Insert bits about how we found a chest, brought it back across the mosaics, cleaned ou the depression (finding a place to stick the stick), figuring out how to open he chest with the stick (finding three pyramids within), fought a bigger invisiwolf (which Bjorg esploded with a colossal blow, losing half his sword in the process), explored north of the big room... and that's about where this starts, I think. Also, be aware that the whispers later are from Charles' perspective.

CharlesAlgun asks (of Federico), "So what are these blocks for?"

CharlesAlgun says, "It seems as though anything that takes that much doing to reach should be useful."

Bjorg says (to Charles), "Or dangerous. Perhaps they made it this difficult because they feared the result."

Federico says (to Charles), "Well I don't know what they are *for*, per se. I do know that their arrangement is the bulk of the information contained on the small paper."

Pyotr backs a step.

CharlesAlgun asks (of Federico), "How the are arranged, or how they should be?"

[belowground] Whizzard says, "<cue wolf growl>"

[belowground] Bjorg asks, "i guess the next one will be horse sized?"

[belowground] (from CharlesAlgun) Bjorg says, "Lemme at 'em! I'll splat 'em!"

Federico says (to Charles), "There is a series of equations corresponding to the star map. I could do it if absolutely necessary, but I also believe that it might not be the best thing to do."

[belowground] CharlesAlgun says, "I wonder if these salted rations include any peanuts..."

CharlesAlgun asks, "Interesting. Do the equations indicate places in this very room?"

Federico says, "Not at this time, at least."

Federico says, "Relative positions, yes."

[belowground] Bjorg asks, "would it be out of character for me to bring up something about Porte magic right now?"

CharlesAlgun asks, "And is your reason for concern mainly just because they are likely to involve arcane and un-sactified powers, or just because they could be dangerous?"

[belowground] CharlesAlgun asks, "How's your scholar?"

[belowground] Bjorg says, "non-existant"

[belowground] CharlesAlgun says, "Probably, then."

[belowground] Bjorg says, "i don't have the skill, although i'm moving the character that way eventually"

[belowground] CharlesAlgun says, "Unless you've had a reason to find out due to your background."

[belowground] Umberto has joined the channel.

[belowground] Bjorg says, "well, my background involves a lot of scouring places for a particular item. so, he might have some general knowledge"

Umberto says, "Hmm..."

Umberto asks, "May I see that paper you unearthed?"

CharlesAlgun says, "Mmm."

Federico gives the scrap to Umberto.

CharlesAlgun says, "Cut them off at the source? Good idea."

Umberto looks

Pyotr says, "better to take the fight to them than to cower here."

[belowground] Bjorg says, "but, no, it's out of character. so i'll just mention here that all of this seems really likely to open a portal to some other world of insanity"

[belowground] Pyotr says, "as Fed just mentioned"

[belowground] CharlesAlgun says, "Woo, insanity..."

[belowground] Whizzard exclaims, "yay insanity!"

[belowground] Bjorg says, "but i took so long to say that that i just had the worst timing of the evening"

[belowground] Bjorg says, "heh"

[belowground] Bjorg gets an ice cream sandwich.

CharlesAlgun asks, "Should we finish exploring this place before going to the other?"

CharlesAlgun asks, "Or should we try to finish them off now, so we can wander in relative safety?"

Pyotr asks, "Do we have everything we'd need?"

Umberto picks up a pyramid and fingers it

Federico says, "Although the most important elements seem to be present, there may be items we do not understand still lurking around."

Pyotr says, "There might be more supplies or directions."

CharlesAlgun says (to Pyotr), "Aside fro Bjorg's sword..."

Pyotr says (to Charles), "Yes."

CharlesAlgun asks (of Pyotr), "Oh, you mean to travel?"

CharlesAlgun says, "Hm."

Pyotr says, "Right."

Bjorg pulls out his sword and checks to see if it's still mostly missing.

Pyotr says, "I'd say we check the other two doors."

CharlesAlgun asks, "Why would they keep the disparate elements scattered about the compound?"

GameMaster says (to Bjorg), "yep"

Pyotr says (to Charles), "To prevent people from doing this."

CharlesAlgun says, "Perhaps the creators feared their enemies would stumble onto it..."

Pyotr says, "Or, make it harder to succeed."

CharlesAlgun asks, "Alright, another door then... north or south?"

Pyotr says, "North"

CharlesAlgun nods, "Very well."

Umberto stores the scrap of paper and the pyramids in his sack

Pyotr asks, "Everyone else?"

Bjorg says, "Let's all move together."

Umberto says, "Just in case. Don't want any wolves drooling over it."

Pyotr says (to Bjorg), "yes"

CharlesAlgun asks (of Umberto), "Could I ahve those gloves back?"

Umberto hands back the gloves

CharlesAlgun packs away his own things.

CharlesAlgun asks, "Should we take the stick?"

Pyotr says (to Charles), "might want to get your stick, if you can."

CharlesAlgun grabs the stick, and tucks it into his pack, the knobly end sticking out the top.

CharlesAlgun trudge, trudge, trudges north.

GameMaster says, "at door"

Pyotr takes th rear.

[belowground] Bjorg asks (of GM), "i apologize if you answered this before and i missed it ... but did any of my things (eg. book) get ruined when i was roasted?"

CharlesAlgun opens it.

[belowground] GameMaster says, "some of them have black edges, but they still are ok"

[belowground] Bjorg says, "ok, thanks"

Pyotr has his axe out, of course.

[belowground] Whizzard says, "Federico go boom."

GameMaster says, "There's a large room beyond....there's alot of mold in there...also holes in the ceiling"

[belowground] Pyotr asks, "any other exits?"

GameMaster says, "Dunno yet"

GameMaster says, "It's a large room"

Pyotr says, "Let's go in."

Bjorg takes a peek up at the holes in the ceiling.

CharlesAlgun says, "Ah, mold. The classic symbol of ... of ... well, rooms like this."

GameMaster says, "You see bats flitting far above"

CharlesAlgun heads in, examining the ever-familiar mold.

GameMaster says, "Also, since my paste doesn't work, I'll try my best to describe the room shape you come up with"

GameMaster says (to Charles), "now and then you see a rotted piece of wood"

CharlesAlgun pushes aside some of the junk to examine things more closely.

GameMaster says, "Also, when trudging, you notice a door far to the northwest"

Pyotr goes to examine this door.

Pyotr goes to help Charles.

Pyotr says, "let's look at it, anyway."

Federico asks (of Charles), "A frame?"

Bjorg sticks together with the group.

CharlesAlgun points to the outline.

[belowground] Pyotr asks, "in the floor? the wall?"

[belowground] Pyotr asks, "the ceiling?"

Federico looks to where Charles points.

[belowground] GameMaster says, "floor"

[belowground] Pyotr asks, "trapdoor?"

[belowground] CharlesAlgun says, "In the rotted wood and mold."

Bjorg takes a look too.

Pyotr says, "Let's dig it out."

Pyotr starts to move...stuff.

Bjorg gives the floor a tap inside the outline to see if it sounds hollow.

GameMaster says, "nope"

CharlesAlgun helps to move the garbage.

Bjorg says, "Hmm, well it doesn't sound like a trapdoor anyway."

Federico aids in clearing away the mess,

(From GameMaster) Far below you, you hear something lumbering around

Pyotr says (to Bjorg), "let's see what it is."

CharlesAlgun says, "It's probably just old furniture, but... I dunno."

Bjorg says, "But I wouldn't rule it out, the traps here have been pretty clever."

Bjorg says, "And that sound doesn't make me really want to travel further down in these tunnels."

Pyotr says (to Bjorg), "Especially since we want to go up."

Bjorg says (to Pyotr), "Exactly."

CharlesAlgun fingers the edge of the frame, to see if it can be moved.

GameMaster says, "It could be, although it would probably fall apart in the process"

Pyotr asks (of Charles), "What is it?"

Bjorg chuckles.

Umberto says, "I can't tell."

CharlesAlgun asks, "Oh, you're opening the door?"

CharlesAlgun walks over to stand behind Umberto.

Umberto says, "I think it is also, locked."

Federico says (to Charles), "And it's trapped so don't go poking it and prodding it before we can get away."

CharlesAlgun says, "If it's supposed to go off when the door is opened, it's probably going to be triggered when pulled..."

Pyotr exmaines the wire.

Bjorg asks, "Is there any sign of where the implement of death will be located?"

Bjorg says, "It'd be nice to know which direction to dive in ahead of time."

CharlesAlgun says, "So cutting it might untrap it."

Pyotr asks, "Doesn't that door lead outside?"

Pyotr asks, "or did i get turned around in here?"

CharlesAlgun says, "It's probably not going to cover the whole room. I hope."

CharlesAlgun says (to Pyotr), "It might, or there might be more space between us and the outer wall. It's hard to judge."

Pyotr says, "Right."

Pyotr backs further away.

CharlesAlgun asks (of Bjorg), "Isn't this room a bit big for a ball of flame?"

Umberto says, "If you like I'll do the honors."

[belowground] Whizzard says, "ooh..good last words."

CharlesAlgun says, "You'd need -- well, at least half a dozen balls of flame..."

Bjorg says (to Charles), "I'd rather not find out the hard way just how big a fireball the Theans can conjure up."

CharlesAlgun says, "Heck, you'd need to have as many balls of flame as there are... er... holes in that ceiling..."

CharlesAlgun looks up at the ceiling again.

Umberto cuts into the door

Umberto puts the hatchet back into his pack

CharlesAlgun asks, "Is the wire split?"

Umberto says, "Indeed."

CharlesAlgun nods.

Umberto says, "Hard to see, of course."

CharlesAlgun asks, "Did you hear anything?"

Pyotr continues standing back.

Umberto says, "No."

Federico is still in the other room.

CharlesAlgun nods...

CharlesAlgun asks, "So the trap is probably still set?"

Umberto says, "Well, do be careful opening the door, make sure you don't pull on the wire ends."

Federico yells, "Have you done anything yet?"

Umberto says, "I'm going to go check on Federico and make sure he hasn't been eaten by anyone, also ask him about this scrap...I think I can almost translate it myself."

CharlesAlgun looks around. "So which one of us is opening the door?"

[belowground] Whizzard says, "<group: "Oh god...it burns!!!">"

Umberto says, "I'll open the door, though..."

Bjorg yells to Federico, "We think we broke the trap - but we haven't opened anything yet. You might want to wait a second."

Umberto says, "Please stand back."

Pyotr says (to Charles), "You seem to enjoy springing traps."

Bjorg stands back.

CharlesAlgun says (to Pyotr), "Actually, yes, provided they don't seriously hurt anyone."

Umberto stands about 5 feet back from the door

CharlesAlgun stands back, with the others.

Umberto runs at the door and does a kick, screaming as he does so

Pyotr says (to Charles), "be my guest, I'm well away"

Bjorg says (to Umberto), "Nicely done."

Umberto says, "The door collapses"

CharlesAlgun says (to Pyotr), "I think Umberto would rather do the honors."

Pyotr says, "So he does."

Bjorg walks up to the newly-smashed door and looks beyond it.

[belowground] CharlesAlgun says, "It is handy o send NPCs into dangerous situations first."

Federico yells, "Did somebody die!?"

[belowground] Pyotr says, "I'm glad he didn't tell me to. He's still technically my boss. :)"

[belowground] CharlesAlgun says, "The GM doesn't like to kill them off before the plot demands."

CharlesAlgun yells back, "Just Umberto."

Federico rushes in.

GameMaster says, "Ok, beyond..."

GameMaster says, "There's a bunch of broken shelves, like those you saw near the entrance"

Federico glares at Charles.

Umberto says (to Federico), "I was wanting to ask you about that ritual..."

Bjorg asks, "Hmm, so where's the trap?"

Federico asks (of Federico), "Yes?"

CharlesAlgun peers inside.

[belowground] Pyotr asks, "has anyone stepped through?"

[belowground] Bjorg says, "I'm in the doorway"

[belowground] Federico says, "Err. Umberto"

Umberto asks (of Federico), "What sort of measurement did you think they use?"

Federico says (to Umberto), "I have faith in Theus. And Theus is more likely to protect us if we abide by his laws."

Federico struggles to pull out of the arms of his restrainers.

Bjorg asks (of Charles), "What future? That we have no hope?"

CharlesAlgun says, "What may happen."

Bjorg asks, "That we're going to die?"

CharlesAlgun says, "What we can cause or prevent by our actions."

Pyotr says (to Federico), "Please, think."

Bjorg says, "That is no future. It's a vision, a dream."

Federico attempts to wrest the items from Umberto.

Pyotr pulls Federico off Umberto again.

Bjorg says, "Most likely the dream of a demented evil that wishes it would happen. That is no truth."

CharlesAlgun points to the next. "Perhaps that will tell the present."

Umberto says, "It's just the one I saw listed."

[belowground] Bjorg says, "phone, afk a bit"

CharlesAlgun asks, "Perhaps if they were switched. Rotated?"

CharlesAlgun glances at Federico.

CharlesAlgun moves around behind.

Pyotr says (to Charles), "Don't do this."

Umberto says, "Also, I do admire Federico's stance in this case. I'm willing to hold off on more experimentation for now."

Pyotr says (to Charles), "you're foolhardy, but not stupid."

CharlesAlgun nods. "Fine. For now."

Federico spits on Umberto.

Umberto says, "I'm just disappointed it wasn't a portal of some sort."

Pyotr says (to Federico), "Control yourself."

Umberto wipes off the spit

CharlesAlgun asks (of Umberto), "Wasn't it?"

Umberto says, "Well, physical travel I mean. Notice we are still stuck here."

Pyotr says, "We still haven't finished exploring this building"

CharlesAlgun nods. "A reasonable idea, provided the wolves haven't a brother.

Whizzard waves.

Whizzard goes to hamstring some zombies.

Pyotr whispers, "keep an eye on federico. I'm worried about him."

CharlesAlgun takes the staff, securing it safely in his pack.

Umberto secures the pyramids

You whisper "Stage whisper?" to Pyotr.

Pyotr says (to Bjorg,umberto), "That leaves last watch for you two."

Pyotr whispers, "no"

CharlesAlgun nods to Pyotr.

Umberto says, "Fine with me."

CharlesAlgun asks, "Should we let Era sleep?"

Pyotr says, "she seems so tired."

[belowground] CharlesAlgun asks, "Did Era pack a bedroll?"

[belowground] Pyotr says, "I'm sure she did. ;)"

CharlesAlgun moves off toward the entry, with the others.

(From Pyotr) Everyone moves towards the entry, goes to sleep or watches.
