Pyotr asks, "what did it turn out to be?"

Bjorg bursts into the room. "Sorry, I tripped and I think I broke something ... Charles in prison? What's going on?"

Ghogg says, "There was one person climbing through a window, two others behind him about to follow."

Pyotr says (to bjorg), "the marquis has been kidnapped, charles is in prison, it's all a mes. be quiet and listen."

[7thsea] Bjorg says, "that was so corny, but i'm tired :P"

[7thsea] Pyotr says, "heh"

Pyotr asks, "Anything valuable kept in that room?"

Cadiz says, "Charles is in prison, the Marquis is missing, and who/whatever killed that sailor on our ship has struck again, in the city."

BastardJack says, "Arr, me head is spinning."

Ghogg says, "I can't think of any remarkable features they had, they looked like common thugs or thieves."

Ghogg says, "First one had a pocked face from some sort of disease, but that's the only one I got a close look at, I suppose. He swung at me with a knife."

Pyotr asks, "Were you hurt?"

BastardJack asks, "Any of them wearing anything distinctive?"

Pyotr asks, "none of them had on a green cloak, did they?"

Ghogg says, "I fortunately still have some of my old skills and was able to wrestle him down and yell for help. The other two ran out the window."

Ghogg says, "The one thief, thug, or whatnot that I managed to wrestle down I managed to secure and we have in holding in a back room."

PJack asks, "What was he accused of stealing?"

PJack says, "Like I said, he was sketchy on details in his note."

Ghogg says, "He was found tromping around the back offices."

PJack asks (of Bjorg), "Were we even on this side of town?"

Ghogg says, "I'm afraid I don't know that many details myself, the Captain seemed rather busy with some sort of incident."

Cadiz says, "There was a disturbance as three intruders broke in, and when they came back, the Marquis was gone."

PJack says (to Bjorg), "mm, if the entire squad is gone...."

Cadiz says, "Oddly, his window seemed to have been broken *out* of."

Cadiz says, "So we thought if he left of his own accord, he may have come here."

Bjorg says (to Jack), "Oh, no. No way."

Cadiz says, "Those marks on his face are from smallpox. Probably about 10 years ago."

Bjorg asks, "There's a 'thing' on the loose?"

Ghogg says, "He brushes by you walking"

Ghogg says, "And, of course, it would seem someone would notice the entrance of a beast of some sort."

Pyotr says (to cadiz), "he's always been lucky."

Bjorg asks, "Could we be allowed to speak to Charles?"

Pyotr goes to Charles

Cadiz asks, "Is he awake?"

Pyotr exmaines Charles for new wounds.

Pyotr exclaims (at Charles), "good to finally see you!"

Bjorg says, "Hey Charles, good to see you"

Pyotr asks, "where'd you go, you moron?"

CharlesAlgun jumps up, setting aside his journal.

Cadiz asks, "Are you wounded?"

CharlesAlgun exclaims, "You got my note!"

[7thsea] Ghogg says, "yeah, mr. Let's ditch the captain :-)"

[7thsea] Pyotr says, "time to yell at him a bit"

Pyotr asks (of Charles), "what the hell were you thinking of?"

CharlesAlgun says (to Cadiz), "I am fine. That was almost not the case, though. The thing that attacked the man on our ship? it's loose in the castle."

Pyotr asks, "Why couldn't you stick with us, or at least tell us what you were up to?"

Bjorg considers grilling Charles, but it looks like Pyotr's doing a great job.

CharlesAlgun says (to Pyotr), "I saw the man with the green cloak, and followed him."

Cadiz asks, "Did you get a good look at it?"

Pyotr asks, "Did you find out any more about him?"

CharlesAlgun says (to Pyotr), "I didn't want to take the chance of losing him again. Alas, that is exactly what happened -- through, I suspect, magic trickery on his part."

Pyotr asks, "and is he behind the creature?"

Pyotr says, "ah, drat"

Bjorg asks, "So when you lost him, why didn't you meet up with us?"

Pyotr asks, "And why are you here?"

CharlesAlgun says (to Bjorg), "Because that's when I was arrested."

CharlesAlgun says, "I followed the man to the Parliament building."

Pyotr says, "Ahh"

Cadiz says, "Letting you take the fall."

CharlesAlgun says, "But inside the building, I lost him. I do not know how I could have lost him; I was watching him up until he stepped through the door, and I entered right after..."

Pyotr says, "A building like that is full of secrets"

CharlesAlgun says, "So I searched for him in the building. And that is when a guard told me that *I* had been seen stealing."

Pyotr asks, "did you?"

Bjorg says, "Aha"

Pyotr says, "we know you, after all"

CharlesAlgun says, "A man -- a government official, I am told -- said that he had seen me. But I had never seen him before, and I certainly stole nothing."

Pyotr says, "mmhmm"

Bjorg asks (of Charles), "When you lost the man, what did you see on the other side of the doorway?"

Bjorg asks (of Charles), "Anything at all? Anything alive, an animal or something?"

Pyotr asks, "mmm, when was the last time someone out to do us harm suddenly disappeared?"

Cadiz asks, "Did you get a good look at either the man or the beast?"

CharlesAlgun says (to Bjorg), "I was several paces from the door when he entered; when I entered the large room, it was filled with people, but none that I could see resembled him."

Pyotr asks, "Did you see any sparkles of light?"

Pyotr says, "or anything similar"

CharlesAlgun says, "No, I did not."

Bjorg says, "Ah, a crowded room."

[7thsea] Pyotr says, "drat, hoping it was whatsisname"

CharlesAlgun says, "I have a suspicion, which may be entirely unfounded, that the green-cloaked gentleman might be able to change his appearance."

Bjorg says, "Just what I was thinking"

Pyotr asks, "mmm, even that can be accomplished by sorcery?"

CharlesAlgun says, "Which would not only explain how I lost him, but -- more importanly -- how someone who resembled me was seen stealing."

Cadiz says, "Particularly if someone saw a person that looked like you."

Bjorg says, "But what sort of magic can do that? The only thing I can think of is Sidhe stuffs"

[7thsea] Cadiz exclaims, "Timing!"

CharlesAlgun says (to Pyotr), "I do not know of such a thing for a man, but the unseelie are known to take on the form of creatures, at least."

Pyotr says, "Ahh"

Pyotr asks, "When did this theft supposedly take place?"

Cadiz says, "And Pyotr hails from a land where people can *actually* change into creatures."

Bjorg says, "So we have an unseelie problem. Just great."

CharlesAlgun says, "They did not say."

Cadiz says, "But not other men."

Pyotr says (to Bjorg), "we knew that"

Pyotr asks, "rememebr Roll?"

CharlesAlgun says, "Originally, I had assumed it was earlier in the day, and that the official was merely misremembering."

Bjorg says (to Pyotr), "Sure, but I had hoped he wasn't behind all of this elaborate mess. That means he's playing with us again."

Bjorg says, "I had hoped we were a bit more boring to him than that."

Cadiz says (to Charles), "So tell us about the creature attack."

Pyotr says (to bjorg), "I doubt he'll leave us yet."

CharlesAlgun says (to Cadiz), "I heard a breathing..."

CharlesAlgun says, "At first, I didn't know what it was. I went to the door, but it had passed, and I could see nothing. I thought perhaps it was a apssing guard who felt uncommunicative."

CharlesAlgun says, "Then, not long after, a scream from another cell down the hall."

Cadiz asks, "A breathing from the hall, then?"

CharlesAlgun says, "Yes."

Bjorg asks, "Still, the unseelie we've seen has caused problems through tricks and illusions. Would an unseelie simply maul a victim like the ones we've seen?"

CharlesAlgun says, "I called out, but there was no response, neither from the other prisoner nor the guard."

Bjorg says, "There must be more to it."

Pyotr says (to bjor), "perhaps it's brought some dire creature here to do it's evil work"

Cadiz frowns.

CharlesAlgun says, "Then the breathing again -- when I looked, there was blood pooling in the corridor, seeping under the door..."

CharlesAlgun says, "And the the breathing..."

Pyotr says (to bjorg), "don't forget ferenc's transformation"

[7thsea] Cadiz asks, "Er, did we see the body of a guard?"

CharlesAlgun says, "It was... it was like it was nearly in my cell... just through the wall, but loud enough as though it were with me..."

[7thsea] Pyotr says, "nope"

[7thsea] Bjorg asks, "one of the bodies was a guard, wasn't it?"

[7thsea] Ghogg says (to Cadiz), "go read it over again then"

[7thsea] Pyotr says, "er, maybe"

[7thsea] Bjorg says, "the first one I think"

[7thsea] Ghogg says (to Cadiz), "the line about an ex-guard"

CharlesAlgun says, "And it grew closer, and louder -- almost like a growling. It was nearly upon me when the guard finally saw the blood, and came to investigate."

[7thsea] Ghogg says, "and then he said the second was a prisoner"

CharlesAlgun says, "That was when they took me to this cell."

[7thsea] Pyotr says, "ahh"

[7thsea] Pyotr says, "oops"

Pyotr says, "luckily for you"

Cadiz asks, "It stopped when the other guard appeared?"

Bjorg asks, "Well, the first thing we need to do is get you out of this prison. What did they think you stole?"

[7thsea] Bjorg asks, "er, has that been covered?"

CharlesAlgun says (to Cadiz), "I don't know if it stopped, or if it just hadn't reached me yet."

CharlesAlgun says, "I still couldn't see anything, but it seemed as though it was coming through the wall, by the sound."

Pyotr says, "odd"

Cadiz shudders.

CharlesAlgun says (to Bjorg), "I have no idea what the think I stole. They didn't tell me."

Bjorg says, "Odd."

[7thsea] Bjorg asks, "is that captain still around?"

[7thsea] Pyotr asks, "he's keeping an eye on us, isn't he?"

Pyotr says, "Let's go talk with th captain"

Cadiz asks, "So the blood seeped from one cell, down the hall, and into yours?"

CharlesAlgun nods.

[7thsea] Cadiz asks, "Or you saw it in the hallway?"

Cadiz asks, "Or you saw it in the hallway?"

Bjorg heads over to the captain.

CharlesAlgun says (to Cadiz), "Yes, and further down the hall, to the guard room. That's when the guards saw it and came to take me out."

Cadiz says, "Whew."

Pyotr goes to talk to the captain.

Bjorg asks (of Captain), "Have you found out yet what Charles is being accused of stealing?"

Cadiz adds, "And when it allegedly took place?

Ghogg says, "I've been watching you to make sure you don't slip anything to Charles, I haven't checked on that yet."

[7thsea] Pyotr asks, "mm, no good truth-detecting magic that can be used?"

[7thsea] Bjorg says, "not that we have, i think"

[7thsea] Pyotr says, "well, drat"

[7thsea] Ghogg says, "perhaps with 50% accuracy? :-)"

[7thsea] Pyotr says, "heh"

Ghogg says, "Another guard enters from the tower"

[7thsea] Pyotr says, "I'd want at least 51%"

Bjorg says, "Well we have signed word, as well as our own, that Charles was with us this morning. If you could find out the details of what he's being accused of, perhaps we can clear this right now."

[7thsea] Pyotr says, "then we can cast it 100 times and take an everage"

[7thsea] CharlesAlgun asks, "Then you could run 1000 iterations?"

[7thsea] CharlesAlgun says, "Timing."

Ghogg says, "Got a note here for a Charles Algun."

CharlesAlgun asks, "Yes?"

CharlesAlgun rises to accept it.

Ghogg says, "The Captain takes it and glances at it."

Ghogg says, "It seems Mr. Bradley is willing to drop all charges on two conditions."

CharlesAlgun smiles in relief.

Pyotr claps Charles on the back.

Ghogg says, "One, he says your ship must leave immediately after being relased."

Ghogg says, "Two...hm...this is odd."

[7thsea] Pyotr says, "oh, no"

[7thsea] Cadiz says, "Dagnabbit, the creature *is* from our ship."

Ghogg says, "It's just something about relinquishing a certain Item in your possession. He doesn't give any more detail than that, I presume you know what he means."

Bjorg says, "No."

Pyotr asks, "item?"

CharlesAlgun asks, "Item?"

Pyotr asks, "what item?"

Bjorg asks, "Who is this Mr. Bradley?"

[7thsea] CharlesAlgun says, "Aha."

Bjorg asks, "And by what authority does he demand these unreasonable conditions?"

Ghogg says, "The government official who had Charles arrested in the first place."

CharlesAlgun frowns, thinking.

Ghogg says, "And I'm afraid he's my superior as well, I can't overrule his wishes."

Bjorg asks, "Can we speak to this man?"

[7thsea] CharlesAlgun says (to Bjorg), "And that he can continue to do so, if we don't comply."

[7thsea] Pyotr asks (of bjorg), "hello, how else can he drop the charges unless he made them?"

Cadiz nods. "Or that, yes."

Ghogg says, "I can't release Charles without authorization."

[7thsea] Bjorg says, "who cares ... more guards = more people on our side if that beast attacks"

Bjorg whispers to Charles, "It'd be nice to have you with so we could tell ... but oh well."

Ghogg says, "Yes, I'll tell the guards to allow you to visit."

Pyotr says, "thank you"

Pyotr says, "I doubt the marquis would know anything"
