(Provisional) Jathries rides the cargo ship to the Imperial core, and takes the opportunity to investigate the Archives for conditions similar to that affecting the Geoleverage Taskforce.
Results
Advantage produces some goods, and ships and sells others, for a net gain of 5 mega-credits and -1 Food. The Cadet Scouts explore the edges of the high-rad forest in H12, and come upon a massive natural vegetable patch, looking green and plump from the delicious radiation (a rank-3 source for Food).
The Tomorrow Institute finishes its research, coming up with 1) rather dashing-looking House uniforms, suitable for the ball, the nightclub, or the astro-polo court and 2) sleek aquatic-movement combat uniforms, allowing military units to travel without movement cost through explored water hexes. Katlian College also finishes its research, producing a plan to seed corn monsters in otherwise-unoccupied prairie hexes in a process which takes two turns and 3 mega-credits, and produces a rank-3 military unit (which, however, is anchored to the hex in which it is created).
Elaine examines the big metal thing (which turns out to actually be in M13, not in the river after all). It appears to be a harmonic rebroadcaster, designed to receive signals and then echo them back into space, tapping the energy of the thorium vein to greatly amplify the power of the signal.
Jathries searches the archives and finds a number of similar reports on other planets, not a common occurrence but not unknown either.
