Character Actions

Elaine dives around the submerged stone dome at K13, sifting the sea-bed around its base and trying to find an entrance. Failing that, she takes recordings of as many of the carvings as possible.

Jathries meets with the faculty of the Tomorrow Institute, bringing with him a daring proposal for Comsowinkle, a mixture of black and periwinkle that cannot be properly seen by the human eye. His initial jingle goes something like: "Cosmowinkle! Cosmowinkle! Stare deeply enough and see it twinkle!" This clearly needs further refinement.

Results

Food is produced, shipped, and sold, for a net gain of 1 unit of Savage Corn and 3 mega-credits (demand is still artificially inflated for Hrobaj's food by the jingle on everyone's lips).

The Cadet Scouts explore I9 and stumble upon a native tribe who invites them to a ritual meal where the food is not very good and it takes forever to get through all the courses. The conversation is witty, though.

The Geoleverage Taskforce explores L12 and M12. L12 turns out to contain the remains of a Gwyne aquaculture operation (a rank-1 source, which could have a rank-1 Food producer built on it for half the usual price). On reaching shore in M12, the Taskforce discovers knowledgeable natives who pass on information about the surrounding hexes: M11 and N12 are both considered taboo areas as people who go there tend not to return, while N11 is the location of a place where silvery rocks are found close to the surface.

The research institutes begin research, with Jathries' more-or-less able assistance.

Elaine does some digging and examinations and determines the dome is the top part of an enormous stone head buried in the river, 50 meters high.
