Agents Of Empire/Turns/Introduction/House Advantage
Welcome to scenic Hrobaj! The transition from Gwyne's control to yours has been somewhat bumpy over the past month, though this has been as much due to your own House's organizational confusion as to Gwyne's unwillingness to make the handover easy. Nevertheless, you've managed to establish yourself on the colony site and take a survey of the surrounding area (the colony is located at hex I14 on the map included in the game feelies).
Taking stock of the situation, your colony's assets are as follows:
- The main colony, Tomorrow, located at hex I14
- You have also explored hexes H14, J13, and J14
- An aquaculture harvesting operation (ie, a mine which produces Food) in hex J13 [currently non-operational, see below]
- A basic cargo ship
- A novice-level explorer unit, located at hex I14
- A basic research institution in the main colony: the Tomorrow Institute of Lobbying, Marketing and Propaganda.
- 10 mega-credits in the colony treasury (what your House was able to scrounge up in liquid capital)
You are just getting yourself settled when two important messages arrive for the House leadership. The first is from the Imperial Senate, and reads as follows "In recognition of the Empire's glorious generosity in awarding the new colony planet to House Advantage in order to promote the wealth and welfare of [...etc, etc...] so that the majesty of the Empire shall not soon dim and yet nevertheless shine ever onwards [...etc, etc...] in order to demonstrate that they are able to fully utilize the planet they have been awarded and in recognition of the aforementioned generosity, House Advantage is directed to pay a tax of 30 mega-credits, to be paid 24 weeks from receipt of this message." The second is much shorter, and is a brief 'gram from the aquaculture harvesting operation: "Yields over the past week have dropped to ten percent of original numbers, and are continuing to decline steadily. Please advise."
Time to take action! Decide what you'd like your House and characters to do, and fill in the actions on your turn 1 page. If you have questions, see the instructions page.
