GM says, "When we last left the intrepid crew of the tangled locus, Thalia was trying to escape the confines of Jehalia's factory (which is located directly above the Realm's Heart, for reference), and Nathan and Pete were indirectly helping her in an attempt to open up the factory. Dara had sat down beside the injured Imperator. Birralee was pondering biting Pete. Ferris was helping Pete and Nathan. Monkey was being Monkey."

[nobilis] Nathan asks, "do durant people need to use special razors?"

[nobilis] Birralee says, "they just have to get out of the light of the yellow sun"

[nobilis] GM says, "Nah, your hair isn't durant."

[nobilis] Jim says, "You can probably shave quickly and easily with a blowtorch, then."

Nathan tugs on a board.

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "belatedly, mm, urusei yatsura"

Nathan says, "stupid nails -- stop going back in"

[nobilis] Xaylia does a little 'kewpies in the attic' dance

Pete says (to Nathan), "Are you sure? It doesn't look like the kid *wants* us to take the boards off."

GM says, "I imagine Thalia is kick-kick-kicking some more. When Nathan and Pete start prying at the boards, Jehelia sags a bit and murmurs something to Dara. The nails and boards stop resisting quite so fiercely, although there are certainly pockets that put up a fight."

Nathan says, "I think he-- er, they-- er, -- anyway, I think there are some mixed feelings going on here"

Birralee says, "This place is strange."

Nathan says, "what we need is to get some light shed on things"

Nathan says (to Birralee), "c'mon, go and, uh, gnaw through some boards"

Birralee says, "They're very high"

Birralee says, "And I am very short, at least compared to everyone else."

[nobilis] Pete says, "(Also, when did Pete start pulling at the boards?)"

[interludes] Jim turns to the international news section, frowns.

Pete says, "We might be just as well off finding out what this building is for first, before we tear down its defenses."

Birralee looks back and forth between Nathan and Pete.

[nobilis] GM says, "You're still working on getting out of the factory."

Thalia arrives, looking for booty.

[nobilis] Pete says, "We're inside the factory. Nathan is trying to convince Birralee and Pete to help him unboard the windows."

Nathan says, "it's, you know -- like one of those psychological things"

[Crows-Nest] Thalia says, "oops wrong room"

[nobilis] GM says, "I've suggested you're kick=kick-kicking"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "that's fine - that's what i was doing last week"

Nathan says, "the building represents the kid's poor relationship with their father, and by opening it up we symbolically -- er, do something or other"

[nobilis] Jim says, "Shame there are nails rather than screws, or Spin would have no problem here. Assuming he knows how to use his abilities."

[nobilis] Birralee says, "Not completely yet, but soon, I'm guessing"

[interludes] Xaylia doesn't like being carried

[interludes] GM says, "The grip loosens and you can easily slide down to walk on your own. You're still in a park, it looks like, and the figure who was carrying you is... well, you're not sure if it's a girl or not. But it looks friendly enough."

Nathan says (to board), "come *on*, open up"

[interludes] Xaylia says (to person), "hello"

[nobilis] Nathan says, "(if I can't convince anyone else to help, I'm going to spend an AMP)"

Birralee says, "Okay, help me up. I'll see what I can do."

[interludes] Xaylia asks, "did I fall asleep? where'd my auntie go?"

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "why aren't birralee and pete helping?"

(From GM) Once Nathan moves to a less resistant part, and directs Thalia towards the same location, you can get a hole large enough for Thalia to escape. Opening up all the boards, though, will take longer.

Pete goes looking for more of those psychological symbolic things in the rest of the building.

Birralee asks, "It would help if the boards taste like meat. Do they?"

Nathan says (to Birralee), "er -- like *vegetarian* meat"

[interludes] Jehelia gives you a distracted smile. "She went to sleep too. I think she'll be back later. Here, walk with me."

Thalia asks, "do you think there is something we can do from the outside to stop the boards from continually resealing the factory?"

Nathan leans a plank against the wall to give Birralee a step up

Birralee says, "I've never had a vegetarian. I don't think the zoo had them available."

Nathan exclaims (at Thalia), "talk to the people out there!"

Thalia says, "doh."

Thalia jumps out the hole

Birralee clambers up and starts trying to pry boards off with his jaws.

[interludes] Xaylia walks along. "Who are you? Are you a friend of Auntie Clara's?"

Thalia approaches the first group of people she sees working on the board.

(From Jehelia) There's still a mass of wandering people out there, and a few have started working on the outside again.

Thalia says, "We really need to try to get the factory open"

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "er, splintery"

Thalia joins group of people working on the outside and starts kicking and using arms too

[nobilis] Birralee says (to Pete), "I don't think I've completely figured out that that's a possibility. You might want to suggest it."

[interludes] Jehelia says, "You can call me Jehelia, I suppose." The two of you are approaching a bench where a man sits, looking dazed. "I'm supposed to ask you to help me. I'd rather just play, though."

[nobilis] Pete says, "Hee."

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "playing is fun!"

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "er, ilac"

[interludes] Xaylia says, "playing is fun!"

[interludes] Jim, staring through a big hole ripped out of his newspaper, blinks as he sees some movement.

Nathan says (to Birralee), "why don't you, you know, do that thing you did back there with the ogre things"

(From Jehelia) The people outside duck and look embarassed. "We're doing the best we can, miss," though clearly, they can do better, and begin to do so.

Pete says (to Other), "You'd have about as much luck trying to shout them off. C'mon and help me look around inside instead."

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "what are we doing to the boards as we take them down?"

[interludes] Xaylia says, "can you play hopscotch? I'm not very good at it because I only learned it yesterday from the girls who live here"

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "just dropping them to the ground?"

(From Jehelia) Many of the people not working only look blankly at Thalia as they wander around, as if their minds are a million miles away.

[nobilis] Nathan says, "I am tossing them to one side"

[nobilis] Nathan says, "I dunno what you're doing with them"

Birralee says (to Nathan), "Scream at them? Huh."

[interludes] Xaylia says, "but maybe you could teach me and I'd be better"

Birralee says, "I normally only do that at feeding time or if someone challenges me."

Birralee squints at the boards.

[interludes] Jim shakes himself awake, starts flipping through the paper to find a readable section.

[interludes] Xaylia spots the guy on the bench. "Hey, maybe he'll play with us!"

Nathan asks (of Birralee), "well, uh, the boards are challenging your ability to open them, right?"

[interludes] Jim carefully fails to react.

Thalia asks (of PersonC), "is there a woodcutter, or some one with an axe or a sawmill down here?"

[interludes] Jehelia says, ""Well, do you like mysteries? Or riddles?""

Thalia asks, "if we make these boards not be boards anymore, they can't keep boarding up the factory, can they?"

Birralee says, "Yes. This may be the best they can do, since they don't seem to have learned how to talk."

Birralee points his snout at the boards covering one window, coughs politely, then shrieks at them.

Nathan hastily covers his ears

[nobilis] Thalia says, "sure. don't warn us out here]"

Dara arrives, looking for booty.

[nobilis] Birralee says (to Thalia), "I could tell you or I could just scream. The sound'll take the same amount of time to reach you either way."

[Crows-Nest] Dara says, "Hey, sorry I'm late."

(From Jehelia) Splinters fly everywhere! Jehelia says, "Ow!" Outside, Thalia catches a glimspe of a figure on the other side of the bottomless gulf across the street.

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says, "didn't miss much"

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says, "we're still unboarding the factory"

[interludes] Jim wonders why his third-best suit is all dusty and disheveled.

[Crows-Nest] Dara nods.

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "wait. inside the factory?"

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "or down that cliff i almost died in?"

[nobilis] Jehelia is a bit slow right now, so have a bit of patience

[nobilis] Nathan says, "the latter, I assume"

[nobilis] Nathan says, "since that's where the bottomless gulf is"

Birralee blinks. "That *never* happened before. I think these boards are not used to being challenged. They would never get anything to eat, retreating like that."

[nobilis] Jehelia says, "On the otehr side of the cliff you almost died in. Where you started from when you jumped. The park side."

Nathan says, "perhaps you've gotten better at challenging recently"

Thalia gallops to the street and peers towards the other side

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "are we able to mentally talk to each other in the family yet?"

Thalia tries to make out the figure.

[interludes] Jim says, "And I'm not sure this park is the same as it was."

[interludes] Jim asks (of Xaylia), "Good heavens. An actual monkey?"

Birralee says, "If that is true, Samander and Bridport won't be stealing my food as easily in the future."

[Crows-Nest] Dara laughs at Bridport.

[interludes] Xaylia says (to jim), "hee. silly man, monkeys can't talk"

[interludes] Jim says, "Still, as long as you're not a talking monkey I know I haven't gone completely mad."

Thalia waves to get her attention

Birralee picks some other boards to yell at.

[interludes] Xaylia says, "also they don't wear pretty dresses like this one"

Thalia says, "damn not being able to fly"

[interludes] Xaylia does a little pirrouette

[Crows-Nest] Birralee says, "I should be yelling 'TIIIIMBEEEER!' before each yell."

Nathan says (to Thalia), "if you're looking for something to do with the boards, maybe you could make some kind of bridge"

[interludes] Jim says, "Er, yes, lovely."

Nathan tug yank pry

Thalia hastily grabs some of the people and directs them to make a bridge, since there seems to be no saw mill around here

[nobilis] Pete asks, "How about throwing the chain and hook?"

Thalia says (to PersonC), "we put these boards together, see, and we can try building a bridge, or at least, some kind of a platform that we can put over that gulf"

[interludes] Xaylia says (to Jim), "this, um, lady? is Jehelia"

[interludes] Jehelia says, "Jehelia looks between the two of you, beaming. She begins to glow slightly. "Xaylia," it says, "Jim will be taking care of you for a while. You'll both be... sort of like brother and sister, I guess." She frowns at Jim. "Though you need to relax." She reaches over and tugs on Jim's ear. And he changes."

[interludes] Jim turns to the older -- girl?

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "yasmina can fly, can't she?"

[interludes] Jim says, "Hey!"

[interludes] Xaylia watches. "Wow"

[interludes] Jehelia says, "(into otherJim!)"

Thalia takes out a piece of paper and scribbles a note. "Can you make your way over here? We are going to try to build a bridge though." and attaches it to an arrow, sets it flying to wards a rock next to Yasmina

Thalia twangs her bow

[nobilis] Nathan says, "yay bow"

[interludes] Xaylia rubs her eyes

[nobilis] Pete says, "Well, I'm wandering around inside the building."

[interludes] Jim says, "I've already told you people, I don't have any further comment about -- um, about..."

[Crows-Nest] Birralee says, "and now Yasmina will gasp out, 'Message for you, sir,' before collapsing with an arrow in her chest"

[nobilis] Pete says, "And Thalia's outside."

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says, "hee hee"

[interludes] Jim says, "I'm sure there was something."

(From Jehelia) Yasmina is just standing there. She waves a bit, and then points at the big chain and grappling hook still on Thalia's side of the gulf.

Thalia says, "doh. my head is not working today."

[interludes] Jim says, "I'm sorry, maybe I have hurt my head after all. I can't remember, er, I can't remember what it is I can't remember. Sorry."

[nobilis] Thalia says, "is the chain like part of some kind of a crane? Cause I am not sure I am strong enough to throw it to the other side"

[nobilis] Jehelia asks, "People pause for a minute?"

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "although hm. can the hook be used on the factory?"

Thalia calls outside, as loud as she can

Thalia says, "oh good. Lady is on the other side of the gulf"

Pete heads out to see what's the matter.

Thalia asks, "The Lady that gave me the bow? She is on the side we were on earlier...Can we somehow get the hook to her?"

[interludes] Jim asks, "Wait, who are the 'others'?"

[interludes] Jehelia says, "The other pars of me, silly."

[interludes] Jim blinks.

[interludes] Jim says, "That does sound cosy."

[nobilis] Birralee says (to Nathan), "as long as he doesn't look down, he won't fall"

[Crows-Nest] Xaylia says, "also Xaylia and Thalia sounds like a crime-fighting duo anyway"

Pete says (to Yasmina), "Afternoon."

[interludes] Jehelia says, "You're a part of me, and she's a part of me. I think when I die, Yasmina will take care of you and then you'll be a part of her."

[interludes] Xaylia frowns

[interludes] Xaylia says, "you can't die! that means you'll go away and I can't play with you any more"

[interludes] Jim says, "You know, this is not making any sense, so I guess I'll just take your word for it."

(From Jehelia) Yasmina has a grim little smile on her face. "Now hook it onto the ground, and go back over there and PULL. A pity your brother isn't there but you'll just have to make do."

Thalia goes back to directing the people on the thing that's supposed to be a platform.

Pete swings the hook around a few times on the end of the chain, then *rams* it into the ground.

Pete says, "Can do."

Thalia says, "hey, it gives the board something to do instead of just going back to the factory"

[interludes] Jehelia winks at Xaylia. "Well, if you're a part of me, part of me will always live, just like you."

Pete tightrope runs back along the chain.

(From Jehelia) There's a shaking much bigger than the expected one when Pete rams the hook down... on both sides of the gulf.

[interludes] Xaylia says, "I don't want a part! Parts don't play!"

Jehelia cowers, throwing her hands over his head. "Here she comes!"

[interludes] Jim says, "Aw, it's okay."

Nathan pokes his head out the factory window, gapes

[interludes] Xaylia stomp pout

[interludes] Jim picks Xaylia up easily with one hand.

[interludes] Xaylia says, "wheee!"

Pete says, "Alright, we might have to work together on this part. That land looks pretty heavy."

[interludes] Xaylia says, "hey, you're strong"

[interludes] Xaylia says, "biutI don't like being carried"

[interludes] Xaylia says, "er, but I"

Birralee is too busy having fun to notice the shaking.

[interludes] Jim says, "Yeah, I am."

[interludes] Jehelia says, ""You have fun! My good parts!" It claps its hands, and vanishes."

Pete grabs ahold of the chain with both hands, "Heave!"

[interludes] Xaylia says, "wow"

[interludes] Jim gently throws Xaylia up and down a few times.

Nathan says (to Birralee), "psst, look at that"

[interludes] Xaylia says, "heeheehee"

[interludes] Jim says, "Hey, she vanished."

[nobilis] Jehelia asks, "Who all is pulling?"

Birralee finds a place where he can see out and stares.

[interludes] Jim asks, "I didn't even catch her name. Did you?"

[interludes] Xaylia says, "that's okay. I think we're dreaming"

Thalia calls across the gulf. Would my pulling from this end be of any help?

[interludes] Xaylia asks, "Jehe... um, helera?"

Thalia walks over to the chain, rolls up imaginary sleeves, and waits for Pete's response

[interludes] Jim says, "Hey, could be. My psychiatrist is going to love this one."

[nobilis] Jehelia says, "You're all on the same end, I think..."

[interludes] Xaylia says, "something long and pretty, anyway"

[interludes] Jim says, "Uh-huh."

[nobilis] Pete says, "Yeah, I'm back on your side."

[interludes] Jim asks, "And what's your name?"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "Ah misunderstood"

[interludes] Xaylia says, "I'm Xaylia!"

[interludes] Jim says, "I'm Jim."

[interludes] Jim says, "Er, I think."

Thalia grabs the chain. "Heave Ho!"

[interludes] Xaylia says, "Jim is a boys name"

[nobilis] Nathan says, "I guess if I see them pulling, I'll go over and help out"

[interludes] Xaylia says, "you can't have a boy's name any more"

Nathan says (to Birralee), "c'mon, I think the chain is asserting its dominance now"

[interludes] Jim says, "Yay dream-logic."

[interludes] Jehelia says, "The town on the far side of the park is a wreck, but even as you watch, it seems to shimmer and fade. The town on the near edge of the park is a haze. Xalya knows instinctively that's where the heart is, whatever that means."

Nathan climbs out the window and heads over to help pull

[interludes] Jim asks, "Okay, call me -- Janice?"

[nobilis] Pete says, "'EEEEEE' 'Chain shatters!'"

[interludes] Xaylia says, "okay, but that's not a very pretty name"

[interludes] Jim asks, "What do you suggest?"

[interludes] Xaylia says, "I will think of a prettier one for you later"

[interludes] Jim says, "Thank you!"

[interludes] Xaylia says, "right now I wanna go over" *points* "there!""

Birralee follows Nathan.

[interludes] Janice says, "Now, hang on, Jemima said you knew where the others were."

Birralee asks, "That chain doesn't look tasty. How do you use your forelegs like that to pick up things?"

[interludes] Xaylia says, "but I wanna walk, 'cause I'm not a baby any more and Da says I should learn to not expect people to carry me"

[interludes] Janice says, "By Jemima I mean that strange person who was here a minute ago."

[interludes] Janice says, "You are *not* calling me Jemima."

[interludes] Janice says, "Oh, okay, sorry."

[interludes] Janice puts Xaylia down.

Nathan says (to Birralee), "hmm"

[interludes] Xaylia asks, "others?"

[interludes] Xaylia says, "I think they must be over there too"

(From Jehelia) There's a /creaking/ noise as the Powers heave, and then, slowly, the land on the other side begins to move closer.

[interludes] Janice says, "Well, if you say so."

[interludes] Xaylia says, "if I want to go there then everyone else prob'ly does too"

Dara asks (of Jehelia), "They're reconnecting us together again. Was it you that pushed it apart?"

[interludes] Janice says, "You lead and I'll follow."

[interludes] Jehelia says, "The ground around you begins to shudder and shake."

Nathan says (to Birralee), "ok, yeah, maybe you should stay here, then -- or *oof* maybe that won't be necessary"

Thalia says, "whee! Plate techtonics sped up"

[interludes] Xaylia says, "'cos this is *my dream"

[interludes] Xaylia says, "eek"

Birralee says, "This is neat."

[interludes] Janice says, "Yow, this doesn't feel good."

[interludes] Xaylia says, "okay you can carry me again now"

Pete says, "You know, I don't know about the rest of you, but this is *the* strangest day I've ever had."

[interludes] Janice rolls her eyes, picks up Xaylia.

[interludes] Janice asks, "Now, which way?"

[interludes] Janice asks, "Over here?"

[interludes] Xaylia points

[interludes] Jehelia says, "the shaking has a sort of rhythmic quality to it that makes it easy to walk across"

[interludes] Janice walks briskly in that direction.

[interludes] Jehelia says, "the mist engulfs you."

[interludes] Janice says, "This isn't like any earthquake I've been in before."

[interludes] Janice says, "It's almost like a heartbeat or something."

[interludes] * Jehelia has removed Janice from the channel.

[interludes] Xaylia thinks. "Hmm. Xendora? Xarissa?"

[interludes] * Jehelia has removed Xaylia from the channel.

(From Jehelia) Heave! Ho! Heave! Ho! Heave! Ho! Heave! Ho! Heave Ho!

Thalia sings a sailing chantey in time with the pulling

[nobilis] Jim says, "Yay, that was fun."

Birralee twitches his paws left and right in time to Thalia's singing.

(From Jehelia) Janice and Xaylia come out of the mist to find a chasm before them. A woman in black stands on the edge, her hair streaming in the find. There's a hook, a giant hook in the earth beside her. And the land across the chasm is steadily moving closer, being pulled there by a team of people drawing on a chain.

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "I think my character is from the Brady Bunch or something"

[nobilis] Pete says, "That's scary."

[interludes] * Jehelia has added Dara to the channel.

[nobilis] Jim says, "Now I need to recap like crazy and see what the rest of you are doing."

[nobilis] Nathan says, "luckily the GM is there to recap for you"

Xaylia says (to Janice), "stop stop stop"

[nobilis] Jim says, "Yay"

[nobilis] Pete asks (of GM), "Hey, who are you callin 'people'?"

[interludes] Dara asks (of Jehelia), "Is it wrong to save you? To save us?"

Janice says, "Whoops, okay."

[nobilis] Nathan says, "hee hee"

[interludes] Jehelia says, "It's wrong. There's a war, you see. And she is a general. She's left the war, and she's broken the rules of this world. She's so /blind/ and /stupid/."

Xaylia asks (of woman), "Hi! Are you the girl that um, Jerelihinasomething told us to find?"

Janice says (to woman), "Hey, hi there."

Janice asks, "Are you (frowns at Xaylia) *Yasmina*?"

(From Jehelia) Yasmina glances at them. "I am Yasmina." The land gets closer, closer, closer.

Xaylia says (to Janice), "(in a small voice) I couldn't remember"

Janice says, "Oh, great. Somebody told us to look for the others."

Pete says, "Hey, there are more of them over there."

[interludes] Dara asks (of Jehelia), "And what will happen now?"

Janice says, "Something about them being parts of you or something."

Xaylia says, "I think those poeple pulling must be the others"

Xaylia waves across the chasm

Janice says (to Pete), "Hi there!"

Birralee exclaims, "New food--people. New people!"

(From Jehelia) Then, with a giant shudder, the two lands hit each other, and become one. The folks on the other side are... a centaur, a little furry thing with lots of teeth, a monkey, a genie, an iron man, and an ordinary guy.

Pete waves inbetween heaves. "Hello!"

[Crows-Nest] Nathan exclaims, "I'm extraordinary because I'm so ordinary!"

[interludes] Jehelia says, "Dara, you feel the shaking all the way to your roots. The two lands ARE one now."

[Crows-Nest] Birralee says, "your ordinariness whelms us"

Xaylia says (to Janice), "you can put me down now"

Janice does so.

[Crows-Nest] Pete says (to Lee), "Yay"

Thalia walks over to see the little girl

Pete checks the seam for structural integrity.

Xaylia says (to thalia), "hey, you have a pony, uh, um, you are a pony"

Janice says, "Oh, and *there* are the talking animals."

[interludes] Jehelia says, "Jehelia buries her head. "I don't know.""

[Crows-Nest] Thalia asks, "didn't we have a jim like two seconds ago?"

Janice says, "This is the best dream ever."

Nathan says (to Pete), "see, and the chain symbolically represents -- uh, something"

Pete says (to Nathan), "A chain, perhaps."

[Crows-Nest] Birralee says (to Nathan), "hee hee"

Thalia says (to Xaylia), "I am a centaur. Ponies are my cousins"

[interludes] Dara says (to Jehelia), "Well, if she's leaving the war to save you, that just means you have to make her sacrifice worthwhile."

Birralee wanders over to the new people and surreptitiously sniffs at their pockets.

Xaylia asks (of birralee), "you're cute! can I play with you?"

Yasmina steps across the crack and begins to pace very deliberately towards the factory.

Thalia says (to Nathan), "the link that connects all of us together, of course, in the circle of life"

Janice just boggles.

Yasmina says, "(Well, where the crack used to be.)"

Thalia says, "I guess we should go with her to see what she does to the guy inside or to the factory"

Birralee asks (of Xaylia), "Hello! What do you want to do?"

[nobilis] Pete asks, "So, er. What exactly is Janice supposed to look like to us at this point?"

Janice asks (of Monkey), "Hey, you, you're a talking monkey. What the fuck is up with that?"

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "does Xaylia look normal?"

[interludes] Dara says (to Jehelia), "We're one, now. This is something new, isn't it? We may confound our side; let's confound the enemy as well."

Xaylia says (to birralee), "and you talk! we could play run-and-catch, I guess"

[nobilis] Janice says, "Hmm, possibly she needs to adjust her description."

(From Yasmina) The people scatter from Yasmina's path and she goes to the partially opened factory, ducks inside, and continues across the great open floor to where Jehelia and her serpent shadow are huddling next to Dara.

Birralee says, "Believe me, I'm just as surprised to hear you talking as you apparently are to hear me talking."

Xaylia says, "or hopscotch, but the man-lady didn't have time to teach me it better"

Dara stands at Yasmina's approach.

Xaylia says, "but I think we should be good and follow the lady"

Birralee says, "Oh! She gave me the seed."

Pete follows Yasmina, to see what the kid thinks of this turn of events.

Xaylia asks, "what kind of a seed?"

Xaylia says, "is it a sunflower seed? those are tasty"

Birralee says, "Actually, she gave it to Tail, which I think was a bad idea, but he gave it to me, and then I gave it to the tall reddish-brown person and it turned out okay. I think."

Birralee says, "It was--I don't know. It was a very strange seed."

Xaylia says, "oh"

Dara asks (of Yasmina), "Can I help?"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "is maga on auto-pilot? he seems less sugar-highish"

Nathan climbs back into the factory too

Yasmina says gravely to Dara, "Thank you. If you tend to its land for now, I will see if I can tend to the spirit." She gazes down at the heap of Jehelia.

[nobilis] Janice says, "He isn't here."

[nobilis] Nathan says, "Birralee = sarge"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "ah ha. so the monkey is on auto pilot"

Birralee follows everyone.

Dara closes her eyes and reaches out with her senses to touch again the voids and the abnormality.

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "are the boards still insisting on boarding up the factory?"

Xaylia hoppity-skips along behind the ponygirl and the magic rat

Yasmina crouches down and takes Jehelia's hand. Jehelia gazes back, face tearstained, eyes bloodshot. "I imagine the factory will unboard itself further as it heals, though you might see about getting some light in here."

Yasmina glances up at those assembled.

[nobilis] Thalia says, "that's the cue for the Star boy to do some show stoppers"

Janice waves to Jehelia, smiles.

[Crows-Nest] Birralee says, "if I really were magic I'd have magicked me up some food"

Thalia grimaces at the interior of the factory. It really is dark in here

[Crows-Nest] Pete says, "You could perhaps make a martini."

Xaylia says (to jehelia), "hey, it's you"

[Crows-Nest] Pete says, "(Stirred, not shaken.)"

[Crows-Nest] Birralee says, "hee hee"

Janice says (to Xaylia), "Shh, I think they're busy."

Thalia asks (of Nathan), "can't you intensify the sparkles when you move your hand or something?"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "This Jehelia is only a shadow of the previous one"

[nobilis] Xaylia asks, "but recognisable, no?"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "Injured and exhausted and worn, with tearstained face. Her shadow is a giant three-dimensional serpent. Yes, recognizable."

[nobilis] Dara says, "(channel?)"

Xaylia says (to jehelia), "you don't look well"

(From Yasmina) Jehelia smiles wanly. "I did say." It makes a vain attempt to yank its hand away from Yasmina. "Let's discuss this away from the children." It attempts to push itself to its feet.

[interludes] Yasmina exclaims, "Blankess and monstrous alieness!"

Janice whispers (to the normal-looking people), "Hey, uh, is something going on here? Anything I can do to help?"

Nathan says (to Thalia), "er, sorry. Yes, let me see to it."

Janice asks, "And what the hell is this monkey trying to do with my pants?"

Janice administers a beating.

Dara stands up. "OK, folks. We're under attack by... some very odd things. Two *voids* and something that's monstrous and alien. Do we split up, or counter each one in turn?

Nathan gestures vaguely, and streams of silver light ripples off of his hand and into the rafters

Thalia sighs and gives Granola another granola bar to keep him occupied

Nathan says (to Janice), "it's, uh, hard to explain"

(From Yasmina) Yasmina and Jeheila make their way to an elevator on the far wall and summon it. When it arrives, they step inside, an arguement already starting.

Janice asks (of Dara), "Have you tried talking to them?"

Xaylia sits on the floor

(From Yasmina) Yay, light! The factory isn't so bad once there are lights, even if it is boarded up.

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says, "(sorry, was putting scones in the oven)"

[Crows-Nest] Yasmina says, "pant pant pant NPCs offscreen for now, thank god."

Pete asks (of Dara), "Are you sure the alien isn't just another one of us?"

Xaylia says, "they're fighting, aren't they? I don't like it when people fight"

[Crows-Nest] Thalia says, "split up of course. animals on one end, humans on the other"

[Crows-Nest] Dara laughs.

[Crows-Nest] Janice says (to GM), "Heh."

Dara says (to Pete), "Yes, quite sure."

Birralee says, "I don't think the young f--person likes us."

Janice says (to Birralee), "Hey, we don't use the f-word around the young 'uns."

Janice says, "Whichever f-word you were thinking of, come to that."

Birralee asks, "The f-word? Has she not eaten eather?"

[interludes] Yasmina says, "One void seems to be leaving or retreating, after interacting briefly with the alien thing"

Pete says, "May as well deal with one thing at a time, if you ask me."

Janice says, "I can't even see these things you're talking about."

Xaylia says (to birralee), "I'm not hungry"

Nathan says, "let's take a look at the first one together -- if it looks easy or the situation is urgent, we can split it"

Janice asks, "How did they attack you? Us?"

Dara cocks her head. "Hmm. One void is... leaving? It's encountered the alien."

Nathan says (to Dara), "you'd better lead the way, since you seem to know what's going on"

Dara says (to Nathan), "Good call."

Birralee asks, "What can we do?"

Dara strides out of the factory, sweeping open a door befor her.

Birralee says, "I wonder if these things do not like being screamed at."

Janice follows.

Pete follows Dara.

Janice says, "Come on, people, let's stick together at least."

Nathan asks (of Birralee), "and who would?"

Xaylia follows Janice, because the ladyman told her to

Nathan looks to make sure everyone else is coming, then goes along himself

Dara, once out, tries to get a bead on the alien presence.

Birralee trundles along after, which is mostly what he's been doing lately.

[interludes] Dara says, "(These all still feel like threats, right?)"

Janice asks (of talking rat), "So, do you have a name or are you just a generic talking animal?"

Janice says, "I'm going to write all this down when I wake up, see."

Birralee exclaims, "I am Birralee! I am a Tasmanian devil, a carrion eater from Tasmania!"

[Crows-Nest] Nathan asks, "is Birralee's desc up to date? he's in the form of a tasmanian devil, right?"

[interludes] Yasmina says, "The alien thing, dfinitely. The blankness... Mmmm. Not part of your realm. But not hurting anything."

[Crows-Nest] Birralee says, "yeah. My desc isn't up to date."

Janice says, "Aha, well, of course you are."

Janice says, "Nice to meet you, Birralee."

[interludes] Dara asks, "Were there two blanknesses?"

Birralee exclaims, "And you!"

Xaylia says (to Janice), "he's the nicest part of this dream, I think"

[interludes] Yasmina says, "Originally, yes."

[interludes] Dara asks, "Was one the chasm?"

Janice says, "And don't play any tricks like that monkey or I'll kick your Tasmanian ass."

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says, "ha ha ha"

Janice asks (of Xaylia), "Don't you like the centaur?"

Birralee's ears go back and he unobtrusively drifts to the back of the group.

Thalia canters slowly looking around

(From Yasmina) Some of the people on the street head into the factory as you pass them, a determined look on their faces.

Xaylia says (to Janice), "she's pretty but the magic rat wanted to play"

Nathan stops a passing person. "What are you doing?"

Janice says (to Xaylia), "Aww."

Dara says, "Sorry, this is harder than I thought."

Thalia stops the person from sidestepping Nathan by a simple act of standing with her horse bit blocking the way

Janice asks (of Dara), "What are you looking for, exactly?"

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says (to Thalia), "hee hee"

(From Yasmina) "The person said, "Oh, um. I'm not quite sure, honestly. But I think there's something I can do in the factory. I have these... schematics in my head."

[Crows-Nest] Birralee asks, "isn't the 'horse bit' the thing in your mouth?"

Dara says, "There's an alien presence here. Somewhere. It's a threat to the land."

Nathan says, "hmm"

Nathan says, "ok, carry on"

Nathan says, "don't do anything bad to the factory"

Janice asks (of Dara), "Just a 'presence', or does it have like a physical form?"

(From Yasmina) Figure looks shocked. "Of course not! No, I have to build... something." And he hurries on in.

Nathan asks (of Dara), "unless those schematics are related somehow?"

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "do they still have blank looks on their faces as if they are a million miles away, or are they at least normal again?"

Thalia looks carefully at each person's face

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "Some of them look normal. Some of them are still being downloaded. :-)"

Thalia asks (of Nathan), "do they look a bit programmed to you?"

Thalia says (to Nathan), "I noticed when we were trying to open up the factory, a lot of them looked spaced-out"

Nathan says (to Thalia), "well, that last one wasn't exactly normal"

Thalia says, "some of them still look spacey."

Dara says, "No, the factory's fine. Jehelia didn't want to be saved--Yasmina's abandonded the war to help her. But if you're going to do it, might as well do it right."

Nathan asks, "the war? what war?"

Thalia asks, "You think they are under someone else's influence?"

Birralee asks, "The war?"

(From Yasmina) You all start also being aware of the others in terms of a sort of glow that you can't see with ordinary vision. Which I will describe now.

Pete says (to Nathan), "He seemed fine to me. He's got a goal, and he's got a plan, and he's doin' what he needs to to carry it out."

Birralee trots back up to the middle of the pack.

Xaylia sits down suddenly.

(From Yasmina) Thalia has a pretty bright glow, and her bow glows most of all in this other vision.

Thalia says, "okay, i need shades"

(From Yasmina) Monkey glows, but not as much as Thalia. He looks like a monkey. And somehow, monkeys spell trouble.

Janice says, "Amen."

[Crows-Nest] Pete says, "I never knew that monkeys could spell."

Janice says, "You won't believe how much these pants cost."

[Crows-Nest] Birralee says, "they probably spell it 't-r-u-b-oh, hell with this, it's too much work'"

(From Yasmina) Birralee glows exactly as much as Thalia, about as bright as the sun on a clear day-- good thing this isn't really your eyes! And there's a cyclone around him.

[Crows-Nest] Xaylia says, "they're still doing better than I can"

(From Yasmina) Ferris only has a dim glow, and the glint of his iron skin is clearly visible.

(From Yasmina) Nathaniel glows like a star, simple as that.

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says, "t-r-o-u-b-l-eee-eee-eee"

[Crows-Nest] Xaylia says, "sorry, those are boring letters"

(From Yasmina) Pete's glow is warm and friendly, like the sort of fire you stare into and daydream about the future.

Nathan says, "whoah"

[nobilis] Thalia looks at stats to correlate glows with stats

Pete asks, "Did it just get brighter out here, or is it just me?"

Xaylia shakes her head, as if to clear it

Birralee says, "Not only have you learned to talk, you've learned to glow! This is very interesting."

Janice says, "Now this is turning into one of those dreams where you're in heaven and everybody's in white robes and soft focus."

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "spirit (since hearthfire, inferno, etc)"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "ah ha"

(From Yasmina) Dara and Janice are both just as dim as Ferris, though Dara moves like a Queen, and Janice like her right hand. Dara has absolutely no trace of a flavor to her glow, though, while Janice's glow is the dim light of swallowing your pride for the greater good

Janice says, "But I'm still wearing this damned suit, so I dunno."

Thalia says (to Janice), "no halo please"

Pete asks (of Janice), "Do you usually talk to people in your dreams about your dreams?"

Janice says (to Pete), "Sure, all the time."

Birralee asks, "What are dreams?"

Janice says (to Pete), "I figure then if it's not actually a dream, somebody would be decent enough to tell me."

Thalia asks (of berry), "do you see movies when you go to sleep?"

Thalia says (to berry), "that's what we call dreams"

Janice says, "Of course people do that all the time but I can tell when they're lying."

Birralee asks, "Movies?"

Xaylia says (to Janice), "I don't think this is a dream"

Birralee asks, "Oh, you mean the not-things that happen to me when I lie down?"

(From Yasmina) Xaylia looks like she's on fire with every step she takes, rimmed with an almost blinding white light. The nature of her fire is only barely more visible than Dara's: she's the clue in a crossword, the x in an algebra equation.

Thalia says (to berry), "right"

Janice says (to Xaylia), "Yeah, I was kind of starting to think that and wondering how I could dig myself out of the hole."

Xaylia says, "and I don't know why but you all look shiny"

Janice says (to Xaylia), "Not as shiny as you."

Thalia says (to Xaylia), "you are shiner than a new penny"

Xaylia asks, "really?"

[Crows-Nest] Thalia says (to nathan), "ha!"

Birralee says, "Now I am hungrier than before."

Dara turns and sees Xaylia seemingly for the first time, and blanches.

Pete says (to Janice), "I figure if it's a dream, it's probably one of those coma dreams, after you get hit on the head too hard."

[nobilis] Janice says, "Better shinier than a new Penny than dirtier than an old Gaston."

[Crows-Nest] Yasmina says, "Yay! ahem"

Nathan blinks at Xaylia

Nathan . o O ( and I thought I was the star )

[nobilis] Dara snorts.

Xaylia stands up and brushes some dirt off her dress, so as not to spoil the glowiness

Nathan says (to Pete,Janice), "I haven't had a dream where multiple people in it say that they're dreaming"

Janice says (to Nathan), "Hmm, I had one with the entire Von Trapp family in it."

Janice says (to Nathan), "And they were definitely giving me some funny looks."

Nathan says, "personally, I'd gnaw my leg off"

Pete asks, "Did you tell them about your dreams?"

Janice says, "Yeah, while I was making clothes out of curtains for them."

Nathan says (to Xaylia), "ok, now you sing "I am six going on seven""

Janice asks, "Wait, didn't somebody say something about an evil alien presence trying to kill us all?"

Nathan asks, "..yes?"

Janice says, "It kind of seems like we should be thinking about that a little."

Dara says, "That was me."

Nathan says, "I'm just making chit-chat while Dara leads us on"

Pete says (to Janice), "I think we're waiting for Dara to figure out where it is."

Nathan asks, "er, or are we there?"

Nathan looks around in some confusion

Janice asks (of Dara), "Any way we can help?"

Thalia asks, "weren't we going to hear about a war?"

Pete says (to Nathan), "You'd think we'd be able to see if we'd found a monstrous alien presence."

Thalia says (to Nathan), "us glowing like this would've been helpful in the factory"

Dara frowns, conecentrats, and... *shifts*. She doesn't quite look the same as she did a moment ago, and we're not just talking about the gigantic white wings that now sprout from her shoulders.

Dara says, "I'm going to take a look around. Be back in a sec."

Thalia says (to Janice), "you got your angel"

Janice says, "Fuck."

Dara crouches, then springs straight up in the air.

Janice says, "Sorry."

[interludes] Yasmina exclaims, "Wheee!"

Xaylia says (to Dara), "wow"

Pete says, "Right. That's six down, three to go."

Thalia asks (of Janice), "you meant to say fudge didn't you? it's oaky. I have only granola bars. want one?"

[interludes] Dara enjoyes the rush of wind for a few seconds, then does a couple loops, trying to sense which direction the alien is.

Janice says, "Sure, thanks."

Xaylia pinches herself. "wakeupwakeupwakeupwakeup"

[interludes] Yasmina says, "On the one hand, your world is connected to the world of Earth by ribbon. On the other hand, your world is suspended from a giant tree. Outside of the embrace of the giant tree is a wall. There's a place on the other side of the wall. The presence you sense is from there. You know all this."

Xaylia says, "hey, that doesn't hurt"

Xaylia says, "must be a dream"

Janice says, "I'm not sure that's how it works."

Birralee exclaims, "Wow!"

Dara lands again.

Thalia asks, "how was the view?"

Xaylia says, "maybe I fell into a comic book"

Janice says (to Dara), "Love the wings."

[interludes] Yasmina says, "It;s moving around. It feels like papercuts in your mind."

Dara says, "Incredible."

Pete asks, "Find any evil voids?"

Birralee gives a little jump skyward, getting at least two inches off of the ground.

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "People with Realm 2 and J-ness can vaguely sense the same alien presence, but only as an infringement on your sense of personal space. As if something cold and scary is creeping up behind you."

Janice says (to Birralee), "Aww, let me give you a hand."

Nathan says (to Birralee), "I think you need, you know, wings"

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "wait"

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "j-ness?"

[nobilis] Xaylia asks, "which am I?"

Pete asks (of Nathan), "Really?"

[nobilis] Xaylia asks, "j or y?"

Janice picks up Birralee, throws him into the sky at like eighty miles an hour.

[nobilis] Nathan says, "you're j"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "J"

[nobilis] Nathan says (to Thalia), "you're y"

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "okay"

Dara says, "OK, it's... odd. This land is like it's suspended from a giant tree, and outside the tree is a wall--there's something outside the wall that's the alien presence. It's moving around."

Janice says, "Oops! Too hard."

Xaylia shudders slightly

[interludes] Dara asks, "Can we get there?"

Janice says, "It's okay, it's okay, I'll catch him --"

Nathan blinks

Nathan asks (of Dara), "it's what?"

Thalia waves her arms. "Grr. Something is standing close to me. What is that?"

Birralee says, "...eeeeeeEEEEE"

Xaylia says (to Thalia), "it's creepy"

Janice squints into the sky.

Janice says, "shitshitshit"

[interludes] Yasmina says, "You can probably track it down though you'll have to keep adjusting course to catch it."

Janice runs backwards, still looking up.

(From Birralee) A small vortex of swirling air comes drifting down.

Janice says, "Whoa."

Thalia looks around suspiciously, waving her arms

[Crows-Nest] Yasmina Falls out of her chair laughing.

Dara says, "Stick close--I think I can get us there, but I'll have to keep adjusting as it moves."

Vortex says, "This is very unusual."

Nathan blinks

Nathan asks (of Vortex), "Birralee, are you in there?"

Vortex solidifies back into Birralee.

Nathan says, "...whoah"

Thalia asks (of berry), "how was the view?"

[interludes] Dara says, "[Can I conjure up a jet plane for us?]"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "AFK for a minute"

Xaylia says (to Thalia), "um, can I ride on you? I don't feel safe"

Thalia helps Xaylia up

Birralee says (to Thalia), "It turned around a lot."

[nobilis] Pete says, "Yay"

Xaylia says, "and Janice keeps saying rude things"

[interludes] Yasmina says, "Sure. Have fun. :-)"

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says, "as the token regular guy, I am allowed to talk like Keanu as much as I want"

Thalia asks, "Put your arms around my waist. I will try not to bounce, okay?"

Birralee sits down for a second. "I think I'm going to wait before trying that again. If I can do that again."

[Crows-Nest] Xaylia says, "heehee"

Dara says, "Here, let me try something."

Xaylia says (to thalia), "okay!"

Thalia says (to berry), "aw. water? (shakes water bottle)"

[interludes] Yasmina says, "helicoptor might be better"

[Crows-Nest] Thalia says, "man my knapsack is handy"

Birralee exclaims, "Yes please!"

Thalia tosses the bottle to Berry

Thalia says, "oh, and no need to give it back"

Xaylia says (to thalia), "your bow is shiny too"

Birralee pauses, having already bitten the top of it off. "Okay."

Thalia says (to Xaylia), "thanks."

Dara gestures at the earth, which rumbles as a thin wall of metal erupts from it. The metal warps, then buckles as it collapses into a cylendar, stretching into a bubble with an oddly-shaped tail.

Thalia says (to Xaylia), "remember the lady we saw earlier? She gave it to me"

Nathan says (to Dara), "not bad"

Thalia asks (of nathan), "what *is* it?"

Xaylia says, "Oh. Was she shiny? I didn't notice, but I think she must have been"

Nathan says (to Thalia), "I don't know, but it's cool"

[Crows-Nest] Thalia renames Nathan to Keanu

Xaylia asks (of Dara), "is it a spaceship?"

[Crows-Nest] Thalia says, "you are hitting the keanu meter a little too regularly"

(From Dara) Nearby, a small tree falls over, breaks into four pieces, bundles itself together, and rolls across the ground, bounding up to the top of the bubble, which continues to warp and shape itself.

Xaylia says, "maybe not"

(From Dara) You blink--it's a helicopter.

Janice asks, "Is that a helicopter?"

Xaylia says, "um"

Xaylia says, "if we're all getting in that, then, er, ponies can't ride in hellycoppers"

Dara says, "There we go--should have room for all of us."

Dara says (to Xaylia), "(grinning) They can in mine."

Xaylia says, "oh, okay"

Nathan says, "awright, let's fly"

Nathan hops in

Janice says (to Xaylia), "Honey, I've seen helicopters that hold like thirty beefy bodyguards."

Janice says, "I'm sure this one can manage a centaur."

Dara opens the side door, revealing seats perfectly sized for everyone.

Xaylia asks (of Janice), "beefy? they look like cows?"

Janice says (to Xaylia), "Er, I'll tell you later."

Thalia hangs back

Xaylia hops down off Thalia

Janice asks (of Dara), "So where are we going?"

Birralee enters the helicopter, carefully avoiding any help up from Janice.

Xaylia asks, "can I sit up front? pleeeease?"

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "does the helicopter count as enclosed space?"

Dara says (to Thalia), "It's OK, it's made for you."

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "It has lots of windows."

Xaylia says, "I'll be real extra special quiet and good"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "okay"

Thalia gingerly steps in

Thalia says, "I prefer all my feet on the ground, you know"

Dara says (to Xaylia), "Sure, kid. You can sit in my lap."

Xaylia says, "yay"

Janice says, "I guess we're all getting in, then."

Dara quietly brushes a tear from her eye.

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "Yeah, this won't be FUN for Thalia but... not enclosed"

Dara sits in the pilot seat.

Janice sits next to Thalia.

Janice says (to Thalia), "It's okay, these things are really reliable."

Xaylia hops up and looks at the buttons, determined not to press any no matter how sparkly andpretty they are

Thalia clamps both hands on Janice's arm in nervousness

Janice says, "At least when they come out of a factory they're reliable."

Thalia clenches harder

Janice feels no pain, is slightly concerned about her suit but keeps quiet.

Dara exclaims, "OK, everyone, buckle up!"

Birralee asks, "Does this spin around, too?"

Dara takes off.

Janice says, "Yow, a centaur seatbelt."

Pete says, "This is probably no more dangerous than gaping bottomless chasms, monstrous aliens, or strange young people who cast giant snake shadows."

Nathan says (to Birralee), "does it ever"

Dara says (to Birralee), "There's a lot of spin up top."

Janice eventually figures out how the centaur seatbelt works.

Nathan exclaims (at Dara), "just like in politics!"

Xaylia says (to Pete), "or everyone glowing or growing animal parts"

Birralee says (to Xaylia), "I didn't grow any animal parts! All my animal parts came when I was born."

Xaylia says (to birralee), "you grew human parts, then"

(From Yasmina) The helicoptor flies over the land, wheee! And well, um, this isn't Kansas anymore. Crumbling cityscapes butt up against rolling farmland. The mental papercut is... in the farmland. A meadow. Near a large forest.

Xaylia says, "like talking"

Janice says (to Xaylia), "It's not polite to stare at -- oh, er, yes, that."

Dara circles, trying to get a better look.

Birralee exclaims, "I could always talk!"

Thalia keeps her eyes closed

(From Yasmina) There's nothing to see. Well, wait. There are animals of some sort down there.

Nathan asks, "you could?"

Thalia mutters to Berry, why do I feel like we are going around in circles?

Birralee thinks for a second. "But -- people never understood me before."

Xaylia asks (of birralee), "really?"

Nathan asks, "could everyone else always listen?"

Janice squints at the animal-things.

Xaylia says, "oh"

(From Yasmina) Pearly white, two of them. They seem to be quite upset about something.

Janice asks (of Dara), "Can you take us lower?"

Dara asks, "Should we just land?"

Xaylia says (to Dara), "um, if they're friendly"

Birralee says (to Nathan), "Before I just assumed people couldn't talk."

(From Yasmina) One of them bucks and hops, while the other rears.

Janice says (to Dara), "Well, you seem to be the one who knows where we're going."

Janice asks, "Show of hands? Who wants to land?"

(From Yasmina) Suddenly lines of red open along the bucking one's body, like dozens and dozens of... papercuts.

Dara, if the thing isn't moving any more, sets down the helicopter.

Nathan says, "yow"

Janice says, "Fudge!"

Xaylia says, "eek"

Birralee exclaims, "That isn't right!"

Nathan says (to Birralee), "...something in that"

Janice leaps out.

[nobilis] Thalia says, "the GM better not be killing off my unicorns before I meet them"

(From Dara) The helicopter unfolds, letting everyone out.

Xaylia struggles to get out to help the pretty things

Janice runs up to the injured wotsit.

Thalia fumbles with the seatbelt grr.

Thalia clambers out

Nathan hops out

[nobilis] Janice says (to Thalia), "Ha. Sorry."

Thalia takes a few seconds to hug the ground and be glad to be out before running after Janice

(From Yasmina) As Janis approaches the wildly bucking unicorn, six papercuts open up along her arm; they burn as if somebody poured lemon juice into them.

Janice says, "Ow!"

(From Yasmina) Janice, even

Janice says, "Stay back!"

Xaylia keeps running

[nobilis] Nathan says, "right, time to initiate operation hide-behind-Xaylia"

Janice asks, "There's something, I don't know, cutting ---?"

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "let's see what happens to me, first"

Nathan says, "..hunh"

Janice says, "Aw, shit, it's a unicorn."

Xaylia says, "poor ponies!"

Birralee is growling.

Nathan exclaims (at Birralee), "don't eat them!"

[nobilis] Janice asks (of GM), "Is there another unicorn around?"

Birralee says (to Nathan), "I would need more packmates to help me bring one down."

Birralee eyes everyone else speculatively.

(From Yasmina) Xaylia follows after Janice and her hand moves through the space where the alien presence is. Six red lines appear on her hand, with a burning flash of pain, and then pains and lines are gone. Blink and you miss it.

Birralee asks, "Is anyone else hungry?"

Janice says (to Birraliee), "We don't eat unicorns!"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "Yes, it's rearing and being fighty at something."

Xaylia says, "ow"

Nathan squints and tries to see what it's fighting with

Dara conjures up a cloud of dust, circling around where the unicorns are.

Birralee asks, "What is causing those cuts?"

Janice jogs warily over to the other unicorn.

Pete says, "I could do with a salami sanwich, but I don't think this is really the time."

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "can i shoot at the empty space that the unicorn is at?"

Xaylia stops, then prods her hand towards the unicorn again

[nobilis] Nathan says, "(does the weird spirit-sense vision show anything?)"

Thalia angrily paws her front hooves at the unicorn's injuries

Janice says, "Does anyone have a rope? Maybe we can pull it out of this whatever-it-is."

(From Yasmina) There's a distortion in the air, visible to both Sight and, after a moment, normal sight. It slices through the dust storm and for a moment it's visible as a collection of sharp lines wavering in the air.

Dara tosses a rope to Janice.

Thalia asks (of Janice), "want me to shoot it?"

Xaylia says (to Janice,Dara), "it's all sharp!"

(From Yasmina) The rearing unicorn comes down and stomps a hoof angrily, while the injured one is frothing with fear and pain.

Xaylia says, "the tope will get cut"

Janice makes a lassoo..

Xaylia says, "er rope"

Janice says, "Hrm, maybe."

Dara concentrates on keeping the dust cloud circling around the sharp lines.

Janice tries to lassoo the rearing unicorn.

Thalia aims carefully at the thing in front of the unicorn, not wanting to hurt the unicorn by mistake

Xaylia says (to sharpness), "STOP IT!"

Pete asks, "Is there anything it can't cut through?"

Thalia twangs the bow

Birralee steps cautiously towards the thing.

Pete says, "Double-ply corrugated ten-mil steel, maybe."

Dara varies the composition of the dust, trying to find something the lines can't cut. The dust shimmers in color as it changes to a variety of minerals and other substances.

Janice slowly approaches the angry unicorn, making soothing noises.

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "i guess i just wasted an arrow?"

[nobilis] Pete asks, "Is it actually leaving any injuries behind when it passes?"

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "I think we need to let the GM catch up"

[nobilis] Nathan says (to Pete), "well, it cut Janice"

[nobilis] Janice says, "I'm not so shiny, though."

[nobilis] Thalia says, "man. ability to heal would be so handy"

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "i wouldn't like to try staying in the middle of it"

(From Yasmina) TWANG goes the bow. The arrow soars through the space where the papercut monster is, and is chopped into many neat slices. At Xaylia's yell, the shifting lines slow for a minute and then drift closer to her. The dust sparkles, following it, but seems to only be sliced more and more fine, as if it's being run through a coffee grinder. But hey, at least this way it's easy to see.

Nathan says, "hrm"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "It is cutting things it touches and leaving those injuries behind, except on Xaylia, who heals them. Also, nobody Durant has been hit by it yet."

Thalia asks, "i just made more monsters?"

Xaylia walks into the cloud

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "(No)"

Nathan says (to Thalia), "I think it just got sliced up"

Xaylia says (to sharpness), "STOP HURTING THE PONY"

Janice says (to Xaylia), "No, wait! It's dangerous!"

[nobilis] Yasmina asks, "Into the thing itself, X, or just the dustcloud?"

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "into the thing"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "ok"

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "since I've been healing, I figure I can get out if I start not doing so"

Janice can only stick with the other unicorn and try to calm it.

Xaylia flinches slightly as she steps into the sharpness

Nathan asks (of Janice), "when I looked at you before, I thought I saw -- can't you, I dunno, make things less sharp?"

(From Yasmina) Xaylia has many red lines open and close on her. The entity settles around her, though, and there's a whispering.

Xaylia steps up to the unicorn, ignoring theitchy pain

[interludes2] * Yasmina has added Xaylia to the channel.

Janice says (to Nathan), "Uh, I don't know, maybe..."

Janice asks, "Fuck, what's she doing?"

Janice tries to blunt and soften the edge of the knives, as Nathan suggested.

Xaylia says (to unicorn), "it's okay, I want to help you"

[interludes2] Yasmina says, "While you're in it, you can hear it. //slash//lost//hungry//trapped//trapped//trapped//brightness//too much shape//"

Nathan steps closer to try and hear if it's a whispering of voices or just a noise

Xaylia says (to sharpness), "NOT HERE"

[interludes2] Xaylia says, "I want to try and tell it that it can leave"

Thalia asks (of janice), "can we forcibly take the fighting unicorn away from the sharpness?"

(From Yasmina) The sharpness recoils from the miracle Janice is creating.

Janice says (to Thalia), "That one's okay. We need to help Xaylia!"

[interludes2] Xaylia says, "and that it must leave to stop being lost or hungry or blinded"

Janice says, "I feel something happening!"

Dara changes tactics, dividing the dust cloud into two separate types of materials, to see if the sharpness perfers one to the other.

Thalia asks (of Dara), "cork maybe?"

Xaylia says (to sharpness), "leave here!"

[interludes2] Yasmina says, "//trapped//go home//here//where//where//"

Nathan says, "hey, look at that"

Janice says, "That's it, little knives, just slow down and take it easy."

Xaylia says (to sharpness), "AWAY"

[interludes2] Xaylia asks, "hm, can I get them to calm down enough to just move to an empty space?"

Janice tries to hear who Xaylia is talking to.

[interludes2] Xaylia says, "preferably with the dust still around them"

(From Yasmina) The injured unicorn is standing with its head between its legs, panting, while the uninjured one is calmer now, though still clearly terrified. It's also muttering under its breath.

Thalia walks over to the talking unicorn

Thalia listens in, you know, horse-to-horse

[nobilis] Dara asks, "If I want to do a different creation, I have to abandon the last one, right?"

Janice concentrates on persuading the knives that they really don't want to cut Xaylia up into tiny pieces right this minute.

[interludes2] Yasmina asks, "\\No\\no\\no (though that seems to be in response to whatever Janice is doing) \\where\\where\\where. Where do you want it to move to?"

Xaylia says (to Dara), "move the dust cloud to an empty space!"

Xaylia says (to sharpness), "follow the dust!"

Dara moves the dust cloud.

Xaylia says (to janice), "stop hurting it!"

Janice blinks, stops.

Janice asks (of Xaylia), "What did it say to you?"

Xaylia follows the dust cloud

(From Yasmina) The sharpness stays in the dust cloud, writhing furiously; Dara must keep generating new dust as the old dust is cut into finer and finer particles.

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "Usually a creation isn't a sustained miracle..."

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "GM (when you catch up) do I understand what the unicorn said?"

Janice rips up a chunk of earth.

Pete says, "If the miners have been using its eggs as paperweights, I think I've seen this episode."

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "oh yeah, hold on. everybody can, actually but you're close enough"

Janice says, "Somebody tell me if I shouldn't be doing this."

Janice starts throwing clumps of earth into the dust cloud, to feed the whatever-it-is.

[Crows-Nest] Yasmina asks, "Eggs as paperweights?"

[interludes2] Xaylia tries to soothe the sharpness

[Crows-Nest] Janice says, "Star Trek."

[interludes2] Xaylia says, "not hurting, helping"

[Crows-Nest] Yasmina exclaims, "I am unoriginal apparently!"

[Crows-Nest] Pete says, "Cf. 'I'm a doctor, not a bricklayer'."

[Crows-Nest] Janice says, "Angry alien mother."

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says, "hee hee"

[Crows-Nest] Pete asks (of GM), "You mean, the miners really *are* using its eggs as paperweights?"

[Crows-Nest] Xaylia says, "man, that would make my conversation a lot shorter"

(From Yasmina) The muttering unicorn-- the female-- is cursing angrily under her breath, cursing the goddess that made her and then left her here, and males who fight rather than run.

[Crows-Nest] Yasmina says, "Oh ah no."

Janice asks (of Xaylia), "Mind telling us what happened there?"

[Crows-Nest] Xaylia asks, "the other unicorn is out of the sharpness now, no?"

Thalia pats the unicorn on the neck. "Men, I know. Men."

[interludes2] Yasmina says, "\\too much\\too much\\too much\\"

[Crows-Nest] Yasmina says, "yes"

Xaylia says (to Janice), "(from inside the spinning sharpness) in a second"

Birralee says, "I am extremely confused."

[interludes2] Xaylia asks, "too much what?"

Pete says, "You're not the only one, furball."

[interludes2] Xaylia asks, "too much light?"

Dara says (to Birralee), "Hey, there's a spinning dust cloud."

[interludes2] Yasmina says, "You get the sense that it's in the same kind of panic that the unicorn was in earlier, but unfortunately, it's not really clear how to calm it. It seems to be feeling completely trapped by all the... matter around it."

Dara asks, "What's not to understand?"

Thalia asks (of berry), "hm. can you do the vortex thing against that thing?"

Xaylia says, "it's in pain"

Xaylia says, "don't hurt it any more"

Thalia asks, "what is it?"

Xaylia says, "I don't know, but it says it's trapped"

Dara says (to Xalia), "Does the dust help/"

Xaylia says (to Dara), "to see where it is, yes"

Janice asks (of Xaylia), "Trapped how?"

Xaylia says, "I DON'T KNOW"

[interludes2] Yasmina says, "The dust is irrelevant, just another form of matter."

Dara divines the path the sharpness took to get here.

Pete winces.

Xaylia says, "trapped by being here"

Yasmina says (to Dara), "Its path stretches back before the chancel began. There's still a mess at the beginning you don't understand."

Janice asks (of Birralee), "Hey there, zephyr boy. Can you make this thing stop spinning?"

[interludes2] Xaylia tries to soothe it, and tells it to wait while she works out how to help it

Xaylia asks, "didn't Dara say there was space outside the world?"

Xaylia says, "I think it comes from somewhere like that, without so much STUFF around to trap it"

Birralee says, "I--I'm not sure."

Birralee asks, "DOes it want to stop spinning?"

Nathan says, "hmm"

Nathan asks, "is it safe to try and let it out again?"

[nobilis] Yasmina asks, "is Nathan really the only Durant person?"

Janice says (to Birralee), "That is actually a good question."

[nobilis] Nathan flexes

[interludes2] Xaylia tries to work out if the spinning is making it worse

[nobilis] Nathan says, "I think everyone else took fly so they wouldn't fall into any bottomless gorges"

[nobilis] Xaylia asks, "immortal = eternal + durant, no?"

[nobilis] Janice says, "If there's any bottomless gorges I'll be falling in them and being horribly injured and stuff."

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "wait, I'm on crack"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "Immortal is its own thing"

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "right, I just checked"

Xaylia says, "I don't think stopping it spinning will do anything"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "For ref, Janice, your cuts don't even represent a wound level. Since you have many many deadly wound levels and this isn't a deadly wound and the others don't count until it is"

Janice says (to Nathan), "Seems like a reasonable plan, unless you're fond of unicorn smoothies."

Nathan says, "mm, smoothie"

Dara *shifts* again, into a... giant slinky? The slinky begins to stretch up to the stratosphere.

[nobilis] Janice says, "Right, I figured."

Nathan says (to Dara), "er, can you -- oh."

Birralee asks (of Janice), "Please, what is a smoothie?"

[nobilis] Janice says, "It's more of an ouchy ouchy distraction."

[nobilis] Dara says, "Inside the slinky is a vacuum, and it's wide enough for the cutting bits to travel inside."

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "hm, wait, I'm looking in the book"

Nathan asks, "so, er, is this the alien presence or not?"

[nobilis] Birralee says, "I can't wait for Birralee to hear of the idea of a unicorn smoothie"

[nobilis] Nathan says, "ha ha ha"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "This is the alien presence, yes."

[nobilis] Nathan says, "I am now imagining Birralee's kitchen being nothing but a giant blender"

[nobilis] Birralee laughs.

[nobilis] Dara laughs.

Janice says (to Birralee), "It's like a delicious drink made with fresh fruit and stuff."

Nathan says, "and unicorns"

Janice says (to Birralee), "NOT unicorn."

Birralee asks, "Are these unicors fruit?"

Birralee says, "Oh."

Dara whispers (to the sharpness) "This way. Less stuff."

Janice says, "You can make it with monkeys, though."

[interludes2] Xaylia asks (of spinnsharpness), "if we take you away from the matter, will you be happy?"

[interludes2] Yasmina says, "\\how\\how\\"

[interludes2] Xaylia says, "if so, follow the winged girl"

Janice says, "You know, I've never seen a giant slinky save the world before."

[interludes2] Xaylia says, "the spiral has no matter inside, so follow it"

[nobilis] Dara laughs.

Xaylia says (to janice), "you should watch better cartoons"

Thalia is chatting with the female unicorn, since she is no longer muttering angrily

Pete asks, "There were supposed to be some empty spaces, right?"

Janice says, "This day has been pretty educational, in kind of a more-psychedelic-than-usual Sesame Street episode kind of way."

Pete asks, "A coupla' voids of ssome kind?"

[interludes2] Xaylia says, "go up inside it"

Pete says, "It'd prob'ly be happy there."

(From Yasmina) The distortion in the air moves slowly towards the spiral. Dara, moving up, encounters the limit of her domain, which she can move beyond, but... not easily. Just how far is she planning on going?

Dara's voice emanates from the slinky. "Hey, you're right."

Nathan says (to Pete), "hey, good point"

Janice says, "*Talking* giant slinky."

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "(Sorry I haven't been playing the female unicorn more. She will go tend to her boy, I'll describe it)"

Xaylia scratches absently as her last set of cuts heal

[nobilis] Dara asks, "This is a shapeshifting thing, not a realm thing. Does that make a difference?"

(From Yasmina) The female unicorn whuffs agreement to Thalia and stomps over to the male unicorn and starts running her horn along his wounds, each one sealing up as she does.

[nobilis] Thalia says, "'sokay. i am just feeling superfluous in the alien rescue so i am just typing in filler"

[nobilis] Janice says, "Ditto."

[nobilis] Yasmina asks, "Where are you going with this? Kicking it out of your realm? Taking it to the wall?"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "(Sorry!)"

[interludes2] Xaylia says, "she will lead you to empty space somewhere"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "(I'm still getting the hang of this some...)"

[nobilis] Dara says, "I was thinking of just the vacuum of space."

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "I'd rather she took it somewhere voidlike and vacuumish, yes"

[nobilis] Yasmina asks, "Whee. Good time to discover that doesn't really exist, hey?"

[nobilis] Dara grins.

[nobilis] Xaylia asks, "there are voids, though, aren't there?"

[nobilis] Birralee asks, "just to see if I'm following along: this alien thing is lost, and not really all that mad at us per se?"

Dara prods the outer limits of the realm, is nonplussed to discover there's no vacuum at the end of it.

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "right"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "Not inside creation, really, no."

[nobilis] Yasmina exclaims, "Science is a lie! Muahahahahhahhahah!"

Dara tries to sense where that void got off to.

[nobilis] Birralee asks, "so we need to tear a hole in reality and shove this guy back through?"

[nobilis] Xaylia asks (of yasmina), "hm. beyond the wall?"

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "great, whatta expedition"

[nobilis] Birralee says, "I thought y'all's domain has RIFT IN THE SPACE TIME CONTINUUM as one of its gifts"

[nobilis] Birralee says, "s/domain/chancel/"

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "oh, hey, yes"

[nobilis] Pete says (to Birralee), "Sure, like we'd know that."

[nobilis] Dara says, "No, but I can reverse the polarity of the neutron flow."

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "but we don't know where it is yet"

(From Yasmina) Wow, like, that entire void is a giant illusion that the /spirit of the Earth/ conjured up to explain some great disaster a long time ago, sort of like how an abused kid might develop multiple personalities. There /might/ be a void outside the Weirding Wall... or /something/.

[nobilis] Birralee says (to Pete), "seems like the kind of thing Dara would sense"

[nobilis] Birralee says, "heck, she could sense the ability to make wings"

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "okay, I think i need to explain to the sharpness that this might take longer than I thought"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "Plus, hey, speaking of tearing holes in reality, lemme know when you wanna do a divination on what it, running loose, will do to the realm eventually."

Dara goes ahead and stretches out to that wall she felt.

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "uh-oh"

[nobilis] Janice says (to Xaylia), "This is the scariest six-year-old girl's imaginary friend ever."

[nobilis] Janice says, "Especially as it's not imaginary and slices up unicorns, also not imaginary."

[nobilis] Nathan says, "my"

[nobilis] Janice says, "The unicorns I like, though."

Xaylia frowns

Xaylia says, "I don't know where we can send it if there's nowhere without stuff"

(From Yasmina) Those on the ground notice when the spiral that is Dara loses contact with the ground and begins rising into the air, as if she's lost her grip somehow.

Xaylia says, "uh"

Nathan exclaims (at Dara), "hey, watch out!"

Xaylia tries to grab hold of the end of the spiral

Pete asks, "Is she supposed to be doing that?"

Xaylia says, "I don't think so"

[interludes] Yasmina says, "Whee! You can't stretch from earth to the Weirding Wall, sorry. Simply not doable in that kind of single action."

Pete flies after it, to hold her down.

Janice throws the rope up to Pete.

Janice says, "One end of it, anyway."

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "(For reference, this is not a problem I expect you to find a permanent solution to right this minute.)"

Pete ties it to Dara.

Yasmina says, "Right, so, Janice has a Dara-on-a-string."

Janice says, "Just what I always wanted."

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "yeah, but I'd kind of like not to have a giant invisible shredder hanging around"

[nobilis] Birralee asks, "can it go in my kitchen?"

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "especially one in a bad mood"

Janice says, "Okay, even though I've been working out a lot, there's not much I can do it Dara lifts me right off the ground."

Janice asks, "So, anybody see anything I could tie this to?"

Pete says, "That's when we tie a rope to you."

[nobilis] Yasmina pokes at Dara. Did you get disconnected again?

Pete says, "And get the groundhog to hold it."

[nobilis] Janice asks, "Ferris is around being strong and silent, right?"

Nathan asks, "we touched down in the forest, didn't we?"

[nobilis] Pete says, "And probably heavy."

Nathan asks, "isn't there a tree somewhere around here?"

Thalia says, "i am heavy. let me hang on to it until we find a strong tree to tie too"

Thalia says, "er to"

(From Yasmina) There's a whole forest off to the left, yeah.

Xaylia says (to nathan), "you think dara couldn't lift a tree? I think janice could"

Janice says (to Thalia), "Okay, here."

Janice runs off to the forest.

Janice runs back holding a tree.

Xaylia asks, "see?"

Janice says, "Hmm, wait."

Thalia takes the rope and is startled at how hard it is to hang on

[Crows-Nest] Yasmina laughs!

Pete says, "I think I'm going to take a look around."

Thalia digs in her hooves

Janice shrugs, ties the rope to the tree.

Xaylia watches the tree lift gently into the air

Pete flies up a ways, to get a good aerial view of the surrounding area.

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "I think if Dara does not return soon, we must stop here, all cliff-hangery, so I can prepare for tea-ness."

Thalia says (to xaylia), "i am still holding on the rope"

Xaylia says (to thalia), "oh, good"

Janice says (to tree), "Come back here, you bastard."

Janice says, "Er, dastard."

(From Yasmina) Pete sees a farmhouse literally sprout from the ground like a mushroom some distance away.

[Crows-Nest] Dara says, "back--sorry, got disconnected there for a while."

Pete is particularly curious where the rest of the world went to, and what it's been replaced by.

Thalia asks (of Pete), "ahoy! do we have a cave or something to wedge it in?"

Birralee says, "Hm. If I could fly up and down by turning into a tornado..."

Thalia says, "the tree, i mean"

Birralee tries turning into a vortex that is sucking air down into its center and out its side, which has the unfortunate effect of pushing other people away.

[Crows-Nest] Thalia says, "next outing, i pack soap in my knapsack for Janice"

Pete says (to Thalia), "We could tie it to that house over there."

[Crows-Nest] Janice says, "Hey, I'm perfectly clean."

(From Yasmina) It's forest and farmland almost as far as the eye can see, with a cityscape in one direction, a forest in another, and... edges on the other sides.

[Crows-Nest] Thalia says, "the mouth isn't. not near a child, especially"

[Crows-Nest] Xaylia says, "la la la I learned lots of new words today"

Thalia asks (of Pete), "does the house look more stable than the tree?"

Pete says, "Not really, no."

Pete says, "I think Ferris is probably the most stable thing here."

[nobilis] Birralee says, "if the vortex idea isn't going to work, I need to find out before everyone has to fly to avoid being blown away"

[nobilis] Thalia asks, "if i walk with the rope, does dara get dragged along like a kite? or is the rope long enough?"

Dara asks (of sharpness), "Where's a good place to take you? Where's your home?"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "also, does Ferris have creation? maybe he can create an iron post that's strong enough not to get dragged"

Xaylia sits on the floor and watches

[nobilis] Pete says, "I think he has Domain 3."

[nobilis] Dara says, "What are you trying to do? Stop Dara? I can stop if you like."

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "Ferris is the best idea here. He's got preservation, and he's iron and he has metaphorical roots into the land. So. We can ghost him being a pillar of strength."

[nobilis] Yasmina exclaims, "Birralee, don't blow everybody away!"

[nobilis] Birralee says, "aw"

[nobilis] Birralee spins down.

Thalia ties the rope about Ferris' waist

Thalia says, "thanks boy"

Birralee spins back down.

[nobilis] Thalia says (to Dara), "stop you from flying away from us"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "you do whatever you need to do - just to keep you anchored somehow"

(From Yasmina) Unfortunately, Dara is containing the sharpness but not in it, so communication is not entirely possible. It does seem a bit happier inside her vaccuum though. But Dara is also no longer in contact with the ground or her Realm because she tried to stretch much farther than a single miracle would let her, off into Treespace.

[Crows-Nest] Xaylia says, "afk temporarily"

[nobilis] Dara says, "Got it, thanks."

(From Yasmina) The only thing stopping her from getting lost in Treespace and having to find her way back is her chancelmates.

[Crows-Nest] Yasmina says, "Man, that's a concept for a wacky tv show right there. Lost on a gigantic tree with only a papercut monster for company.\"

Pete says, "Luckily, we have a Rope."

(From Yasmina) Also, it seems clear that the papercut monster can get bigger or smaller at will.

[Crows-Nest] Dara says, "As a giant slinky."

(From Yasmina) (from the way it fit inside of Dara's slinky)

Janice asks (of Dara), "Hey, how you doing up there?"

Pete says, "I wonder if it would fit inside a vacuum tube."

Janice asks, "What, you mean make a little house for it instead of trying to shoot it into space?"

Pete says, "Well, for the time being."

Nathan says (to Pete), "hey, good idea"

[nobilis] Dara asks, "Am I anchored yet?"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "yeah to ferris"

[nobilis] Yasmina asks, "Have you stopped trying to reach the wall yet?"

Dara . o O ( Whoops, that didn't work. )

[nobilis] (from Pete) Dara says, "Can I do realm miracles through him, then?"

Dara says (to Ferris), "Thanks."

[nobilis] Thalia says, "i figure it will do UK-ers some good"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "ilac"

Dara asks (of papercut), "Would you like a home in my realm for now? Somewhere there's no--things, to get in the way?"

[nobilis] Yasmina asks, "Are you moving inside it to ask this?"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "That is currently the only way to communicate with it"

[nobilis] Dara says, "I wasn't, no."

[nobilis] Pete wonders if it's able to injure smoke.

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "Okay, no response then."

Janice asks (of Birralee), "Hey, if we made a home for the evil unicorn-slicing mon -- er, the lost alien, could you suck all the air out of it?"

[Crows-Nest] Xaylia asks, "can someone with durant and aspect climb up the rope and inside it?"

Birralee says, "Hm. I think so"

Birralee says, "But you would have to have a way to keep it from rushing back in"

[Crows-Nest] Xaylia says, "I don't think I can, because I'm a weedy little girl"

[Crows-Nest] Pete says, "No Durant here."

Janice says, "Well, we could get Metal Mickey here to seal it over, or something."

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says, "I could, but I don't know I have Durant"

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says, "(I think)"

[Crows-Nest] Janice says (to Xaylia), "I'll carry you up."

[Crows-Nest] Xaylia says (to Janice), "okay"

Dara retracts, makes herself into a loop the alien can circle around in for a while.

[Crows-Nest] Yasmina exclaims (at Nathan), "Aw. Dunno how to show you except through experience!"

[Crows-Nest] Xaylia asks, "is Dara still on the end of the rope or back on earth?"

Dara asks (of Xalia), "(in an odd way, as if the wires of the slinky are vibrating) "How did you get to talk to it?"

Xaylia asks, "can someone help me get inside the sharpness?"

[Crows-Nest] Pete says (to Yasmina), "Cue anvil."

Xaylia says, "I can't climb very well"

Janice asks, "Hmm, are you sure it's safe?"

Nathan says, "er"

Nathan looks up the rope

Xaylia says, "I'll be okau"

Xaylia says, "er, okay"

[Crows-Nest] Birralee says (to Nathan), "have Janice accidentally throw you into the alien and you'll suddenly learn more about your powers"

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says, "hee hee"

[Crows-Nest] Janice says, "Hee hee hee."

Xaylia says, "it stings a bit, but I'll be okay"

Janice lifts Xaylia up, then.

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says, "hmm, good thing nobody here is the practical-joking power of lemon juice"

Xaylia says, "and it can't talk unless I'm inside"

[Crows-Nest] Dara exclaims, "Ow!"

Janice asks, "Wait, can't some of you people fly?"

Xaylia climbs into Dara and the sharpness

Birralee says, "I can, sort of"

Birralee says, "It's all whirly."

[Crows-Nest] Yasmina exclaims, "Well I already said the cuts hurt like lemon-juice was poured i them!"

Xaylia says (to sharpness), "we're going to make you a home here until we can get you home"

Pete says, "Sure. I can brig you up, if you like."

[nobilis] Janice says, "I just meant I pick her up, not climb the rope, but whatever."

[Crows-Nest] Nathan says, "hey, good point"

[nobilis] Nathan exclaims (at Janice), "your characters are always trying to pick people up!"

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "hah hah ew I'm like 6 years old"

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "smooching is all icky"

[nobilis] Janice says, "And I seem to be a woman all of a sudden, so sheesh."

[nobilis] Pete says, "That's worse than flirting with Alison."

(From Yasmina) moved//sleep//bored//home//lost//eat//. It doesn't seem /adverse/ to the idea, at least.

Xaylia says (to sharpness), "it won't be for very long, I promise"

Xaylia says (to sharpness), "you can sleep inside it"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "(warning, i am off in 4 minutes, to get food ready for sunset)"

[nobilis] Janice says, "Seems like Ferris would be the best person to make a home -- a sealed metal ball or something."

[nobilis] Janice says, "Unless anyone else has a bright idea."

[nobilis] Pete says, "I was thinking Dara."

[nobilis] Janice says, "I don't like relying on the guy who's not here."

[nobilis] Dara says, "I can create something."

[nobilis] Yasmina asks, "Why don't we break here and make the house next week? Wait, are we playing next week?"

[nobilis] Pete asks, "Doesn't she have Realm >4?"

[nobilis] Xaylia asks, "Dara can make a home, no?"

[nobilis] Birralee says, "Dara can make a *house*. Only the alien can make it a home."

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "(Since I have to go get dressed and stuff) Yeah, Dara can generate something."

[nobilis] Pete asks (of Yasmina), "Any reason why we wouldn't be?"

[nobilis] Janice says, "We can be around next week."

[nobilis] Birralee says, "I will not be around next Saturday."

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "dunno who will be here 'cause of Thanksgiving"

[nobilis] Janice says, "Oh ah."

[nobilis] Pete says, "Oh, right, holiday weekend."

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "oh, that"

[nobilis] Nathan says, "I won't be, but feel free to go on without me"

Dara waits for Xalia to move out of the thing, then forms a vacuum-sealed transparent fortified aluminum house around it.

[nobilis] Pete says, "But I'm fine with Saturday."

[nobilis] Dara says, "Er, Xaylia."

Xaylia slides back down the rope

Xaylia says, "whee!"

Xaylia *thud* into the ground

Janice says (to Dara), "Wow, you're versatile."

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "I'd sort of like to have everybody together for at least one session, and I have guests next weekend (though they can do without me for a few hours) so... we have uh... at least two people not present, and I dunno Rob or maga's plans... so... let's discuss later, I guess, though I'm tending towards next session in two weeks"

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "okay"

[nobilis] Janice says, "Fine."

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "(Whic should end the chancel-forming story and go on into next story thing)"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "ok"

[nobilis] Nathan asks (of Yasmina), "speaking of times, I thought you had said before that you had some other game on the weekends -- is that not at the same time as this?"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "I have one game on Sundays that doesn't interfere and I sort of have a game on Saturdays but when it happens it will start at like 3 or 4."

Dara retreats down the rope, then *shifts* back to a form fairly close to what she was before. Slightly different colored eyes this time, though.

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "(and I play, not run)"

Janice says, "Man, this has been a busy day."

Janice says, "I could eat a, well, practically anything other than a horse."

Thalia says (to Janice), "thank you"

Dara says (to Janice), "I am here, at least."

Nathan says (to Janice), "ask Dara for a sandwich"

Xaylia says, "I'm not hungry"

Nathan says (to Janice), "and if you do have a horse, give it to Birralee"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "Whee, a successful log with my whispers."

Janice asks (of Dara), "You have sandwiches?"

Dara exclaims, "Sure!"

[nobilis] Thalia says, "okay, off"

Thalia goes home.

Dara says, "Right over there, behind you."

Janice turns.

Xaylia looks around

[nobilis] (from Nathan) Janice SPLAT

Xaylia says, "I guess I should be waking up soon"

[nobilis] Janice says, "Hee hee."

Dara points to a table with a complete picnic ready and waiting on it.

Birralee lumbers over to the table and tries to see what's on it.

Janice blinks.

[nobilis] Yasmina asks, "By the way, was it a full-sized aluminum vaccum-sealed house?"

Janice quickly walks over before Birralee eats the table.

Birralee hop hop hop.

Nathan looks a little suspiciously at the food, then shrugs and has a bite.

Janice surreptitiously holds Birralee down.

Birralee hop hop crackle unfold

Birralee says, "Ow."

[nobilis] Yasmina exclaims, "Yay!"

Birralee asks, "Why do I suddenly look like the rest of you?"

Xaylia says, "you really *are* a magic rat!"

[nobilis] Janice asks, "What does he look like?"

Xaylia says, "and I told you you had human parts"

[nobilis] Dara says, "Maybe room-sized? Enough room for whatever size the thing usually took."

[nobilis] Birralee says (to Janice), "thankfully I now match my desc"

Birralee stands on unsteady legs.

Birralee says, "The world is much shorter from up here."

Nathan looks suspiciously at Birralee

Janice asks (of Birralee), "Who the fucking hell are you pardon my french?"

[nobilis] Yasmina exclaims, "Okay. I will write down 'vaccuum sealed aluminum shed in one of the unicorn meadows' on my notes!"

[nobilis] Nathan says, "ha ha ha"

Xaylia says (to birralee), "you look kind of like that wizard in that movie"

[nobilis] Dara laughs.

Pete asks, "Did he have glasses on before?"

[nobilis] Dara says, "That's fortified transparent aluminum, don't forget ;-)"

Birralee says (to Janice), "I'm Birralee! A -- well, right now I seem to look like a people."

Janice says (to Birralee), "Oh. Uh. Well, hi, I'm Janice."

Dara tries to sense if that void is still lurking around somewhere.

Birralee feels his face and finds a metal-and-glass contraption perched there.

Janice says, "Don't eat those."

Pete offers Birralee a chicken leg.

Janice asks, "So has anyone here not changed into some other form at some point?"

Xaylia says (to birralee), "being a person is fun, most of the time"

Janice says, "You know, apart from me."

Birralee exclaims (at Pete), "Thank you!"

Pete says (to Janice), "That would be Nathan, and you two."

Xaylia says, "now you can play hopscotch with me"

Xaylia says (to Janice), "me"

Birralee gingerly takes the chicken leg in a hand. "These forepaws are useful."

Nathan says, "I don't seem like I'm going to change form any time soon"

Nathan shrugs

Nathan says, "But you never know"

Pete says (to Janice), "I'm pretty sure Nathan is probably going to become a gnome by tomorrow, though."

Nathan says, "very funny, genie-boy"

Janice shrugs, finally eats a sandwich.

Pete says, "I wonder if this sort of thing is reversible."

Xaylia asks (of pete), "you're a genie?"

Janice says (to Pete), "It's best just to go with the flow, take it from me."

[nobilis] Nathan says, "hee hee"

Pete says (to Xaylia), "That's what they tell me. I've even got my own bottle."

Xaylia says, "I wish for, um, um, a dollie"

Pete exclaims, "Hocus pocus!"

Nathan says, "Thalia had that doll"

Xaylia says, "because I don't think I'm going to get my toys back any time soon"

Pete says (to Xaylia), "(Did it work?)"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "(Dara did, actually)"

Birralee says (to Xaylia), "I have a chicken bone, if you want it. Youngsters in my pack played with these all the time."

Pete says, "Ah. Might have to do it the hard way, then."

[nobilis] Nathan says (to Birralee), "ha ha ha"

Nathan asks, "hrm, or was it Dara?"

Xaylia says (to birralee), "ew, bones"

[nobilis] Janice asks, "Wait, is Birralee wearing anything?"

Dara says, "Oh, hey."

Dara pulls out the doll she picked up from her destroyed house.

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "glasses and NOT A LOT MORE"

[nobilis] Pete says, "We're going to assume yes, and then pretend that question was never asked."

[nobilis] Nathan says (to Janice), "if this is leading up to another pickup line .."

[nobilis] Birralee laughs and laughs.

Xaylia says (to Dara), "hey, a doll"

[nobilis] Birralee says, "As if offering splintery chicken bones to children weren't bad enough"

[nobilis] Nathan says, ""those glasses look great on you, can I talk you out of them?""

Pete exclaims, "Ta-da!"

Dara asks (of Xaylia), "Would you like it?"

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "heehee"

Pete takes a bow.

Xaylia says (to Dara), "yes please"

Xaylia says, "if you don't want it any more, anyway"

Dara gives it to Xaylia.

Xaylia says (to pete), "well done"

Janice yawns.

Dara says, "I'm not exactly sure where it came from, but you're welcome to it."

Xaylia says (to pete), "you're a very good genie indeed"

Xaylia takes the doll

Pete says, "Thank you."

[nobilis] Xaylia asks, "this is the entropy plushie? or just a doll?"

Janice says, "Hmm, while you're magicking things up, I could probably use a new outfit."

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "This is just a ragdoll, sadly"

Xaylia says (to Dara), "thank you"

Janice pulls twigs out of her pockets.

[nobilis] Nathan says, "ok, I've got to split and do tea things myself"

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "okay"

Birralee is busy sampling the new-to-him potato salad.

Nathan has disconnected.

Dara says, "Sure."

Xaylia cuddles the dollie

Xaylia says, "I think I'll call it... Ximba"

[nobilis] Janice says, "Hee hee."

Dara pulls out a suitcase from under the table, hands it to Janice.

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "I must get dressed, though you guys can continue having fun."

[nobilis] Pete asks, "I imagine this is where we're breaking for the day, to return after picanicking?"

[nobilis] Pete says, "TIming."

[nobilis] Dara asks, "Is that void still around?"

[nobilis] Janice says, "I guess."

Janice says, "Woo, harem pants."

[nobilis] Pete asks, "Did I mention before that I really, really hope Janice has shapeshifting?"

[nobilis] Janice asks, "Hmmm?"

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "snrk"

[nobilis] Yasmina says, "The void is still around. Quite close, actually, but I forget to do my cliffhanger before everybody left, so oh well. :-)"

[nobilis] Birralee says, "Okay, I've got to go. Assume I'm still sampling all of the food."

Birralee has disconnected.

[nobilis] Dara laughs.

Janice sneaks off to try on some clothes.

[nobilis] Xaylia says, "yeah, i think we'll call it a day"
