unable to
be hurt, he must take more risks to protect those who can be hurt;
because he has reached new standards of skill he must set an example
to encourage others; because of his domain he must lead the way to the
stars. And yet, to be too blatant risks intimidating people instead of
encouraging them, and being too protective risks making them too weak
to stand on their own. There is base metal in everyone, and true
silver -- the task is to strip away the dross and let the silver shine.
