[LowEstate]|18:47 inky says, "if you feel like it's part of the curriculum but not a particular area of focus of his, then it seems like we should do an academics roll to see how many questions you can ask about it"

[LowEstate]|18:47 Jota says, "As for the first part of the question, I would say that whether or not it was part of his training specifically, it seems like it would be something you would pick up on naturally just being around a lot of magic happening."

[LowEstate]|18:48 Jota says, "So (again, for part one) it is probably not something that Willem has probably had specific training, but rather something that he theoretically should be expected to have picked up anyway."

[LowEstate]|18:49 Jota says, "But given the idea of it possibly being a thing you just sort of pick up by being around it, it seems plausible that his Community (Academics) might be a plausible measure of how well he's picked it up."

the study

How detailed is this ruler-like thing? Could Aernoud find some paper and quickly trace the runes and markings in a minute or two? I'm picturing something with maybe a dozen or so major markings and fairly simple runes, vs. something with dozens of tiny detailed symbols or the like.
