Turn 16

< Turn 15 | Turn 17 >

House Actions

House Actions

  • Shipping:
    • The Mighty Mammoth loads up with 2 units of Frost Jewels, 1 units of Kookie Krysp, the Foreign Legion and a Pre-Fabricated Squiddio-lectric Sub-Space Transmission Tower and departs for Arroyo, taking advantage of Jude's interference network (for probably the last time).
    • The Space Whale also takes advantage of the space battle going on over Arroyo to sneak out and head toward Vefna, bearing the Starlight Survey Squad and KANE.
  • Fighting:
    • The reprogrammed Gwyne chemical drones keep up with the spying.
    • The Irregulars keep up their station at the Island and take out the rank-1 enemy.
    • Thunderchild, the Yowlin' Yoshis and the Fightin' Fighters defend the Seveyard.
    • BIGGISH SPACE BATTLE FOR ARROYO
      • The Pteranodon and Velociraptor team up against the rank-3 battleship, hopefully obliterating it.
      • The Reiglight Revenge (led by Rick, spending a fate point for an extra +1 to rank) attacks the rank-2 cruiser, hopefully obliterating it.
      • The Gwyne ships probably use similarly clever maneuvers to attack us (my guess is that the battleship destroys Pteranodon, the cruiser and a scout together destroy Velociraptor, and the other scout attacks the Reiglight Revenge (mistaking it for a normal rank-1 fighter and doing no damage)).
  • Exploration:
    • Raphael Helsing and his Reef Riders go into hiding.
    • The Lewison Clarks continue their exploration of the Cavernous Region (making it 6/18 of the way to Explored-III).
  • Industry:
    • Bonanza Region: Produces 6 units of Hyperidot.
    • Island Region: Produces nothing (because they are fully evacuated).
    • Ocean Region: Produces nothing (because they are fully evacuated).
    • Pleistocene Region: Produces 3 units of Mammoth Byproducts (Food: 1).
    • Bloos Wade Region: Produces 1 unit of Unsorted Crystals (with homesteader help) and 3 units of Food.
    • Alshu Cup Region: Produces 3 units of Unsorted Crystals.
    • Hau Ndogg Region:
      • The Riju Tri-Lateral Industrial Complex processes 1 unit of Unsorted Crystals, 1 unit of Metal and 1 unit of Frozen Gas into 1 unit of Dalekanium (a rank-3 refined good).
      • The Riju Tri-Lateral Industrial Complex processes 2 units of Unsorted Crystals, 2 units of Industrial Kelp and 2 units of Frozen Gas into 2 units of Plunger-Based Weaponry (a rank-3 refined good).
  • Research:
    • The Farlight Institute of Crystal Biotechnology continues researching.
    • The Hau Ndogg Community College astro-polo stadium (and secret underground advanced physics laboratory) continues researching.
    • The Boumfadour Institue for Ecology and Planetary Development continues researching.
    • The Boumfadour Institue for History and Archaeology starts researching the city-sub thing they are housed in.
  • Building:
    • Jude uses 2 units of Plunger-Based Weaponry, 2 units of Dalekanium and 4 Mc to produce four rank-2 ground units (Dalek Red, Dalek Blue, Dalek Green and Dalek Yellow) (normally 7 Mc each, reduced to 5 Mc each with Jude's Good Engineering).
  • Landing:
    • The Mighty Mammoth arrives at Arroyo and takes advantage of the ruckus going on to land (hopefully) unmolested; it dispenses all of its cargo.
    • The Space Whale arrives at Vefna. The Starlight Survey Squad and KANE disembark.
  • Trading:
    • Elvis' Hau Ndogg Region, Bloos Wade Region and Alshu Cup Region each consume 1 unit of Food.
    • Boumfadour's Island Region and Ocean Region each go hungry (but there's no one there anyway).
    • Arroyo's Cavernous Region consumes 1/4 unit of Kookie Krysp.
  • Politics:
    • Laria activates the transmission towers at the Hau Ndogg Community College astro-polo stadium (and secret underground advanced physics laboratory).
    • Bram activates the Pre-Fabricated Squiddio-lectric Sub-Space Transmission Tower on Arroyo.
    • Kyil activates the transmission towers on Vefna that Gwyne was using to manipulate the wormhole before.
    • We send a distress signal to the Imperial Core, describing the situation and requesting assistance.

Character Actions

Colony

  • Dark: Works behind the scenes to plan giving the Drones a +1 combat boost next turn.
  • Jude: Builds daleks.
  • Rick: You know, there's a crystal tower that no man has set foot in for millennia. And there's still that underwater building he hasn't gotten around to visiting. What I am trying to say is: "I Don't Have Time For This; I Have Important Exploring To Do! " (Spending a fate point to make the Reiglight Revenge even more awesome this turn.)
  • Kyil: While he's waiting around the tower, decides that taking over a wormhole is a pretty sabotage-y thing to do, and sees if he can figure out just what sort of nefarious activities Gwynne planned to do with it, or, barring that, what sorts of damage *he* can do with it. (This is, I dunno, Research? An adventure?)

Imperial Core

  • Reig: Travels to Iavo, finds his investigation efforts stymied; modulates his neurochemistry to be able to perform Lucid Dreaming
  • Seve:
  • Silentus:
  • Tesher: Reads up on combat tactics for use against multiple enemies and pre-programs some of the more applicable maneuvers into into Old Betsy's navigation computer. (Preparation for Old Betsy.)
  • (NPC) Basinbloke:

It's clobbering time!

On Vefna, there are of course no enemy troops, so things happen as usual and the colonists, having cleaned up the colony, begin to produce resources.

On Elvis, the enemy ground units recuperate from their wounds and prepare to move next turn. Since the other regions are still in friendly hands, they produce, build, and research as usual (including producing some advanced resources and using those to produce daleks; also, the SAPL gets no research done because it's busy with transmitting to the wormhole). The Mighty Mammoth takes off, using up Elvis's interference network to make it through the cordon, and heading for Arroyo.

On Boumfadour, the enemy ground units spread out: a rank-3 and rank-1 unit moves to each of the Ocean and Whirlpool region (and a rank-1 unit also moves to Whirlpool), taking them over. The rank-2 and other two rank-1 units (one of which is a double agent for the resistance) remain behind in the Island region to search the area. Taking advantage of the movement, the Prime Irregulars ambush the non-double-agent rank-1 unit, taking losses but making it back into hiding before they can be spotted.

On Arroyo, all sorts of exciting things happen. The Pteranodon and Velociraptor fly up from their heretofore-unnoticed shipyard, teaming up to destroy the Gwyne battleship in orbit. Rick executes some daring feats of pilotry and missling in the Reiglight Revenge, taking out the cruiser single-handedly. Not going down harmlessly, the Gwyne ships destroy the Pteranodon (with the battleship) and the Velociraptor (the cruiser and scout).

The other scout flies towards the shipyard where it is met by Thunderchild. The two rank-3 ground units move into the Cavernous Region, where they are met by the Fightin' Fighters and Yowlin' Yoshis. Thunderchild ignores the fire of the scout long enough to swoop down and destroy one of the ground units (but is injured itself by the scout), while the Fightin' Fighters and Yowlin' Yoshis team up against other ground unit. Tragically, the Yowlin' Yoshis perish in the process, but survive long enough for the Fightin' Fighters to inflict the finishing blow on the enemy.

In the confusion, the Mighty Mammoth lands on Arroyo and the Space Whale takes off, landing on Vefna.

Finally, Laria, Bram, and Kyil activate their respective transmission towers, sending out carefully-modulated pulses of energy designed to intersect at the area of space where the former wormhole used to reside. The stars seem to shimmer, as if being crushed in an enormous fist. Clearly, something is happening, but what it will be will only be determined next turn.

Dark plans. Rick fights. Jude builds. Kyil bleeps.
