[early_musketeers] PerrySimm says, "Log on."
Dana has connected.
Antoine-Gerard says, "arr."
Antoine-Gerard says, "(uh ... has #early reached the end of Celeste's tale yet?)"
Game_Master says, "not quite"
Antoine-Gerard smiles and grabs the popcorn.
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "mmmm, popcorn."
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(louis should be along in a minute, since he was here fifteen minutes ago)"
[early_musketeers] Ender says, "Sorry - was playing Planescape. Got caught up in it."
Louis-Phillipe has connected.
Game_Master says, "excellent"
Jean-Sebastien says, "C'est Louis."
Game_Master says, "Giraud will hang about outside the cave, or something"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "Need to idle for another minute - gotta put my laundry in the dryer."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "So since Giraud's not here, we'll need to nomination a new decoy."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "I guess I can be."
Game_Master says, "as you recall, having recovered the will, you headed back to town, only to meet up with Celeste with a note proclaiming that Colin had been kidnapped"
Game_Master says, "on his trail, you rode up here, outside this cave opening (almost more of a crevice, really) in the hill in the forest"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "hmm. guess who else has been playing Planescape & doing laundry? all afternoon . . ."
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "hee hee"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "IIRC, the plane was for one of us (originally Giraud) to pass audibly by the cave mouth, as 'bait'."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "While the rest of us waited in the woods, ready to spring if the people in the cave tried to ambush the decoy."
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "plane? freudian slp? ;-)"
[early_musketeers] Alex says (to Amber), "Awwwk! Word on the street is that a plane is three non-colinear points -- or, a line and a point."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "A sort of counter-ambush, so to speak."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien asks, "Shall we carry one with the same plan?"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(it would be fine to have giraud play the role of the decoy still)"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "And can we still have Giraud be the bait, even though he's not here? :)"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Excellent."
[early_musketeers] Amber exclaims, "but of course!"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "he makes better bait if he's not here to object, I would think"
[early_musketeers] Amber asks, "is he supposed to be here later?"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "I don't think so, unfortunately, unless his party is really short."
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "er -- he had a party at 5pm"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "so, yeah, I imagine not"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "oh."
[oneshot] schep asks, "Whoa. There's a next story?"
[oneshot] Jota says, "Do you mean a sequel to my story? I was thinking of doing one, yeah. But there's no problem with not being in it."
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "I washed a Kleenex :-("
[oneshot] schep says, "So it's more like a twoshot."
[oneshot] schep says, "Or one-and-one."
[early_musketeers] Amber exclaims, "oops!"
[oneshot] Jota says, "Well, I might do others later, and I'm fine with other people picking up the GM's hat for this too."
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(ok, so, feel free to put whatever plan you have into motion)"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "We're waiting for Giraud to start. :-)"
Jean-Sebastien hides in the bushes, and gives Giraud a little shove.
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says (to Jean), "why don't you @emit for him"
Louis-Phillipe crouches behind a fallen log, pistols in either hand.
(From Jean-Sebastien) Giraud looks back, and then marches ahead, intentionally trampling the noisy underbreath.
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(I assume he's going past the cave entrance and continuing on?)"
(From Jean-Sebastien) Giraud makes sure that he's fully visible as he passes the entrance, pausing for a moment to trip over a branch before continuing past.
Amber hides nearby, pistol in hand.
Game_Master says, "the cave entrance is quiet for a minute after he passes, then a head cautiously sticks out and looks around"
Bandit looks around.
Jean-Sebastien remains motionless.
Louis-Phillipe props one pistol on the log and aims it carefully at the head, but holds his fire.
Bandit slips out from the side of the hill, crossbow in hand, then reaches a hand back inside to motion for another one to join.
Bandit's friend emerges, also with crossbow, and they hold a whispered consultation.
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien asks, "Did we have an recon on how many were in there, before?"
[early_musketeers] Bandit says, "I don't believe so"
Amber listens as hard as she can.
Bandit appears to be saying something about "..follow him.." and "..you scout it from above .."
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe asks, "There's no bonus for aiming a round before you fire, is there?"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien asks, "Which direction is above?"
[early_musketeers] Bandit says (to Louis), "um, no, but I guess a free raise seems reasonable"
[early_musketeers] Bandit asks (of Jean), "um, up?"
Bandit and his friend separate, one going in the direction of Giraud, the other around the other side of the hill.
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "I didn't know if the ground was sloping, so that he was going towards or away from us."
Louis-Phillipe raises his second pistol, ready to bring it down in a signal to fire.
Amber shadows the one nearest her, as soon as he passes.
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "Oops, too late."
[early_musketeers] Bandit says, "oh, sorry. the ground slopes up slightly towards the hill (since it's a hill, of course), but they're going along the side of the hill"
Jean-Sebastien readies one of his own, aiming for the man atop the cave.
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe asks, "So is it time to attack, or do we need to wait for initiative or anything?"
[early_musketeers] Amber asks, "how bout capture, rather than kill?"
[early_musketeers] Bandit says, "I don't know, do you want to attack? one is following Giraud, the other is going around the hill (and starting to climb up it)"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "I'm waiting for them to actually do something audible near Giraud."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Since just sneaking up on Giraud doesn't seem to be grounds for shooting at them."
[early_musketeers] Bandit asks, "and what was Giraud doing?"
[early_musketeers] Bandit asks, "is he coming back, or keep walking, or?"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "I'm going to try to shoot the crossbow out of the Bandit's hand."
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "Giraud was walking around loudly to get them to come out."
(From Jean-Sebastien) Giraud keeps walking, occassionally looking around to the sides, and being easy to follow.
[early_musketeers] Bandit asks (of Amber), "and you're following one of them, right? the one following giraud?"
(From Jean-Sebastien) Giraud stops to retie his boot.
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "yes, with a cocked pistol."
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "Which one is the one I was aiming at when they came out? (the first one)"
[early_musketeers] Bandit says, "the first one is the one following giraud, but you could have switched to the other when they talked, if you want"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "No, I'll fire at him"
[early_musketeers] Bandit says (to Amber), "ok, make a stealth roll, please"
[early_musketeers] Bandit says, "(stealth+finesse)"
[7thsea] Amber rolls 7k3: 2 2 8 2 3 8 5 | 21
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien asks (of Louis), "Are you aiming at the one on the hill?"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says (to Jean), "No"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "OK, good."
Bandit does not notice Amber coming up behind him, fixated as he is on the spectre of a lone man with several (valuable) horses.
Bandit raises his crossbow.
Amber says, "Freeze."
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe fires now! Now now now now!
Bandit jumps!
[early_musketeers] Bandit says (to Louis), "ok, roll away. TN 20, I guess"
[7thsea] Louis-Phillipe rolls 6k3: 7 1 7 9 5 3 | 23
Bandit up on hill, meanwhile, is scouting out territory.
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe asks, "Is that including the raise for the called shot?"
Jean-Sebastien, hearing Louis' retort, immediately does the same.
[7thsea] Jean-Sebastien rolls 5k3: 10+4 7 2 9 2 | 30
Amber has her cocked pistol aimed at the bandit's chest.
Amber says, "I suggest you not move."
Louis-Phillipe's pistol cracks, and the crossbow spins out of the bandit's hand.
[early_musketeers] Bandit says (to Louis), "to shoot the crossbow out? yeah"
Bandit flings his hands up in the air.
[early_musketeers] Bandit asks (of Jean), "and which are you shooting at? the one on the hill?"
Louis-Phillipe heaves to his feet, pointing his other pistol at arms length.
Louis-Phillipe has disconnected.
Bandit says, "(there seems to be some commotion from the cave)"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Yeah. Not having the foresight Louis did, I was only shooting as his crossbow arm, not the weapon itself."
Louis-Phillipe has connected.
Jean-Sebastien switches to his second pistol, which he trains on the cave mouth.
Bandit on top of the hill yells and topples out of sight, grabbing his arm.
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe asks, "What'd I just miss?"
Game_Master says, "two more unshaven bandit-types appear from the cave, broadswords in hand"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien | Louis-Phillipe has disconnected. [early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien | Bandit says, "(there seems to be some commotion from the cave)" [early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien | [early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Yeah. Not having the foresight Louis [early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien | did, I was only shooting as his crossbow arm, not the weapon itself." [early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien | Louis-Phillipe has connected.
Louis-Phillipe spins to aim his own pistol at the cave mouth.
Jean-Sebastien exclaims (at Bandits), "Hold it right there!"
Bandits look around in some confusion. "We don't have any pist -- arr"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "Thanks."
Jean-Sebastien says, "Drop your swords and come out."
Bandits shout "Chief!"
Bandits attempt to duck back into the cave.
Louis-Phillipe fires as they move.
Jean-Sebastien fires at the feet of the ones ducking.
[7thsea] Jean-Sebastien rolls 5k3: 6 8 7 5 6 | 21
Amber cocks her second pistol.
[7thsea] Louis-Phillipe rolls 5k3: 3 7 3 1 8 | 18
[early_musketeers] Bandits says, "(TN 15)"
Jean-Sebastien holsters the pistol and draws his sword.
[7thsea] Bandits rolls 2k2: 4 9 | 13
[7thsea] Bandits rolls 2k2: 7 2 | 9
Bandits collapse in the midst of struggling to get back in, one falling forward, the other back into the cave.
Jean-Sebastien run forward to stand to one side of the cave mouth, motioning Louis toward the other side.
Louis-Phillipe tosses his pistols to the ground and draws his sword as he jogs forward, keeping an eye out to see if they're faking it.
Amber says (to Bandit), "Put your hands behind you."
Bandit says, "oooh"
Bandit says, "mrfmgm"
Amber pulls off her belt, and tightly binds his wrists to tree.
Bandit exclaims, "a mere slip of a girl!"
[Crows-Nest] (from Jean-Sebastien) Then Amber's pants fall down.
Amber chuckles evilly.
Amber says (to Bandit), "You won't be needing this. (and grabs the crossbow.)"
[early_musketeers] Bandit says, "(it's broken from louis's shot, but yes)"
Amber pats down the bandit for knives or other weapons.
Bandit says, "(there is more commotion from within the cave -- someone starts to drag the one who fell inside all the way in)"
[early_musketeers] Bandit says, "(the entrance is, like, closet-door-width, though a bit lower than a closet high)"
[early_musketeers] Amber asks, "any weapons on the bandit?"
Louis-Phillipe exclaims (at Amber), "Check on the one on the hill!"
[early_musketeers] Bandit says (to Amber), "he's got a big-ass broadsword strapped to his back, yeah"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "okay, I take the broadsword."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien asks, "The one being dragged presumably dropped his when he was shot, right?"
[early_musketeers] Bandit says, "yes, as did the other, actually"
Amber heads toward the bandit on the hill, keeping an eye out for more bandits.
[early_musketeers] Bandit says, "so one guy is sprawled in front of the entrance, one guy mostly inside now, one guy up on the hill, one guy Amber just tied to a tree"
[early_musketeers] Bandit says, "giraud offstage, Amber climbing hill, Louis and Jean to either side of the entrance"
Bandit or somebody from inside fires a crossbow bolt out.
Bandit's shot whizzes harmlessly forward into a tree.
Amber goes back to stealth mode.
Game_Master says (to Amber), "you climb up the hill in search of the other bandit -- he seems to be sprawled on the ground, moaning"
Game_Master says (to Amber), "then you notice some noises from the far side of the hill"
Amber asks (of game), "what kind of noises? giraud?"
Jean-Sebastien slips his sword into its sheath for a moment, and takes the moment of peace to reload one pistol.
Game_Master asks (of Louis), "and are you doing anything?"
Louis-Phillipe ducks his head into the opening to look into the cave.
[7thsea] Game_Master rolls 5k3: 7 10+1 1 8 5 | 26
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(ooh, ow)"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Eeek."
[7thsea] Game_Master rolls 2k2: 2 7 | 9
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe asks, "I just got a bolt to the head, didn't I?"
Game_Master says, "a crossbow bolt shoots out of the entrance again, grazing Louis's arm"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(well, it was only 9 damage)"
Jean-Sebastien quickly puts the pistol aside to redraw his sword.
[7thsea] Louis-Phillipe rolls 2k2: 5 7 | 12
Game_Master says (to Amber), "not giruad -- it appears to be -- wait -- there seem to be some men emerging from the other side of the hill"
Game_Master says, "six of 'em"
Jean-Sebastien:snaps a branch off of a tree and waves it in front of the entrance.
[Crows-Nest] Louis-Phillipe exclaims, "Oh, good!"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe asks, "Did I see anything in the cave?"
[early_musketeers] (from Jean-Sebastien) Game_Master says, "A crossbow bolt."
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says (to Louis), "yeah, you did get a glimpse of a bandit guy with a crossbow on the ground next to him and another in his hand"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "hee hee"
Game_Master says (to Jean), "there's no response except frantic noises from within"
Amber carefully examines the men, and takes the time to aim just as carefully.
Jean-Sebastien charges the entrance.
Louis-Phillipe whispers (to Jean), "Time to charge?"
Louis-Phillipe blinks, and charges in a step behind.
Game_Master says, "you guys force your way in -- the bandit turns to run (dropping the crossbow)"
Jean-Sebastien slashes at his legs.
Game_Master says (to Amber), "there appear to be six, as stated -- one of which is the leader, I guess since he's pointing for three to go around one side of the hill and two to go the other"
Louis-Phillipe hits him high.
[7thsea] Jean-Sebastien rolls 6k3: 7 8 8 10+1 2 3 | 27
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(roll away, TN 15)"
Amber asks (of game), "they look banditish?"
[7thsea] Louis-Phillipe rolls 6k3: 9 6 3 1 9 2 | 24
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "they look like the other guys, yeah, outdoorsy and rough"
[7thsea] Amber rolls 5k3: 10+10+8 2 10+9 3 3 | 50
[7thsea] Jean-Sebastien rolls 4k2: 9 8 9 3 | 18
Game_Master says, "Jean's sword slashes at his ankles and then Louis tackles him from behind, I guess."
[7thsea] Amber rolls 4k3: 3 7 6 5 | 18
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "(Damage, if applicable)"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(just brute)"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master asks (of Amber), "nice shot -- but at who?"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "leader."
[7thsea] Game_Master rolls 4k4: 2 8 5 6 | 21
[7thsea] Louis-Phillipe rolls 4k2: 7 2 4 3 | 11
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "second roll was second shot - off-hand."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien asks, "Do we see anything in here but that one brute?"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "(Such as an alternate exit? :) )"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "oh, ah. well, TN 15 to hit leader, so second is also a hit"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "now rolling damage, if applicable. ;-)"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "yeah, he was running around the corner"
[7thsea] Amber rolls 4k3: 2 8 8 2 | 18
[7thsea] Amber rolls 4k3: 5 1 7 9 | 21

[7thsea] Game_Master rolls 4k4: 7 10+8 9 1 | 35
Game_Master staggers back, clutching his shoulder, which takes both balls.
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(er, not like that)"
[early_musketeers] Amber exclaims, "hee!"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "also, that's the bandit leader, not me"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(thank goodness)"
Bandit Leader shouts for men to charge the hill.
Amber holsters her pistols and draws her sword.
Louis-Phillipe exclaims (at Jean), "Check around the corner and I'll go help Amber!"
[early_musketeers] Bandit asks (of Louis, Jean), "are you guys following the tunnel around the corner?"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Yeah."
Louis-Phillipe spins on his heel and heads outside.
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Unless I hear something behind me."
Game_Master says, "three bandits plus the leader yell and charge up the hill towards Amber"
Game_Master says, "Louis starts running around to help her, having heard shots"
Amber lets forth with a battle cry, and charges the bandits!
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "Jean runs forward, leaving the crossbowman unconscious on the floor"
Amber er, are these brutes?
[early_musketeers] Amber asks, "er, are these brutes?"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "they are except the leader"
[early_musketeers] Amber asks, "roll initiative?"
Game_Master says (to Jean), "the tunnel opens up into a large room with a firepit. there are three bandits with crossbows, one covering the back entrance on the other side of the pit, one covering a man tied up on the floor, one covering the entrance (where you're running in)"
Game_Master says (to Louis), "meanwhile, you run around the side of the hill, only to confront two bandits running around from the other direction"
Game_Master says, "and everybody roll initiative now please"
[7thsea] Amber rolls 3 dice: 8 9 10
[7thsea] Jean-Sebastien rolls 4 dice: 6 4 3 3
[7thsea] Louis-Phillipe rolls 3 dice: 1 8 7
[Crows-Nest] Louis-Phillipe exclaims (at Jean), "Finally, a different number of dice between us!"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Hee."
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(I guess I'll do amber's bandits as the leader and the rest as a group, and louis's as one group)"
[7thsea] Game_Master rolls 3 dice: 1 7 8
[7thsea] Game_Master rolls 2 dice: 6 3

[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "that was leader, others, louis's, jean's"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master asks, "so, anyone with 1?"
Louis-Phillipe barely pauses in his run as his rapier flicks out towards the bandits.
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "1 raise"
[7thsea] Louis-Phillipe rolls 6k3: 10+1 9 4 1 1 1 | 24
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(that takes them both out -- play it out)"
Louis-Phillipe stabs his rapier deep into the shoulder of one bandit, who drops his sword and falls in pain. Then he pulls it out and slashes at the legs of the other as he runs past.
[early_musketeers] Game_Master asks, "anyone else with 1 besides the bandit?"
Game_Master says, "the bandit chief yells as he charges up the hill towards Amber (yelling and charging down at him)"
Game_Master says, "he slashes at her with his sword, ignoring the pain in his shoulder"
[7thsea] Game_Master rolls 5k2: 4 8 2 6 7 | 15
[early_musketeers] Game_Master asks, "uh, is that a hit?"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "my TN is 20."
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "parry = 3"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "'k"
Game_Master says, "she ducks under his blade (not hard, what with the hill and the height disparity)"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master asks, "anyone with 2?"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master asks, "anyone with 3?"
[early_musketeers] Amber exclaims, "yay, small!"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "I have a couple of 'em."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Going for the first one."

[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(that'd be a hit)"

[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(more 3s?)"
Jean-Sebastien rushes forward to the bandit guarding the man supposed to be Colin, stabbing at the ne'erdowell.
[7thsea] Jean-Sebastien rolls 6k3: 5 9 7 9 5 7 | 25
Jean-Sebastien's sword slices right through, hitting the rock behind, before he pulls it out.

[7thsea] Game_Master rolls 3k2: 6 10+6 8 | 24
[7thsea] Game_Master rolls 4k2: 1 8 5 3 | 13

[7thsea] Amber rolls 2k2: 1 1 | 2
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "ow."
Game_Master says, "(and it's a fairly nasty hit)"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(round 4?)"
[early_musketeers] Amber asks, "is that two dramatics?"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "er, phase 4)"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "just one"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Me."
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "it's only an extra if you miss by 10 with firearms. with other weapons it's miss-by-20"
Jean-Sebastien looks around, noticing the last bandit by the exit.
[7thsea] Jean-Sebastien rolls 6k3: 2 8 3 8 10+6 3 | 32
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "alrighty, one crossbowman left, still slack-jawed"
Jean-Sebastien quickly takes him out before the man has even had a chance to turn around all the way.
[early_musketeers] Game_Master asks, "5?"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master asks, "6?"
[late_musketeers] andyf asks, "So, buckling of swash in three hours?"
[late_musketeers] inky says, "yes indeed"
Jean-Sebastien address the bound man, while wiping his blade. "Colin?"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "(That was six)"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe asks, "Where am I in relation to Amber and the bandits near her?"
Game_Master says, "the bound man is old and white-haired and really looks unsuited for being tied up in a cave"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe asks, "And how many are left near her?"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "awww."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien asks, "Is he gagged or just tied?"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says (to Louis), "you've come around to the base of the hill by now -- she's surrounded by three plus the leader"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "both"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(er, gagged and tied)"
Jean-Sebastien ungags the poor fellow.
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "At 7, then..."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Now I feel bad about asking him questions while he was still gagged."
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "o, the bandits around her get another attack at 6"
[7thsea] Game_Master rolls 3k2: 5 9 8 | 17
[early_musketeers] Amber exclaims, "yay!"
Game_Master says, "despite her wounds, Amber manages to hold off the three bandits for a time"
Jean-Sebastien starts to work on his ropes whever he's finished with the gag.
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "Ah'm just that good. :-)"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "now on 7 (Louis can attack on 8 at the end of the phase, since he's got to charge up the hill)"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master asks (of Amber), "and you've got an attack on 7?"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "nope. 8,9,10"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "alrighty, leader goes on 7 again"
[7thsea] Game_Master rolls 5k2: 8 1 8 7 1 | 16
Louis-Phillipe rounds the hill, and sees Amber is in trouble. He charges forward, yelling, "En garde, brutes!"
Game_Master says, "again Amber's height saves her as she dodges a blow one more time"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "now 8, first amber, leader, then louis"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "I'm not in trouble, yet! <grin>"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "okay, one raise on the leader."
[7thsea] Amber rolls 7k3: 1 10+1 8 10+2 7 9 9 | 32

[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "ooh, he just makes"
[early_musketeers] Amber exclaims, "grrrrr!"

Game_Master says, "then he swings at her in return"

[7thsea] Amber rolls 2k2: 3 5 | 8
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "sigh."
Game_Master says, "his return strike slashes open Amber's leg, rather messily"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(louis?)"
[7thsea] Louis-Phillipe says, "I'll take out 2 of the brutes"
[7thsea] Louis-Phillipe rolls 6k3: 4 7 2 8 3 9 | 24
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(there you go)"
[7thsea] Louis-Phillipe says, "No wait - damn, too late."
[7thsea] Louis-Phillipe says, "Should've done 3 and used a drama die"
Louis-Phillipe arrives in a flicker of movement, and soon two bandits lie groaning on the ground. He faces the second, panting lightly.
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "Er, third."
[early_musketeers] Game_Master asks, "anyone else with 9 or 10 besides amber?"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Nope"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says (to Amber), "go for it"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "at the leader, again."
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "if you're crippled, here, no explosions"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "yup. still doing a raise, though."
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "Testing something:"
[7thsea] Louis-Phillipe rolls 1 die: 6
[7thsea] Amber rolls 7k3 (no explosions): 4 8 3 6 7 8 2 | 23
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "Ok. Whew."
[7thsea] Amber rolls 5k3: 10+4 10+6 4 10+2 3 | 42
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "oops."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien asks (of Curious), "if your drama die would have helped?"
[7thsea] Amber rolls 5k3 (no explosions): 9 10 4 6 7 | 26
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(those'd both be hits, yes)"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "I was wondering if I should've used Focus to raise my Finesse to 4."
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "ah, second roll was damage."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "You stole my Virtue! :)"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "oh ah er -- raise is only +1 unkept, not kept"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "Wait - I would've got 7k4 with 4 Finesse. That would've done it easily. Damn."
[7thsea] Amber rolls 5k2 (no explosions): 1 6 4 7 1 | 13
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "So it's 19."
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(heh)"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(still, +25 flesh from before, so)"
[7thsea] Game_Master rolls 4k4: 10+4 10+7 1 7 | 39
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe exclaims, "Ooh!"
Game_Master says, "the bandit leader has been caught off-guard by Amber's quick return, but again, he seems to shrug off the blow"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says (to Amber), "ok, attack on 10"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien is confused.
[early_musketeers] Amber asks, "on to round 10? can I just spit on him?"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien asks, "Amber rolled '9 10 4 6 7' for damage, right?"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "sara is confused, and Lucian's kibitzing is doing as much harm as good."
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "oh dear"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "So k2 is '9 10', meaning 19 wounds."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Plus 25 old wounds makes 43..."
[early_musketeers] Game_Master asks, "I asked her to reroll the 5k3 for damage since she was supposed to roll 5k2, no?"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "or possibly 6k2"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "Lucians wants me to tell you I re-rolled. I'm not sure why."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien asks, "She couldn't keep the same roll, and just add it up correctly?"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "well, ok, fine by me"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Oh well. Never mind, I guess."
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "I like Jean's idea better."
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "I think phase 10 will decide it anyway"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "okay, on to phase 10. I will first roll attack, then damage, just to be absolutely clear."
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "also, one raise, yet again, just because I have that adventuresome spirit."
[7thsea] Amber rolls 7k3 (no explosions): 2 1 9 1 1 1 10 | 21
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "there we go"
[early_musketeers] Amber asks, "just to confirm, 5k2 for damage?"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "6k2 if you have brawn 3, since you did a raise"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "er, if you have brawn 3 and are using a sword"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "brawn 2, so 5k2."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "There's something interesting about a roll with four unkept dice that gets exactly four ones."
[7thsea] Amber rolls 5k2 (no explosions): 4 5 1 9 5 | 14
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "ok, so bandit has to roll against, er, 52"
[7thsea] Game_Master rolls 4k4: 5 3 3 3 | 14
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(and, um, doesn't)"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Two more damage, and that'd have been three dramatics at once."
Game_Master says, "Amber ducks under the blow and slams her blade into his chest, stabbing it in what feels like almost all the way through before yanking it out again. The chief collapses."
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "two more damage, and I'd have hit him last time."
Game_Master says, "and the last guy sees what's what and drops his sword"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master asks, "so, good work, team. what now?"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "I'm still untying Colin."
Amber wipes her brow. (to Jean) "That was harder than I anticipated. An 'off' day, I guess.
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Or the made who might be Colin."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says (to Amber), "ITYM '(to Louis)'"
Jean-Sebastien asks (of Man), "Are you Colin, the one who sent the note?"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "right. the roto-rooter with the sword."
Colin says, "ooh"
Colin wipes his face for a few minutes, cleaning off the grime
Colin says, "yes -- yes -- I can't believe anyone got my note"
Jean-Sebastien offers Colin his handkerchief.
Louis-Phillipe sheathes his sword and begins tying up the last bandit.
Colin dabs at his face again, handing back the kerchief rather dirtied
Jean-Sebastien says, "Yes, it was given to Celeste."
Jean-Sebastien helps Colin to his feet.
Colin says, "but musketeers -- I cannot believe any other would have succeeded"
Colin asks, "dear Celeste? is she safe? what of her inheritance?"
Jean-Sebastien smiles, "It is our duty to succeed."
Jean-Sebastien says, "Celeste is safe enough, but not so her inheritance."
Amber wipes her blade, and searches the bodies for weapons, coin or anything else of interest.
Jean-Sebastien leads Colin out towards the others while they talk.
Louis-Phillipe says (to Amber), "We should see how Jean is getting on, I suppose."
Jean-Sebastien asks, "You were a witness to her father's will, yes?"
Amber says (to Louis), "Thank you for your timely interevention."
Colin gasps.
Colin shakes his head for a moment. "With Lorenz? Yes, I suppose."
Louis-Phillipe bows to the lady. "Any time, mademoiselle."
Jean-Sebastien says (to Colin), "The will with Lorenz' name gives no great part of the estate to Celeste, and most to Gregor."
Colin says, "of course -- bah"
[early_musketeers] Amber asks, "anything of interest on the bandit's bodies?"
Jean-Sebastien asks, "There is another -- this one here," he takes it out, "but the question is which is the true will?"
Colin exclaims, "then it is safe!"
Jean-Sebastien says, "I hope that perhaps you could explian the situation, for I admit to being somewhat confused over the matter myself."
Colin says, "I had not -- he said -- I thought it had been destroyed, or my imagination"
Jean-Sebastien raises an eyebrow.
Louis-Phillipe says (to Amber), "Listen - I hear Jean's voice. That other with him must be Colin."
Jean-Sebastien says, "As perhaps you are, as well. I'm sure this has been a trying circumstance."
Jean-Sebastien asks, "Would you like to rest first, and explain it all back in town?"
Colin sighs. "That would be very kind of you"
Jean-Sebastien leads Colin out of the cave mouth.
Colin walks shakily besides.
Louis-Phillipe hails Jean from the top of the hill.
Jean-Sebastien says (to Louis), "Colin is well! A bit weary, but well."
[early_musketeers] Colin says, "(I presume you will be heading back to town with Colin -- what of the bandits?)"
Louis-Phillipe says, "Excellent."
Louis-Phillipe prods one of the unconscious bodies with his foot, and the man groans. "What are we to do with these? Too many of them to keep watch if we bring them with us..."
Jean-Sebastien says, "They can be tied up for now; perhaps Lorenz will know what to do with them alter."
Jean-Sebastien says, "A dozen strong farm men could likely handle the bunch of them back to town, or wherever."
Louis-Phillipe says, "True, true."
Jean-Sebastien exclaims (at Giraud), "Come, bring the horses!"
Jean-Sebastien says (to Colin), "Feel free to take my mount. I'll walk."
Game_Master says, "you head back to town -- arriving at noon or perhaps a little ways after. on the way, Colin explains."
Colin says, "late one night as I slept I was awoken by a hand on my shoulder"
Colin says, "it was Martin -- I could not believe it -- we had all thought he was permanently bedridden and in the final stages of his illness"
Colin says, "but it was he, and he motioned me to silence as he closed my door and checked the shades in front of my window, and then lit a single candle"
Colin says, "by the light of the candle he wrote out this will by hand, stopping often, for I could see he tired easily, now"
Colin says, "and no doubt just arising from his bed sapped his strength more than he let on"
Colin says, "but eventually he finished, and showed it to me, and said for me to sign it"
Colin says, "and so I did, and then he motioned for me to go back to sleep, and put out the candle, and returned"
Colin says, "I asked the next morning -- he said I must have been dreaming, that it was nonsense, that his will was made"
Colin says, "I did not understand, but"
Colin shrugs
Jean-Sebastien asks, "And that was this document?"
Colin says, "then the will came out, Gregor cast me off the land, said I should seek my fortune on my own time"
Colin says, "I thought about contesting it, but I had no evidence"
Louis-Phillipe asks, "Then this will is more recent than the other?"
Jean-Sebastien says, "It sounds as though Martin was under great pressure. Perhaps he feared what would happen if Gregor found out about the changed will."
Colin exclaims (at Jean), "indeed it was!"
Colin says (to Louis), "this document was made not a week before he died -- the other long before"
Amber says, "I wonder why he waited so long. Something must have happened."
Jean-Sebastien says, "We must bring this to Celeste."
Louis-Phillipe says, "It seems I owe Lorenz an apology - I had suspected him of collusion with Gregor, assuming the earlier will was a forgery."
Louis-Phillipe says, "Perhaps our gift of a dozen prisoners to guard will divert his mind from it."
Louis-Phillipe has disconnected.
Louis-Phillipe has connected.
Game_Master says, "and eventually you arrive back at the village"
Jean-Sebastien goes to Celeste's door and knocks.
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Or I guess it's technically PlowBoy's door, but that's beside the point."
Celeste comes to the door, anxiously. "Is it you? Could it be?"
Celeste exclaims, "oh, it is!"
Jean-Sebastien exclaims (at Celeste), "Be joyful, fair maiden!"
Jean-Sebastien exclaims, "Colin is here and well, and your father's will is found!"
Celeste claps her hands. "I cannot believe -- I !"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "for some reason, the syllables ko-dak, spring to mind."
Celeste exclaims, "Colin is safe? and the will is found? oh, happy day!"
Celeste rushes forward and, overcome by the moment, kisses Jean.
Jean-Sebastien says, "It is a day such as today when life can begin anew, and the sorrow of yesterday cast off and forgotten."
Celeste exclaims, "oh, Oliver! such news!"
Jean-Sebastien embraces Celeste as well, sharing her joy.
Celeste hurries back into the house.
Jean-Sebastien sighs wistfully.
Louis-Phillipe smirks.
Gregor asks, "what is all this? what news?"
Amber tries not to gag.
Jean-Sebastien peeks in the door.
Amber says (to Gregor), "It seems your fiance' was more astute than we knew."
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe asks, "We, wait. Isn't Gregor the bad guy?"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Yes."
[early_musketeers] Gregor says, "(yeah -- oliver is the fiance)"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "'Er', that is."
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "I thought Lorenz was the bad guy."
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe asks, "And Gregor's here?"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Lorenz is the town leader person."
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says (to Amber), "Lorenz is the town leader."
[early_musketeers] Gregor says, "lorenz is the village leader. gregor has just come up, as he so often does"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "oh. then,,"
Amber says (to Gregor), "You are under arrest."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "He witnessed the first will, and we were uncertain if he might have been colluding with Gregor, but it now appears not."
Gregor asks, "arrest? whatever for?"
Gregor exclaims, "I demand to know what is going on!"
Amber says, "Denying this poor girl her inheritance."
Jean-Sebastien says, "Obstruction of justice."
Gregor asks, "ha! and on what evidence?"
Jean-Sebastien raises the old will. "On this evidence, and on the testimony of this man."
Louis-Phillipe says, "Domination of an old man."
Gregor says, "bah -- I've never seen that will before in my life"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says (to Louis), "There are clubs in the capital where you can pay a high price for that service."
[early_musketeers] Gregor says, "snork"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "and amber knows where they are."
Gregor asks, "again I say, what evidence?"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Admittedly, I'm not sure if we have any hard evidence to arrest him on."
Gregor says, "and let me see that will"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "But I'm not going to admit that in front of him."
[early_musketeers] Amber says, ""An arrest is not a conviction."
Gregor tries to grab it.
Jean-Sebastien holds it away. "I don't think so."
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "I'm arresting him under probable cause."
Louis-Phillipe says (to Gregor), "As you're not a witness, I wouldn't expect you to have seen it."
Jean-Sebastien passes it up to Giraud, still mounted.
[Crows-Nest] (from Louis-Phillipe) Jean-Sebastien says, "Neener neener neener!"
[early_musketeers] Gregor says, "it's not a conviction, but admittedly it is probably a Bad Idea to arrest somebody who's rich and could cause problems"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "We'll have to kill him, then."
[early_musketeers] Gregor says, "although you certainly can, and it's been done before in the cause of justice"
[early_musketeers] Amber asks, "he's not rich yet, is he? that would come only if he had the inheritance, rigt?"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Well, rich relative to people like PlowBoy."
[early_musketeers] Gregor says, "well, he's a lawyer of some sort anyway, so presumably somewhat well-off"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "true."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien asks, "I'm a little fuzzy on how things work exactly in this world: if we do arrest him, where does he go to trial? Back in Rayure?"
[early_musketeers] Amber asks, "party vote - ought I retract my statement?"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien asks, "Or does it go before Lorenz?"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says (to Amber), "I think it's too late for that."
[early_musketeers] Gregor says, "lorenz doesn't have any legal authority, no"
[early_musketeers] Gregor says, "I mean, you can presumably un-arrest him at any time, although it'll be a loss of face"
[early_musketeers] Gregor says, "so you'd have to bring him back to Rayure"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "nah."
[early_musketeers] Gregor says, "before Bron, I guess"
Jean-Sebastien says (to Gregor), "If you relinquish any right to contest this will, then perhaps we can drop the charges."
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "lets ask the bandits if they're working for this guy."
Gregor sneers. "And what evidence is there for this will?"
Amber says, "The testimony of this man, and the fact it was found in Martin's house."
Gregor notices Colin for the first time.
Gregor looks surprised.
Gregor says, "I -- ah -- how nice to see you again, Colin."
Colin says, "bah"
Amber says, "Everyone knows you've restricted access to that house, and gave no one any opportunity to plant such a thing."
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "I attempt to intimidate Gregor..."
Gregor looks around from will to Colin and to your grim faces.
Gregor says, "ah -- er --"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "...using Oratory, if possible."
[early_musketeers] Gregor says, "(ok, oratory + panache, I guess)"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "In that case, I focus on Panache."
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "(The book says Intimidate is always Resolve, though)"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Mmm."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "If it's Panache, I could make the roll... :)"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says (to Jean), "No. I'm doing it. :-)"
[early_musketeers] Gregor says, "well, ok, so resolve"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe spends a Drama Die to raise his Resolve to 3, and drop his Finesse to 2, for the remainder of the scene.
[7thsea] Louis-Phillipe rolls 5k3: 6 6 7 10+10+8 5 | 41
[early_musketeers] Gregor says, "(first activation of a virtue is free under these rules)"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe does not bother to spend the drama die.
[early_musketeers] Gregor says, "so say something, I guess, and i'll do a response"
Louis-Phillipe pushes his way forward, his eyes burning. "You've betrayed a family who trusted you..."
Louis-Phillipe says, "...turned out a man who served all his life..."
Gregor backpedals hastily, watching Louis.
Louis-Phillipe exclaims, "...and left a girl bereft of her rightful place!"
Louis-Phillipe exclaims, "And you have the gall to pretend innocence!"
Gregor shakes his hands as if about to say something, then gives up.
Louis-Phillipe exclaims, "You are nothing but a cur, a mangy dog who skulks about his masters shadow begging scraps!"
Gregor twirls his moustache instead, but a fat lot of good that does him.
Gregor exclaims, "curses, foiled again!"
Gregor slinks off.
[Crows-Nest] Jean-Sebastien exclaims, "YAY!"
[Crows-Nest] Louis-Phillipe exclaims, "Hee!"
Louis-Phillipe exclaims, "Not so fast! Clap hands on that man!"
[early_musketeers] Amber claps.
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "oh, wait. :-)"
[Crows-Nest] Jean-Sebastien claps his hands.
[Crows-Nest] Jean-Sebastien says, "Lag-timing."
[Crows-Nest] Louis-Phillipe says, "Also, damn, he slunk away before my closing line about the mansion being the biggest scrap of all."
Jean-Sebastien grabs Gregor by the shoulder.
Amber grabs Gregor, and forces his hands behind him.
Louis-Phillipe says, "Er, clap him in irons - lay hands on him - however you landlubbers say it."
Gregor exclaims, "I'm innocent! You'll never prove anything!"
Gregor struggles weakly.
Jean-Sebastien leaves him to Amber, and looks into the house, the door of which is presumably open.
Amber ties him securely.
Game_Master says, "Oliver and Celeste have come to the door by this point, and are watching open-mouthed"
Amber says (to musketeers), "We really ought to do something with the bandits on the hill."
Jean-Sebastien stands by Celeste, on the side furthest from Oliver.
Amber says, "They can probably identify this cur."
Jean-Sebastien nods, "A wise idea."
Celeste exclaims, "but meanwhile, tonight we celebrate!"
Jean-Sebastien asks (of Celeste), "What sort of festivity do you have in mind?"
Amber says (to Celeste), "My dear, those bandits will be gone by then. This shouldn't take long, if we can borrow a few strong hands."
Jean-Sebastien grins rakishly as he asks.
(From Louis-Phillipe) Giraud says, "I'll take a party of men to ride back and bring them to town."
Celeste blushes. "Yes, yes, of course."
[early_musketeers] Celeste says (to Louis), "(there we go)"
Louis-Phillipe exclaims (at Giraud), "But you'll miss the party!"
Celeste says (to Jean), "why, dinner and feasting, of course -- I cannot imagine what else"
(From Louis-Phillipe) Giraud says, "Yes. I'm a boring fellow."
Amber frowns at Jean.
Jean-Sebastien says, "Then allow me to bring the wine."
Celeste says, "oh, of course"
Jean-Sebastien opens his saddlebags, bringing out a bottle. "One should never go anywhere without fine wine."
Amber whispers to Jean "Keep your paws off her. She's engaged! You can get plenty of that in town.
Celeste exclaims, "such good taste!"
Jean-Sebastien politely fails to hear Amber.
Amber mutters under her breath.
Game_Master says, "Giraud goes before Lorenz, who goes with him himself, plus one or two other men, to round up the trussed bandits and bring them back in town"
Game_Master says, "meanwhile, Celeste stands up in the middle of dinner, to toast you all and to make an announcement"
Celeste says, "I -- I just want to say how much I thank you for all you've done and will do for me and, and,"
Celeste sniffles a bit.
Amber proffers a hanky.
Celeste takes it and wipes her eyes.
Louis-Phillipe glares at Jean to stop him from doing the same.
Celeste exclaims, "and I want to announce that, with the land that you have saved for me, Oliver and I will be getting married next week!"
Jean-Sebastien is merely listening attentively.
Amber puts her arm around Celeste. "There, there, dear. It all works out in the end.
Celeste hugs Amber. "Oh, we'll be so happy!"
Jean-Sebastien appears slightly disheartened, but does his best to hide it.
Jean-Sebastien exclaims, "To your everlasting happiness!"
Jean-Sebastien raises his glass toward Celeste.
Amber sighs, tries not to roll her eyes, and pats Celeste's shoulder.
Game_Master says, "admittedly, this rather puts the cap on the feast, and things wind down soon after"
Louis-Phillipe says (to Celeste), "Not to be a downer, but you really should wait until the true will is declared binding."
Game_Master says, "the bandits arrive and are locked away securely for the night, as is Gregor"
Louis-Phillipe says, "Gregor is a lawyer, and he may have a way to wriggle out of this yet."
[late_musketeers] Antoine-Gerard says, "Ook. I'd completely forgotten about this window. Fortunately I do not appear to be in Spoilerville...."
Louis-Phillipe smirks. "Though I seemed to have broken his spirit pretty thoroughly."
Amber shares a grin with Louis.
[late_musketeers] Game_Master says, "it's going to end at the same place last late session did, looks like"
Game_Master says, "the next morning, however, they are brought out for interrogation, and each denies knowing Gregor"
Game_Master says, "they all tell the same story -- that Colin stumbled upon their lair a day ago, they tied him up and attempted to find out where he had found out about their hideout"
Game_Master says, "(to which he says he had heard about it someplace as a safe cave to take shelter, and had no idea they would be there)"
Game_Master says, "and they have no idea how he got the note out, and wish they had never taken up banditry and had stayed on the farm"
Amber asks (of Colin), "Do you remember where you heard this?"
Game_Master says, "and that they will never do it again if you will just release them"
[late_musketeers] Antoine-Gerard says, "well, last session was Long. #early simply broke theirs into two parts."
Colin scratches his head. "I can't rightly remember -- some tavern I stopped in along the way, no doubt"
[late_musketeers] Colin says, "(right)"
Game_Master asks, "so, now what -- the mission seems completed. will you bring back anyone with you to Rayure?"
[early_musketeers] (from Jean-Sebastien) Jean-Sebastien says, "How about Celeste?"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "I still think Gregor committed crimes; the question is whether or not we want to pursue it."
[early_musketeers] Amber slaps Jean's hand.
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "right"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "We can put him on a semi-official probationary kinda thing."
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says (to Jean), "hee hee"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "It seems clear to me that Gregor forces - um, Micheal was it? - to give everything to him in the first will..."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Martin"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "...but it doesn't seem like he's done anything illegal since, really. Just immoral."
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "And I doubt - wait, I'll do this IC."
Louis-Phillipe says, "It seems clear to me that Gregor forced Martin to give everything to him in the first will..."
Louis-Phillipe says, "...but it doesn't seem like he's done anything illegal since, really. Just immoral."
Louis-Phillipe says, "And I doubt we could prove anything."
Amber says, "Well, he's at least been publicly embarrased and exposed."
Jean-Sebastien says, "Perhaps we should place him on a probation of sorts."
Louis-Phillipe says, "At the root, all we know for certain is that Martin changed his mind and made a new will, and Gregor may have been as ignorant as everyone else."
Amber says, "If he wants to continue practising law, he'll have to move to a new town."
Jean-Sebastien says, "Tell Lorenz to keep a close eye on him and all that."
Louis-Phillipe says (to Amber), "Indeed. We shall be publically merciful."
Amber says (to Louis), "As you wish."
Amber asks, "And the bandits?"
Jean-Sebastien says, "We should bring the chief back with us."
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "there is in fact a travelling judge-type that goes around villages sentencing captured bandits, since it's a relatively common problem. but -- right"
Louis-Phillipe says, "Are clearly guilty of kidnapping, at the least."
Louis-Phillipe says, "We could bring them back with us, or leave them for Lorenz - there must be some agent of the law who serves villages like this."
Jean-Sebastien says, "Let the circuit magistrates deal with the rest? Sounds good."
Amber says, "We should at least appropriate all their weapons."
Jean-Sebastien says, "I imagine Lorenz has already done that, by now."
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(he's disarmed them and stuff, yeah. you can take them if you want, I guess)"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "nah. we get paid; booty isn't necessary."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "It's not like we'll be selling the stuff in town."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien asks, "It'd look kinda shady -- a booth on the street, with musketeers hawking swords and crossbows?"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "I was more thinking of preventing them from returning to their banditing ways."
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says (to Jean), ""barely-used, 50% off!""
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "'Start your own bandit brigade!'"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "job security for us, right? :-)"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien asks, "Hee. And then we can just sell the same ones over again?"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "right."
Amber says, "We should head back to Brom."
Jean-Sebastien says, "I think the horses are ready."
Game_Master says, "villager brings up your horses"
Game_Master says, "er, a villager"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master asks, "taking any of the bandits back with you?"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien asks, "The chief?"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "Nah."
[early_musketeers] Amber asks, "the leader?"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Or we can let the magistrate deal with him."
Game_Master says, "anyway"
Game_Master says, "the ride back to Rayure is even finer than the ride out"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien asks, "Decisive, aren't we?"
Amber exclaims, "We're off!"
Jean-Sebastien says, "Mmm, wheat."
Game_Master says, "again the crisp autumn air, the sunlight over the fields of wheat"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "(speaking of)"
Amber doffs her hat tp the villagers as she rides off.
Game_Master says, "and no company for the long ride but yourselves, a solitary farmer on the horizon"
Celeste waves her handkerchief as you leave, while Oliver salutes.
(From Amber) Amber waves at grain.
Celeste asks, "well, and the bandit chief, I guess?"
Jean-Sebastien waves to Celeste. And Oliver.
Game_Master says, "(er, as me)"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "let's see"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "so 6 xp to everyone, plus a drama die for everyone (effective 7 xp, then)"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "er, effectively"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien exclaims, "Woo!"
[early_musketeers] Amber exclaims, "yay!"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "plus, um, however much from act 1. 2-4 xp, I think"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "3 here"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien asks (of GM), "Which most of us already spent, right?"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "well, right"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "nope"
Game_Master says, "eventually you arrive back at the gates of Rayure"
Game_Master says, "where, somewhat surprisingly, you are met by a group of six musketeers with set faces and loaded pistols"
Game_Master says, "Bron is at their head, looking very unhappy"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Good thing we have a set of faces and loaded pistols too, then."
Bron says, "so .. I didn't think you'd dare to set foot in here again"
Amber reigns her horse in.
Bron says, "but clearly your arrogance has betrayed you"
Amber asks (of Bron), "What is the meaning of this?"
Bron says, "you are all under arrest"
Jean-Sebastien asks, "Commander?"
Jean-Sebastien asks, "Sir? Arrest for what?"
Bron asks, "for what? for *what*?"
Bron says, "for robbery, for theft, for attempted murder, and for betrayal of the code of the musketeers"
Game_Master says, "[End of Act 2]"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien asks, "Drat. How'd inky find about about that store we held up between sessions?"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "I am the all-seeing GM, after all"
[early_musketeers] Amber asks, "does that mean we're done for today, or we're done with this story?"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "done for today, yeah"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "there will of course be an act 3 where Things Are Explained"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "and possibly an act 4 where Things Are Straighted Out"
[early_musketeers] Amber asks, "next week, same bat time, same bat channel?"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "We could always stick around for #late and see if it's explained there..."
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "although that might be pushed into act 3"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien asks, "Can we do a Monday this week?"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "not next week -- I'm gone thursday -> sunday"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "I'm certainly up for some other day this week, though"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien asks, "Like last week's?"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "tuesday would work for me this week."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "Tuesday's no good for me."
[early_musketeers] Amber asks, "ah. week after, then? or maybe just the following sunday?"
[early_musketeers] Game_Master says, "alternately, sometime week after, or the next sunday, yeah"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "the next monday works. whatever."
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien nods. "Tentatively for a week from Monday, then? 5-8 Pacific or so?"
[early_musketeers] Louis-Phillipe says, "Sounds good."
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "sounds fine."
[early_musketeers] NewsBoy hollers, "Extra! Extra! Game_Master has posted message 7, about 'act 2 awards', to the bulletin board! Insert a naughty double entendre here!"
[early_musketeers] Jean-Sebastien says, "So Hubreis are fun :)"
[early_musketeers] Amber says, "yup."
Louis-Phillipe has disconnected.
