To Whom It May Concern, As per your recent missive, I have learned that you wish to be kept abreast of the workings of Legion that I encounter in my travels. Specifically mentioned was a talon and a giant salamander. The salamander in question was an illusion brought about, we believe, by a Sidhe encountered by some of our group (not including myself) in the caverns below. As you are probably aware, the man in question who was the subject of the illusion has since died, due to the injuries sustained both physical and psychological. The intent of the illusion seems to have been for the Sidhe to obtain an artifact of the Marquis', a black talon on display in his home. Since it seems to be important to the forces of Legion, my companions decided to journey to Avalon to discover more about it, and to discover if there is a way to destroy it before it destroys us, or at least keep it out of the hands of Legion. I have accompanied them to ensure that the artifact is indeed destroyed, and to protect these innocents from evil. Your prayers are requested as we continue our dangerous journey. Thus far, we have discovered little, but we do know there is some connection between the talon and an abandoned Vaticine church north of the city of Carleon, where it was discovered. Perhaps there are still those in the Church once associated with this place, who would know more? In particular, there seems to be a painting that once hung in this church that may have depicted this talon, entitled, "Service for All the Dead". Any information about this painting or the place that might serve to assist our quest would be appreciated. The final work of Legion I have encountered on my travels thus far has been a couple encounters with a strange invisible beast that stalked the streets of Carleon not long after we arrived. One of our sailors was killed, and others were attacked in the streets. It seems probable that this same creature is the one that attacked Milango (if that is his name), who was on his way to try to find me in Carleon. I have heard that the beast was killed by the guards at Glenayre, prophets be praised. Your obedient servant of Theus, Francesco Cadiz Annadoche
