GameMaster says, "The statue is glowing brightly...it starts to change..."

GameMaster says, "The filth disappears, the broken nose and arm float up, the crack in the torso repairs itself"

GameMaster says, "The statue shudders..."

CharlesAlgun smiles as he watches.

GameMaster says, "The figure slowly stands up."

CharlesAlgun bows his head to the figure, as though to a respected foreign sovereign.

Metheneme asks, "Mortal man, why have you and your companions come to my temple?"

CharlesAlgun says, "We fell upon this island, and were in need of shelter."

Metheneme asks, "How did you fall upon this island?"

CharlesAlgun says, "We were taken against our will, by men whose ideniies we know not. They shackled us in a ship, and brought us far from familiar shores..."

(From GameMaster) The statue rubs her chin with her hand.

CharlesAlgun says, "A storm arose. It wrecked the ship on your shore. We know not what fate our captors found. We found this place, with the help of one called Keestake."

Metheneme says, "Well...you know well of the pirates, then. You also know they have defiled my sanctuary."

Metheneme says, "When men came hither three generators ago, they slew the men of this island, but let my temple be--as is proper."

Metheneme says, "Since then, my sanctuary has been subject to wind and storm, age and rot, but I was not offended, for that is nature's right--to beat down what men have raised."

Metheneme says, "But the acts of debasement you see about you have offended me. I choose to destroy this island, and all living upon it: a proper cleansing of the stain made by the pirates."

Metheneme says, "I see no reason for you to die for another's offense, however."

CharlesAlgun bows. "Thank you, my lady."

Metheneme says, "So, I will not cleanse this island this night, as I had planned, but will stay my hand another day, and lay waste to this place at nightfall tomorrow."

Metheneme says, "If you are fled by then, I will adjudge you fit to survive, and the storm which destroys this place will do no harm to your craft."

Metheneme says, "But I will destroy it at sundown...I will not wait any longer."

CharlesAlgun nods.

Metheneme asks, "Have you anything to say or ask?"

CharlesAlgun says, "I understand."

CharlesAlgun says, "I do have two questions..."

CharlesAlgun asks, "Is there any sign I can bring to my friends, so that they know I dreamed no his, in a stupor after our hardships?"

GameMaster says, "You know your companions...name a sign you think would be appropriate."

CharlesAlgun stops a moment, to think carefully.

CharlesAlgun asks, "Could you send a black bird, at exactly noon tomorrow, to meet us?"

CharlesAlgun says, "If I could tell them at dawn what would meet us at noon, they shall be able to believe what will happen at nightfall."

Metheneme says, "Yes."

Metheneme asks, "What is your other question?"

CharlesAlgun says, "There is one of our number, whose nae is Bjorg."

CharlesAlgun says, "He believes that there may be a ring -- where exactly, I do not know, bu history suggests it may be found -- a powerful ring."

CharlesAlgun asks, "Could you give me any knowledge I might bring him, to help him find this?"

GameMaster says, "No, that is not something I can interfere with."

CharlesAlgun nods, "I understand."

CharlesAlgun says, "Thank you. You have been most generous to us, who have lile if anything o offer you, aside from our gratitude."

GameMaster says, "But still cleaned"
