Turn 3
Previous turn: Turn 2
House Actions
- Shipping: We load Reig and 1 unit of Fancy Crystals into the cargo ship and send it through the wormhole.
- Fighting: [None]
- Exploration: Our new airbuggies explore M11 and N11. Rick explores hex P12.
- Production: We produce 2 units of Unsorted Crystals from our Large crystal farm.
- Processing: We process 3 units of Unsorted Crystals into 1 unit of Fancy Crystals.
- Research: Jude leads the introductory research into using the otherwise apparently worthless semi-psychically-active crystals as substitutes for the handlers for binary birds to bond with, with the intention of increasing their utility to the exploration teams. Institute sensor equipment detects the existence of a small extra-temporal bubble, but Jude dismisses it as inconsequential.
- Building: Two teams of engineers install some additional equipment, apparently under directives from Jude.
- Landing: The cargo ship arrives at the Empire and unloads Reig and 1 unit of Fancy Crystals.
- Trading: We sell 1 unit of Fancy Crystals for 4 Mc on the Imperial exchange.
- Politics: The captain of the StarFar Reigspress puts up a sign in front of the ship saying 'Colonists welcome! Inquire within!' Meanwhile, Reig tracks down a Grazene representative to find out what's up with their voting proposal. Emperor Judard Reig Starlight XXVIII, from an undisclosed turn in the future, retroactively bans time travel to or from any point in the "Dual Period" (roughly the first 1300 turns of the game).
Character Actions
- If no ruins or similar artifacts are discovered by exploration, Jude contributes to the binary birds research. If something interesting is discovered, Jude will follow up on that instead, leaving the research facility to their own expert devices.
- Rick launches himself via rocket catapult from the top of the large dome atop the colony capitol building, via a parabolic trajectory into the center of hex P12 (rank 3), whence he will explore his way back home.
- Reig recovers this turn, spending a lot of time sleeping in a ball (literally) on the ship as it travels to the Empire.

House Aramin's industrial base is beginning to get into gear, as they produce, process, and sell some crystals, for a net change of -1 unit of Unsorted Crystals, and +4 mega-credits.
Their exploration is equally productive: unusually-colored vegetation leads the airbuggies to a small vein of Metals in M11 (a rank-1 source), and in N11, they capture a pair of binary birds with unusually wide telepathic range. Rick, meanwhile, discovers a small but fertile plot of crystal-producing vines in P12, with arrangements of the plants suggesting prior tending, though it's currently quite overgrown (a rank-2 source) (and this can have a mine built as usual, since it is now connected to the colony).
Jude's assistance, combined with the discovery of the exploration team, enables the research team to complete their work in record time, though the outcome is not exactly as planned. Early in their work, they become sidetracked with an unusual sort of crystal, and eventually come up with plans for a device to combine paired crystals of a certain rare specialty with the bird's communication to enable objects to be physically transported in the same way the song is (the proposed device costs 5 mega-credits or 1 mega-credit and one unit of Fancy Crystals to build).
Finally, back at the Empire, Aramin begins advertising for colonists, though it'll be next turn before any start to arrive.
