  • The Boumfadour Institute for Ecology and Planetary Development finishes researching terraforming.
  • The Boumfadour Institute for History and Archaeology continues researching Hrobaj and Veritas.
  • The Tomorrow Institute of Lobbying, Marketing and Propaganda finishes researching how to boost Seve's campaign to be Emperor.
  • Katlian College of Violent Arts and Sciences finishes researching how to make our warships more profitable when sold.

Building

  • Vefna uses the Terraformer and 10Mc to upgrade the Mesozoic Region to Factory I (Useful Devices: Advanced Physics): the Christopher Cavor Contraption Constructory.
  • The Christopher Cavor Contraption Constructory uses 1 unit of Secrets of the Ancients to build a Teleporation Sending Station (the "Fairy Circle").
  • The Seve Ballesteros Memorial Shipyard uses 1 unit of Starship Figureheads to construct the Magellanic Maiden (a rank-2 military space unit).

Politics

  • Probably something or other?

Character Actions

  • Tesher: Tesher meets with Nitf@x at the cafe (but not before doing a bit of prep work: checking out who owns the cafe, if there's been any potentially relevant construction/modification work done on it in the past, if there are any interesting discrepancies in its paperwork, etc.).
  • Seve:
  • Reig: sits with somebody good at data/science stuff and works with them to figure out what's on the data crystal he procured from the Three Star Warehouse.
  • Silentus: Plans for a grand infiltration of Iavo.
  • (NPC) Basinbloke: Gets the dirt on all the various emperorship candidates and what can be done to ensure they lose.

Results

As the game resumes on turn 25, things are pretty normal on the colony worlds: more shipping, more producing, and more constructing.

The Farlight Institute finishes its work developing a cure for ORPitis, and starts passing it around; it's expensive to create the serum, but the recipients can presumably afford it. The gesture is certainly appreciated -- the colonies gain +3 Influence.

The Boumfadour Institute for Ecology finishes their work on terraforming, discovering some broader applications of terraforming.

Katlian College completes its work on military economics, determining that warships are being made about as cost-effectively as they can be at the moment, which suggests the best way to increase profits is to increase demand and then increase supply to meet that demand. Their analysis includes a number of star systems where demand for warships could likely be increased.

The Tomorrow Institute similarly finishes its analysis on a complete marketing campaign for Seve, the prototypes for which already give Seve and the colony worlds +3 Fame. The Institute thinks it likely that further marketing would be best directed at a particular opponent to highlight the differences between them and Seve, but it's not clear which opponent that should be.

Rick completes an initial study of the plant in the tower: it appears to be a highly-modified version of another kind of local flora which is extremely responsive to sunlight; this seems both enlarged but also mutated to react to other sorts of radiation, and the apparatus atop the tower is apparently designed to help direct that radiation onto the plant.
