Colony

  • Dark: Mentioned on the House Advantage page: Paranoid about security and not trusting human guards, the Venafi Emperor commissioned automated defence platforms on the three moons of Hrobaj. It's not clear whether they were ever brought online, and certainly they were never designed to operate for more than a hundred years or so. But there might be something there to salvage. Given the statue-skyscraper thing seems to be an ancient defense system of some sort, Dark checks out the moons of Hrobaj. He finds the most intact-looking one and drops by in person with New Drones for security, looking for controls or at least information on the Hrobaj defense systems, especially regarding the Death Statue.

  • Tesher: This clearly must be related somehow to the ancient war machine that someone was working on at the end of the last story or something! So Tesher figures out how, and what significance that connection will have on our current on-going plot threads.
  • Seve: with an entourage currently consisting of vice-emperor candidate Rexx, camera crew The Arabian Knights, and military squad The Foreign Legion (currently being trained as a backup polo team), Seve gets in touch with the MQaiaan leaders, especially anyone he may have vague memories of from that party. He offers publicity and support in their dispute with Gwyne (maybe including military action next turn, what the hell, it'll be good Tri-V), and also tries to recruit some tough and sexy freedom fighters for GALAXY UNITED.

Imperial Core

  • Reig: Knocks around the imperial core worlds, and meets up with the sous-chef who was almost the Oracle to discover that odd psychic activities have been going on in the empire for almost two years.
  • Silentus: Leaks a little information (not a lot, just an experiment to tweak the battle a little) on Reeft's tactical layout to Gwyne (in exchange for money) to keep the balance of power in check. [Given Reeft and Gwyne's opposition seems to be the only thing making this Dune rather than Star Wars, it seems best to not have only one dominating evil empire.]
  • (NPC) Basinbloke: PARTYTIME!

Here are his goals: 1.) To enjoy the party. This is Basinbloke, after all. And he takes his wine tasting seriously. 2.) To improve the Influence of the colonies. 3.) Given many Houses in one convienent location, to be able to simultaneously feel out all of them and figure out a.) which are supporting the bill from Turn 20 b.) which will support given the appropriate rider and c.) which will Just Say No. 4.) Given those inclined to parties would have been at the Space Baby Party, inquire about if anyone has further info along the lines of: Did anyone else recognize Frost? Did anyone else have a baby encounter?

Excitement elsewhere!

On the colony worlds, business goes on as usual, with the usual producing and processing and building. The Lewison Clarks finish exploring the Anonymous Region, discovering yet another source for hyperidot. Raphael explores the new Storm Region, discovering both Chemicals and Kelp.

On Hrobaj, Rick and Dark and Jude confront the giant angry statue, each in their own way. One of the other ships attempts to land, but the statue sends out a laser blast from its eyes, and the ship veers off, rather than testing the statue's offense further.

On MQaiaa, Seve has an exciting adventure! Tesher cogitates.

In the Core, Basingbloke's party goes off without a hitch: toasts are drunk to the colony worlds, backs are slapped, food is eaten off little sticks, and at the height of the party the Reeft ambassador announces that she has received a dispatch that the Gwyne fleet is in full retreat. "And you know what that means," she says, elbowing Basingbloke in the ribs. "Loot for all of our supporters!" Oh, and megacredits are spent and Influence is accrued. [Mega-credits are also belatedly sent as a courtesy to the oracle of three million eyes, and some other Influence and Fame shows up there.]
