Free citizens of Arroyo, unite! In the month or so since the chains of the oppressor have been thrown off, you have been mostly concerned with working out a transitional government and ensuring that the Astro-Polo training has not been disrupted. Making the change from being under the thumb of the government to running it has been a little rough, and one particular weak spot has been not knowing much of the terrain outside the hyperidot mines. Still, by putting together what little exploration you've done and the avestruz knowledge of the surroundings, you've managed to assemble a map of the land nearby the colony (the colony is located at hex J13 on the map included in the game feelies).

Taking stock of the situation, your colony's assets are as follows:

  • The main colony, located at hex J13
    • You have also explored hexes J12, J14, and K14
  • A hyperidot mine (ie, a mine which produces Warp Crystals) in hex K14
  • A basic cargo ship
  • A novice-level explorer unit, located at hex J13
  • A novice-level military unit, located at hex J13
  • 10 mega-credits in the colony treasury (what your House was able to impound in liquid capital from House Gwyne's local assets)

You are just getting yourself settled when two important messages arrive for the House leadership. The first is from the Imperial Senate, and reads as follows "In recognition of the Empire's glorious generosity in awarding the new colony planet to House Intrepid despite a certain amount of irregularity in the circumstances by which it has transitioned ownership in order to promote the wealth and welfare of [...etc, etc...] in order to demonstrate that they are able to fully utilize the planet they have been awarded and in recognition of the aforementioned generosity, House Intrepid is directed to pay a tax of 30 mega-credits, to be paid 24 weeks from receipt of this message." The second is much shorter, from a long-range scouting group: "Reports have been made of a local avestruz tribe, located in L14 and gathering forces to come to the main colony with hostile intent. Please advise."

Time to take action! Decide what you'd like your House and characters to do, and fill in the actions on your turn 1 page. If you have questions, see the instructions page.
