The group explored the surrounding area a bit, traveling down one 'spoke' for a few miles, but not finding a portal within those miles as they had hoped. Then, after trying to figure out how to avoid the Red Room and instead go straight to the Fiery Hall, the group eventually decided that to get to the Fiery Hall, they'd first need to go to the Red Room. So, in they went!

They ended up in a room with red velvet curtains, a floating mirror, and a statue of a dwarf. After hugging the dwarf, going through the curtains revealed new rooms; a different room for each person. Through the rooms were:

  • A mosaic floor tile pattern of a beggar, with a particular route one needed to follow to get through safely.
  • A fire of bones, which Indigo adapted to, making him resistant to madness
  • A room with a lanky creature beckoning Hark, who didn't follow.
  • A room with floating, translucent individuals, who started towards Aescher, before she closed the curtain on them again.
  • A room with a floating mirror and a statue of a giant, the latter of which Garnet tipped over, hopefully putting it 'to rest'.
  • A room with a bird-headed creature who silently invited Zahra to a game of mirroring, culminating with both of them floating above the ground, the bird-creature's arms cut, Zahra having drunk his blood, and getting flashes of memories of different rooms, including the ones the group having already visited, plus a room with a pile of gold coins, a room with ridged circles on the floor, a room with a laboratory-like setup, and a room with a solitary figure, huddled in a blanket. As Aescher watched, she saw Zahra twitching violently.
