[Crows-Nest] Dara laughs.

Birralee exclaims, "I can dig!"

(From Yasmina) And eventually the second group reaches the big green area where the city center used to be.

Thalia says (to Dara), "the city is ...changing..."

Nathan looks around

Dara's eyes sparkle. "I know."

Ferris says, "Hey."

Nathan says, "I guess if this is all plants there's not likely to be any buildings popping up underneath us"

Thalia asks (of Dara), "this doesn't ... make you nervous?"

Nathan says, "whoah, people"

Nathan says, "I thought it was just us"

Ferris rubs the back of his neck, and feels more gritty rust.

Birralee asks (of the newcomers), "DID YOU BRING FOOD?"

Dara says (to Thalia), "You know what? No, no it doesn't."

Nathan says, "and, er, whoever those two crazy people were"

Pete says (to Nathan, Dara, Thalia), "Hello."

MonkeyKing wakes up

Nathan says (to Birralee), "uh, I think I have some tictacs"

MonkeyKing exclaims, "Wah! People!"

Thalia says (to birralee), "I have a granola bar"

Pete says, "The big groundhog wants meat, I think."

Thalia blinks at the monkey

Nathan says, "Oh good, a talking monkey"

MonkeyKing scampers up a tree and throws twigs at the newcomers

Ferris says, "I'm Ferris, and that's Pete, and these are a couple of critters."

Thalia says (to Nathan), "you ... you ... called it, I guess"

MonkeyKing exclaims, "MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THANNA MONKEY!"

Dara says, "Hi, I'm Dara. This is Thalia and Nathan."

Thalia says (to monkey), "(shaking a fist) hey cut it out! or I will sick the cat on you!"

Dara asks, "Is everyone ok here?"

Ferris says, "Hi."

Nathan says, "Hey Ferris. Hey Pete. Hey, er, critters."

(From Yasmina) The sky is getting stormy, and those of you with Realm 2 or higher can sense that there are unfriendlies moving around the city, as well as the two powerful freaks.

Ferris says, "We're okay, but we were just at the hospital, and everyone there was dead."

Nathan studies the sky.

[Crows-Nest] MonkeyKing says (to Thalia), "fwiw, I'm an adult male langur and hence a good deal bigger than a cat"

Pete says (to Dara), "Assuming this isn't all a concussion, yes."

Birralee exclaims, "I'm from Birralee, Tasmania! I am a Tasmanian devil, a nocturnal carrion eater with strong jaws!"

Ferris says, "There's -- there's somethin' bad moving around out there."

Ferris stares in all directions, looking uncomfortable.

[Crows-Nest] Thalia sticks out her tongue. "Fine, be that way."

Birralee says, "And right now I feel bad things."

[nobilis] Dara asks, "'two freaks' == imperators?"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "yeah"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "Yes"

[nobilis] Nathan says, "I wouldn't say that to their face"

[nobilis] Pete says, "Nah, Birralee and MonkeyKing."

[nobilis] Birralee exclaims, "wah!"

Thalia says, "I feel sick"

Ferris says, "I think we need to plant this seed right now."

Thalia says (to Ferris), "people were dead in our neighborhood too"

Pete says (to Thalia), "I'd suggest the hospital, but that'll only make you feel worse."

Dara says, "We should... do something about those things."

Nathan asks, "seed?"

Birralee snuffles around, finds a good spot, and the dirt starts flying.

MonkeyKing clambers down from the tree

Thalia steps out of the way of the dirt projectiles

Nathan reaches experimentally upwards.

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "Also, those of you in the same familias have a vague sense of recognition of the folks you've just met who share an imperator."

Ferris kneels down and gouges one of his huge, shovel-like hands into the earth alongside Birralee.

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "who is in my fmaily?"

Nathan eyes Pete.

Dara peers into the clouds more closely, trying to figure out where/what the bad guys are.

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "Ferris and the furballs"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "great. give me the freaks"

[nobilis] Birralee says, "I am going to give you such a biting"

Pete asks (of Nathan), "Have I met you?"

[nobilis] MonkeyKing says, "says you, horsefucker"

[nobilis] Dara says, "Thus speaks the centaur."

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "and the ghost-girl, actually. forgot about her"

Thalia says (to monkey), "you weren't in a zoo or something were you? You look, kinda, familiar"

Thalia says, "except for the talking"

Nathan says (to Pete), "I don't know -- did I see you at the office, maybe? I work in the building permits division"

MonkeyKing says, "I was in a zoo but I fought my way out."

[nobilis] Thalia asks (of GM), "do I have my extra legs yet or am I still human?"

(From Yasmina) The ghost-girl who arrived with the second group but then sort of faded into the background moves forward to stare intently down at the seed that is rapidly getting buried.

Birralee pauses digging for just a second. "I know what a zoo is now!" He goes back to digging.

[nobilis] Pete asks, "The ghost girl?"

Ferris starts feeling hot and uncomfortable in his suddenly too-small shirt.

[nobilis] Birralee says, "X"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "Still human, working on extra legs"

[nobilis] Nathan says, "I dunno, she was leading us along"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "Not x"

Thalia says (to Pete$co), "this girl led us from the city"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "not a PC :-)"

[nobilis] Birralee asks, "oh, not X?"

[nobilis] Birralee says, "Aha"

Nathan says, "from, er, one of the weird people"

Pete says (to Nathan), "Oh, I've probably seen you on site. Barrett's Construction."

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says (to Ferris), "rowr"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "about 17 years old, dark hair, transparent"

Nathan says, "oh, right"

MonkeyKing asks (of Thalia), "hey, have you got any candy?"

Thalia asks (of monkey), "um. do you have a name?"

Ferris takes his shirt off, revealing a broad, rusty-iron colored torso.

Nathan says, "you didn't, er, look like this at the time"

Thalia says (to money), "i have a granola bar, if you want"

Ferris thinks, "Whoa," then goes back to digging.

MonkeyKing exclaims, "WAHOO!"

Yasmina says, "The pit is pretty deep now. The ghost-girl says, "That's deep enough.""

MonkeyKing bounces up and down. "Granola!"

Thalia gives the monkey a granola bar, but before he takes it, she yanks it away, and says, "What do you say?"

Ferris stops digging, and drops the golden seed in.

MonkeyKing blows a raspberry.

Pete looks at himself again. "Oh, right. Forgot about that."

Ferris says (to Birralee), "Ok snuffles, shove the dirt back on."

Birralee climbs out of the hole and starts moving the dirt back in.

Ferris starts re-scooping dirt.

Thalia laughs and hands over the granola bar

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "does the monkey have a name?"

MonkeyKing scarfs it down messily

[nobilis] Pete says, "'Greater Thanna Monkey'."

[nobilis] Birralee says, "I call him 'Tail'"

MonkeyKing says, "I am king of all the monkeys."

Thalia says (to Granola), "heh"

[Crows-Nest] Ferris says, "ha ha ha"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "Granola it is, since that's what he said when I asked him his name"

Ferris stands up and claps his hands together.

Ferris asks, "Do we need to water this or what?"

Thalia asks (of Ferris), "what did you just plant?"

Ri sinks down until she's half in the hole. Then she glances up at the two diggers and says, "This is important, but it is not the most important. I don't think she admits what is most important."

Birralee says (to Thalia), "it's a seed a woman gave us"

Pete says, "There's a pond over there."

Ferris says, "I dunno, but it was important."

Thalia asks (of Berry), "dressed all in blank?"

Ri exclaims, "But yes, water it!"

Thalia says, "er black"

Pete says, "And I got a bottle."

Birralee says, "I'm thirsty, so I won't be good at watering right now."

[nobilis] Ferris asks, "wait, who's Ri?"

Pete goes to fetch a bottleful of water.

[nobilis] Thalia says, "ghost girl"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "who's ghost girl? I guess I'll find out when I read the transcripts later"

[nobilis] Pete says, "NPC who arrived with Thalia et al., I think."

[nobilis] Dara nods.

[nobilis] Thalia says (to Ferris), "some chick who is with Yasmina"

[nobilis] Birralee says, "yay Thalia et alia"

[nobilis] Ri says, "sorry about the confusion"

Pete pours water on the earth.

Ferris says, "I dunno about you folks, but this is gotta be the weirdest day ever."

Thalia says (to Ferris), "i hear ya"

Nathan says, "There was this one time in college -- but besides that, pretty much, yeah"

[nobilis] Ri says, "afk for a minute"

Ferris sits heavily down on the ground and stares at nothing.

Thalia asks (of Ferris), "did you see a weird looking person, like with weird eyes?"

Dara continues to look for the bad guys in the dark.

Ferris takes his boots and socks off, revealing big red feet.

Thalia says (to Ferris), "he stuck his hand inside Dara and Nathan when we saw him"

Birralee asks, "Do the rest of you feel the bad things?"

MonkeyKing scuttles up behind Ferris and searches for fleas.

Ferris says (to Birralee), "I do."

Nathan says (to Birralee), "bad things? I mean, I see it's storming"

Thalia says (to berry), "i feel weird, yeah, like someone really really hates me and is sending some nasty thoughts and vibes"

Ferris says, "No, living things. Movin' around. Things with real bad vibes."

Pete asks (of Birralee), "You mean, just because the city's been crumbled, and everyone's dead but us? Or other bad things?"

Nathan says, "hrm"

Dara says, "Yeah, me too."

Birralee exclaims (at Pete), "Other bad things!"

Pete says, "Oh. Then nope."

Birralee backs slowly under some nearby brush.

[Crows-Nest] Thalia finishes Thalia's web page and her pre-centaur picture

Ferris stares in all directions, looking for the bad things.

Thalia says, "i read somewhere you can hear people walking if you put your ear to the earth"

[nobilis] Ri says, "(back)"

Thalia lies down and puts her ear to the ground.

Ferris leans over and puts his ear to the ground.

Thalia asks (of Ferris), "hear anything?"

MonkeyKing says (to Thalia), "you've got a granola wrapper stuck to your ear"

Ferris says, "I hear the blood rushing in my head."

Ferris says, "I hear.."

Ferris says, "Iron... bones"

Ferris says, "I think I hear the bones of the earth, if that makes any sense, and I know it don't"

Ferris sits up again, looking spooked.

Pete absently sits down crosslegged on nothing.

Ferris pauses, then leans over and listens again, intrigued.

[Crows-Nest] Birralee exclaims, "hey, that's no centaur!"

[Crows-Nest] Thalia says (to berry), "i am still human"

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says, "not bad"

Birralee says, "I hear my stomach."

Nathan says (to Ferris), "really? I think I hear the music of the stars"

Dara says, "I think that cloud would be helpful, somehow."

Thalia throws the wrapper at Granola

Thalia says, "i hear moans and groans"

Pete asks, "Cloud?"

Nathan asks, "so, er, is this seed going to do anything?"

Thalia says, "i hear suffering"

Ferris takes a big sniff. "I can smell the iron down there, and I can hear it."

Nathan stares at the spot where it's planted

Dara wanders over to a corner of the square closer to the cloud emanating from the mill, and holds out her hand.

Thalia says (to Nathan), "you have been reading Jack and the beanstalk, haven't you? Nothing is going to happen in a day"

Ferris asks (of Nathan), "what does it sound like?"

MonkeyKing asks, "I'm bored. What's happening?"

[Crows-Nest] Thalia asks, "wait. Dara is female?"

[Crows-Nest] Thalia says, "curse the gender field"

Nathan says (to Ferris), "I think they're calling for me"

[Crows-Nest] Dara says, "There you go."

[Crows-Nest] Dara says, "Sorry."

Pete says, "Well, if nothing's going to happen here, I still want to find a phone that works."

Thalia checks her cell phone

Thalia asks (of Pete), "you want to try this?"

Pete says (to Thalia), "Sure -- mine didn't, but maybe yours will."

Thalia says (to Pete), "it did weird things when I used it earlier"

Pete says, "Thanks."

Dara says, "There are three threats. Two similar, one different."

Pete dials Sharon.

Dara says, "Moving."

Thalia says, "like someone cut in and said, "There you are" and then hung up. Really mean sounding"

Ferris stands up, listening to Dara.

Nathan reaches his hands up again, and they're limned with a silver glow. Up above, the stars break through the clouds for a moment.

[Crows-Nest] Dara says, "[afk fone]"

(From Ri) Sharon's phone does not pick up. You give up, eventually, and the phone rings back.

Nathan says, "...er."

Ferris says (to Nathan), "Wow"

Nathan yanks his hands down hastily.

Pete hands it back to Thalia.

(From Ri) Ring ring

Ferris says, "hey, lemme try that"

Thalia hesitatntly answers

Nathan says, "what was -- um."

Thalia says, "Um. Hello?""

Ferris holds his broad hands out over the earth and concentrates.

Ferris says, "Hmm."

(From Ri) Click. Whoever's there hangs up.

Thalia says, "you know, this is creepy.""

Birralee says, "Nothing has felt right since all of you food bringers learned to talk."

MonkeyKing scratches his balls. "You're all edgy. Why?"

Thalia says, "i think i am going to chuck this phone. What if it's that bad guy the lady told us is following us? what if he is using this phone to figure out where we are?""

Pete asks, "Bad guy?"

Ferris asks, "What guy?"

Thalia tries to remember

MonkeyKing asks, "Are we gonna have to beat up another gang?"

[Crows-Nest] Thalia says, "damn, no recap"

Thalia asks, "some servent of a malevolent lord?"

Ferris says, "Oh."

Ferris says, "that does sound like a bad guy."

Pete asks, "Like in a fantasy book?"

Thalia says, "or was it obnoxious"

Birralee says, "they feel like food stealers"

Ferris flexes his newfound muscles, wondering whether they'd be good enough, and thinking probably not quite.

Pete says, "It'd say it was a prank call, but today, I can believe almost anything."

MonkeyKing exclaims, "You're doing it all wrong. You should all be jumping around and shouting and making hell!"

Pete says, "Anyway, if you want to come with me, you can probably all fit in the truck -- of you don't mind riding in the bed."

MonkeyKing exclaims, "To show 'em who's boss!"

Ri says abruptly, "Somebody out there kills worlds. I remember... something."

Thalia asks (of Berry), "hey, can you dig a hole near a tree or something?"

Pete says, "If someone is after you, it might be a good idea to start putting some distance between."

Nathan asks (of Ri), "remember what?"

Ferris asks (of Pete), "What about the flat tire mr monkeyshines gave you?"

Thalia says (to Berry), "I want to bury the phone, but in case I need to come back and get it"

Pete says (to Ferris), "I got a spare."

Birralee says, "Okay."

Ri shakes her head. "I don't know. Just... a world dying. Flickering out."

Birralee moves out from under the bushes and starts digging a small hole next to a nearby tree.

Ri says, "The bad thing out there is... like the things that can kill worlds.""

Thalia asks, "I studied stars dying in school, but planets?"

Ferris says, "I dunno about everybody else, but I don't wanna go back into the city."

Thalia waits till the hole is decent size. "Okay you can stop now"

Birralee says, "okay"

Pete says (to Ferris), "You're not going to find any cops or doctors or telephones sitting here in the park."

Nathan says (to Ri), "that sounds bad"

MonkeyKing says, "I'm staying here where there's trees and if any other monkeys come I'm gonna bite them until they run the fuck away."

Thalia drops the phone in to the hole

Birralee exclaims (at Pete), "I like it here!"

Birralee says, "There was just bad meat and broken things."

Thalia asks (of Berry), "can you cover it up for me? and put like grass and leaves on it to hide it?"

Ferris says (to Pete), "We didn't find any out there, neither!"

Pete says, "That factory's still working. Maybe that means there's someone still there."

Birralee moves more dirt around, then artistically scatters leaves and twigs atop the freshly-turned dirt.

Ri says, "(The factory is new)"

Thalia asks (of Berry), "hey, curious, but can that genie grant us wishes?"

(From Ri) No way was something belching that much black smoke into the air before)

[nobilis] Pete asks, "Is the factory normal walking distance from here, or would it (assuming you're still thinking like a mortal) be easier to go back for the truck and drive there?"

Nathan says, "it seems like there ought to be some sort of code violation with that factory"

Ferris says, "Okay, but maybe it's better if we stick together for the moment, with all those bad guys out there."

[nobilis] Ri exclaims, "Walking there seems more mythic!"

Ferris says, "I suddenly feel like I need to protect people"

[nobilis] Ferris asks, "what time of day is it?"

Pete asks (of Nathan, Dara), "Are you guys with me? Check out the factory, and find out what's going on there?"

MonkeyKing says, "I suddenly feel like I need to take a dump out of a tree on someone's head"

Birralee says, "you can protect me"

[nobilis] Ri asks, "It was noonish before. Now it's hard to tell, with the stormlight and the black smoke and so forth. Mid-afternoon?"

Pete moves away from any trees.

Dara has disconnected.

Dara has connected.

Dara walks the plank to adventure. Arr!

Dara arrives, looking for booty.

[nobilis] Dara says, "Sorry; bounced."

Ri says, "I'm going to stay here. Somebody has to protect the seed. But I can find you if something happens."

Ferris says, "Let's all go to the factory, and stay in a group. I'll bring up the rear if someone else will lead."

Thalia asks (of Ri), "can Savannah stay with you?"

Dara says, "I know the way."

Pete nods, and starts walking.

[nobilis] Dara asks, "What did I miss?"

[nobilis] Pete asks, "Is Savannah the cat mentioned a moment ago?"

Nathan says, "right, I'm coming too"

Thalia squeezes Savannah and drops her down by Ri. "Be good, and stay."

[nobilis] Ferris says, "I think so"

[nobilis] Pete says (to Dara), "We're goign to check out the factory, I think."

Nathan walks behind Pete, making occasional glances up to the sky.

Birralee says, "If everyone else is going I'll go too."

Ri nods. "I can't stop her from leaving... but I can talk to her."

[nobilis] Thalia says (to Pete), "it's a cat I have been carrying around"

Ferris sweeps his big arms, herding everyone forward.

Thalia slings her bow and bag

[nobilis] Ri says, "(Ri is the rural chancel landlord, btw. :-)"

MonkeyKing bounces along, since the gang seems to be moving on the warpath

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "do i have arrows with my bow?"

[nobilis] Ri says, "Sure."

[nobilis] Birralee says, "aha"

Thalia puts the quiver of arrows in her bag

[nobilis] Pete has suspicions about the other landlord too...

Thalia follows Dara

Ferris says (to MonkeyKing), "if something attacks the kid, rip its throat out"

Dara leads the way to the factory.

MonkeyKing (to Ferris) bares his teeth

Ferris says, "that's the spirit"

[nobilis] Birralee says, "the other landlord is going to say 'Hi! Sorry I didn't greet you, but I was busy playing Delvyn.'"

[nobilis] Nathan says, "ha ha ha"

MonkeyKing makes as much noise as possible, jumping against cars, rattling railings and knocking over bins

Birralee keeps making little growly noises deep in his throat.

Ferris looks for a big piece of metal along the way, like a tire iron or a pipe or something, that he can pick up

(From Ri) That's a lot of noise. It sounds like a gang of monkeys is tromping... across the park? around the park?

MonkeyKing shoots up a tree to get a better view

[nobilis] Dara asks, "Are they threatening?"

[nobilis] GM says, "Big pieces of metal are easy to find."

Thalia asks (of Granola), "um. you got friends coming to join us?"

[nobilis] GM says, "(No, that's you guys making noise. :-)"

[nobilis] GM exclaims, "(Supermonkey Noise!"

MonkeyKing says, "RAR"

[nobilis] Dara says, "Heh."

Thalia says, "amazing how one monkey can make such a racket"

[nobilis] GM asks, "But are you walking across the park or around?"

Nathan says (to Ferris), "I guess I should find one of those too"

[nobilis] Pete asks, "Most direct route?"

Nathan says (to Ferris), "not that I'd know what to do with it if we run into problems"

[nobilis] Dara says, "Directly to the factory, whichever way that takes us."

[nobilis] GM says, "Through the park, yay."

[nobilis] Dara says, "Uh-oh."

[nobilis] Pete exclaims, "Around, I mean! Around!"

Ferris says, "do that twinkly starry thing again, only with more oomph"

[nobilis] Nathan says (to MonkeyKing), "if we're all drowned by rusalkas, this is all your fault"

[nobilis] Dara asks, "What are rusalkas?"

Nathan says, "hrm"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "oh, we're going through the park? I figured big pieces of metal would be in the city part"

Nathan says, "that might be better, you're right"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "but I guess debris might be strewn"

[nobilis] Pete says, "Goth nyads."

[nobilis] Ferris says, "also, I am exceptionally good at finding big pieces of metal all of a sudden"

Nathan stares at his hand, and silver flickers over it briefly

(From GM) You set off deeper into the park, acquiring long bits of metal easily; Ferris seems to know just where to look. Deeper in the park is... forest. And when you look over your shoulder, the city is gone. Only meadowland stretches behind you. The factory still looms over the forest, though

[nobilis] Nathan says, "you go "beep beep beep" when pointed at one"

MonkeyKing brandishes his metal staff ferociously

Thalia strings her bow

[Crows-Nest] GM says, "I like the picture, Thalia"

Ferris keeps trying to sense out where the bad things are

[nobilis] Birralee laughs.

Nathan says, "...er"

Nathan asks, "no city, hunh?"

Birralee asks, "Was the city where the hos-pit-al was?"

Ferris asks, "The park didn't used to be this big did it?"

Thalia says, "my high school team is a championship team, but i have never used archery in order to keep myself safe"

Thalia says (to Ferris), "i have never been in this part of the city"

(From GM) Dara and Ferris both get a sense of something... bad in the forest. A blind spot, along with a number of things not native to the chancel.

Nathan says (to Birralee), "well, I don't think any of this was here"

Birralee exclaims, "This is all so very new!"

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "would a realm of 2 get this feeling?"

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "or is it the city people, realm 2?"

MonkeyKing does a somersault in the air

[nobilis] GM says, "rural natives at realm 2 would, yes."

Thalia shivers nervously

[nobilis] Birralee says, "it's why I've been so nervous"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "are we walking closer to the bad stuff? well, Dara is leading, so presumably she'd not walk directly into what she senses as dangerous"

Dara says, "Hmm, this isn't my home any more. But something is threatening here, too."

[nobilis] Nathan says, "unless she was, you know, heedstrong and impulsive"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "aiee"

[nobilis] Dara asks, "It's a different threat than the one in the city?"

[nobilis] GM says, "It's one of the threats you sensed in the city."

Ferris says, "the suspense is killin' me"

Thalia asks, "is something following us?"

Ferris takes a test swing at a nearby tree and nearly knocks it over

MonkeyKing exclaims, "COME OUT BIG NASTIES! YOU 'FRAID!"

Ferris says (to Thalia), "I think it's more up ahead, lyin' in wait"

MonkeyKing beats a bush into submission.

Nathan says, "Well, at least we outnumber it. Maybe."

(From GM) Actually, the enemy-- enemies? are moving ahead of you. Perhaps to the same location you are?

Ferris says, "Maybe we need to hurry."

Thalia says (to Ferris), "should we be quieter? (pointed look at Granola)"

Pete says, "I can hurry."

Dara says, "Drat, I wish there was a faster way to get to the damned factory."

Ferris says (to Thalia), "I don't think it makes any difference"

Pete walks faster. Much faster.

Thalia asks, "can berry dig us a tunnel to the factory?"

Nathan says, "I think I can run"

Dara jogs forward again.

Nathan starts trying.

Ferris says, "I'm faster than I ever was"

Thalia jogs

MonkeyKing scampers along as fast as he can go

Birralee says (to Thalia), "I'm not that good of a digger."

Nathan falls over.

Nathan says, "Whoah"

[nobilis] Pete asks, "What's the highest aspect that won't leave anyone behind?"

Nathan says, "Ok, let's try that again"

Nathan picks himself up and starts running a bit more sedately

[nobilis] Nathan asks, "is anyone aspect 0?"

Birralee exclaims, "Hey! I have short legs!"

[Crows-Nest] Thalia says, "star boy is a clutz"

[nobilis] Dara says, "I'm 2."

[nobilis] Birralee says, "I'm 1"

[nobilis] Nathan says, "ok, Ferris is too heavy to carry"

[nobilis] GM says, "NOw sounds like a good time for Thalia to find her hooves."

[nobilis] Nathan says, "but we can go at aspect 1"

[nobilis] Ferris says (to gm), "ooh"

Thalia says, "um, guys, can we stop? i feel really weird"

Pete asks, "Hmm?"

Thalia says, "i know i have been saying that all day, but ..."

Dara turns to look at Thalia.

Thalia says, "i feel like something inside is stretching"

Nathan stops, more gracefully this time

Dara says, "Do you need someone to carry..."

Ferris stops, bringing up the rear.

Dara's eyes widen.

Thalia clutches her arms against her waist and bends over.

Ferris says, "I hope she's not a werewolf"

[Crows-Nest] GM says, "No, those are later."

Thalia gasps through the pain, "me too. me too."

Pete says, "There's no such thi-- er."

Ferris stares nervously behind, making sure nothing's back there

Pete looks at Birralee and Monkey, shrugs.

Birralee says, "wolves! I remember them howling at home"

[Crows-Nest] Ferris says, "oh. swell."

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "do i have to play the entire transformation myself? or do we get a GM voiceover?"

[nobilis] Birralee says, "IN A WORLD where Thalia writhes in pain...."

(From GM) It hurts, and then suddenly, there's a snapping sound and there's no more pain.

[nobilis] Dara laughs.

Thalia says, "it doesn't hurt anymore"

(From GM) And something else stands there.

Thalia says, "i feel like, i remember something"

Ferris says, "whoo-ee"

Pete exclaims, "Behind you!"

Thalia looks down at herself

Birralee exclaims, "You have six legs!"

Thalia says, "Ah. that's what I remember"

[Crows-Nest] Ferris says, "ha ha behind you"

[Crows-Nest] Ferris says, "that's excellent"

Thalia tests out her hooves

Birralee says, "I bet that's handy."

Thalia says, "I am actually a centaur."

MonkeyKing exclaims, "Wah!"

Nathan says, "wow"

Birralee moves away from the hooves.

Ferris asks, "'oh, now I remember'??"

Pete asks, "Is *anyone* here a human being?"

Nathan says, "now there's something we don't see every day"

Nathan says, "I hope"

MonkeyKing bounds up onto Thalia's back, bounces off again

Nathan says (to Pete), "*I'm* -- er -- well, ok, I'm not sure"

Thalia canters in place and laughs

Thalia says, "Oh wow, it's great to return to this body"

Ferris feels danger again.

Ferris says, "I really think we need to get to the factory before the bad guys do."

[nobilis] Pete says, "So, if I carry Birralee, and Thalia carries Ferris, we can make just about Aspect 2 speed, probably."

[nobilis] Dara says, "[OK, gotta go get Sara from the store--back in 5]"

Thalia says (to Ferris), "hop on"

Pete says, "Right."

Pete scoops up the short-legged thing that's been lagging behind.

Ferris hops on.

Ferris says, "Thanks. Hope you don't mind..."

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says, "(thunk)"

Birralee says, "oooh"

Thalia says (to Ferris), "I will try to make this a smooth ride, but you know, I have to get used to these hooves"

Birralee tries not to wriggle too much.

Nathan says, "right, let's run"

MonkeyKing scampers round and round the group.

Ferris tries to hold on carefully.

Pete takes off.

Thalia starts off at a gallop

Ferris leans into the wind

Thalia says (to Ferris), "just put your arms around my waist. Like you are hugging me"

Ferris says, "Gotcha"

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says, "woo woo"

[nobilis] MonkeyKing says, "I imagine Aspect 2 speed for a horse is somewhat higher than Aspect 2 speed for a human"

Pete stops paying attention to whether or not his feet are on the ground.

Ferris says, "I used to ride horses, back when I was a kid --"

(From GM) Man, it's dark in the forest. How could this have grown up so quickly? Wasn't it just a grove of trees with a gazebo once? Where the hell is the gazebo? And what's that gutteral singing upahead? It sounds like... a hiking song?

Birralee asks, "Can all food bringers float like you?"

MonkeyKing screeches a louder song.

Thalia says, "whee. this is fun"

(From GM) The singing gets louder and then stops, turning into orders shouted in the same gutteral tongue.

Pete says, "Huh. Maybe they can, now."

Nathan asks, "er, do you guys understand what they're saying?"

[Crows-Nest] Birralee says, "if they start singing 'where there's a whip, there's a way' I'm running"

Ferris concentrates on not falling off.

(From GM) And then there's silence. A waiting silence. They're just ahead.

[Crows-Nest] Ferris says, "yay"

Ferris says, "whoa"

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "as nobilis, don't we understand all languages?"

MonkeyKing whacks a tree as hard as he can with his whackin' staff

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "or was that an inky-perk on the last game?"

[nobilis] Pete says, "I think all normal languages."

[nobilis] Nathan says, "well, I wasn't sure quite what we understood yet"

[nobilis] GM says, "Bones go crunch! Bones are sweet! We like bones and we like meat! That sort of thing. And then they heard you and said, "Here they come, get ready!""

Ferris says (to Thalia), "either slow down or get your bow & arrow ready"

Nathan says, "...er, never mind."

Nathan says, "I'm not sure I wanted to understand that."

Pete flies on through, at full speed.

Thalia slows to a canter and raises her bow, with the arrow notched

Thalia asks (of ferris), "you have your metal pipe?"

Ferris prepares to club something to death.

Ferris says, "Yep"

Thalia looks around carefully while continuing her pace.

Nathan slows down a bit as he runs, looking at the trees up ahead.

Thalia asks (of Granola), "see anything from the trees?"

MonkeyKing sniffs

(From GM) The... empty space has gone, but the invaders are still ahead, scattered in the trees, twelve of them.

[nobilis] Dara says, "[back]"

(From GM) And man, they reek.

Thalia asks, "shoot or hold my fire?"

Birralee wrinkles his snout.

(From GM) They smell like they eat... people.

MonkeyKing says, "COME AND GET IT BITCHES"

Ferris shouts, "YAAHRRRR!"

Ferris says, "I say shoot"

[Crows-Nest] Thalia says, "oh good, i am safe then"

Thalia shoots at the nearest one

[Crows-Nest] Birralee says, "so MonkeyKing, Thalia and I are going to have a fun adventure without the rest of you."

[nobilis] Pete asks, "Any resistance to flying past them?"

(From GM) There's a flood of gutteral battlecries, and the twelve ogres burst from hiding. One falls over immediately with Thalia's arrow between his eyes.

Nathan . o O ( hmm, twelve of them, canni -- hey, how do I know that? )

[Crows-Nest] Pete asks, "Like they could bite through Ferris?"

Thalia notches another arrow, lets it fly

Ferris jumps off of Thalia and runs

[nobilis] GM says, "You can whoosh past them, yes."

MonkeyKing drops out of the trees and lays about him with teeth and whacking-staff

Thalia says, "whee, I am better than I have ever been"

Birralee's ears go back and he screams at them as loud as he can.

Ferris attempts to crush ogre skulls with big metal club

Nathan says, "Right, er, -- come on then, I'm ready for you. I guess."

Thalia says (to Nathan), "(shouting) You guys run past, let the monkey do some damage."

Dara keeps running, too.

Nathan jabs his metal stick in a vaguely menacing fashion.

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "hey, a genie has no corporeal body - so he can't die, right?"

[Crows-Nest] Ferris says (to nathan), "hee hee"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "or rather, be injured"

[nobilis] Dara says, "Not in smoke form."

[nobilis] GM asks, "So who is fighting and who is trying to dodge and keep running?"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "I am fightin'"

Thalia shoots at the 3rd guy (assuming the second died)

[nobilis] Pete says, "I think I can unless I use shapeshifting, which would probably make me drop Birralee."

[nobilis] Birralee says, "Pete still has me, but I'm doing the scream to chase them off"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "fighting is such an ugly word. I am having target practice"

[nobilis] Birralee says, "since clearly they'd be competition for any food I might actually find"

[nobilis] Pete says, "I am assuming that everyone else is dodging, and thus am not stopping to fight."

[nobilis] Ferris says, "and dara is dodging"

[nobilis] Nathan says, "I slowed down to the end of the group to see what happens -- if other people stop, I am charging in with my stick, otherwise I'm running"

[nobilis] Pete says, "(But I will turn around if the others don't catch up after a few moments.)"

[nobilis] MonkeyKing says, "I'm fightin', obviously."

Thalia shoots 4th guy

[nobilis] GM asks, "So, monkey, ferris, thalia, screaming devil?"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "it turns out the rural folks are the ass-kickers in this party"

Thalia asks, "wasn't someone looking for some meet?"

Ferris CRUNCH SWACK THUDDD

[nobilis] Nathan says (to GM), "I guess me too"

[nobilis] Birralee says (to Ferris), "you are the Iron Thing"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "Iron Warden, actually"

[nobilis] Thalia says (to ferris), "iron thing! you make my heart sing!"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "hooray"

[nobilis] Birralee laughs.

[nobilis] Pete asks, "'You make everthing... rusty'?"

Nathan jab poke nervous prod

MonkeyKing bite WALLOP scratch

Ferris shouts various profanities

[Crows-Nest] Thalia says, "today is a good day. I made both Rob and Sargent laugh"

(From GM) Monkey discovers that they're fast... inhumanly fast. But he's faster. Ferris finds that they're faster than him, but he hits a lot harder. Thalia shoots fast, but they don't always stay down when her arrows feather them-- it sometimes takes 3 or more. Nathan is as fast as them, but no faster.

Birralee *cough* eeeeeEEEEEE *cough*

Thalia shoots some more

(From GM) And the scream is, obviously, providing a painful, inescapable serenade to the ogres.

Nathan exclaims, "Argh, back off, you!"

Thalia . o O (to ) ( i am gonna need some steady supply of arrows at this rate )

MonkeyKing bounds from an ogre's shoulders, delivering a blow to the skull as a take-off boost

Nathan's metal pipe starts glowing silver again as he swings it.

Dara . o O ( Man, these are great friends to have here. )

Thalia shoot shoot shoot

[Crows-Nest] Ferris says (to nathan), "ooh, cool"

(From GM) This is... both harder and easier than it should be. The go down and they get back up again. Finally, there's only two left, fighting back to back, fending off the monkey.

MonkeyKing makes a valiant attempt to hamstring an ogre with his teeth

Dara senses how many threats are left, accounting for the ogres.

[nobilis] GM says, "After this fight is over, y'all can do Aspect miracles."

Nathan exclaims (at ogre), "arr! right! get out of here!"

Ferris, feelin' no pain, prepares to finish off the last ones.

[nobilis] GM says, "(like, spending AMP ones)"

Thalia aims for one, and sends 4 arrows in succession

Nathan waves his pipe in a threatening manner

MonkeyKing jumps into a tree and drops down on top of them, whirling staff around

Thalia asks, "hey, do we want to keep one alive for questioning?"

Birralee says, "that was louder than before. and my jaws hurt."

Ferris clubs the one who just took 4 arrows

Pete asks, "Did we lose a few?"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "man this is violent"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "we are just waiting for the fight to end"

[nobilis] Nathan says, "*I* was just defending us"

Pete says, "(to Dara, other dodgers)"

Dara says (to those_still_nearby), "There are still three threats here--the ogres were just a distraction. Two empty spaces, and something unnatural."

(From GM) One of the pair has four arrows in him and is clubbed! The other one straightens up as the monkey drops on him. Does the monkey finish him off?

Dara says, "I'll know more once we reach the factory."

[Crows-Nest] Thalia says, "it's a cliffhanger!"

[Crows-Nest] GM says, "Nah, I'm just letting him not if he wants to."

[Crows-Nest] Ferris says, "yeah, like it's a mystery what he'd choose"

[Crows-Nest] Birralee says, "the audience gets to vote"

MonkeyKing just breaks one of his kneecaps.

[Crows-Nest] Ferris says, "I am wrong!"

Thalia asks (of Berry), "does ogre meat work as fresh meat?"

MonkeyKing asks, "Yay! We win! Now where are the women at?"

Pete swings back, to see what's holding the rest of them up.

[Crows-Nest] Ferris says, "ha ha ha"

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says, "bites his znokkis off"

Nathan says (to Pete), "er, hi -- we got a little sidetracked"

[Crows-Nest] Ferris says, "ouch, right in the znokkis"

Ferris straightens up, feeling pumped.

Thalia goes back and yanks the usable arrows back out of the ogres, cleans them, and puts them back in her quiver

[nobilis] GM says, "(afk a minute again, I'm sorry)"

Thalia says, "Arrows aren't cheap you know"

Nathan looks at his pipe, then down at the ogres.

Ferris asks (of Thalia), "can I hitch a ride again?"

Nathan says, "Erf."

Thalia says, "pile on friend"

Ferris says, "much obliged."

Nathan says, "I'm not sure I like this new setup as much any more"

Ferris climbs carefully back on.

MonkeyKing kicks the downed ogre. "Where are they?"

[nobilis] Pete says, "They are if you have Domain 4 in Archery, I bet."

Nathan says (to MonkeyKing), "I think these guys are all you got"

MonkeyKing exclaims, "But we won!"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "*that*'s what I can create if I had a domain 4"

[nobilis] Dara says, "Heh."

[nobilis] Thalia says, "i couldn't figure out what use a high domain would be"

MonkeyKing says, "Why were they fighting if they didn't have any w... you humans are fucked up."

Thalia says (to Granola), "they aren't humans"

Thalia says, "or rather, weren't"

Birralee takes an experimental bite of one. "Pfah. Pfah pfah pfah."

Nathan says, "you don't want to eat carnivores"

Nathan says, "find a, I dunno, rabbit or something"

Pete says (to Birralee), "If we can find a McDonald's where everyone isn't dead, I'll introduce you to a cheeseburger."

(From GM) The ogre looks resolute. "Death is all I deserve for failing!"

Thalia tries to think of a carnivore that tastes good and fails

Thalia says (to Pete), "maybe we can find a vegan ogre for Berry"

Thalia asks (of ogre), "who sent you?"

Nathan asks (of ogre), "failing? this was a *job*?"

MonkeyKing growls threateningly.

[nobilis] Pete says, "Hee hee. Almost three whole hours before we got to the first traditional NPC interrogation scene."

[nobilis] Ferris says, "wow, it's 3 already? holy smokes"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "but think! we got lots of transformations"

(From GM) The ogre coughs up blood from where one arrow punctured an innard before he yanked it out. "Of course, a job. We came at the bidding of my master. Your master has displeased him."

Birralee licks his paws and cleans himself, especially his whiskers.

Nathan asks, "Your master? Who's that?"

Pete asks, "Our 'master'?"

[nobilis] MonkeyKing says, "and now, to shake NPC until plot coupon falls out"

Thalia aside, "I say we don't kill him after we are done - since he *wants* to die, let's not oblige him."

Thalia says (to Pete), "well, you are a genie. Obviously you have a master"

Nathan says, "maybe he's freelance"

(From GM) The ogre looks extremely scornful. "Lord Entropy is our master."

Birralee asks, "Does he have better-tasting food?"

Pete says (to Thalia), "I hadn't really thought about it... I am holding my own bottle, though."

Nathan says, "hrm"

Thalia says, "okay, I studied Entropy in chemistry. Entropy is not a person"

Nathan says, "he doesn't seem like a nice guy"

Thalia says (to ogre), "tell the truth"

Nathan says, "well, it's probably an alias"

Thalia says, "oh right"

Pete says, "'Entropy' sounds like a villain from a bad comic book. Like 'Lord Darkstar'."

Ferris says, "I say we let his master take care of him"

Nathan says, "it's not any weirder than 'Jehiela'"

[nobilis] Nathan says, "hee hee"

Nathan says, "yeah"

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "can a centaur turn red from embarassment?"

MonkeyKing is bored of this already and is using a dead ogre's stomach as a trampoline

[nobilis] Pete says, "Presumably only on bits not fuzzy."

Nathan says (to ogre), "you, uh, tell your master he should buzz off and leave us alone"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "she can blush in all the right places"

Nathan exclaims (at ogre), "now get out of here!"

(From GM) The ogre coughs again. "If you leave me, I will heal. And I will carry your message." The ogre can't climb to his feet, because his kneecaps were broken.

[Crows-Nest] Ferris asks, "what was nathan before all this happened?"

[Crows-Nest] Nathan asks, "job-wise?"

[Crows-Nest] Ferris says, "yeah"

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says, "city bureaucrat"

Thalia asks, "do we want him to heal?"

[Crows-Nest] Ferris says, "ah, heh heh"

[Crows-Nest] Thalia says, "that explains a lot"

Nathan shrugs.

Pete shrugs. "As long as he leaves."

Nathan says, "he said he'd take the message back"

Ferris asks, "I think we need to keep going. where's Dara?"

MonkeyKing exclaims, "Let's goooooo!"

Pete says, "Up ahead, I think."

Nathan says, "yeah, let's get moving again"

Thalia says (to Ferris), "hang tight"

Ferris asks, "What, alone?"

Ferris says, "let's go!"

Nathan says, "there's probably worse to come"

Pete goes after her.

[Crows-Nest] GM says, "Ogre :. o 0 (Hah hah! I survived, my brothers! I am superior! I will eat you and get stronger! I will get promoted and not be sent on missions quite as stupid as this!)"

Thalia canters ahead, calling, "Dara!"

[Crows-Nest] Dara laughs.

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says, "hee hee"

[Crows-Nest] Thalia says, "ha"

[Crows-Nest] Birralee says, "someone better tell him his brothers taste ass-nasty"

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says, "hee hee"

Dara is nowhere to be seen, but the factory still looms ahead of you.

Ferris does that realm divination thing he's starting to get a handle on

Thalia asks, "Dara didn't go inside, do you think?"

Pete says, "Why not? I would."

(From GM) You break out of the forest and there's a curve to the land ahead, as if there's a line... an edge.

[nobilis] Ferris says, "hey, I can do a preservation on my big iron club to make it tougher"

(From GM) A gulf.

[nobilis] GM says, "Yep"

Thalia says, "whoa"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "cool"

Thalia rears to a stop, doing an impresshive showing of two hooves

Birralee asks, "Is it normal for the world to stop like that?"

Nathan says, "hunh, interesting"

Pete says, "No."

(From GM) The factory is on the other side.

Birralee says, "Oh."

Nathan says, "it seems like I should be -- over there."

Pete looks down.

[nobilis] Ferris says, "maybe I subconsciously already did that in the heat of battle without thinking about it"

Nathan starts walking forward.

(From GM) Down is... nothing. A swirling white nothingness

Pete says, "Only one thing for it."

Pete jumps over.

Birralee exclaims, "eeeeee hold on to me!"

Thalia says (to Ferris), "you might want to hang on and close your eyes"

Nathan exclaims, "Wait for meeeeeee!"

Thalia asks (of Nathan), "do you want me to come back for you?"

Ferris holds on tight.

Nathan says, "(too late, already jumped)"

Thalia says, "assuming i make it across the first time"

Ferris closes his eyes.

Thalia backs away slowly

Pete sets Birralee down safely once he's on the far side.

(From GM) Pete can fly; crossing the gulf is not a problem for him. Nathan... can not fly.

MonkeyKing is suddenly a big cloud of... very small monkeys.

Ferris says (to thalia), "give it all you'ev got."

[nobilis] Nathan says, "ha ha ha"

Pete exclaims (at Nathan), "Woah, watch out!"

Thalia starts running fast and at the last minute, leaps over the gulf

Pete swoops down to catch Nathan.

MonkeyCloud buzzes out over the gulf

Thalia (passing by Nathan as he falls?)

[nobilis] Ferris asks, "monkeycloud?!??"

Birralee exclaims, "eee eee eee!"

(From GM) The gulf is very wide. It's a level 3 Aspect miracle to leap it if you can't fly.

[nobilis] Nathan says, "mmhmm"

[nobilis] Pete says, "Nathan and Thalia are leaping into and/or across an empty gulf filled with swirling nothingness."

[nobilis] Pete says (to Birralee), "(Already did -- scroll back.)"

Thalia says, "oh no, I am not gonna make it, scramble panick"

[nobilis] (from Ferris) GM says, "Tune in next week!"

[nobilis] Birralee says, "aha"

josh_g disappears through an invisible gap in the MUD. You think you may have heard the sounds of chatting before the gap closed again.

[nobilis] Nathan says, "hee hee"

Thalia claws air with hooves

[nobilis] Birralee says, "I couldn't tell because my eyes were still closed"

Birralee opens his eyes and sees he already is on the ground.

[nobilis] Thalia asks (of GM), "1AMP spent yet?"

(From GM) Thalia stretches out... and catches the edge of the other side with her hands.

Pete tries to grab Thalia too, while still holding Nathan.

Ferris doesn't look doesn't look doesn't look

MonkeyCloud grabs the centaur from all sides.

(From GM) Supporting a horse's body with her hands... and Ferris... better get help now!

Thalia says (to Pete), "get on the ground and help pull me up"

[Crows-Nest] Dara asks, "Can I do a realm miracle now?"

Thalia says (to Granola), "help meee"

[nobilis] GM asks, "Um, Wwhere is Nathan?"

[nobilis] Alex says (to GM), "Awwwk! Word on the street is that Nathan is Nathan Eady, which is Jonadab."

[Crows-Nest] GM says, "Okay."

[nobilis] Ferris says (to alex), "whoa"

[nobilis] Alex exclaims (at Ferris), "Awwwk! No parse found!"

Pete tosses Nathan onto solid ground, and grabs Thalia's hands.

[nobilis] Birralee asks (of Nathan), "JONADAB?"

[nobilis] Alex says (to Birralee), "Awwwk! Word on the street is that jonadab is someone who responds to every thread. Six months later."

(From Dara) Suddenly, the cliff under the flailing party sprouts a shelf.

[nobilis] Birralee asks, "you're not the power of blinding white?"

[nobilis] Nathan says, "I am -- ooof -- just tossed onto the cliff"

[Crows-Nest] Thalia says, "this feels suspiciously like the time i was hanging off the side of a canyon wall with ivan, sandy and katre trying to keep me from dying"

[Crows-Nest] Thalia says (to GM), "you've been reading my diary!"

Nathan looks around.

Nathan asks, "shelf? er? what?"

[Crows-Nest] Ferris says, "but you survived! and so will we!"

(From GM) Okay. On this side of the cliff, there's a chain. It's huge. It has a grappling hook.

Ferris grabs it

[Crows-Nest] Pete wonders if picking up a horse is much easier than throwing a motorcycle.

(From GM) It's all coiled up, and anchored at the end to the land beneath you.

Thalia says (to Granola&co), "thanks"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "I'm having trouble picturing this chain exactly"

[nobilis] Nathan says, "it's coiled up on my side of the cliff"

Nathan exclaims, "Here! Chain!"

Ferris says, "You don't have to tell me twice!"

Nathan pushes the chain to the edge

Nathan exclaims, "Look out below!"

Nathan shoves it over the edge

Ferris does whatever it takes to get the chain in his hands.

Pete and the monkey, presumably, manage to get most of Thalia onto solid ground between them.

Thalia says (to ferris), "you are a magnet. iron comes to you"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "what's with the shelf? I'm all confused"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "Dara did a realm miracle"

[nobilis] Ferris asks, "so we're on a shelf and nathan's dangling a chain down to us?"

[nobilis] GM asks, "I'm a bit confused right now myself. (dara made the shelf). Which side are each of you on, factory side or forest side?"

[nobilis] Nathan says, "right"

[nobilis] Nathan says, "Pete tossed me onto the factory side"

[nobilis] GM says, "Okay"

[nobilis] Ferris asks, "isn't everyone on the factory side in some fashion?"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "all of us are on factory side"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "just some of us on the shelf below"

[nobilis] GM says, "Okay"

[nobilis] Pete says (to Ferris), "Yeah, I thought so."

MonkeyCloud heads back up to the top of the cliff

[nobilis] Pete says, "And since two of us are Aspect 3, I'm assuming getting from the shelf to the land is trivial at this point."

(From GM) So, this chain that Nathan shoves off is huge. It has a hook. It looks like it could be thrown if somebody were strong or into iron... but right now it makes a handy ladder for two-leggeds to scramble up.

Thalia looks at the chain and then at her hooves

Ferris says, "I don't want to go up without figuring out how to get Thalia up"

(From GM) Monkey could lift Thalia up and then flit up himself

Nathan says, "you could wrap the chain around her, maybe"

Ferris says, "I guess we could put the chain around you and hook it to itself in a loop"

(From GM) Or that

Nathan says, "er, if you were really strong"

Ferris says, "It'd be uncomfortable."

Nathan says, "but I guess some of you are"

Ferris says, "Or if we had a crazy supermonkey"

Thalia says, "I have hands. I can just hang on to the chain"

MonkeyKing says (to Thalia), "and big arms to carry a whole horse! no more chin-ups for you young lady"

(From GM) Thalia's arms pull an Aspect 7 bow!

GM says, "Er, 6. Ignore me"

[nobilis] Nathan says, "hee hee"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "aspect 6 bow? whoa"

[nobilis] Thalia says (to ferris), "yeah. i couldn't afford one that can shoot the sun down, so i had to downgrade"

MonkeyKing gets ready for some haulin'

(From GM) Okay, you all get to the top. There's this chain with a hook, which looks rather long. There's also a street a bit aways, in front of a big factory. There are people in the street, looking bemused, wandering around.

[nobilis] Ghogg says, "hee hee"

Thalia . o O ( time to lose some weight )

Ferris waits for Thalia to get hauled up.

Birralee exclaims, "live food bringers!"

[nobilis] MonkeyKing says (to Thalia), "the Excellent I can *so* kick your ass"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "oh, oops. ok, we're all up"

Nathan says, "hey, more people"

Nathan exclaims, "who aren't yet trying to kill us!"

Dara says (to group), "There you are! Hope the shelf helped."

Birralee finds a person. "Excuse me, but do you have some food?"

Dara says, "Let's go in."

Thalia says (to Dara), "thanks much"

Nathan asks (of Dara), "wait, that was you?"

Thalia looks up at the factory

Dara says, "Uh, yeah."

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "windows on this particular factory?"

Ferris says, "Are we all here? good."

[Crows-Nest] Dara asks, "Can I presume that nothingness is threat #1?"

Pete asks (of People), "Hey. Are we outisde of whatever happened back there?"

(From GM) The person, a man in a beat-up business suit, says, "Uh..." and pulls a candy bar from his pocket before proffering it to Birralee.

MonkeyKing says, "CANDY"

Birralee exclaims, "Thank you!"

Ferris stares at the black smoke.

[nobilis] Dara says, "(or I could ask here)"

Birralee takes the bar in his mouth.

[nobilis] Ferris asks, "is there iron in that smoke?"

[Crows-Nest] GM says, "Nope! The nothingness is the barrier between your chancel and theirs. It's sort of like an open wound right now, but not actually what you sensed before"

Birralee downs the candy bar in several gulps.

MonkeyKing cries

[nobilis] GM says (to Ferris), "Some."

Ferris says, "That's funny smoke."

Thalia gives Granola a fruit bar

MonkeyKing scarfs it down.

MonkeyKing exclaims (at Thalia), "you've got more, haven't ya? You're holding out on me!"

Thalia looks guilty

Thalia says, "only for emergencies!"

(From GM) There are windows on the factory, some boarded up. A few people are prying the boards off the ground floor windows.

MonkeyKing leaps onto Thalia's back and picks her pockets

Ferris asks, "anybody have a plan?"

Pete says (to People), "Is there a hospital here? There are a lot of hurt people back in the city."

Thalia shrugs her shoulders and her horse part of the body, and watches gleefully as Granola tumbles to the ground

Nathan says, "the plan is to go into the factory -- that's what Dara said"

Ferris says, "She did? let's go, then"

(From GM) The people give Pete a worried look. "Um, we just woke up here," one of them says. "Some of us... came out of the ground."

MonkeyKing pulls Thalia's tail and scuttles away giggling

Ferris yells at the people prying the boards. "Hey! What are you doing?"

Pete says, "Oh."

Nathan says, "they're making space for us to go in, I guess"

[Crows-Nest] Thalia says, "hey, didn't you just brag about having a tail earlier? Well i have one too!"

Nathan helps pull off some boards.

(From GM) The people prying the boards off look defensive. "A woman came by here and told us this place had to open up."

[Crows-Nest] Pete says, "And neither one of you is wearing pants."

Thalia says (to ferris), "let them. i won't feel trapped if some of the windows were open"

Ferris asks, "What woman? What did she look like?"

Ferris says, "...as if I can't guess"

(From GM) People say, "Um... God?"

GM says, "Or maybe not God, but we wouldn't say that to her face.""

Pete says, "So, not Dara."

Nathan waits til he's cleared enough of the window to get in, and then climbs in himself

Thalia says, "woot, i like this religion"

[nobilis] GM says, "Dara said hi, I thought."

Pete enters as well.

[nobilis] GM says, "So she's around"

Birralee, feeling somewhat refreshed and even buzzed, follows.

Thalia looks for a bigger window, hole, or even a door

(From GM) One of the people cautions, "But the boards keep growing over the windows again. So be careful!"

Dara has disconnected.

Dara has connected.

Dara walks the plank to adventure. Arr!

Dara arrives, looking for booty.

[nobilis] Pete says, "Yeah, Pete was just responding to the 'um... God'."

[nobilis] Nathan says, "there she is around"

Ferris asks, "Are there nails in the boards? what's up with them?"

[nobilis] Dara says, "Bouncy me."

Thalia says (to Dara), "you going in with them? (into the factory?)"

Thalia points to the window where Nathan and Berry entered

Pete exclaims, "Hallo...!"

Dara says, "Yup."

Dara asks, "You wanna come?"

(From GM) The boards fly up from the ground and pound themselves agianst the window again behind Nathan and Berry. Iron nails, yes.

Thalia says (to Dara), "i need to find a bigger hole to get in"

Ferris talks to the nails. "What gives?"

Thalia says (to Dara), "I will find you guys inside"

[nobilis] Pete says, "(And me, I presume.)"

Dara concentrates, tries to make a door into the factory.

Ferris will only go in once everyone else is in.

(From GM) The nails look unhappy. "Boss, we're worn out. But we have to keep doing this."

Thalia tests some of the walls to see if she could use her hooves to make a hole

Thalia says, "ah let's give it a shot"

Ferris says, "hmm."

Thalia pounds her hooves against the wall. *THUD* *THUD* *THUD*

Thalia . o O ( ow feet ow feet ow feet )

[Crows-Nest] Ferris says, "hee"

MonkeyKing exclaims, "Stand well back! I escaped the worst prison in all the world! No wall can hold me!"

Ferris stands well back.

[nobilis] Pete asks, "Is there any light inside?"

MonkeyKing charges the wall and pounds it with his whackin' bar.

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says, "it's the count of monkey christo"

Dara has disconnected.

Dara walks the plank to adventure. Arr!

Dara arrives, looking for booty.

[nobilis] Dara says, "Bah"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "haven't missed much"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "maga just went nuts"

[nobilis] GM says, "Faint light inside. There's something... powerful in there. Not bad, except in a wounded animal way."

[nobilis] Ferris says, "he is the aspect 3 monkey king"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "also, sunset in 10 minutes"

(From GM) Monkey's pounding can get a window open for a bit.

Pete looks around the inside of the building.

MonkeyKing leaps inside

Birralee says, "If I were smaller I could get inside"

Ferris says, "everybody in!"

Thalia enters

Birralee asks, "Someone push me?"

Nathan extends his finger, and it glows silver.

Ferris shove

Birralee exclaims, "oof!"

Ghogg arrives, looking for booty.

[nobilis] GM says, "we're getting to a stopping point, yeah"

Dara says, "Something native is resisting me."

Ferris takes a moment to decide, then crams himself in before the boards come back.

Dara says (to walls), "I'll close up behind! Sheesh. We need to know what's going on."

Nathan follows his feelings to the center

Ferris says, "Nathan, wait up!"

Ferris tromp tromp tromp

Pete follows Nathan.

Nathan says, "(faintly) sorry, it's just there's --"

Pete says, "Nathan seems to have some idea where he's going."

Ferris says, "I know the feeling"

[nobilis] Nathan says, "hee hee"

(From GM) The center is down. Very much down. But before you find the way down, there's a glimmering in the center of the wide-open space. Jeheila is there, and by the light of a faint glow there is something....... enormous behind it

Nathan says, "...whoah."

(From GM) There is a wound in Jeheila's side, but she has his hand clutched protectively over it

[nobilis] Ferris says, "she has his hand? hmm, androgyny"

Pete asks, "It, it's the kid -- are you OK?"

Jeheila says, "You didn't let her in, did you? She keeps banging banging trying to get in but it hurts so much."

Ferris asks, "She...?"

Birralee asks, "Her?"

Nathan asks, "who?"

Pete asks, "Did anyone see a first aid kit?"

Ferris asks, "What's down there with you?"

Jeheila says, "You shouldn't be here either, or them, but I don't care. You can't actually bother me."

Dara looks at the enormous thing behind ner.

(From Jeheila) You realize Jeheila's image is transparent and beyond it are the coils of an enormous snake... shimmering in the light. Unreal.

MonkeyKing exclaims, "WAH! Snake!"

Nathan says (to MonkeyKing), "ssh"

Dara asks (of Jeh), "Can we help?"

Dara asks, "And what's the snake?"

Jeheila says, "Hah! /She/ made me do it. Caught me as I was slipping away, tricked me. So now here /you/ are. Do what you want." It turns half away, still clutching the wound. The locals can sense that the snake is somehow the factory, and somehow Jeheila"

Nathan asks, "do you want us to open up the factory? take the boards off?"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "hmm, failing"

Thalia says, "you know, I need to get out of here, if this place is going to get boarded up"

Pete says (to Nathan), "I think he-- uh, 'he''s trying to keep something *out*."

Thalia heads back to where they entered by

Ferris decides to follow Thalia so she's not off by herself.

Pete asks, "Does this have anything to do with 'Entropy'?"

Thalia says (to Ferris), "sorry, Ferris. I just don't like being in enclosed places"

Jeheila glances up. "She doesn't know what's important anymore. She thinks I'm important. Me. But she has you now, so she doesn't need me. She's insane."

[nobilis] Thalia says, "Yep, that's women"

(From Jeheila) (Thalia can kick a window open if she wants, but she'll have to)

[nobilis] Thalia says, "er #crows"

Pete says, "Who is she"

Thalia gets to the wall and starts pounding away at the window again, her hooves wincing with so much activity

Nathan asks, "which she? the woman we saw in the library?"

Ferris puts his bar to work, trying to help.

Dara walks the plank to adventure. Arr!

Dara arrives, looking for booty.

Jeheila shrugs painfully. "Their soul." It points at Thalia, at monkey, at the devil and Ferris.

[nobilis] Dara says, "Grah"

Birralee asks, "me?"

MonkeyKing asks, "The what now?"

[Crows-Nest] Ferris says, "smrk"

Nathan asks, "(dubiously) they have souls?"

Thalia stands by the open window and glances back just as Jehelia points to her

Pete asks (of Birralee, Monkey, etc), "What did you do to him?"

[nobilis] Dara asks, "Quick recap from my last question?"

MonkeyKing says (to Pete), "I tried to do a dump on his shoes but he was too creepy."

Birralee exclaims, "Me? I didn't do anything!"

Birralee says, "Maybe it was the same person who made you all able to talk today."

[nobilis] Nathan says, "hasn't said anything we can do"

Thalia says (to Pete), "I called him a nut when he plunged his hand in to Nathan's chest"

[nobilis] Dara asks, "Did she say who the snake was?"

Jeheila waves a bloodstained hand. "Go. Find your siblings. If you let her in, she'll try to save me. Stupid. Mad. Mad as a cat. Mas as a monkey. Mad as a rat-thing." Mad laughter.

[nobilis] Nathan says, "we can tell she's the snake"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "the snake is the factory"

[nobilis] Nathan says, "and the factory"

Nathan says, "right, I'm opening this place up"

Birralee says, "Everyone thinks I'm a rat."

[nobilis] Jeheila asks, "And i think we can stop here?"

Birralee says, "I'm not a rat."

Nathan says, "c'mon, give me a hand"

Thalia says (to nathan), "i can do that"

Birralee says, "I am a nocturnal carrion eater from Birralee, Tasmania."

Pete asks, "Wait, who here's a cat?"

Nathan starts prying and pushing boards.

Pete asks (of Birralee), "You're a groundhog, right?"

Thalia says (to Pete), "I left Savannah behind with Ri, if that's what you mean"

Birralee thinks very hard about biting Pete.

Ferris helps Nathan.

Nathan says, "hey, Pete, help me out here"

Dara kneels by Jeheila, takes Jeheila's hand. "You helped me. Let us help you."

[nobilis] Jeheila exclaims, "Okay! We will determine what happens with an assault on the boards next week!"

Nathan says, "this is more in your line, anyway"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "oboy!"

[nobilis] Birralee says, "woo"

[nobilis] Dara exclaims, "Woot!"

Pete says (to Nathan), "Are you sure? It doesn't look like the kid *wants* us to take the boards off."

Thalia goes home.

[nobilis] Pete says, "Mmm."

[nobilis] Nathan says, "woo game"

[nobilis] MonkeyKing says, "nice work Chrys"

[nobilis] Ferris asks, "same time next week?"

[nobilis] Pete says, "Sounds good."

[nobilis] Birralee says, "woot"

[nobilis] Jeheila says, "If somebody will provide me with a log, I will clean it up a bit and send it on to lpsmith. And yes, same time next week, though probably ending a bit earlier."

[nobilis] Dara says, "Excellent."

[nobilis] Birralee says, "fun game"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "right-o"

[nobilis] Jeheila asks, "X and Compromise should be here... who won't be?"

[nobilis] Jeheila exclaims, "Thanks!"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "yeah, good stuff"

[nobilis] MonkeyKing says, "I probably won't make it to that; just assume I whack things"

[nobilis] Ferris says, "I am wondering how the new guys will enter the story"

[nobilis] Dara says (to Jeheila), "I can do the 2-column thing since there's a lot of #interludes at the beginning."
