Turn 10 - House Aramin

House Actions

  • Shipping: The StarFar Reigspress picks up 1 unit of Ndoggahyde and 3 units of Energy Weapons and departs for the Core. A group of engineers, scientists and technicians from the Farlight Institute who've scribbled their names on the astro-polo sign-up sheet in the break room climb aboard as well. Hau Ndogg Community College's varsity astro-polo team boards as well. The VefnaShip is now free to return home, with our gratitude. We agree to retrieve the Metals in L13 for free if the homesteaders agree to sell us both units for 1Mc total.
  • Fighting: The Reiglight Revenge patrols from orbit, ready to swoop in anywhere on the planet the moment there is a disturbance.
  • Exploration: The StarLight Survey Squad surveys hexes J8 and I8. Jude checks out the monitoring station in M10. One group of homesteaders begins exploring M13, and another group begins exploring L14.
  • Production: We produce 2 units of Unsorted Crystals from the Donbique Rule Crystal Farm in L10. We produce 1 unit of Metals from the Alshu Cup mine in N11. We produce 2 unit of Unsorted Crystals from the Starfarer Crystal Mega-Garden And Wilderness Preserve in P12. We produce 1 unit of Food from the Bloos Wade Juice plant in K11. The Clampet Clan produces 1 unit of Unsorted Crystals (which they give to us as a loan payment).
  • Processing: We process 2 units of Unsorted Crystals and 1 unit of Food (in the form of Indecent Squid) into 1 unit of Squidduplicators (a rank-2 refined commodity). We process 2 units of Unsorted Crystals and 1 unit of Metal into 1 unit of Energy Weapons (a rank-2 refined commodity).
  • Research: The Farlight Institute continues its research from last turn. The Secret Advanced Physics Laboratory will research whatever receives the most votes.
  • Building: [None]
  • Landing: The StarFar Reigspress arrives at the Core and unloads its cargo. The astro-polo "team" from the Farlight Institute is dropped off at Vegas. They're now all wearing t-shirts that say "The Recessive Lethals". The college team also disembarks and immediately heads out to partake of the Vegas nightlife.
  • Trading: We sell 1 unit of Ndoggahyde and 1 unit of Energy Weapons to Topni, then 2 units of Energy Weapons on the general Market, for a total of 23Mc. We pay off our 1Mc IOU for House Prime.
  • Politics: Rick plays detective for the League of Champions by keeping an eye on House Vegas. The Recessive Lethals play one or more astro-polo qualifying matches.

Character Actions

  • Jude Farlight: Jude either checks out the monitoring station (> GET COMPUTER. GET DATA FROM IT) or assists with research if Rick would be a better choice for the monitoring station work (> GET COMPUTER. THROW COMPUTER AGAINST GROUND. GET DATA FROM WRECKAGE). vimes says, "alrightie, >GET DATA FROM COMPUTER it is, then"
  • Rick Starfarer: Rick secures Hau Ndogg Community College's position in the League of Champions grand finals by doing 3Mc's worth of investigation work, watching House Vegas and making sure they don't do anything shady that might undermine the honor of the noble sport of astro-polo.
  • Reig: Reig sets his fur to blue plaid that stays stationary with respect to the background, and waves his arms around a lot in an attempt to sell our 20Mc worth of goods at a better price. He blows the remains of his fate points on this, too, which is (I think) two of them. If he can set things up so that our next several shipments of Stuff are sold at the same inflated price, so much the better. The stuff we're looking to sell in the near future are:
    • Turn 10: 1 unit of Ndoggahyde and 3 units of Energy Weapons
    • Turn 11: 1 unit of Energy Weapons
    • Turn 12: 1 unit of Superconductive Crystal Cryptography Circuits, 1 unit of SAVAGE CORN 3D! and 1 unit of Flame Jewels
    • Turn 13: 2 units of Warp Manifolds and 1 unit of Kookie Krysp
    • Turn 14: 2 units of Warp Manifolds, 1 unit of Kookie Krysp and 1 unit of Squidduplicators
    • Turn 15: 1 unit of Warp Manifolds, 1 unit of Magic Meals and 1 unit of Bachelor Chow

Results

House Aramin produces, processes, ships, and sells, with the able and cerulean assistance of Reig. The homesteaders are assisted in transporting their cache of Metals back to base and handed a mega-credit for it. House Prime is paid a mega-credit.

The StarLight Survey Squad surveys hexes J8 and I8, discovering (bad) a Gwyne booby-trap that explodes in their faces, injuring them, and then (good) a small exploitable vein of Metals (source-1).

The Farlight Institute completes its research. They haven't made much progress on more efficient processing of goods, but they do have a methodology for more efficient collection of raw materials when stashes are found in the wild, allowing for an extra unit to be collected each time. They also complete their investigation into the moss code-named Charlie. Laria's SAPL continues its research, focusing on binary birds, teleportation, and their relation to wormholes.

Jude works on decrypting the recovered data, and comes up with some interesting fragments.
