Giovanna exclaims (at Rudiger), "Ah, yes.  Perhaps I should try to regard this as a situation of combat and the sausage as rations.  If only it weren't so very much made of meat!"

Giovanna asks Diego in a low voice what the others are talking about.
DiegoValdez says (to Giovanna), "Mm ... I think they're talking about Senor Nachtmann's employment. And asking after Eolo, I think."
Giovanna frowns.  "Where *is* Eolo?"
DiegoValdez says (to Giovanna), "I don't know ... I thought he was with you last."
Giovanna says, "We went to explore some matters, but I haven't seen him since we were all together again last night."
Eva says, "Mysterious. Well, I really am someone busy, so g'day..."
Eva steps behind the curtain.
Giovanna says, "No doubt he drank excessively and is now sleeping off the result of his potations."
Giovanna looks suspiciously pleased with the concept.

Giovanna's expression suddenly turns a little less smug, and she catches at Diego's sleeve.

Giovanna sighs a little.  "I've described a bit before."
Giovanna says, "This time it was-- a crowd of people walking on a road, and then knights riding through, all in black, covered with armor so that no human thing showed."
DiegoValdez says (to Giovanna), "Please. Tell us what you've been seeing ... it would be better to know the details than to be kept guessing at shadows."
Giovanna says, "They were beating the people with maces for no reason."
Federico2 says, "Maces? Curious."
Rudiger returns with slightly clearer water than before, and places it beside Giovanna.
Federico2 asks, "Who uses maces anymore?"
Giovanna says, "Before that, I dreamed something about a platform, and people on it, and I think Federico -- I can't remember it well or understand it now, it's faded a bit."
Giovanna says, "It looked like a public announcement of some kind, or an execution."
Federico2 looks slightly taken aback
[7thsea] Maxwell reenters the inn. "Oh dear."
Maxwell reenters the inn. "Oh dear."
DiegoValdez waves Maxwell over.
Federico2 says (to Giovanna), "Trust me, these are merely signs of Legion. Do your best to ignore them."
Giovanna laughs in a dry voice.
Federico2 says, "Now, I should check my letter...one moment"
Giovanna says, "There speaks a man who closes his eyes comfortably to the future."
Federico2 goes back to the corner
Rudiger asks (of Giovanna), "You have a touch of magic?"
[7thsea] Era_Khar'Kov says, "back, one-handed."
Giovanna closes her eyes again and slumps back in her seat.  She ignores Rudiger's question.
DiegoValdez says (to Rudiger), "Of course she doesn't."
[7thsea] Gamemaster says (to Era), "can Ellric type yet? :-)"
Rudiger says, "Forgive me. I appear to have touched a nerve."
Federico2 reads the letter
DiegoValdez says (to Rudiger), "If she did, she'd be a Fate Witch, and no power on earth would get her out of her native Vodacce."
[7thsea] Maxwell says, "ellric says, "asdfyhtraewgyefjcfwfm    ""
Rudiger says, "Mmm. I have little knowledge of magic, myself."
Giovanna opens one eye again.  "And *naturally* Eolo is somewhere with a hangover when he might be useful."
DiegoValdez asks (of Giovanna), "What can I do?"
Giovanna turns her one-eyed gaze on Rudiger.  "Eisen magic?"
Federico2 stands back up again and puts the letter in his pocket.
Federico2 says, "It looks like I must leave you for a time. There's a medical emergency I must contest with."
Rudiger says (to Giovanna), "What you say is rather a contradiction."
Giovanna says (to Diego), "Oh, it's-- there's not actually anything to be done, I suppose.  I am merely tired, and sick, and I miss home."
[7thsea] Era_Khar'Kov says, "we're working on that - its next on the list, immediatly after learning to talk."
Giovanna says (to Rudiger), "Hence my skepticism."
Rudiger says (to Giovanna), "and is why what I know of magic comes from bedtime stories my father used to tell me."
Giovanna says, "Aha."
DiegoValdez says (to Federico), "We quite understand, of course."
Federico2 says (to Giovanna), "Also, before I depart, a theological theory on visions of Legion---"
Maxwell says, "(Vodacce) he says he knows little about magic, not a little magic."
Giovanna looks wearily at Federico.
Giovanna says (to Maxwell), "(Vodacce) ah, it's so hard to understand through the accent at times."
Federico2 says, "Judging from Charles's experience, they can be in a *sense* a reflection of the future. But they will be distorted to suit Legion."
Era_Khar'Kov says (to Federico), "Now may not be the bst time.  She's just had a bad moment."
Federico2 says, "and it will be a *possible* future, but what Legion wishes to do is cause a future by showing it is possible."
Giovanna says (to Federico), "Lovely.  SO we see a vision of something bad, but not enough to give information about stopping it."
Federico2 says, "I don't know if that made any sense..."
Federico2 says, "Perhaps I could come up with an example."
Federico2 says, "Imagine someone getting a vision of their child sick and dying."
Federico2 says, "From a communiable disease."
DiegoValdez says, "It reminds me of a story I read in University ... an Old Republic story about a man who was told that he would one day kill his father and marry his mother...."
Federico2 says, "Now, the parent, obviously, wishes to prevent this."
Federico2 says, "So, say theoretically, she does her best to shut the child off from the world."
Maxwell asks, "the salamander isn't a good example?"
Maxwell has disconnected.
Federico2 says (to Maxwell), "Not for what I'm referring to."
[7thsea] Giovanna says, "such a bad example, in fact, that you'll get booted..."
Federico2 says, "And in the process, the child becomes rebellious."
Maxwell has connected.
Federico2 says, "So, the child sneaks out of the home and ends up hanging in, as they say, the dregs of society."
Federico2 says, "Obtaining the disease in the process."
Federico2 says, "So, merely *seeing* the vision caused it."
Federico2 says, "But that's only because the future was so strongly believed."
Giovanna says, "Oh, for pity's sake."  Looking thoroughly exasperated.  "Don't you think that's a bit-- farfetched?""
Federico2 says, "I'm sure you do not wish to hear my theological backing for this."
Giovanna asks, "And what am I supposed to do? Ignore the visions?"
DiegoValdez says, "Then perhaps it would be best if we proceeded as we would have, vision or no."
Era_Khar'Kov asks (of Federico), "How about another time?"
Federico2 says (to Giovanna), "Yes."
Giovanna asks, "Pretend that I didn't faint?"
Federico2 says (to Giovanna), "If you feel yourself urged to do something to prevent something bad from happening, do *not* do that action."
Giovanna says, "Easy for you to say when you're not overcome at RANDOM moments by images of the most appalling things."
DiegoValdez says (to Giovanna), "I'm sure the fainting is partly from want of food."
Federico2 says, "Because it will merely cause it."
Maxwell says, "I don't care to probe the workings of Legion, only to avoid them."
Giovanna stands up suddenly.  "Thanks for the most enlightening lecture."  She strides out of the room and there's a sound of the tavern door slamming as she goes outside.
Federico2 says, "In any case, although they haven't given specifics, it looks like I really am needed. My apologies. I will meet with you later."
Federico2 says, "I'll fetch my horse and be off."
[7thsea] Rudiger asks, "At some point in the next 30 mintues I'm going to flee homewards. Is there a time in there that would be best?"
Maxwell asks, "needed? where?"
DiegoValdez says (to Federico), "Farewell, padre ...."
Federico2 leaves
[7thsea] Rudiger asks, "like 'right now' or 'not just yet'?"
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "right now"
Rudiger says, "Interesting friend you have there."
[7thsea] Rudiger says, "Right."
DiegoValdez says, "He's very learned."
[7thsea] Rudiger asks, "Is there more to happen 'tonight' (game time) or can I make the 'I'm off to bed' excuse?"
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "I'll fast forward you with no probelm"
[7thsea] Rudiger says, "Right-o."
Rudiger has disconnected.
Federico2 exits stage left.
[7thsea] Maxwell asks, "what time is it?"
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "abit past 5"
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "it was 5 when Eva walked it"
DiegoValdez says, "Hm. I should see that Giovanna isn't too upset ... excuse me."
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "so maybe 5:20 now"
DiegoValdez walks quickly out.
[7thsea] markm asks, "Hey, this is weird.  How come Rudiger isn't listed as being online on this channel?"
Giovanna is slumped against the wall.  She wipes her eyes quickly and straightens up when she sees Diego.
[7thsea] markm says, "Channel bug!"
[7thsea] Maxwell asks, "because he just disconnected?"
[7thsea] markm says, "Oh."
[7thsea] markm says, "Forgot he was set quiet"

DiegoValdez says (to Giovanna), "Senora ... you know how the Padre is ... you mustn't mind his preaching."
Giovanna says (to Diego), "(trying to smile) I fear I overreacted.  But there is a great deal he does not understand."
Giovanna says, "And being told so PATIENTLY that what I suffer has no meaning somehow makes it only worse."
[7thsea] DiegoValdez says, "Oh yeah, forgot to mention. Sometime earlier this afternoon, I went out and got a Very Large number of handkerchiefs. Bought in bulk."
Era_Khar'Kov finishes her beer, and heads out to join the others.
[7thsea] Maxwell asks, "Era is walking?"
[7thsea] Era_Khar'Kov says, "Era was in the tavern."
DiegoValdez says (to Giovanna), "He means well. He worries that you are being victimised."
Giovanna says, "In a way maybe I am."
Giovanna says, "I think something is making me see these things -- and I've not been well -- I can't explain all of it, but *not well inside my head.*"
Giovanna asks, "But it must MEAN something, or what use is it?"
DiegoValdez says (to Giovanna), "I wish I could help. But I know so little about these things."
Era_Khar'Kov comes comes out on the last few statements.
[7thsea] Gamemaster exclaims, "the voices in my head tell me to do things! make them stop!"
DiegoValdez looks over as Era comes out.
Giovanna says, "In any case I did not mean to distract you all from your drinking."
Maxwell also steps outside.
Era_Khar'Kov says (to Giovanna), "So its not just your stomach?  That's a little harder to fix.  I'm sorry to hear that."
DiegoValdez asks (of Giovanna), "Come now. The health of a friend is more important than drinking to our health, no?"
Maxwell says (to Era), "Glad to see you've recovered so well."
Era_Khar'Kov says (to Maxwell), "Thank you.  I expect to back to normal in no time."
Giovanna says (to Era), "It's more, I think, that my constitution has been thrown off by whatever this is.  I admit I don't care for the food here, but I have never been so sickly before."
Era_Khar'Kov asks (of Maxwell), "I can't very well not live up to the Ussuran reputation, can I?"
[7thsea] DiegoValdez says, "hm"
[7thsea] DiegoValdez says, "lag..."
[7thsea] DiegoValdez says, "lag better now."
Era_Khar'Kov says (to Giovanna), "That's reassuring.  Do you have any idea who might be able to help you with this?  It seems its beyond a medical issue."
DiegoValdez says (to Giovanna), "It might be best if you came with us to Freiburg. There might be a specialist in a city so large who might be able to help"
Giovanna says (to Era), "I would like at least to speak to a woman of my own country.  There are stories of things like this that they might be able to recall for me."
Giovanna asks (of Diego), "A specialist in what? Bad dreams?"
DiegoValdez shrugs. "I've heard you can find just about anything or anyone in Freiburg."
Era_Khar'Kov says (to Giovanna), "Perhaps Lowenhurtz would know of someone."
Giovanna says, "I very much fear that something is happening to me, that I'm being *pursued*, and that running would be foolish..."
Giovanna says, "I've spoken to Lowenhertz when this first happened.  He seemed concerned on my behalf, but not to have any particular wisdom on how to resolve it."
Giovanna says, "If anything what he said-- was only more distressing."
DiegoValdez asks, "what did he say?"
[7thsea] Maxwell says, "afk a short moment"
Giovanna looks at her hands.
Era_Khar'Kov asks (of Giovanna), "Yes?"
Giovanna says, "He said that what was happening to me he had seen before because it happened to his wife."
Giovanna says, "Before she went insane and died."
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "<cue dramatic music>"
DiegoValdez bites his lip.
Era_Khar'Kov says (to Giovanna), "That certainly doesn't sound very encouraging.  For what it's worth, I thing"
Giovanna says, "And that whatever it is it is because I have roused the emnity of a Fate Witch, who is changing me against my will from the inside."
Era_Khar'Kov says, "I think you would be less susceptible to that."
Giovanna glances at Era with a rueful half-smile.  "Thank you, but I haven't been doing a good job of resisting so far."
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "[Your sanity has gone down by five points.]"
[7thsea] DiegoValdez exclaims, "Ia! Fthagn bird!"
Era_Khar'Kov asks, "Could another fate witch combat what she's doing?  Could one be hired, or persuaded perhaps, to help you?"
Giovanna says, "So you see, the only explanation I have for what is happening to me is that I have fallen, for some reason, into the web of the hatred of the same person who did this to his wife"
Giovanna says, "which suggests someone in the neighborhood, I would think."
Giovanna says (to Era), "I don't know."
Era_Khar'Kov says, "If distance makes a difference, then going to Freiberg might be a good idea."
DiegoValdez says, "Or possibly some of the leftover magics ...."
Giovanna says, "Everything I have heard -- and my knowledge on this point is limited -- suggests to me that it would take a Fate Witch of more than ordinary strength to accomplish something like this.  It would not be trivially combatted."
Giovanna says (to Era), "But I also want to know who is doing it, and before it's too late.  And if someone followed me to Freiberg, she would find it all the easier to hide there, in a big city full of foreigners, than here."
Giovanna shakes her head.  "I don't know how to explain. I don't even know what has been done to me -- I can only feel that *something* has, and it's frightening.  Even the talon felt like something external."
DiegoValdez says, "Well. We could look for her here before we go. Spread out, each person investigating one quarter of the village...."
Era_Khar'Kov asks (of Giovanna), "Would killing the fate witch end her curse?"
Giovanna says (to Era), "I don't know."
[Crows-Nest] Maxwell says, "You must bring the broomstick of the Wicked Witch."
Giovanna says, "I would think so, but I'm not sure."
Era_Khar'Kov asks, "Could it make it worse?"
Giovanna says, "I've no idea."
[7thsea] Ivan has joined the channel.
Era_Khar'Kov says, "If not, we might consider that as an option.  Whoever this person is, torturing someone to insanity is evil."
Giovanna laughs a little
DiegoValdez says, "Indeed."
Giovanna says, "It may surprise you, but that solution had not even occurred to me."
Era_Khar'Kov grins a little.  "Hmmph.  Because it is so straitforward, no doubt.
Giovanna says, "Mm, perhaps."
Giovanna says, "In any case. Now you know."
DiegoValdez asks, "Well, shall we go looking?"
Rudiger has connected.
Giovanna says (to Diego), "Is it really so simple?  Perhaps"
Maxwell asks (of Giovanna), "Would there need to be someone nearby, or is that only your suspicion?"
[Crows-Nest] Rudiger says, "I am back in the land of power."
[Crows-Nest] DiegoValdez exclaims, "Yay!"
[Crows-Nest] Gamemaster says, "now, with the power of Greyskull, I will rule the WORLD muahahahahaha"
Giovanna says (to Maxwell), "I find it hard to believe it could be done at a great distance, but even there I can't be certain.  It's only the suggestion that it would be someone in this neighborhood..."
Era_Khar'Kov says (to Giovanna), "If there is any chance that this plan would make things worse for you, or prevent the curse from being stopped, then we should consider other options.  This is just the easiest, I think, not necessarily the best."
Giovanna says, "If we could at least find the woman, then perhaps something could be done.  But I'm also afraid -- someone so powerful would be dangerous."
Giovanna says, "To whoever found her, I mean."
Gamemaster says, "You see a horse galloping along the lane."
Lowenherz has entered from behind the curtain.
Era_Khar'Kov says, "Just looking for her might be dangerous, were she to discover us."
DiegoValdez says, "Speaking of danger...."
Maxwell says, "'All the powers of Legion fail against the faithful of the Prophets.'"
Era_Khar'Kov looks at the horse.
Lowenherz says, "Ah! Franz told me you ran into a little trouble. I had to pass through again to procure some items."
Lowenherz says (to Era), "Do you like my horse? That was admittedly first on my agenda..."
DiegoValdez says (to Lowenherz), "good eve, senor"
[7thsea] Rudiger asks, "I take it I'm at the inn or somesuch?"
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "everyone else walked out to comfort Giovanna"
Era_Khar'Kov asks (of Lowenherz), "You have a fine animal.  I've been considering buying one, myself.  Any suggestions on where to go, or who to see?"
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "amble out at your leasure"
[7thsea] DiegoValdez says, "I think only about 20 minutes game time have passed since you left."
[7thsea] Rudiger says, "Excellent. I'm speedy."
Lowenherz says, "Well, when you make it to Frieburg, there's a man by the name of Luger who tends a fine stable."
Lowenherz says, "Tell him I sent you."
DiegoValdez says, "thank you"
[Crows-Nest] Maxwell says, "Lueger? Sounds like a guy to trust, sure."
Giovanna looks meaningfully at Lowenherz.  "How have you been of late, sir?"
[Crows-Nest] Gamemaster says, "also, yeah, there is an umlaut there"
Lowenherz says, "I have been better."
Lowenherz pats his horse
[Crows-Nest] Maxwell says, "aha. 'Liar', btw."
[Crows-Nest] Gamemaster asks, "smashing, isn't it?"
DiegoValdez wonders how to bring up the subject of the late Senora Lowenherz.
Lowenherz says (to Giovanna), "Ah, I did have a new theory..."
Giovanna asks, "Yes?"
Lowenherz says (to Giovanna), "Although of course you probably wish to talk about this alone."
Giovanna nods
Rudiger wanders out of the inn. "Having finished my drink I'm now -- oh." He pulls up short.
Maxwell says, "let's go back inside for now, then."
Lowenherz asks (of Rudiger), "Ah, hello. Did you see Eva?"
Rudiger says, "I did indeed, Herr Lowenherz."
Lowenherz asks, "And?"
Era_Khar'Kov says (to Lowenherz), "We should discuss horseflesh later.  I'm in the market."
Rudiger says, "She said that she had no immediate need for my skills, but that she would call upon me in the near future."
Era_Khar'Kov joins Maxwell as he heads back in.
Rudiger says, "I thank you greatly for your help in this matter."
[Crows-Nest] Gamemaster says, "I couldn't very well pick Honest Bob as a name"
DiegoValdez says (to Era), "My father used to keep horses, you know ... it makes me a little homesick...."
Rudiger says, "and trust I will comport myself befittingly."
[Crows-Nest] Giovanna says, "cause 'factory to dealer incentives' is hard to translate into Eisen"
[Crows-Nest] Gamemaster says, "'xactly"
[Crows-Nest] Rudiger says, "I think it's translated as 'fine sausages'."
Giovanna glances at Lowenherz.  "Perhaps we could take a glass of wine and discuss your idea?"
Lowenherz says (to Giovanna), "I am only passing through again, I have to depart tonight, but I can pause for around half an hour."
Giovanna nods
Lowenherz says (to Giovanna), "Let us go back and see Franz about that."
DiegoValdez says (to Giovanna&Lowenherz), "If you desire a a few moments to discuss private matters, I shall leave you for now. You'll find me inside."
Rudiger says, "I too will return to my table."
DiegoValdez says (to Era), "And if you wish to learn to dance (and you should), I could teach you."
Maxwell asks (of Era), "Do you suppose you could ride again as soon as the morning?"
Era_Khar'Kov pats Diego's arm.  "Perhaps another time.  Thank you for offering.
Giovanna goes with Lowenherz, hoping that he will also be inspired to offer her a little quick bit of pasta.
DiegoValdez offers his arm to Era, on the way in.
[Crows-Nest] Rudiger says, "What cheese is to Emily, pasta is to Giovanna."

[7thsea] Era_Khar'Kov asks, "iirc, this town is not large enough to boast a large horse-market, correct?"

Lowenherz asks (of Franz), "Can you break out some wine for the lady?"
DiegoValdez gets his guitar again, and plays a Vodacce love song. Singing along.
Lowenherz says (to Giovanna), "I'm sure you can wheedle what you want out him later, I don't have time for a full meal right nowl"

Lowenherz sits down
Giovanna says, "I am more curious about this other matter."
Lowenherz says, "Yes..."
Rudiger nurses his beer.
Lowenherz asks, "How much do you know of your geneology?"
Giovanna coughs.  "My mother was an honest woman.  I know as much as any Vodacce lady should."
Lowenherz says, "I don't mean mother. I mean farther back."
Lowenherz says, "Great-grandparents and such."
Giovanna shrugs.  "Nobility but of no great mark, to my knowledge."
Lowenherz says, "Perhaps if I phrased it more specifically..."
Lowenherz asks, "Do you have any foreign blood that you know of?"
Giovanna says, "No, not at all."
Giovanna looks faintly displeased by the suggestion, in fact.
Maxwell listens to Diego's song, trying to relax a bit.
Lowenherz says, "Hm. Curious."
Giovanna asks, "What makes you think of it?"
Lowenherz says, "Well, when I was trying to pinpoint what was *different* about your magic..."
Lowenherz says, "That's what occured to me fit most perfectly."
Giovanna asks, "What nationality?"
Giovanna asks, "Or could you tell?"
Lowenherz says, "I'm not sure. Something far north. Avalon or Vesten."
Giovanna shivers
Giovanna says, "Cold country."
Lowenherz says, "Odd highly diluted blood would make a difference, but..."
Rudiger says (to Maxwell), "I don't know if Diego told you, but I am at loose ends for a while. Should you want or need another blade at your service in your travels, mine is yours to command."
Giovanna asks (of Lowenherz), "What sort of powers would that confer?"
Giovanna says, "I have heard only stories..."
Giovanna says, "And none of them terribly believable, to be honest."
DiegoValdez comes to the end of the Vodacce love song, then begins an Eisen paean to champagne.
Lowenherz says, "I'm afraid I haven't done much self-education in the northern magic arts."
Lowenherz says, "but there's the Idea of North somehow in you."
Maxwell says (to Rudiger), "You are welcome to come along to Freiburg tomorrow if you wish."
Lowenherz says, "Hm, I probably must be leaving soon."
Giovanna nods
Rudiger says, "I think I would. I fear I will rust should I not do something soon."
Lowenherz says, "Oh, one other thing, that has occured to me, before I depart--"
Giovanna asks, "I fear I've no idea-- yes?"
Lowenherz says, "Avoid that book we looked at earlier."
Giovanna asks, "Don't you think it might be too late?"
Era_Khar'Kov says (to Diego), "I believe I will take you up on your offer after all.  It appears we may be here a while."
DiegoValdez sings, "Die Majestat wird anerkannt, rings im Land / Jubelnd wird Champagner der Erste sie genannt!"
[Crows-Nest] Maxwell asks, "guh. Idea of North? didn't the talon...?"
Lowenherz says, "Don't mess with it any further. I have odd feelings about it."
Giovanna asks, "What do you think it does?"
Lowenherz says, "I have no idea whatsoever."
Rudiger says (to Diego), "Your voice is truly remarkable."
Giovanna looks oddly
DiegoValdez smiles as he takes Era's hand.
Lowenherz stands up
DiegoValdez says (to Rudiger), "Gracias. I try my best."
Giovanna says (to Lowenherz), "Well, then, thank you, and farewell."
Lowenherz asks, "Shall I ask Franz to prepare something for you?"
Giovanna says, "Please.  I have not been feeling at all well."
DiegoValdez says (to Era), "Now ... I don't know of any Ussuran dances, unfortunately...."
Lowenherz says, "I'll do that. And do take care of your health."
Lowenherz puts on his hat

Giovanna opens her eyes and looks around.  She seems a bit unfocused.

Maxwell asks, "Another ... uh, attack?"

Giovanna says (to Maxwell), "Something like that."

Giovanna closes her eyes again as though the light hurts them.
Giovanna says, "This time I was part of the vision, I wasn't looking from outside."
Giovanna says, "I was in Vodacce, part of a procession leading someone-- important, I think, they were cheering"

Franz has entered from behind the curtain.

Maxwell says (to Diego), "I don't actually think they'll be after her again, although I don't know."

Eolo shakes his head. "Not in this light, at any rate."
Giovanna looks up.  "But who will I be now, Diego?  I don't know myself any more.  I only know that I am being altered from the outside against my will.  And even if I weren't... I have been a different person these few months than I ever was before.
Ender disappears through an invisible gap in the MUD. You think you may have heard the sounds of chatting before the gap closed again.
DiegoValdez frowns.
DiegoValdez says (to Giovanna), "Only solution is to find out what's happening, and why."
Maxwell says, "I can't help feeling this is a trap, a strange trap."
Giovanna nods.
DiegoValdez says (to Giovanna), "Feeling sorry for yourself is only going to get in the way."
Maxwell says, "But I'm not one to pass up any clue."
Eolo says, "it's entirely possible"
Eolo says, "the tracks leading to the monster pit elsewhere"
Eolo says, "fairly easy to locate"
Eolo says, "but I can't see a motive"
Giovanna brushes at the beginnings of tears.  "I'm not sorry for myself.  I just feel lost."

Giovanna decides that her part in this operation would be least distastefully served if she just picked up whole rugs and emptied them through the window.

Giovanna asks, "How many more fiendishly trained animal accomplices can this fellow have at his disposal?"

Maxwell says, "I would suppose he found these on short notice, and could do so again."

Giovanna says, "'Lady, will you buy a lovely scarf?  Perfume?  A venomous spider?' -- ah, how I miss home..."
DiegoValdez thinks, "venomous spider? she must be joking, of course." Laughs.
[Crows-Nest] Gamemaster says, "good thing he made his dancing rolls"
Eolo says, "for the moment, I plan to go to bed."
Maxwell says, "Yes, it's rather late. Until the morning."
Giovanna nods. "A wise plan."
DiegoValdez says, "Bed would be a good idea. We'll need some rest after tonight."
Eolo walks up to his room and sits on his bed, wincing slightly.
Eolo cleans and oils his crossbow, wipes the daggers off, then crawls into bed and is quickly asleep.
Giovanna goes into her own room and despite being tired spends a long time moving Sorte cards around, to no particular end.
Eolo wakes with a sudden thought, and, redressing, walks quietly down the corridor to Giovanna's room.
DiegoValdez strolls back to his room (wherever that may be), cleans his swords, undresses and collapses into bed.
Eolo taps on the door. "M'lady?"
Giovanna comes to the door
Maxwell retires and falls rather quickly asleep.
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "ook. gm sleepy as well"
Giovanna asks (of Eolo), "(in Vodacce) what is it?"
Eolo says, "(in Vodacce) my apologies for disturbing you -- it occurs to me that if you were to, mm, be using your skills, attempting to discover the location of our animal-training friend might be of some use."
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "still need name"
Giovanna says (to Eolo), "(in Vodacce) ah -- it's a good thought, though I don't know whether I can-- yet."
Eolo frowns.
Giovanna says, "There's something else, though, Lowenherz told me"
Eolo asks, "oh?"
Giovanna says, "I don't know what to make of it and I couldn't speak of it to the others"
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "and in this case, a personal object"
[7thsea] DiegoValdez says, "Maybe he wrote his name in the flyleaf of the books we took from his lair."
Giovanna says, "but he seems to think I have a touch of some other northern magic as well."
Giovanna says, "He suspects genealogy, but I know my parentage; if there is any it probably came to me through the talon."
Eolo says, "my."
Eolo says, "anything with the power to implant that sort of magic must itself be .."
Giovanna says, "Yes."
Giovanna says, "Well, I can't be sure."
Giovanna says, "But it seems curious, otherwise."
Eolo says, "yes."
Giovanna says, "My family were not the kind casually to marry wandering Vesten, if you see my meaning."
Eolo says, "of course, m'lady."
Giovanna says, "But until I find someone who has magic of the relevant kind I'm not sure I'll even know what it is..."
[7thsea] DiegoValdez says, "Mm. Caffeine buzz wearing off, too."
Giovanna shrugs.  "In any case.  You need your sleep, and I can be of no immediate help until I know more about the man we seek.
Eolo asks, "what more do you need to know?"
[7thsea] Gamemaster says, "anyway, now I have to think of something else diabolical to do when you get back from your trip"
Giovanna says, "His name, and to have something of his"
Eolo frowns.
Eolo says, "I'll see what I can do."
Eolo says, "sleep dreamlessly, m'lady."
Eolo bows, and returns to his beed.
[7thsea] Eolo says, "-e"
Giovanna stands for a moment at the door, then turns thoughtfully and goes back in.

[7thsea] Eolo says, "hee hee"
[7thsea] Eolo asks, "ok, all done?"
[7thsea] Maxwell says, "think so."
[7thsea] DiegoValdez says, "Looks like it."

Maxwell has disconnected.
