Cadiz says (to sailor), "That'll do nicely."

CharlesAlgun asks, "Mmm. So we're not getting out of this by being nice, I take it?"

Bjorg says, "Hmm"

CharlesAlgun says (to Cadiz), "Well, these folks seemed to have no trouble taking it from him while he was knocked out."
Cadiz says, "No, hand it over."
Cadiz says (to Charles), "But they gave it back."
CharlesAlgun says, "Mmhmm."
Cadiz says, "Bradley is the type of person to take what he wants, sounds like."
Bjorg says, "Yarrgh, this is making my bruised head even more"
Cadiz says, "No way would he give it back unless he couldn't do otherwise."
CharlesAlgun asks, "Do you think this is the real thing, then?"
CharlesAlgun looks at Jack?

Cadiz asks, "Only one way to find out. Who's handled it in the past?"
CharlesAlgun says, "Not I."
Gamemaster says, "Jack says, 'well, still got the tingle.'"
Cadiz asks, "And the floating sensation, etc?"
BJack says, "I'm not touching it, if that's what you're asking."
Bjorg says, "I don't think any of us have used it yet."
BJack says, "But my instincts tell me it's the real thing."

Cadiz raises an eyebrow.
CharlesAlgun says, "I don't trust this Bradley, or whoever he's with."
Bjorg says, "No kidding"
CharlesAlgun says, "And if they've had a chance to play with the talon, chance's are they're a step ahead of us already."
Bjorg says, "Play with? I thought you said we should stop playing games."
CharlesAlgun says, "I think it's time to see what this thing actually does."
Bjorg is just being difficult.
Cadiz asks, "Is that really very wise?"
CharlesAlgun says (to Jack), "I know how you feel, but I think it's time."
CharlesAlgun reaches a hand out to Jack.
Bjorg asks, "Eh, have we done a single wise thing yet?"
Bjorg asks, "Why break our winning streak now?"
Cadiz asks, "What if Bradley was right, even if he was a jerk?"
Cadiz asks, "And this thing shouldn't be used?"
[7thsea] Bjorg asks, "did he say that?"
CharlesAlgun says (to Cadiz), "Better than to doom the world by taking foolish chances than to doom the world by not."
Cadiz asks, "Er, why is that better?"
CharlesAlgun says, "And Bradley never said it shouldn't be used."
CharlesAlgun says, "He never even said he wouldn't use it."
Bjorg asks (of Cadiz), "Might as well make things interesting?"
Cadiz says, "Hmm."
Bjorg grins.
Cadiz mutters something that sounds like "de vivus dans les temps interressant"
Bjorg says, "Hmm, I wonder if the presence of Sidhe magics has an effect on my powers ..."
Cadiz asks, "Well, how do you think it's used?"
CharlesAlgun takes out his journal.
CharlesAlgun says, "There was a book at the Explorer's called 'A Brief Look at Sidhe History'..."
CharlesAlgun says, "It had a reference to a 'falcon-black seeker', and the text said it would lead one to the second marker, if wielded right."
Bjorg will keep his experimenting ideas to himself until Charles is done having his fun.
CharlesAlgun opens his journal. "Below that were these words."
CharlesAlgun asks (of Jack), "If you'll allow me?"
Cadiz says, "Wait, wait."
Cadiz says, "Explain what you want to do, first."
[Crows-Nest] Gamemaster says, "for point of reference, we are moving out of the X-Files segment and moving into the Indiana Jones segment of our story"
[Crows-Nest] Bjorg says, "hee"
[Crows-Nest] Bjorg says, "Bradley = cigarette smoking man"
CharlesAlgun says, "I want to read these words while holding the talon."
Cadiz says, "Hmm."
[Crows-Nest] Gamemaster says (to Bjorg), "actually, it's a pretty good comparison"
CharlesAlgun says, "These words have power; I know that much alraedy."
Cadiz says, "OK, I'll go along with this, on one condition."
CharlesAlgun asks, "Yes?"
[Crows-Nest] Gamemaster says, "my visual image of Bradley sort of even looks like him"
Bjorg says, "Hrm, damn I need a new broadsword ... I feel so naked"
Bjorg says, "Be right back, I'm going to go raid the armory"
Cadiz says, "Let me do it. Legion may be at work here, but Theus will protect me, if so."
Gamemaster says, "[yes, you can all get replacement weapons, just roleplay appropriately]"
Bjorg says, "Wait, you're doing this? This I want to see"
CharlesAlgun says (to Cadiz), "Alright."
Cadiz says, "If nothing happens when I try, we agree that Theus has spoken against this experiment, and we instead try to destroy it."
CharlesAlgun says, "Hmm."
Bjorg doesn't feel he has to get so much distance from the proceedings, as long as Charles isn't the one playing around.
CharlesAlgun says, "If nothing happens, then I guess the best way to keep it out of the wrong hands is it get rid of it. Alright."
Cadiz nods.
CharlesAlgun hands over the journal.
Cadiz sits down on the deck, and takes a deep breath.
[Crows-Nest] Bjorg tries to remember the name of the band who did the MST3K theme song
Cadiz says, "If you all will bow your heads..."
Cadiz pauses, then prays.
CharlesAlgun bows his head.
Cadiz says, "Theus, we're about to try something that could be very dangerous."
Bjorg complies, more out of curiosity than anything else.
Cadiz says, "It may lead to the work of legion."
Cadiz says, "If so, protect us."
Cadiz says, "Protect me."
CharlesAlgun puts a hand on Cadiz' shoulder, to maintain contact.
Bjorg is a bit disoriented, so he does what Charles does.
Cadiz says, "We are trying our best here, and think this is the best course of action, regardless."
Cadiz says, "There are powers at work here we do not understand, and we trust you to see us through to the end."
Bjorg glances up at the other two, but they still have their heads down, so he looks back down again.
Cadiz pauses.
CharlesAlgun says (to Sailors), "If anything happens to us, meet us at Lamstead. If we don't arrive there after a week, move on and may Theus give you speed."
Cadiz says, "Amen."
CharlesAlgun says, "Amen."
[Crows-Nest] Bjorg says (to charles), "timing, ha ha"
Cadiz asks Jack for the talon.
[7thsea] CharlesAlgun says, "Sorry, thought it was over."
Bjorg says, "Uh ... amen..."
Cadiz places Charles' journal at his feet.
BJack grumbles, but hands it over.
BJack says, "I'm doing this under protest."
Cadiz says, "Hold on to my shoulders."
Cadiz says (to Jack), "As am I."
BJack joins the connection.
Cadiz reads over the words a couple times to fix them in his memory.
(From Bjorg) Pyotr mumbles something under his breath about lousy magicks, always making things more difficult.
[7thsea] CharlesAlgun says, "If this *doesn't* do anything..."
[Crows-Nest] Cadiz says, "Heh."
[7thsea] Bjorg says, "then POW"
[7thsea] Bjorg says, "we hit the talon with a rock"
Cadiz grasps the talon.
[7thsea] Bjorg says, "well, a big rock"
[7thsea] CharlesAlgun says, "And we hit the pieces with big rocks."
[7thsea] Cadiz says, "And here I'll wait for GM descriptions ;-)"
Gamemaster says (to Cadiz), "You feel...white...and then...there's a floating sensation..."
[7thsea] Bjorg says, "and we scatter the pieces into the seventh sea! yay, time for another pan-dimensional trip"
Gamemaster says, "And you see yourself hanging far above the ground and you can see the outline of Avalon from here."
[7thsea] Bjorg says, "wait, i thought Cadiz was white"
Cadiz recites the words of the chant.
Gamemaster says, "The the talon feels like it wishes to swerve in some direction..."
[7thsea] Bjorg says, "(ha ha)"
Gamemaster says, "You feel a tingling, very light..."
[7thsea] CharlesAlgun asks, "THis is all just Cadiz, right?"
Cadiz tries to figure out where the talon wants to go.
[7thsea] Bjorg says (to charles), "shhh, i want to hear too :)"
Gamemaster says, "The talon is pointing more or less to the north. Abit west. You know it partially by instinct and partially from the land you see."
Cadiz also tries to pay attention to the tingling.
Gamemaster says, "The tingling passed fairly quickly as you said there words."
Gamemaster says, "Then you return to reality."
Cadiz says, "Well, something happened."
Cadiz says, "I guess it's onward."
[7thsea] CharlesAlgun asks, "Did he read yet, or just touch it?"
Cadiz says, "North, maybe a little westish."
Cadiz asks, "Did you hear me recite the words?"
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "which happens to be straight inland"
[7thsea] Bjorg says, "oh, great"
[7thsea] Cadiz pulls out the 7th Sea map.
[7thsea] Bjorg says, "let's just dock and start trudging then ... i'm sure the city will just let us casually pass through"
CharlesAlgun asks, "Inismore?"
[7thsea] Cadiz asks, "Did I get a sense of pulling strength, or only direction?"
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "this is the first time you used it"
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "you have no idea"
[7thsea] Cadiz nods.
Bjorg says, "North, and west? Let me get a map for you"
Bjorg hurries off to his quarters to get his navigational maps.
CharlesAlgun says (to Sailors), "Set course northwest, around the coast."
[7thsea] Cadiz asks, "Is triangulation a concept Thea has?"
Gamemaster asks (of Charles), "Along the bay, you mean?"
[7thsea] Gamemaster asks, "do you have the player guide?"
[7thsea] Bjorg asks, "that's relatively straight forward sea navigation stuff, isn't it?"
[7thsea] CharlesAlgun says (to GM), "As soon as I find my map of Avalon, I'll answer that."
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "pop it open and look at the watery spot next to Carleon. That's you"
[7thsea] CharlesAlgun asks, "What page is it on?"
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "cover"
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "front cover, you don't need detail"
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "(oh, Avalon sourcebook? I don't have that one open. just look at the player guide one"
[7thsea] CharlesAlgun says, "Oh, oh."
Gamemaster says (to Bjorg), "well, you aren't even in the sea, really"
CharlesAlgun says (to Sailors), "Out of the bay, then around the coast."
[7thsea] Bjorg says (to GM), "i just meant to get the map of Avalon out, for reference"
Cadiz draws an arrow on Bjorg's map in the direction of the pull, from where the ship is at the time.
[7thsea] Bjorg says, "ie. do IC what we're doing OOC"
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "eh, right"
Bjorg says, "Hey, I hope that's not permanent"
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "check :-)"
CharlesAlgun says, "We'll work out the exact destination later, over maps."
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "and yeah, if it the talon is actually working you can use a navigation roll to triangulate"
Cadiz says, "I'll try again once we're more west of here--then we'll be able to tell where it's pulling."
[7thsea] Cadiz asks, "Was it pulling before and/or after I recited the words?"
[7thsea] Bjorg says, "grr lag again"
[7thsea] Cadiz says, "I think it's the db dump."
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "it was pulling the whole time"
[7thsea] Cadiz says, "Yeah, just did another dump."
[7thsea] Cadiz asks, "Same direction?"
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "it sort of shifted around abit at first"
[7thsea] Bjorg says, "ah, so the words gave it direction"

Gamemaster says, "(by the way, I'm going to fold up there, then start up next game when you reach the point you want to triangulate at"

[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "well, it wasn't completely certain. you haven't tried it yourself normally without the words"
[7thsea] Bjorg says, "ok"
[7thsea] Bjorg says, "hmm"
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "but anyway, more to come next time"

[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "and as a special bonus, you may just meet pirates who say Arr"
[7thsea] Cadiz says, "At least we know it's not pointing at the graal. Not that means a ton, but still..."

[7thsea] CharlesAlgun says, "For all we know, it might triangulate on two different spots -- one with words, one without."
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "that is if you did the thing correctly to begin with"
[7thsea] Cadiz asks, "Did they hear me say the words during the trance?"
[7thsea] Gamemaster says (to Cadiz), "yeah"
[7thsea] Bjorg says, "actually, never mind. what i wanna try either a) won't work, or b) will be useless, or c) give info you probably don't want us to have :)"
[7thsea] Gamemaster says (to Cadiz), "you didn't float out to another dimension really, you just felt like you were doing so"
[7thsea] Cadiz says, "Right."
Gamemaster says, "Anyway, g'night, good game."
Gamemaster asks, "Can y'all try to coax katre back?"
Bjorg says, "yeah"
Cadiz says, "I expect the transcript will hearten him a bit."
CharlesAlgun nods.
CharlesAlgun waves to the GM.
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "one other thing"
Cadiz exclaims, "Wave!"
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "8 xp for everyone"
CharlesAlgun says, "Hopefully moving to the Indiana Jones part will help."
[7thsea] Cadiz exclaims, "Woo!"
[7thsea] Bjorg says, "woot"
[7thsea] CharlesAlgun exclaims, "WOo!"
[7thsea] Cadiz says, "I have to figure out how much I had left over. I think -2 ;-)"
[7thsea] Bjorg asks, "how much does a new skill set cost?"
[7thsea] Cadiz says, "10."

Gamemaster says, "well, the X-Files part isn't gone yet, and certainly not Mr. Bradley, but at least you shouldn't know this isn't just political discussion you are getting into :-)"

[7thsea] Cadiz says, "The rule so far has been that you can bump stuff within an 'act' with mid-act XP, but if you want new stuff, wait for between acts."
