Planescape: Fallout/The story so far/Session two
After checking with Garnet’s contacts in the force, the group got a location for the current headquarters of the Crimson Hawks, at a location in the Bricks. Going there, they discovered a cache of information left by Sejik in an alley—a note saying that he had been kidnapped by a faction in the Crimson Hawks lead by a ‘Luna Crawhawk’ who was trying to use the information the group had hidden away to open the portal out of Web to set herself up as the middleman for a new source of trade—particularly illegal trade. Luna Crawhawk was of course a name familiar to Indigo and Garnet: she was the criminal who had left Indigo for dead on one of the remote islands of Web!
Scouting around the area, the group discovered the site of a significant firefight, which turned out to include fire mages on the defending traditional side, and air mages on Luna’s side. Luna’s side was driven off, and there seemed to be a sort of field hospital nearby where the wounded were being treated. As it turned out, Sejik had managed to escape his captors, but got himself injured in the process, and was indeed being held in the hospital along with some of the other people from Luna’s side who were being held as prisoners.
With some distraction in the front from Hark, the rest of the party managed to slip in a back window where Hark had sniffed out a Shad (hopefully Sejik) and Zahra and Aescher obtained some doctor outfits, which they used to bluff their way into the injured-prisoner holding area. Inside was the wounded lieutenant of Luna and her second-in-command for the last two years, lying unconscious with a concussion. Aescher managed to use her temple training to completely heal the concussion, startling the doctor on the scene, who immediately left to go tell someone about it. While she was gone, the other two managed to find and heal Sejik who was in the next room, and drugged and questioned the poor lieutenant who told them several tidbits:
- The next time the portal would be openable would be tomorrow evening ‘when the monks are reciting Vespers’.
- ‘Runestones’ are the key to the portal—Luna got the ones from the city archives, because she couldn’t find the ones that were ‘forgotten’.
- The portal room is in a secret room past the laundry room, and also needs the runestones to unlock.
- Luna hoped to go to the ‘Lost Islands’ where she believed there were spellcasting reagents not present in Web to establish a trading monopoly with the rare goods.
