Shanks Wilson is a one-eyed pirate with a hook for his left hand. He's a skillful captain and navigator, and people still talk about the time when, pursued by six ships, he lured two onto the shoals, holed another two with his cannons, and slew the captains of the last two single-handedly (literally) with his cutlass. Wilson seems to be seeking something, nobody knows what, though a few times when in his cups he's been heard to mention "The Eye of the Sea" and a missing (or dead) wife.
