Turn 4

House Actions

Shipping:

Exploration: the First Hrobaj Cadet Scouts move from J11, skipping J10, to explore J9. The Geoleverage Assessment Taskforce explore J15. Scorning the warnings of the nearby tribes, Elaine straps on her ruggedest antigrav-gaiters and explores the forest at I12.

Production: food plant at J13 produces 1 unit of Algal Sludge. The corn maze produces 1 unit of Savage Corn.

Processing: none.

Research: the Tomorrow Institute starts new research, intended to seed a rumour among influential galactics that the colony tax will mostly be funneled to House Gwyne.

Building: the aquaculture factory at J13 is upgraded to Large. This costs 7 Mc.

Landing: None.

Trade: Advantage broadcasts a glossy commercial extolling the benefits of its Food exports, hoping to inflate the price next turn. (A chorus of Venafi concubines sing a catchy jingle, mutate into mermaids, and are adbucted and eaten by a monster made of corn. A well-oiled nutritionist slays the monster, possibly through the power of song, and then delivers a thumbs-up and a raised eyebrow while swimming in a fish-slurry vat.)

Character Actions

Elaine explores the mysterious facility at I12.

Jathries works on politicking with House Grazene.

Results

Aqua-food and corn are successfully produced, and the aquaculture producer is expanded in size. The research facility researches.

The Hrobaj Cadet Scouts explore J9 and find it mostly devoid of interest, except for signs that some sort of structure was hastily disassembled in the last few months, leaving only a concrete base, a few struts and girders, and some wiring.

The Geoleverage Assessment Taskforce explores J15 and finds nothing of particular interest, but the work does give them a sufficient breadth of knowledge to raise their rank to 3.

Elaine looks into I12 and discovers that, as promised, it contains both a ruined explorer's academy built by House Gwyne and a group of natives living in the forest surrounding it and resentful of strangers. Unfortunately, the latter precludes looking more into the former.

Meanwhile, back at the Empire, demand is rising for Hrobaj commodities, but with none to buy, it's hard for it to achieve much momentum.
