[colonial] PerrySimm says, "Log on."

Governor clears throat, starts theme music.

Governor says, "The curtain goes up on the harbour of San Cristobal, where the Narcissus, captained by a Captain Jonas Clemm is in dock."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "The ship set ground on the shore of this deserted desert isle. With Brianna, Alonso too. The Governor, and Tymen. Reginald, and that's just all that there were, here on 7th Sea Isle."

Governor says (to Brianna), "You've been signed onto the Narcissus for security. You know why."

[Crows-Nest] (from Tymen) Profesor_Jinquele says, "I think your allusion may have been more appropriate were the specific episode selected be one of this same moderators different and previous examples."

[Crows-Nest] Eolo says, "hee hee"

Governor says, "The Narcissus sails in about an hour for the Southern Mirror. I seem to recall most/all of you having passage in that direction, for one reason or another...."

Alonso says, "Yes, and I'll be glad to finally be underway."

Tymen says, "This ship should do as well as any."

Reginald wanders around the docks, looking vaguely lost.

(From Governor) Jonas Clemm stands on deck, watching his sailors at work.

Governor says (to Reginald), "You are approached by a young woman with curly brown hair and brown eyes so light they're almost yellow...."

Reginald doesn't seem to notice immediately.

Tymen catches the arm of one of the sailors getting on or off the ship.

(From Governor) Woman says (to Reginald), "Excuse me, sir."

Reginald mutters, "The Nostromo... no, that's not right..."

(From Governor) Sailor says, "what?"

Reginald turns. "Yes, miss?"

Tymen asks (of Sailor), "Are you taking passengers? Or in need of inexperienced seamen?"

(From Governor) Woman: "Excuse me. I understand you have passage on that ship there, sailing for the Southern Mirror? I'd like to book a passage.

(From Governor) Sailor: "You better speak to the boss" (nods in Clemm's direction.)

Eolo has disconnected.

Tymen says, "Thanks."

Tymen heads over to the boss.

Alonso wanders over to Clemm. "I understand we'll be leaving soon, yes?"

(From Governor) Clemm: "Aye..."

Reginald says (to Woman), "Ah, well, ahem, yes; I am in fact trying to head off in that general direction. I'm afraid I can't personally sell you a ticket, but I can certainly ask on your behalf, I suppose, if you like, that is to say, I guess."

CoCGM has connected.

CoCGM walks the plank to adventure. Arr!

CoCGM arrives, looking for booty.

Tymen asks (of Clemm), "I was wondering, are you in need of any extra crewmen?"

(From Governor) Woman: "Thank you ever so much."

Reginald offers to take the woman's luggage, if she in fact has any, with as much grace as he can muster.

Alonso says, "Good, good."

(From Governor) Clemm: "Hm? I'm afraid I have all the crewmen I can afford right now. Have you tried the want ads?"

Tymen asks, "Ah, well, if you don't need crew, are you taking passengers?"

Governor says (to Reginald), "She has a small bag which she lets you pick up without a word."

(From Governor) Clemm: ah, passengers? That's different. Can ye afford it, though?

Reginald juggles the various bits of luggage and sundries for a moment, then staggers up the gangplank of the Narcissus.

Tymen asks, "I don't know. What's it cost?"

(From Governor) Clemm sizes Tymen up. "Hmmm ... 50 guilders.

Tymen says, "Hmm. Fifty guilders for a proper stateroom? Fair enough."

Reginald tries to gracefully put everything down on the deck of the ship, and mostly succeeds, although he drops one chest a bit too hard and a sack of books half-spills open.

Alonso walks up the gangplank just in time to see Reginald's one-man act.

Alonso gathers some of the books. "Here, let me help. A man of learning?"

[Crows-Nest] CoCGM says, "It's Shakespeares' new work, "Gay Boys in Bondage""

Tymen asks, "Should I pay the purser, or you directly?"

Reginald says (to Alonso), "Ah, yes, quite so, sir."

(From Governor) Clemm Just hand the cash over, I'll handle it from here.

Alonso looks at the titles of some of the books as he gathers them up.

(From Governor) Clemm: "Just hand the cash over, I'll handle it from here.

(From Governor) Clemm: "Just hand the cash over, I'll handle it from here.

[colonial] Governor says, "grf."

[colonial] Alonso says, "Really, this is much easier with three or four windows, one per NPC."

Tymen counts out ten doubloons. "Very good. Here you are."

Reginald says, "Alonso sees such stirring works as 'Being a Treatise Upon the Most Varied Sorts of Plants Upon the Face of Thean'"

Alonso says, "These are quite thick. You do know they won't keep you afloat should the boat founder."

Reginald notices the captain is otherwise engaged at the moment.

(From Governor) Clemm (eyeing the woman who came up with Reginald): "And who's this?"

Reginald says (to Alonso), "I'd rather not discuss such unseemly possibilities."

Alonso says, "Ah. And from these books I thought you a scientist."

Reginald says (to Clemm), "Ah, hello, umm, Captain. Reginald Cox, a true pleasure to meet you. Ummm, surely Mr. Fletcher told you of my assistant? Couldn't, uhh, find a thing without her, really."

(From Governor) Clemm says, "I got payment for one man's passage."

Alonso says (to Clemm), "Really, sir, must this take so long? Even Senor Cox here could have rowed us to our destination by now."

Reginald says, "Oh, dear. Well. That's rather inconvenient, erm, is it not."

Brianna strides across the deck to join the boarding party.

(From Governor) Woman says, "That's alright. I've been saving."

Reginald says, "Ah, very good then."

Governor says (to Brianna), "there seem to be one or two more passengers than expected."

(From Governor) The woman takes out a little pouch and opens it, revealing exactly enough to pay the fare.

Brianna says (to all), "Greetings."

Reginald says (to Alonso), "Merely finding someone who can read at all these days seems like candidacy for tenure, I'm sure, sir."

Reginald grapples onto all his belongings again.

Brianna asks (of Governor), "How much more room does do you have?"

Reginald says (to Clemm), "If you... could... erm... <grunt>... direct me to my quarters, sir, I shall... <uhh> settle in."

Brianna easily assists Reginald with his packages.

(From Governor) Clemm: "hrf. I've got to a ship to sail. I think Brianna here could handle the lodgings, eh?"

Reginald says (to Brianna), "I say, please be careful with that. It's very fragile and expensive."

Brianna says (to Reginald), "There you are sir. I suggest you find a porter or your room fairly quickly."

Alonso . o O ( fragile and expensive? )

Reginald says (to Brianna), "That is my plan, yes. I say, Porter? Porter? To the gangplank for paying customer's service, please. Uhgg"

Brianna says (to Reginald), "Then you best find someone to look after it."

Reginald's knees start to tremble.

Alonso bows to Brianna. "My apologies for not introducing myself before now. I am Alonso Reyes."

Reginald says, "Yes, quite so, thanks for all your assistance, should be on my way now, see you around eh what."

Brianna asks (of Woman), "Ma'am I'm afraid we haven't room for extra passengars. Might you board with your employer?"

Reginald staggers away from the gangplank in essentially a random direction.

Reginald says, "OH MY NO THAT WOULD BE... uhh... perfectly acceptable, yes."

Brianna nods to Alonso. "I am Sgt. Brianna. Pleased to meet you."

(From Governor) Woman says, "oh, I'll find room. If you don't mind, perhaps I could take one of the extra rooms until it is filled later?"

Alonso asks, "Ah, a sergeant. With what service?"

CoCGM has disconnected.

Reginald asks random deckhand, "Is my cabin around here somewhere? Steward?"

Brianna says (to Alonso), "I am with the army, but have served on ships fairly frequently."

Governor says (to Reginald), "The sailors run around, refusing to meet your eye."

Brianna asks (of Reginald), "You seem a bit unsteady sir. Are you unwell?"

Alonso takes Brianna's hand. "A pleasure to meet you. I trust we will not have need of your martial skills while en route."

(From Governor) There is a lurch as the ship begins to move.

Reginald grunts mostly incoherently by now, "...below...decks...cabin...mine...aiiiieeee

Tymen says (aside, to the Captain), "Is there a porter I should see about which room is mine?"

Alonso sighs and picks up some of Reginald's bags. "Here, let me assist. Where is your room?"

Reginald falls over in a heap.

Reginald says (to Alonso), "As God as my witness, sir, I do not know."

Brianna removes her hand from Alonso. I have every confidence things will proceed smoothly.

Alonso says, "As I am a priest, I can serve as witness without you needing to call on Theus, thank you."

(From Governor) Clemm (to Tymen): "Take whichever passenger room you want. They're down that hatch there."

Reginald says, "Ah, yes, well then. I'll just gather my things and head below."

Reginald stacks up his belongings yet again.

Alonso says, "I have some of them. Come; it sounds as if you can take any unoccupied room."

Brianna lifts Reginald to (and almost off) his feet, and sets him down gently. She points in the direction he should go. "Second door on the right."

Tymen nods to Clemm, and heads down the hatch to choose a decent-looking cabin.

Reginald says, "Ah, very good, second door on the port... no wait starboard... no wait, it is port... side."

Reginald trundles down.

Alonso follows after Reginald. "No, no, you had the right direction before -- your *other* right, fellow!"

Brianna says (to Reginald), "(a bit firmly) "Its on the right.""

Reginald says, "Oh dear... here we are."

[colonial] Brianna says, "I'm having lag."

Reginald knocks. "I say, anyone about? Is this cabin unoccupied?"

Alonso strides into the room Reginald has picked without waiting for any answer.

[colonial] Governor asks, "It'll get better?"

Reginald just puts his damn stuff down finally and looks around.

[colonial] Brianna says, "I'm going to disconnect and reconnect and maybe it will help. TTFN"

Brianna has disconnected.

Reginald says, "Oh dear; the ship seems to be rocking rather distressingly."

(From Governor) The woman Reginald brought on seems to have already found a room for herself.

Alonso starts to drop the bags, then sets them down gently.

Alonso says, "I'm sure it will calm eventually."

Tymen puts his small carpet-bag on the chair and sits on the bed, to try it out.

Reginald says (to Alonso), "I don't believe I've introduced myself, erm, Friar. I'm Reginald Cox, a pleasure."

Alonso bows deeply. "Alonso Reyes, at your service. Are you from Avalon?"

Reginald says (to Alonso), "Quite so."

Reginald says (to Alonso), "I must apologize if my accent is rather frightful."

Brianna has connected.

Alonso says, "Not at all, I'm sure."

[colonial] Governor asks (of Brianna), "better?"

[colonial] Brianna says, "did I miss anything"

Reginald asks (of Alonso), "And you are, I take it, a native of these lands?"

[colonial] Brianna says, "seems to be"

[colonial] Governor says (to Brianna), "Introductions between Reggie and Alonso."

[colonial] Reginald says, "Nah, just me bumbling around a bit more. Mysterious Woman #7543 seems to have popped into a cabin."

Alonso says, "I am Castillian."

Reginald says, "Ah, yes. And a man of the cloth, I understand."

Alonso says, "Indeed. And if you will excuse me, I would like to watch our ship depart. An old custom of mine."

Alonso says, "I'm sure we will speak later this evening."

Reginald gets out of the doorway.

Alonso bows again. "Until then."

Alonso heads for the deck and stands where he can watch their progress, making sure to keep out of the way of the deckhands.

Reginald shoves his belongings into various corners, etc.

Tymen looks around belowdecks, to get an idea of where things are.

Alonso watches the sailors, trying to get a feel for their competence.

Governor says (to Tymen), "There are more rooms than you thought there'd be. It's a straight and rather dark corridor to the captain's cabin at the far end."

Reginald tries to oh-so-casually wander down to find where the Woman has ended up.

Governor says (to Alonso), "They're competent enough, but you've seen better."

Governor says (to Tymen), "You see Reginald come out of a cabin and stroll towards another."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Arrr, in my day we had men with arms of iron and legs of wooden pegs, and they could pump like madmen around the Cape for 40 days straight, arr."

Governor says (to Reginald), "Not hard. She's singing to herself in her cabin ... an Avalon song, interestingly enough."

Reginald clears his throat discretely.

Tymen nods politely to Reginald as he passes.

Reginald nods very briefly.

Governor says, "The woman opens the door. "Oh, it's you. Thank you ever so much."."

Reginald says, "Me? Oh, well, the least I could do, really. Actually I guess it was entirely the least I could do, since I didn't do anything at all."

Governor says, "The cargo areas must be down another hatch."

Reginald says, "But I forget myself. Reginald Cox, at your service, miss."

[Crows-Nest] Jearl says, "well, hello, sailor to you, too."

(From Governor) Woman: "Gina Martinez."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Hey now, none of that."

Alonso waits for the port to dwindle behind them, then heads below to learn the layout of the ship.

Reginald says, "Ah. Enchanted. So, you're, uhh... going on a trip."

(From Governor) Woman: "Yes."

Tymen acquaints himself with convenient hiding places, in case the need arises.

[Crows-Nest] andyf says, "(Hey, I resisted the urge to make a 'pumping like madmen' joke.)"

Reginald says, "Ah. Funny that; so am I! Ha, ha, heh, eh. Well. As much as I hate to leave dear old Avalon, one must foray into the world, I suppose."

Governor says (to Tymen), "There are a few empty cabins. There doesn't appear to be any immediate access to the cargo hold."

(From Governor) Gina: "That is true. May I ask why you are headed for the Southern Mirror?"

Reginald says (to Gina), "Oh, merely for some research. Botany, actually. I suppose it's rather dull to someone of limited education... that is, uhh, someone who would be more interested in, oh, I dunno, umm, err, less esoteric topics."

(From Governor) Gina: "Oh, of course."

Reginald says (to Gina), "And may I ask what takes a lovely woman as yourself abroad? Surely your husband cannot be pleased to have you so far away."

(From Governor) Gina: "Oh, he doesn't know. He's missing, you see."

Reginald says (to Gina), "Oh dear; how horrid."

Reginald begins to turn slightly green.

Reginald says (to Gina), "I think... I think some fresh air, yes..."

Reginald dashes off above.

Alonso wanders up and down the ship, looking in unused rooms and storage lockers, finding where things are in general.

Tymen glances out his porthole.

Brianna eyes Alonso suspiciously.

[Crows-Nest] Alonso says (to Brianna), "I'm looking for Sir Guy."

Brianna asks (of Alonso), "May I help you find something?"

Reginald appears to be looking rather intently over the rail of the ship.

Alonso says, "Hello again! No, I am merely familiarising myself with the ship."

Alonso says, "Been a while since I was on one, but habits are stubborn creatures."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald asks, "Sergei? He's one of those barbaric fellows from Ussuria, yes?"

Brianna asks (of Alonso), "And you felt the need to "familiarize" yourself with empty rooms and storage lockers?"

Reginald mutters, "That's a rather interesting species of seaweed... ooooh..."

[7thsea] Governor rolls 5k3: 1 1 6 4 2 | 12

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Nice rollin, tex"

[Crows-Nest] Tymen says, "The Ussurans I've met were hardly barbaric at all, aside from a tendency to jump into icy water with no clothes on every so often."

[Crows-Nest] Brianna says (to Tymen), "If Era were here, she might argue with you."

Alonso says (to Brianna), "Certainly! In the event the ship has difficulty, I want to know which rooms are empty and thus can be ignored if I must find others. Similarly, I find it useful to know where ropes, hooks, and the like are."

[Crows-Nest] Governor says, "Brianna would merely smite you."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "#cheesy I'm already smitten by Brianna."

[Crows-Nest] Brianna exclaims, "Arr! 'Ware my mighty fist!"

[Crows-Nest] Tymen asks (of Brianna), "She'd disagree when I said they were hardly barbaric at all?"

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "I'm so not touching that one."

Eolo has connected.

Governor says (to Brianna), "One thing you know about Captain Clemm is that he's rather sticky about people poking their noses into closets and such. There are parts of the ship that even you haven't been to."

Brianna says (to Alonso), "I must ask you to desist, sir. These are not your concern."

Alonso says, "Goodness, I'm sure the captain would be glad to have informed passengers rather than deadweight."

Alonso asks, "I am surprised you have taken such a concern. Are you an employee of Clemm's?"

Tymen goes out to look around abovedecks.

(From Governor) There's a muffled thud from Gina's room.

Brianna folds her arms. "Captain Clemm prefers that passengers remain passengers, and allow the crew to manage this ship."

Reginald glances at Tymen briefly before returning his head over the gunnel.

Governor says (to Tymen), "Hm. They've taken down the flag they were flying."

Alonso says, "Have you been on ships before? I'm guessing not, from the angry set of your brow and your willingness to speak for the captain."

[Crows-Nest] (from Reginald) GM says, "Now they've got some strange nameless flag that's all black, but with a white skull and two crossed femurs on it."

[Crows-Nest] Governor says, "Humerus. Two crossed humerus."

[colonial] Tymen asks, "Was that a merchant flag, a Castillian flag, or what?"

[colonial] Governor says (to Tymen), "It used to be a Castillian flag."

[colonial] Tymen asks, "Anything flying now?"

[colonial] Governor says (to Tymen), "No."

Reginald wipes his mouth with the back of his hand.

Brianna says, "The Captain and I have discussed this, and you will be discussing it with him also if you continue to pursue your present course of action."

[colonial] Tymen asks, "Are there extra hatches leading to lower decks that the passengers haven't been given access to?"

Alonso says, "Goodness! No wonder you're a sergeant, the way you wish to run everyone's business."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "He's got a hankerin for some floggerin"

Alonso says, "I suppose I shall have to go speak with him, then, if only to assuage my own conscience."

Brianna smiles.

Alonso says, "Good day, sergeant."

Brianna says, "Good day, sir."

Alonso wanders abovedecks, to wait for a moment to speak with the captain when he's not busy, oh, running the ship or anything.

[colonial] Governor says (to Tymen), "Well, there's that one big hatch where large goods are lowered in. But, strangely, no visible man-sized hatches for humans to enter the cargo hold."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "The luuuuuuuuuuv boat, setting sail for the mirror seeeeeaaaaa"

Tymen says (to Alonso), "Good day."

[7thsea] Reginald rolls 6 dice: 10 10 5 8 2 7

Alonso asks, "Ah, good day. Enjoying the fresh air?"

[7thsea] Reginald says, "I dunno if those should esplode or not."

[colonial] Tymen says (to Reginald), "Depends what it is you're rolling, I imagine."

[colonial] Governor says, "If there are unkept dice, assume explosions."

Tymen says (to Alonso), "Indeed. You tend to get a nice breeze, at sea."

[colonial] Reginald says (to Tymen), "It's not relevant in this particular case anyway."

Reginald glances at the horizon, the sun, the clouds briefly.

Alonso says, "Alonso Reyes, by the way." He bows slightly.

Governor says (to Brianna), "All quiet now belowdecks but for Gina singing to herself in her room."

Tymen says, "Ah, Tymen Garetson. Some call my Tym."

Brianna says (to Governor), "Alonso was poking about. I'm going to keep an eye on him."

Alonso says, "Tym? Not a common Castillian name, nor is your accent native."

[colonial] Tymen says, "(s/my/me/)"

Governor says (to Brianna), "okay"

[colonial] Reginald asks, "Time of day?"

[colonial] Governor says, "About midday"

[colonial] Brianna says, "Tym of day."

Tymen shakes his head. "No, I'm from Vendel, originally. But I travel a lot, on business."

[colonial] Alonso says (to Brianna), "yay"

[colonial] Governor says, "hee"

Alonso says, "Business, eh? I'm sure you can tell my business from my dress."

[Crows-Nest] Tymen says, "He's in a dress? Must be an actor. Or one of those alternative sorts of jennies, perhaps..."

[colonial] Tymen says, "(That's clerical robes, though, right?)"

[colonial] Alonso says, "Careful. Don't make me hit you with my crozier."

Tymen smiles. "It's good luck, they say, to have a man of the cloth on a sea voyage."

Reginald makes his way towards Alonso et al.

Alonso says, "Useful if you need final rites, true."

Tymen nods to Reginald.

Alonso says, "Ah, Reginald."

Reginald says, "Good day, sir; father."

Alonso says, "Are you quite okay? You look a frightful shade of green."

Reginald says, "I, uhh, don't travel much by sea."

Alonso says, "I find the motion of boats to be soothing, myself."

Alonso says, "Up and down."

Alonso says, "Up and down."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "The breakfast of cold toast and eggs and sausages probably didn't help."

Alonso says, "Quite restful, when you let yourself pitch with the boat."

Reginald coughs wetly.

[Crows-Nest] Governor says, "hee"

Alonso breaths in deeply.

Reginald says, "You've traveled some, then."

[colonial] Alonso says, "Sigh. breathes."

Alonso says, "Yes, and it's good to be travelling again."

Brianna walks over to the party, moving easily with the motion of the boat.

Brianna asks, "(nodding to all and sundry) ..Alonso "I take it you were able to clear up that small matter with the captain?"

Alonso says, "And our good sergeant, here to help Theus keep an eye on us all."

Reginald asks, "Ah. What would be the usual route from San Cristobal to the Mirror Sea? Just head straight there, or are there navigational hazards to avoid?"

Brianna says (to Reginald), "Oh, one or two, but nothing serious. Captain Clemm is experienced in these waters."

Alonso says (to Brianna), "Not yet. Oddly enough, he is occupied right now with sailing."

Reginald glances at Brianna. "Oh, I see; very good, very good; I'm sure we're in capable hands."

Alonso asks, "Have you sailed with Clemm before?"

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Looks like lag got her again."

Brianna says (to Alonso), ""As I am charged with the security for this voyage, he and I discussed it at some length."

Alonso asks, "Oh, you *are* one of Clemm's employees. Why didn't you say so in the first place?"

Alonso says, "Of course I will follow your orders."

Brianna says, "See that you do."

Alonso says, "And here I thought you had as much force of law as our friend Reginald here."

Alonso claps Reginald on the back.

Reginald moans quietly.

Brianna just grins, but not very pleasantly.

Reginald says, "As a representative of the Captain, perhaps you'd be so kind as to elucidate us as to why we're sailing west, when our destination is to the east."

Brianna says (to Reginald), "Those navigational hazards you referred to earlier. Nothing to be concerned about."

Alonso says (to Reginald), "Surely the captain is merely avoiding problems that way."

Reginald says (to Alonso), "Surely."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Oi! Iceberg, dead ahead! No wait, just more seaweed."

[colonial] Governor asks, "shall i fast-forward a bit?"

[colonial] Reginald says, "Yes please."

[colonial] Brianna says, "sure"

Tymen says, "Mmm. Had we sailed east, we might be in the middle of la Sierra de Hierro by now."

[colonial] Reginald says, "Right up to the point where Bri and Alfonso get in a fistfight would be good."

[colonial] Governor says, "hee"

Reginald says, "Not dead east, surely, but at least on the eastern side of south."

[colonial] Alonso asks, "What, strike a representative of the captain?"

[7thsea] Governor rolls 4k3: 7 1 5 6 | 18

[colonial] Tymen says, "No, be struck by one."

Governor says, "Well, the day passes uneventfully. Morning dawns ... and the ship is flying a Vendel flag."

Tymen raises an eyebrow.

[colonial] Alonso says, "This is exactly the kind of violence I had hoped would not occur."

Governor says, "You are within sight of land, off to the west."

Tymen says (to Tymen), "Well, that might explain why he asked for fare in guilders, here in Vaticine lands."

Eolo has disconnected.

Reginald is looking a bit better today.

Alonso asks (of Reginald), "I do believe you look good enough to have breakfast. Salt pork?"

[colonial] Tymen asks, "Does that land look like an island, or a peninsula (like Zepeda)?"

Alonso arrives on deck, and stares at the flag. "Odd, that's not the flag the ship was flying earlier."

Governor says, "There are various other ships in the horizon ... a bit far off to see their flags, though."

[colonial] Governor says (to Tymen), "Definitely a peninsula."

Reginald says (to Alonso), "I'm not entirely hungry at the moment, my thanks."

Tymen says (to Alonso), "It is a nice one, though."

Reginald says, "Perhaps our voyage is less direct than we'd first been led to believe."

Alonso says, "It is the flag of your homeland."

Brianna munches on some biscuits and tea, whilst keeping an eye on the horizon.

Governor says, "The ship is sailing towards what appears to be a small fishing village."

Alonso says, "I wonder if that nice sergeant can tell us about the change of flag."

[colonial] Brianna asks, "what nice sergeant?"

Alonso asks (of Brianna), "Good morning. Had you noticed our change of colors?"

[colonial] Governor says, "hee"

Alonso points in the flag's general direction.

Brianna replies "Yes." and offers no further information as she walks on.

Alonso says, "Hm. Rather tight-lipped."

Alonso says, "I'm sure that's part of her job, though."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "...no, I'd better not."

Governor says, "Ship sails into harbor..."

Tymen says, "Perhaps they don't want to show Castillian allegiance while we're sailing near occupied territories."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Woo hoo, Mirror Sea here we are! Oh, wait."

Alonso says, "And now we dock. If we're going to walk I had better have my walking stick."

Governor says, "...drops anchor."

Alonso goes belowdecks to retrieve his stick and, on the off-chance he'll have time to read, the book.

Tymen says, "It looks like we might have more passengers."

[colonial] Brianna asks, "I think I know all of you OOC, but I don't know which is who. ??"

Reginald says, "Or perhaps less, if this is their destination."

[colonial] Tymen says, "Jota."

Alonso rejoins Tymen. "Oh?"

[colonial] Alonso says, "Jota."

[colonial] Alonso says, "Er, Sargent."

Tymen says (to Alonso), "Well, it'd explain the empty cabins."

[colonial] Brianna asks, "uh, huh?"

[colonial] Reginald says, "RogerCarbol in case you hadn't noticed yet."

Alonso says, "I do hope this doesn't delay us too much."

[colonial] Tymen says, "(Also, Niccolo, Jean Sebastien, Charles...)"

Governor says, "The gangplank is lowered."

Tymen asks, "Are you on a timetable?"

Brianna scans the people on the pier.

Reginald says, "We've spent a day sailing in the wrong direction and we'll spend another getting back to where we started; our delay sitting here is unlikely to be important compared to that."

Alonso says, "A good -- friend of mine is waiting for me."

Alonso says (to Reginald), "I meant the entire excursion, but your point is taken."

[colonial] Brianna says, "ah, thank you Jota."

Governor says (to Brianna), "Sleepy day at the pier, though there's some stirring of curiosity. It seems no-one was expecting a ship."

[colonial] Alonso says (to Brianna), "Perhaps if I spoke to you from three or four different windows you'd recognize me better."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "They're not a very successful fishing village."

Alonso says, "I'm sure it will sort itself out soon enough."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "More of a fly-fishing village, really."

Governor says, "When suddenly a shot rings out."

Tymen nods. "I think I'll retire belowdecks for now, so as not to be in the way o--"

Tymen ducks.

Governor says, "Thundering hoofbeats."

Reginald just stands there, looks around.

Brianna heee!

Alonso exclaims, "I do believe that was a shot!"

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "If this is the Castillian Inquisition..."

[Crows-Nest] Brianna exclaims, "I never expected that!"

Tymen chooses this as a good time to crawl for the hatch, lest any stray shots be aimed in this general direction.

[Crows-Nest] Alonso says, "I have no doubt that in that case it will be a mistake which I can quickly rectify."

Alonso wanders to the railing and looks for who was doing the shooting.

Governor says, "A carriage comes careening around a corner, driven by some guy in a black cloak, who's screaming at the horses to go faster."

Brianna stands ready for action at the gangplank.

[Crows-Nest] (from Reginald) GM says, "You see the captain quickly lower a flag and raise another, four or five times in succession."

[Crows-Nest] Alonso says (to Reginald), "heh"

Reginald says, "Apparently we're not the only ones on a timetable."

Governor says, "The carriage screams to a halt near the gangplank. More figures in black cloaks practically fall out of the carriage."

Alonso shouts, "Hellooooo! What is the matter!" and waves at the black-cloaked figures.

Brianna runs to assist those in black cloaks up the gangplank.

Brianna says (to Black), "cloaks Hurry, we haven't much time."

Governor says, "There's a lot of screaming ... the driver is issuing orders (in Montaigne), one of the passengers is countermanding half his orders in shrill Castillian."

Brianna says (to Blackcloaks), "Hurry, we haven't much time."

Tymen finds his cabin, and checks to see if the porthole is big enough to be used toe scape through, if the need arises.

Alonso returns to Reginald. "I do believe that Brianna knows what is going on."

Brianna yells (in her best Sgt voice) "Everybody move!!

Reginald casually wanders below decks. Well, he doesn't sprint full out.

Governor says (to Brianna), "Two of them just freeze when they see you. Like idiots. A third thrusts a trunk into your arms."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Awww, I was hoping he'd thrust an arm into her trunk."

(From Governor) Driver That's what I said! Vite, mesdames, vite!

Brianna grabs the trunk and hurls it onboard, then grabs two cloaked figures and runs them up the plank.

Alonso walks over to Brianna. "Your friends are in a terrible hurry."

Brianna runs to fetch two more once the first two are onboard.

Governor says, "A troop of Montaigne soldiers appears at the far end of the docks."

Brianna slings the last one over her shoulder and dashes back up the plank. (To the captain) "Weigh anchor!"

(From Governor) Clemm Aye!

[7thsea] Governor rolls 6k3: 4 8 7 8 10+4 6 | 30

Brianna exclaims (at Deckhands), "Pull in the plank! Unfurl the sails! Move it!"

Governor says, "Musketfire ... The driver topples over from on top of the carriage and hauls himself to his feet."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Oh, so that's what an exploded d10 looks like."

[colonial] Governor asks, "Initiative?"

Alonso taps Brianna on the shoulder. "Are you sure these sailors are up to such hurried travel?"

[7thsea] Tymen rolls 2 dice: 8 9

[7thsea] Alonso rolls 2 dice: 6 9

[7thsea] Reginald rolls 3 dice: 1 4 1

Brianna exclaims (at Alonso), "If you think you can help, go do it. Quickly!"

[7thsea] Brianna rolls 3 dice: 4 5 4

[7thsea] Governor rolls 3 dice: 7 7 8

[7thsea] Governor rolls 3 dice: 2 10 6

Alonso says, "Sergeant, I begin to fear you wish me to aid you in something illegal."

[7thsea] Governor rolls 3 dice: 2 5 1

[7thsea] Governor rolls 2 dice: 7 2

Governor says, "The driver hauls himself to his feet and turns to face the oncoming troops."

Governor says, "ONE"

Brianna continues hauling in the plank and bellowing orders, completely ignoring Alonso.

Alonso exclaims, "*Sergeant*, I will not be party to anything illegal, or even ill-advised!"

Brianna exclaims (at Alonso), "Then shut up and get out of the way!"

Governor asks, "Reginald?"

Reginald runs back above decks.

Alonso says, "I believe you did not hear the part where I will not be party to, let alone aid. I need to know what you intend."

Alonso asks, "Goodness, are those muskets?"

Reginald says, "Feel free to jump ship and swim for it, father."

[Crows-Nest] Brianna says, "if yapping with the annoyance here will interfere with my initiative, I ignore him."

[Crows-Nest] Brianna says, "no ofense sarge."

[Crows-Nest] Alonso says, "Right, my action I trip Brianna."

Governor asks (of Reginald), "You have two actions on 1. Holding the second, or...?"

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Yay, we fast-forwarded to the fistfight."

[Crows-Nest] Brianna says, "right, then I backhand Alonso."

Reginald says, "I'll hold, yes."

[Crows-Nest] Brianna exclaims, "hee hee!!"

Governor says, "TWO"

[Crows-Nest] Alonso says, "Mainly I'm vamping until we get action going on."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Also, do this on #colonial, if they're 'real' actions."

[Crows-Nest] Brianna exclaims, "keep it up, its hilarious!"

Alonso says, "I knew I should have learned the art of treading water."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Damnit, every party just has to have a paladin, doesn't it."

Governor says, "Screaming cries from the carriage. One of the black-cloaked figures runs to the rail, screaming "Francisco! Madre de dios!"."

[colonial] Alonso asks (of Governor), "Where are the black-cloaked people, and the ones fighting them at this point?"

[Crows-Nest] caleb asks, "i'm not sure why i'm on this channel, but: how does one get into one of these games?"

[Crows-Nest] Alonso says (to caleb), "In general GMs announce that they're planning a game, and you let them know that you're interested."

[colonial] Governor says, "Brianna's managed to get usher them up (without most of their luggage)."

Governor asks, "Anyone else on two?"

[Crows-Nest] Tymen says, "If you want to spectate, you can type 'theah' and @joinc colonial."

Governor says, "THREE"

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "But 'walk the plank' is more fun."

[Crows-Nest] caleb asks, "where do they announce this?"

[Crows-Nest] Tymen says, "Point."

Governor says, "FOUR"

Reginald asks, "Oh, me again. Is the gangplank up yet?"

[Crows-Nest] Alonso says (to caleb), "Usually on #7thsea or something like that."

Governor says (to Brianna), "one of the blackcloaks is trying to get down to the docks."

[Crows-Nest] Tymen says (to caleb), "Either on #7thsea, or on a channel created for their individual game."

[Crows-Nest] Alonso says, "This one was planned a while ago, which is why it seems to be appearing without warning."

Brianna grabs any black-cloak acting fool-hardy, and pulls them back behind the railings.

[Crows-Nest] caleb says, "ah. thanks"

(From Governor) Figure (sobbing) "No! My baby!"

Reginald says, "I think I'll just delay some more."

Reginald says, "Hold action, that is."

Governor says, "FIVE"

Brianna asks (of Sobbingfigure), "Ma'am what is it?"

[7thsea] caleb has joined the channel.

Alonso asks (of Figure), "Baby?"

[Crows-Nest] Reginald exclaims, "Whoops; I entirely thought that 'No! My baby!"

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "was a joke."

[colonial] Reginald asks, "Is there a baby-looking package down on the docks?"

(From Governor) Figure: "Francisco! He's still in the carriage! Santa Maria, I must go to him..."

Brianna starts swearing. "Captain! We have a problem!"

Reginald swears in Avalon.

Reginald sprints down the gangplank toward the carriage.

Brianna says (to Woman), "I thought one of you had him."

[colonial] Reginald asks, "That's, what, Sprint+something?"

[colonial] Governor says, "That's an action."

[colonial] Reginald says, "Oh. Well, that was my action (well, one of them; I've still got another held one.)"

Governor says, "The leader of the troops advances ahead of his men towards the driver."

Brianna asks (of Governor), "I only took one action on 4 and one on 5 so I have one from 4 left. Can I charge?"

Governor says, "Yes"

Governor says (to Brianna), "Yes"

Brianna charges down the gangplank, sword waving, bellowing a war-cry.

Governor throws drama die at Brianna

Reginald cringes slightly.

[Crows-Nest] (from Reginald) Parser says (to Governor) "You miss."

Governor says, "...which is a little more than the troop leader anticipated."

[7thsea] Brianna rolls 2k1: 2 2 | 2

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Her chief weapon is her sword and bellowing. Erm, her TWO chief weapons are her sword, and bellowing. And Drama dice. Uhh..."

[Crows-Nest] Brianna says, "ouch."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Go Drama go."

[colonial] Brianna says, "adding that drama die"

[7thsea] Brianna rolls 1 die: 7

[7thsea] Governor rolls 2k2: 7 2 | 9

Governor says, "The troop leader freezes in place. The driver takes the opportunity to dive inside the carriage."

Governor says, "SIX"

Reginald keeps holding like no tomorrow.

Tymen holds, just listening to the commotion and watching what he can from his porthole.

Alonso exclaims, "Sergeant! There are men with weapons about!"

[colonial] Tymen says, "(No, wait, I'm not until 8)"

Alonso sprints down the gangplank after her, robs flying.

[colonial] Alonso says, "robes, too."

[Crows-Nest] (from Reginald) Sargent says, "What? Oh, never mind."

Governor says, "The driver emerges on the other side of the carriage, screaming baby in arms. The troops level their muskets in his direction."

[colonial] Alonso asks (of Governor), "Can I reach Brianna and the driver?"

[colonial] Governor says (to Alonso), "With an action, yeah."

Reginald yells, "Throw him to me!" in Castillianese.

Governor says (to Reginald), ""Throw"? One of the cloaked figures faints."

[Crows-Nest] Alonso says (to Reginald), ""Ohw-thray im-hay ooh-tay eee-may!""

[colonial] Alonso says, "This is my action in SIX after all, so."

[colonial] Alonso says, "Down the gangplank, robes and stick in hand, shouting after Brianna."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald catches the baby beautifully; celebrates by spiking.

Governor says, "SEVEN"

Alonso exclaims (at Driver), "Put the carriage between you and the troops!"

Alonso mutters, "Theus, but I wasn't supposed to fight."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Man, everyone's got advice for this poor driver."

[colonial] Governor says, "Driver's kind of out of actions...."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Ah crap."

[colonial] Reginald asks, "Could I reach him with my remaining action?"

[colonial] Governor says, "yes"

Reginald sprints up to the driver, takes bundle from him. Tries to keep hapless driver between muskets and own ass.

Reginald says something reassuring.

[7thsea] Governor rolls 6k3: 1 5 3 5 9 6 | 20

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Don't like the looks of that."

[7thsea] Governor rolls 2k2: 4 7 | 11

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Although I guess that is a bit low for 6k3"

Governor says, "Some of the muskets fire off, catching the driver in the back. He falls into Reginald's arms."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald asks, "Also, uhh, we started with Drama dice equal to our lowest Trait, yes?"

[Crows-Nest] Governor says, "right"

[Crows-Nest] Tymen says, "Right. Most likely 2, for most of us."

Reginald's eyes get really, really big.

Governor says, "EIGHT"

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "And you can exchange a Drama die for an action, can you? Not that I intend on doing that right this very moment."

[Crows-Nest] Governor says, "uh, no I don't think so."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Oh; nevermind then. Brane is a bit stuffed full of 7th right now."

Tymen now holds, just listening to the commotion and watching what he can from his porthole, et c.

Governor says, "NINE"

Governor says, "Troop charges in."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Oh boy."

Brianna eyes light up, and you think you hear her snarling.

[colonial] Alonso says, "Okay, so: driver is hit, Reginald has the baby, he, Brianna and I are by the driver."

[colonial] Alonso asks, "yes?"

[colonial] Governor says, "Yes"

[colonial] Brianna says, "yup."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "I never wanted to be a hero. No, I wanted to be a BOTANIST... among the mighty fern, the noble daisy"

[colonial] Alonso asks, "Brianna first, or me?"

Tymen keeps holding, since he seems to be relatively safe from here.

[colonial] Governor says, "Brianna seems to have used her actions for the round."

[colonial] Brianna says, "has not stopped her charged, until she meets the troops and starts the next round."

[colonial] Brianna says, "can't type tonight, it seems."

[colonial] Governor says (to Alonso), "Got action? Go."

Alonso steps in front of the driver, holding up his arms. "Gentlemen! You have possibly killed this man, and I must administer last rites! I am a man of the cloth, not one of action; please, let me perform my duty.

[colonial] Alonso says, "(oratory)"

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Woah, you're down here too? Missed that entirely."

Alonso takes the driver from Reginald, mouthing, "Take the baby and run," puts the driver on the ground and begins to chant.

Governor throws drama die at Alonso

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Ah yes, that old classic, Go one, take the baby and run (wooo wooo woo)"

[colonial] Tymen says, "Not that I'd know IC, but were the shooters speaking Montaigne or Castillian? :)"

[colonial] Brianna exclaims (at Alonso), "you may be a priest, but you've got guts!"

[colonial] Governor says (to Tymen), "Whatever they're speaking, it's a different language from what the black-cloaked figures were speaking."

[Crows-Nest] (from Reginald) Brianna says (to Alonso), "Well, you had guts, before they got all spilled out over the dock."

[colonial] Governor says (to alonso), "Ah, let's try Wits"

[colonial] Governor says (to alonso), "Ah, let's try Wits plus Oratory, with whatever bonus you get from Ordained."

[colonial] Alonso says, "Ordained is free raise, assuming they're Vatacine."

[7thsea] Alonso rolls 6k3: 10+10+6 5 2 9 10+8 4 | 53

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Sweet Madre de Dios"

[colonial] Alonso says, "And that, ladies and gentleman, is what a classical edjumacation will get you."

[colonial] Brianna is very impressed.

[colonial] Governor says, "so are the soldiers."

Brianna . o O ( ooOOOoo )

Governor says, "The troops draw to a halt, lower their muskets and take off their hats."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "The clouds part and a ray of sunlight illuminates the father."

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "In the distance, a celestial choir sings."

Brianna pauses in her charge, and stands at parade rest.

(From Governor) Driver (sotto voce to Alonso): "M'sieur, just get me on board the ship. Please."

[colonial] Tymen says, "Hee."

Alonso murmurs (in the midst of his chanting), "play dead and I will pick you up."

(From Governor) Driver plays dead.

[7thsea] Governor rolls 2k2: 7 7 | 14

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Damnit Jim, I'm a padre, not a doctor. And this man is dead."

Governor says, "Troop leader misses the slight irregularity in the rites."

[colonial] Alonso says, "(phew)"

Governor says, "(Combat on temporary(?) hiatus ... round over.)"

Governor says, "The troop leader is advancing towards Alonso and the "body". Fairly respectful, but a little suspicious."

[colonial] Alonso asks, "Are we re-initiativing or playing it on out from here?"

[colonial] Governor says, "playing it on out."

[colonial] Tymen asks, "Where aer the sailors who are part of the crew? Out on deck, or casually doing their jobs, or hiding, or what?"

Reginald tries to Unobtrusively walk back aboard the ship with said bundle of infant.

Alonso finishes chanting and closes the driver's eyes.

Governor says, "There's a slight rattling sound ... the sailors are drawing up the gangplank."

Reginald makes a dash for it if it looks like he might make it.

[colonial] Governor says (to Tymen), "casually doing their jobs."

[colonial] ParserGirl has left the channel.

[colonial] Alonso asks, "eep! Is the gangplank low enough that I can scoop up the driver and make it to the gangplank?"

[colonial] Governor asks (of Alonso), "How athletic do you feel?"

Tymen pokes his head out his door, looking for any in the corridor.

Governor says (to Tymen), "Easy enough."

Brianna exclaims (at Alonso), "(sote voce) run!"

[colonial] Alonso says, "I think I'm about to feel really athletic, since I'm afraid I won't be able to talk the troops out of gutting us both if I remain here."

[colonial] Reginald says, "If either Alonso or I land on it, we should slow it down enough with our weight."

Tymen asks (of Sailor), "What's going on?"

Alonso lifts the driver gently.

(From Governor) Troop Leader: "The fugitives! Stop the ship!

Alonso says (to Troop Leader), "My son, where can I --"

Alonso turns and runs.

[colonial] Alonso asks, "Sprinting?"

Brianna runs, behind Alonso.

[colonial] Governor says, "Sprinting, all you down on the docks."

[7thsea] Brianna rolls 4k3: 6 9 9 10+4 | 32

[colonial] Reginald asks, "Finesse? Brawn?"

[colonial] Alonso asks, "That brawn or finesse?"

[colonial] Governor says, "Finesse"

[7thsea] Alonso rolls 5k3: 4 5 10+8 2 9 | 32

[7thsea] Reginald rolls 5k3: 3 5 7 8 9 | 24

Governor says, "You all make it there just in the nick of time... Brianna (being the tallest) grabs the end."

Governor says (to Tymen), "The sailor shrugs and avoids your gaze."

Tymen says, "Ah. Business."

Alonso says, "Whoof," and drags himself and the driver onto the gangplank.

Governor says, "Troops are scrambling to reload."

[7thsea] Governor rolls 4k3: 6 3 2 1 | 11

Brianna hustles everyone over the gangplank.

Governor says, "Troop leader also makes a dash for the gangplank. He's a bit behind you, though."

Reginald boots it on up said plank.

Governor says, "The driver (being really Not Dead Yet) scrambles up the gangplank as well."

[colonial] Brianna says, "if the troopleader makes anywhere near us, I backhand him."

[colonial] Brianna says, "lefthanded."

[colonial] Governor says, "He does."

[colonial] Brianna says, "thwap! (I hope)"

Governor throws drama die at Brianna.

[7thsea] Brianna rolls 4k3: 3 8 5 7 | 20

[colonial] Governor says, "Just enough. Damage"

[7thsea] Brianna rolls 5k2: 10+3 9 2 9 1 | 22

[7thsea] Governor rolls 2k2: 1 9 | 10

Governor says, "The troop leader goes sprawling."

[colonial] Brianna exclaims, "yay panzerhand!"

Brianna dashes up the gangplank.

Governor says, "At the top of the gangplank, the sobbing figure takes the crying baby and hugs it close."

Reginald says, "You're welcome, ma'am."

Governor says, "The driver pulls Brianna (or tries to, anyway) up the last two or three feet, and kicks the gangplank away."

Reginald mocks the troops on the dock.

Tymen waits a few moments for the ship to move away from the dock before coming back out onto the deck.

Brianna says (to Driver), "Thank you."

Alonso sits on the deck, watching sadly as they sail away from his walking stick.

(From Governor) Leader: "DesChamps! Traitor! If you ever show your face on Montaigne soil again, I shall have your head!"

[colonial] Governor says (to Alonso), "Awww..."

Brianna says (to Alonso), "Your assistance was crucial. Thank you. You had asked earlier about the legality of our actions. It was entirely legal, depending on your point of view."

(From Governor) Driver: "The pleasure is mine. Sergeant Marcel DesChamps, late of l'Empereur's army, at your service."

Brianna says (to Driver), "Greetings Seargant. You acted bravely, and with quick thinking. I was impressed."

Alonso stands and dusts off his robes. "I shall be intrigued by the story, I'm sure."

Tymen climbs up from the hatch. "What the..." He glances at Alonso. "What in the world was all that?"

Governor says, "The black-cloaked figures take off their cloaks. There are five women: Three elderly, one in her twenties (the baby's mother), and one about 17."

Brianna approaches the women and bows.

Governor says, "(I'll just use their names from here on. Presumably you'll get properly introduced later.)"

Alonso says (to Tymen), "I hope to find out sometime soon."

Alonso exclaims, "Especially since it cost me a perfectly fine oak stick!"

Brianna says (to Women), "Greetings. I am Sgt. Brianna, and I have been charged with your safe-keeping. I hope you find everything well aboard this ship."

(From Governor) Dona Antonia: "Well, it would seem that there is after all SOME shred of decency in that Montaigne scoundrel's army. Yes yes, my gratitude, miss."

Brianna says (to Women), "If I may show you your quarters? They are small, but they should suffice."

Governor says, "(Dona Antonia appears to be the de facto leader of the women. The other two elderly ones hover deferentially behind her.)"

Tymen says (aside, to Alonso), "See, I told you there'd be more passengers."

Alonso says (to Tymen), "You were right."

(From Governor) Antonia: "I suppose we shall have to make do. Let us go."

[colonial] Brianna asks, "is cpt clemm anywhere about?"

[colonial] Governor says, "yes"

Brianna says (to Dona), "If I may introduce Cpt Clemm . . . Cpt Clemm this is Dona Antonia."

Tymen mentally compares the number of passengers to the number of cabins.

(From Governor) Dona Antonia: "Dona Antonia Aldana de Fernandez. A pleasure to make your acquaintance, sir."

Governor says (to Tymen), "Hm. There may be two passengers too many ... some people are going to have to share."

Governor says, "Clemm greets Dona Antonia tersely."

Brianna frowns, and motions the women to walk with her towards their rooms.

Governor says, "The other women are introduced. Carlotta and Perpetua Fernandez, the other two elderly women; Sylvia Arujo de Fernandez, mother of Francisco Fernandez; and Rosita Fernandez."

Governor says (to Brianna), "The rooms have been pretty well-prepared. Beds made, floor swept and all."

Brianna says (to Dona), "Antonia I hope you find these well enough."

(From Governor) Dona Antonia: "Well, it's not Corazon del Castille ... but it'll have to do."

Governor says (to Reginald), "Gina seems to have moved into your room, by the way."

Reginald says, "Oh my well."

(From Governor) Gina (in Avalon): "I must confess I rather miss speaking in the language of my homeland."

Brianna says (to Dona), "Please let the captain or myself know if we can be of any assistance."

Brianna says (to Dona), "I'll leave you to get settled."

(From Governor) Antonia: "I daresay. He does not strike me as being much of a *gentleman*, however."

Reginald (in Avalon): "It is certainly not without its charms. You were... expecting these women?"

Brianna says (to Antonia), "I'm sure he was merely distracted with concern for our safety, and that of this ship."

(From Governor) Gina (in Avalon): "Not really. I didn't know they were coming, if that's what you're asking."

(From Governor) Antonia: "Of course."

Reginald (Avalonese) "Ah. You were just so fastidious, is all."

(From Governor) Gina (in Avalon): "It seemed like the right thing to do when I woke up this morning."

Alonso goes to see if Brianna is done with the new passengers.

Brianna says (to Antonia), "If there is nothing else, I'll leave you to get settled."

Reginald (Ava) "Following one's hunches can be important, yes."

Tymen checks his own room to make sure he hasn't been evicted.

(From Governor) Antonia: "There is nothing else. You may go."

Brianna heads to her quarters to begin writing her report on the attack.

Alonso intercepts Brianna on her way to her room. "If I might have a word...?"

Brianna asks (of Alonso), "Yes?"

Alonso says, "I confess I do not fully understand what is going on, but I begin to have an inkling when I hear the last name 'Fernandez' mentioned."

Brianna asks, "Oh?"

Alonso says, "I would like to know that what I have done will be for good."

Reginald says (to Gina), "(Avalon) I hope my equipment here doesn't take up too much room. I wouldn't want you to feel cramped."

[colonial] Alonso asks, "By the way, I'm guessing Brianna is Eisen; is this true?"

[colonial] Brianna says, "yes. large and occasionally intimidating. :-)"

[colonial] Reginald says, "Large? You're described as fragile."

Brianna says (to Alonso), "If you consider saving lives good . . . .(Brianna trails off, and offers nothing further)."

[colonial] Tymen thinks that's Amber's @desc

[colonial] Reginald says, "Oh."

Alonso says (in Eisen), "I do not know which way this will all turn, is all, without knowing more."

[colonial] Brianna says, "yes - I need to change it."

(From Governor) Gina Oh, I think I'll put up a hammock, actually. It would be more comfortable.

Reginald says (to Gina), ""I couldn't agree more."

Brianna says, "Priest, you have just saved a life, possibly several. Be at peace."

Alonso says (in Eisen), "There is nothing more you can tell me."

Brianna says, "You are correct."

Alonso sighs. "I shall pray for guidance for me, and information from you, then. Good day."

Alonso turns and heads for his room.

(From Governor) Gina: "I think there should be material in the cargo hold, but the entrance is through the captain's cabin. I think."

Brianna says, "And I shall pray for patience and fortitude for you."

Alonso says (without turning), "Indeed. I can tell my supplies of it will be sorely depleted on this voyage."

Governor says (to Brianna), "As Alonso moves off, a sailor approaches you."

Brianna asks (of Sailor), "Yes?"

(From Governor) Sailor: "Arr ... Cap'n wants a word with ye ... i' the morning, once we clear th' cape o' Gallegos."

Reginald says (to Gina), "I imagine either the Captain himself or his sargeant Brianna would be able to assist you."

Brianna asks (of Sailor), "I shall be sure to oblige him. Before breakfast?"

(From Governor) Sailor: "Aye.

Brianna says (to Sailor), "I shall be there."

(From Governor) Gina (frowning): I don't think that will work, somehow.

Reginald asks (of Gina), "And why is that?"

(From Governor) Gina (frowning): Clemm doesn't like people entering his cabin.

[colonial] Governor asks, "anything specific that people want to do....?"

[colonial] Governor says (to Tymen), "Oh yeah, you haven't been evicted. Yet."

Reginald says (to Gina), "Why don't you take the bed and I'll work on my own arrangements."

(From Governor) Gina: "Oh. Why, thank you ever so much."

[colonial] Alonso says, "I'll be reading my book."

Reginald tries to track down Brianna.

[colonial] Alonso says, "and sighing over the loss of my walking stick."

[colonial] Brianna is writing her report.

Reginald knocks.

Brianna asks, "Yes? What is it?"

Reginald says (to Brianna), "Sorry to bother you, Sargeant. Who is the quartermaster on this vessel? I need to rig a hammock in my quarters."

Brianna says, "Speak with Clemm about it. He handles most of the business on this ship."

Brianna says, "Unles it deals with food or blood - we also have a cook and a surgeon."

Reginald nods. "Thanks for your time."

Reginald wanders down that long dark hallway to the captain's quarters, and knocks.

Brianna says, "You're welcome."

Governor says (to Reginald), "no answer"

Reginald heads above, to the helm, looking for the captain.

Governor says (to Reginald), "There's the captain."

Reginald says, "Ahoy there, sir. Fair winds we've been having, eh what."

(From Governor) Clemm: Aye

Reginald says, "I was hoping I could get a hammock to rig up in my quarters, now that our accommodations are a bit more cramped than before."

(From Governor) Clemm: Oh really. Well, alright, I can get you something after dinner.

Reginald asks, "That would be splendid. We're on a straight haul to the Mirror Sea, now, I take it?"

(From Governor) Clemm: Eh? Oh, aye.

Reginald says, "Good, good. Well, see you in the mess."

[colonial] Reginald says, "That's about all I wanted to accomplish for now."

[colonial] Governor says, "fast-forwarding"

[colonial] Reginald watches the stars a bit.

Governor says (to Reginald), "One thing you find out is that Gina talks in her sleep. Nothing you can make out distinctly, though."

Governor says, "A couple of days later, the ship passes around the southern tip of Gallegos...."

Governor says (to Brianna), "Which brings us to your appointment."

[colonial] Reginald asks, "The Fernandezes have been keeping to themselves, I suppose?"

[colonial] Brianna says, "excellent."

[colonial] Brianna asks, "are we near the docks?"

[colonial] Governor says, "Dona Antonia has been bossing just about everyone around. Sylvia is all wrapped up in her baby. Rosita's the only one who seems at all friendly."

Brianna goes to meet the captain before breakfast.

[colonial] Governor says (to Brianna), "No. You'r just out of sight of land."

[colonial] Alonso says, "I have, of course, offered to help them if at all possible, given that I'm probably the only priest on board."

(From Governor) Clemm: "ah. Sergeant Brianna."

Brianna says, "Yes, Cpt."

[colonial] Governor says (to Alonso), "You're the only one that Dona Antonia does NOT try to boss around."

Tymen goes to meet breakfast.

(From Governor) Clemm nods to a couple of large sailors, who close and lock the door behind Brianna.

(From Governor) Clemm: "You haven't been with us long, and we have a little matter to discuss.

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "Fine work, Cabin Boy, erm, that is, Sargeant."

Brianna raises an eyebrow. This seems serious.

Brianna says, "Yes? Do go on."

(From Governor) Clemm: "Now. The business of this ship is business and, unfortunately, the business of running passengers back and forth between Theah and the Southern Mirror is not as profitable as one might hope.

(From Governor) Clemm: Fortunately, "accidents" occasionally occur.

Brianna says, "I see. What type of "accidents?""

[Crows-Nest] Reginald says, "I'm not sure to be happy or sad that I didn't take Hubris: Lecherous."

(From Governor) Clemm: Storms. Pirates. Shipwrecks. If a lifeboat drifted into dock with a tale of disaster, people don't ask too many questions. As long as the, uh, cargo cannot protest, of course.

Brianna asks, "What exactly are you saying?"

[Crows-Nest] (from Reginald) Clemm: Storms. Pirates. Shipwrecks. Pirates. Icebergs. Pirates. More pirates. Arrrrrr

(From Governor) Clemm: What I want to know, Sergeant, is whether you intend to throw in your lot fully with us, or if you would prefer to follow our guests where we send them.

Brianna says, "I am with my charge, and my charges, as charged, Captain."

Governor says (to Reginald), "Gina doesn't want to go to breakfast this morning. She seems a little troubled."

(From Governor) Clemm: Not much of a head for business, I take it? Oh well. It's a pity....

Reginald yawns. "Didn't sleep well, Mrs. Martinez?"

(From Governor) Gina: I dreamt of blood last night.

(From Governor) Clemm stands. "Why don't you think about it ... while my men prepare the plank.

Reginald says (to Gina), "Oh dear. Well, I suppose we have been out here a while, and if you have, erm, uhh, certain, erm, feminine... concerns, that is to say, well."

Tymen goes to wander on deck after breaking fast.

[colonial] Governor says, "<end>"

[colonial] Reginald says, "Yay"

[colonial] Alonso says, "Aw, and just getting interesting."

[colonial] Reginald says, "Way to leave us on a high note."

[colonial] Brianna exclaims, "whoohoo! plank-walking pirates. Arrr!"

[colonial] Reginald says, "Good, fun game, if I may say so."

[colonial] Brianna exclaims, "g'night all. we rock!"

[colonial] Governor says, "'night Brianna"

[colonial] Alonso says, "Bye Brianna"

Brianna has disconnected.

[colonial] Tymen waves, "Night."

[colonial] Tymen asks, "Are we playing at the same time next week?"

[colonial] Alonso says, "That works for me, oddly enough."

[colonial] Governor says, "Uh, next Monday not good for me...."

[colonial] Alonso says, "My work schedule for next week is be in lab Thursday and Friday, which makes Wed and Thurs night bad for me."

[colonial] Governor asks, "Friday?"

[colonial] Reginald says, "Next next Friday I could probably arrange."

[colonial] Alonso says, "That should probably work for us"

[colonial] Alonso says, "(the royal us there)"

[colonial] Governor says, "Need a Lucian."

[colonial] Governor says, "Or a Sara."

[colonial] Tymen asks, "Is that eleven days from now we're considering, then?"

[colonial] Governor says, "think we could discuss this on Wednesday? I need to sleep now, or be useless tomorrow."

[colonial] Alonso says, "Sure."

[colonial] Alonso says, "Off I go."

Alonso has disconnected.

[colonial] Governor says, "'nighty...."

Governor has disconnected.

[colonial] RogerCarbol says, "You can probably turn off PerrySimm now, unless I missed it."

RogerCarbol disappears through an invisible gap in the MUD. You think you may have heard the sounds of chatting before the gap closed again.
