Kori has been home a lot, looking after her cat and doing schoolwork

Wilfred glances at Michel and fetches the complaint forms.
Gaston asks, "Has anyone bothered to do any more detective work recently?"
Michel says, "I'm worried."
Gaston says, "I was thinking perhaps we should organise a chancel-warming party."

Penny says (to michel), "my, whatever happened must have been bad for you to even admit that"
Michel says, "People have been bothering Therese's mother, saying they're my friends"
Penny asks, "who's Therese?"

Gaston says, "We were distracted before we could properly assimilate into Nobilis society, after all."
Michel says, "I am relieved I moved her when I did"

[Crows-Nest] Penny wonders why Kori isn't amazed that Michel got close enough to a woman to have a daughter

Wilfred says, "Well, I wouldn't be surprised ... I've been keeping a close eye on my own nearest and dearest of late."

Alexandra says, "But so long as you're comfortable with the arrangement...""

Michel shoots Kori an exceptionally withering look
Kori fails to wither.

Wilfred pauses, looking alert.
Penny asks (of michel), "the dallas cowboys?"
Gaston says (to monk), "Could you turn the heating up? It feels unseasonably cold in here."
Wilfred says, "Speaking of which ...."
Michel says (to Penny), "well it sure as hell isn't the Raiders"
Penny asks (of michel), "seriously, is it someone we've had encounters with before?"
Gaston says, "Our enemies are cowboys? That could be extremely interesting."
Penny asks, "or do we have NEW and EXCITING threats now?"
Gaston says, "However, I suspect that you may be joking."
Michel says (to Penny), "Catherine only sent me a letter, and she was vague"
Penny says, "hmm"
Michel says, "I think I am going to pay her a visit and see what I can find out. Immediately after I check up on Therese"
Gaston says (to Michel), "Hm. I wonder if perhaps I could divine what she was reflecting on when she wrote it."
Gaston says, "Her thought patterns are surely reflected in the shapes of the letters."
Michel's cigarette burns down to his fingers.
Gaston says, "Only if you want me to try, of course."
Penny says (to michel), "a good idea"
Penny says, "and I... hmm, it occurs to me I should just go tie up a few loose ends"
Michel tosses Gaston a letter with neat handwriting
Wilfred says, "Um."
Alexandra half pays attention while fiddling with messages on her BlackBerry
Penny vanishes off into the books.
Gaston tries to divine Therese's thoughts.

Michel says (to Gaston), "it was written by her mother"
Wilfred says, "If you will excuse me a moment ... I have an appointment with the police in Rio...."
[nobilis] GM says, "what she's reflecting on? yeah, I guess you can get surface thoughts"
[nobilis] Penny says, "(it occurs to me that wilfred or rob could read any manuscripts or letters I have in the chancel)"
[nobilis] GM says, "and what she's currently thinking is "whee! ferris wheel!""
Michel turns on his heel and heads for Ferarium
[nobilis] Gaston says, "Ha."
[nobilis] Gaston says, "But now I'm confused."
[nobilis] Gaston says, "I thought this was a letter from the mother explaining the situation."
[nobilis] GM says, "yes"
[nobilis] Michel says, "yes"
[nobilis] Gaston says, "(Also, I thought the mother was Therese, but I guess that's wrong.)"
[nobilis] Wilfred says (to Penny), "in my case, only the formal business letters and the forms ... anything with a filing reference on it."
[nobilis] GM says, "the mother is catherine"

[nobilis] GM says, "and catherine is thinking "black, or beige? it'll have to coordinate with the couch.""
[nobilis] Gaston asks, "While writing the letter?"
Penny returns, with a monk in tow to carry all her papers.  "Okay, I am heading for my family, to make sure they are staying low profile for a while""
Wilfred quickly signs the book-in/book-out register and strides down between the stacks.
[nobilis] Kori says, "apparently she has a hard time concentrating"
[nobilis] GM asks, "oh, while writing?"
[nobilis] GM says, "she's thinking that, plus "this is SO typical of Michel""
[nobilis] Penny says (to wilfred), "well, franklin could read it"
[nobilis] Michel says (to Kori), "it wouldn't surprise me"
Penny disappears off towards an exit.
GM asks, "what are other people doing as Penny, Michel, and Wilfred stride out?"
Gaston says, "Hm."
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "I love using the monks as packhorses"
Gaston says, "Well, people seem to be busy."
GM says, "(there are lots of exits from the chancel, so if you all want to stride out, that's fine)"

Kori begins packing up her stuff and heads back through to the chancel
Kori asks (of Alexandra), "I assume you're going to Karin's show?"

Wilfred emerges in a library in Rio and looks around for the appropriate police precinct ... following the metaphorical paper trail to the right one.
[interludes] GM says, "Well, it's been a couple weeks, so in theory he could be anywhere, I guess"
[interludes] GM says, "but you arrive in Rio and make your way to a police station, sweating slightly in your suit"
Alexandra says (to Alex), "yup. All are welcome to come witness the horror"
[nobilis] Alexandra says, "er, to Kori, even"
[interludes] Wilfred says (to GM), "Please.  In the first place, I don't sweat: I perspire.  And in the second place, I don't perspire."

[interludes] Wilfred marches up to the desk and asks of the sergeant, "Excuse me, sir, I understand that a Mr John McRae Edwards was recently found?"
Kori is wearing something that makes her look even taller and more reserved than usual
Michel strides back into the chancel
Michel says, "Well, everything seems all right"
[interludes] GM says, ""I'll have to consult my records, sir -- on whose behalf are you requesting this?""
Michel asks, "I'm going to Marseilles. Anyone?"
[interludes] Wilfred says, "My own.  My name is Wilfred Owen Edwards, and this might be my brother."
Michel says, "No? Excellent."
Kori looks at Michel, then on past him.
[interludes] GM says, ""Your brother? I'm sorry to hear that. Would you, er -- the body has not yet been identified. Would you be able to do so?""
Gaston asks (of Kori,Alexandra), "Shall we go?"
[interludes] Wilfred says, "Of course."
Penny emerges in a library in a small town in sussex.
Kori says, "Let's."
Alexandra says, "Sounds like a plan to me"
[interludes] GM says, ""Right this way, sir.""

Gaston pulls on a scarf and follows.
Michel shrugs, and heads out
[interludes] GM says, "The man leads you to the morgue, into the refrigerated room (especially cold in contrast with the outside), and then over to the still form beneath the sheet"
[interludes] GM says, "He pulls back the sheet and ... it's not John. Interestingly, it's not Darren, either"
[interludes] Wilfred tries to maintain an impassive expression
[interludes] Wilfred says, "Oh dear."
GM says, "Seattle folks arrive at the city in time for a bit of dinner before the show, since it's one of those lateish ones that start at 8 and serve drinks"

GM says, "Meanwhile, Michel is back on his home turf in France"
[interludes] Wilfred says, "We ... haven't spoken for years ... other than the odd request for money...."

Michel spends a little time picking out some wines with which to placate Catherine and her moronic husband

[interludes] GM says, "Flipping through the identification, you realize, in fact, everything except the driver's license is the stuff you gave Darren"
Michel grits his teeth, stops stalling and heads out to the suburbs
[interludes] GM says, "The driver's license is a rather poor forgery"
[interludes] Wilfred asks, "The driver's license?  Who issued it?"
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "'hi, mum, dad!  Er, yes, that is a monk with me.  No, I am not telling you why I have a monk with me'"

Penny ducks into a clothes shop on the way home and buys jeans and a t-shirt for the monk.
Gaston says (to Kori,Alexandra), "Can I meet you there in a short while? I have something to attend to first."
[Crows-Nest] Wilfred says, "Monks these days don't usually have tonsures ... but all their shirts/sweaters/etc have hood attachments.  I've seen monks in denim robes."
[interludes] GM says, "It looks like he left Australia and headed for Rio"
Gaston wanders off mysteriously.
[interludes] GM says, "but other than that, the only stamps are any you generated the passport with"
Gaston says, "<Everyone *else* is doing it.>"
[Crows-Nest] Penny asks (of wilfred), "what, our chancel is all modern and up-to-date now?"
Michel grits his teeth so tightly that he bites through his cigarette, and rings the doorbell
Alexandra says (to Gaston), "<well, just check back in when you need directions to the gallery>"
[interludes] GM says, "(on closer inspection, the passport photo has been removed and another substituted in, not well, but well enough to pass most observation)"
GM says (to Michel), "ding-dong"
GM says (to Michel), "Catherine comes to the door"

Michel says, "Good afternoon."
Gaston says, "<I meant the restaurant, but yes, I don't know how long I'll be.>"

Michel adopts his most emotionally-neutral tone of voice
Kori settles in at the restaurant and orders a rather complicated salad.  Followed by liquid chocolate cake.
Alexandra says (to Kori), "So, you still getting any studying these days? Seems like most of us are walking a fine line between keeping up appearances and just abandoning altogether our former vocations"
[interludes2] GM has removed Kori from the channel.

[Crows-Nest] Michel did that anyway
[interludes2] GM asks, "So..?"
Kori says (to Alexandra), "Yeah, it's been difficult -- I can read faster than I could before, which is useful, I guess.  I don't want to give it up entirely."
Alexandra sticks with a basic Cesar. But goes for the liquid cake.
[interludes2] Gaston says, "Yay."
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "I am imagining inky glaring at his computer screen at all of us for going off on personal tangents."
[interludes2] Gaston says, "Sorry, just felt the need to wander off-script."
[interludes2] Gaston exclaims, "Also, this is my first interlude!"
Kori says, "I think some of my professors are losing patience."
Kori says, "I've missed a few seminars, with no good explanation of why."
[Crows-Nest] Michel says, "this is payback for when he does parties and has to do no work at all"
[interludes2] Gaston says, "I'll head acquarium-wards."
GM says, ""I expect you got my letter? Well, what are you going to do about it? Honestly, calling at all hours -- somebody said they even saw one of your friends hiding in the bushes. Lolling drunkenly, I expect.""

Michel says (to Catherine), "This is what I would like to talk to you about. May I come in? I have brought some rather excellent Cabernets."
Kori says (to Alexandra), "Definitely."
[interludes] GM says, "The attendant coughs. "Well, normally, it would be the job of the family -- but of course, with international shipping, it becomes a bit trickier. We would be happy to assist.""
Kori says, "One of the, well, strange privileges of our current situation is that I've been able to take a couple of trips to Tokyo"
[interludes2] Gaston says (to Bronwynne), "<I was wondering if you might appreciate some distraction, the War having quietened down somewhat of late.>"
GM says, "Catherine rolls her eyes. "Fine, right this way.""
Alexandra says, "I keep looking back at the paintings I used to spend so much time on and wondering what I ever saw in the hobby in the first place"
[interludes2] GM says, "<Gaston! What a pleasant surprise!>"
[interludes] Wilfred asks, "Ah, well, I *am* the family ... so I may take possession immediately?"
Kori says, "Things I'd been expecting to save up for, now suddenly trivial"
Kori nods thoughtfully.

[interludes2] Gaston says, "I bet certain people will find this hilarious when it gets posted."

Alexandra says, "Mmm, the ease of travel is a nice perk"
[interludes] Wilfred says, "I don't mind ... I seem to have a knack for handling paperwork."

Michel asks, "Did these friends give any names?"
Kori says, "I feel like I have double vision, in a sense -- it's easy to feel like none of the old work is important any more.  But I do like it"
[interludes2] Gaston says (to Bronwynne), "<I can offer dinner with some chancel-mates and a pretentious art show later. Unless you have a better suggestion?>"
[interludes2] GM says, "<I am always happy to be distracted by someone charming>"
Kori says, "Otherwise, our lives are too isolating"
[interludes2] GM says, "<Ah, how intriguing. I can't say I am very fond of modern art, but the company seems excellent.>"
Kori says, "I can't have my whole world consist of, you know, arguing with Michel"
Kori falls quiet again.
[Crows-Nest] Michel says, "damn straight you can't"

Alexandra says, "One of these days I'll get around to ducking out to the Louvre. I keep meaning to. But back in the city, I've looped through the Met and Moma a few times and it just seems so ... empty. Most of what's there is such poor image of the reality that's so clear now."
[interludes2] Gaston says, "<They suggested Andaluca's.>"
Alexandra says, "Ha. Arguing with Michel is an art form of sorts"
Kori says, "Hmmm..."
Alexandra turns her attention back to the very engrossing cake
[interludes] Wilfred begins planning funeral arrangements ... best bring Rupert in but not tell him that it's not really John ... so it'll be a closed-casket, of course ... cremation....
GM says, ""Names? I just showed them the door as soon as they said they were friends of yours. My husband talked to one a bit longer, I think he said.""
Kori says, "That's an interesting perspective.  I guess I've always felt like the art I study is already a selective image, and what's interesting about it is how humans filter reality"
[interludes2] GM says, "<What excellent taste. I will be there shortly.>"
[interludes2] Gaston says, "<Excellent. I shall meet you there.>"
[interludes] Wilfred also considers necessity of taking fingerprints and tracing this guy's real identity ... and arranging a little "accident" in the papers.

Alexandra says, "Huh. I guess nowadays it seems there are exceedingly few humans at all interesting enough to bother with."

Kori says, "I've left her with Sylvia so far, but I've been gone so much I think I may have to move her to the chancel"
GM says, "Just as the dessert is being served, the restaurant doors open, and Bronwynn sweeps in regally."
Gaston says (to Alexandra,Kori), "<I will be there very shortly. Do you have a spare seat or two at your table?>"
Kori says, "Besides, I have a growing feeling that if I don't look out, I'm going to come back and find she's been run over, or something like that"
Kori says, "<Sure>"
Gaston says (to Bronwynn), "My dear! How delightful to see you again."
Alexandra says, "She can boss around Penny's little furball"
GM says, "She glances around the room, looking for -- ah, there he is."

Gaston says, "And, um, Kori is here also."
[Crows-Nest] Alexandra says, "hee. sushi is probably bigger than your furball"
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "my furball has sekrit powers"
GM says, ""So she is." Bronwynn says."
Gaston leads Bronwynn over to that table, cautiously watching for signs of impending violence.
Alexandra says (to Kori), "This ought to be an intertaining reunion to watch"
GM says, ""But I will take a seat regardless.""
[nobilis] Alexandra says, "grump tyops all over tonight"
Michel says (to Catherine), "I am under the impression that some sort of immense practical joke is being played on me by an ex-student"
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "sushi goes near pootles and sushi will have a nasty dose of fleas, for one thing"
Kori smiles at Bronwynn tentatively, as though she expects to have her head bitten off.
Gaston gallantly pulls out a chair for Bronwynn, not too close to Kori.
Kori says (to Alexandra,Gaston), "<If she reaches across the table and strangles me, take my corpse back to the chancel, okay?>"
Gaston says (to Kori), "<Have no fear, I will watch her like a hawk.>"
Gaston says (to Kori), "<Er, you know what I mean.>"
Chaz arrives, looking for booty.
Gaston exclaims, "Well, this is nice!"
Kori says, "<Yeah, but I'm afraid the parts of her you're watching may not be the relevant ones>"
GM says, "Bronwynn glances semi-approvingly around the table. "An art show, Gaston had said?""
[Crows-Nest] Alexandra says, "hee hee"
[Crows-Nest] Michel says, "man, I hope she's listening in on this"
Alexandra says, "Well, for certain, loose definitions of 'art'"
Gaston says, "My own opinions on art have been somewhat altered since my ennoblement."
Alexandra says (to Bronwynn), "A friend of mine is exhibiting. Fourteen canvases from her series on the meaning of 'blue'"
[interludes] Wilfred fills out the paperwork and arranges transfer of body to Eugene, Oregon.
GM says (to Michel), ""That is just the sort of thing you would have happen. Well, find him -- or her, I suppose, since you're always picking up those little freshman chits -- and tell them to desist at once. I am getting so disturbed I can hardly sleep my full eight hours, and you can see what it's doing to my complexion.""
Kori begins brightly, "Well, that should suit B-- er."  And then falls short nervously.
Gaston says, "I always looked down on the artistic establishment for their paltry skills, but mere mortal skill does not seem impressive any more."
Kori looks at Bronwynn uncertainly and shovels more chocolate cake into her mouth.
Gaston says, "Panache, imagination, verve -- these are another matter."
Michel tries very hard not to mention that someone was a freshman chit once
Michel says (to Catherine), "All too clearly."
Alexandra says (to Gatson), "we were just discussing that before your arrival. I find most of it quite boring, these days"
GM says, "Meanwhile, Bronwynn has gestured to a waiter and arranged for a small slice of cake to be brought to her, which she eats daintily"
Gaston says (to Alexandra), "Well, we shall see."
Kori drinks a great deal of coffee and doesn't say anything.
[Crows-Nest] Chaz says, "Kori's trying to take the edge off her hunger."
Gaston manages to stop himself saying "Well, this is nice!" again.
Kori mutters something inaudible and heads off towards the ladies' room
Michel says (to Catherine), "I suppose I had better speak to Alphonse about this. Where is he this time of day? Oh, yes, work."
GM says, "Bronwynn's eyebrows quirk up ever-so-slightly as she glances around the room. "I see this is a popular place tonight.""
[interludes] Wilfred eventually heads back to the chancel to give Rupert the "sad" news.
GM says, ""Yes, work. I'm surprised you've heard of it.""
[interludes] GM asks, "are you telling him the truth?"
Gaston asks (of Bronwynn), "I have not been here before. Is it usually less so?"
Michel says (to Catherine), "One tries to avoid uncomfortable situations."
[interludes] Wilfred says (to GM), "No way ... easier to fool the enemy if Rupert really thinks John is dead."
Michel says, "Speaking of which..."
[interludes] GM says, "ok"
[interludes] GM asks, "Rupert is -- well, how does Rupert take the news?"
Gaston says, "The food does seem excellent, although mine seems tardy in its arrival."
Michel uncorks the most expensive of the wine bottles, places it in Catherine's hand and strides out
[interludes] Wilfred says, "And if John tries coming home before the funeral is over, he's having a slight delay in processing his visa."
GM says, ""Do come again, Michel. Sometime much later.""
GM says, "Gaston's meal eventually arrives."
[interludes] GM says, "hee hee"

[interludes] Wilfred says, "Um ... visibly upset?  I don't think he's been in touch as much as I have"
Gaston says, "Aha. Bon."

Gaston asks, "So -- what interesting things have you been up to lately, Bronwynn?"
Penny introduces the monk to her parents as 'my literary assistant' and sits down to afternoon tea with them.
Kori says (to Alex), "<She's still there, I assume>"
GM says (to Gaston), ""It is usually a bit less busy, yes, but -- ah, interesting things?""
Michel goes and looks for Alphonse, but stops off in a coffee shop first to soothe the pain of wasting all that good wine
Alexandra says (to Kori), "<fraid so. sounds like she might be joining us for the evening>"
GM says, ""Well, you know how it goes -- oceanic surveys, accounting of ship-wrecks, keeping the pirates in check, managing plankton. The tedious tasks of day-to-day life must not go unhandled even as other things become more important.""
Kori says (to Alex), "<Damn.  I guess I can't spend the whole night locked in the bathroom>"
[Crows-Nest] Alexandra says, "hee hee hee"
Gaston says (to Bronwynn), "You keep a careful watch over your domain, then."
Gaston says, "Many of our kind are much less dedicated."
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "I am so looking forward to wherever this dinner with bronwynn is going"
Alexandra says (to Kori), "<It might be seem a touch odd. Just slightly>"
GM says (to Gaston), ""I have been considering the matters we discussed previously. In fact, shortly afterwards, I received a number of similar proposals from others.""
Kori says (to Alex), "<Okay, okay>"
Gaston says, "I confess I hardly bothered to ensure all the mirrors in this room are pointed in sufficiently interesting directions."
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "for Kori, I suspect it is going downhill rapidly"
Gaston asks (of Bronwynn), "...proposals?"
Alexandra says (to Kori), "<and besides, if there's any plankton or some such growing in the sink, that bathroom might be part of her domain>"

Kori says (to Alex), "<Augh!>"
GM says, ""Alliances, requests for assistance, ...""
Kori emerges from the bathroom a few moments later.  With a strip of toilet clinging to her right heel.
Gaston says (to Bronwynn), "Oh. I understood our own exchange to be on a more informal level."
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "wow, porcelain strips"
[nobilis] Kori says, "er, toilet paper"
Alexandra says (to Gaston), "<what Penny said. You know, it pays it be a *bit* choosy...>"
GM says, "Bronwynn's lips quirk. "Oh, I know what you said -- and I could tell what you meant.""
Alexandra says (to Kori), "<er, check your shoe>"
Gaston says (to Alexandra), "<There was no proposal of that kind. As to whether any other activities which might be associated with such an event took place, I shall leave it to your fevered imaginations.>"

Kori executes a weird little step to remove the toilet paper, and nearly trips herself into the passing waiter.
Michel finishes his espresso, cracks his knuckles loud enough to wake the dead and walks despondently to Alphonse's generic office building

Kori says (to Alexandra), "<Can I just die now?>"
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "too late"
Kori resumes her seat.
Gaston says (to Bronwynn), "I don't doubt your perceptiveness, of course."
Alexandra says, "<Just make sure you will specifies 'no burial at sea' first>"
Kori says (to Alexandra), "<Good call.  I'll add it at once.>"
Gaston says, "<Er -- >"
GM says (to Kori), ""We were beginning to fear you might never return," Bronwynn says."
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "man, my mental image of bronwynn has changed muchly since the party"
Gaston asks (of Kori,Alexandra), "What are your thoughts on alliances between chancels?"
Kori debates whether it would be safe to lie and say there was a long line.
GM says (to Michel), "It's rectangular. men in suits are proceeding in and out of the elevators, carrying their briefcases."
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "now I am imagining her as a lusty piratess wench with a cutlass and an eyepatch."
Kori settles on muttering, "Sorry."
Michel's skin crawls
Kori says (to Gaston), "I-- suppose that depends on the chancel."
[interludes] GM says, "ok, so you arrange for the funeral"
[interludes] Wilfred asks, "Well, once preparations are made, must speak to rest of chancel.  Can I find them?"
Gaston says, "I myself favour flexible and informal relationships based on mutual esteem. Legally binding deals seem too open to abuse."
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "*cough*"
Alexandra says (to Gaston), "<makes me nervous.>"
Michel ensures the elevator is empty before entering

GM says, "in the halls, a few people start to push the elevator button, then their hand jerks back involuntarily, sending them bumping into the line of men behind them and disrupting the whole system"

GM says, "but you don't notice and continue on happily up to his floor"

Michel makes it quite clear with this that he has read the name on the door about five seconds ago
Michel asks, "Apparently some of my friends have been bothering you?"
GM says, "Alphone coughs. "Well, what is it? I'm very busy here and -- ah, yes.""
Gaston says (to Bronwynn), "Oh, I'm sorry, we've been too busy discussing chancel business here."
GM says, ""Catherine finally got up the nerve to write to you, I see.""
Gaston says, "Things always seem to crop up."
Michel reins in his sneer as much as suprahumanly possible, which isn't much
Gaston says, "Tigers are new, though."
Alexandra says, "With so many in the chancel, putting out fires does keep us rather busy"
GM says, "Bronwynn swings her gaze back from the rest of the restaurant. "Of course -- these things do tend to happen.""
Michel says (to Alphonse), "I'll deal with the troublemakers as soon as I find out who they are; this is totally unacceptable behaviour, I think you'll agree"
Kori thinks of recommending something from the menu to Bronwynn, then figures she wouldn't like it.  Then thinks of a joke about Bronwynn being able to put fires out easily, ha ha, but gives that one up, too.
Gaston surreptitiously glances around to see what Bronwynn is looking at.
Michel says, "Cathy said you talked with one of them"
Gaston says, "Using mirrors etc to get a better view."
Kori says (to Gaston), "<Is she expecting someone else?>"
Michel never called Catherine that, of course
Gaston says (to Kori), "<Perhaps she's watching that large clock over there.>"
Kori says (to Gaston), "<She's not the only one>"
GM says, ""I only spoke to one of them myself," Alphonse says, "But that was quite enough for me. He claimed to be from Therese's school and was concerned about her non-attendance, but was quite unable to produce any papers or identification to that effect.""
GM says, ""When I pressed him he eventually admitted he was a friend of yours, although he expressed no desire to pass on a message.""
Michel says, "That is perfectly ridiculous; it is summer for god's sake"
Michel asks, "What did he look like?"
GM says (to Gaston), "it looks like she was -- hunh, that's odd"
GM says (to Gaston), "in the mirror the guy has no reflection at all"
Gaston asks (of GM), "Which guy? The waiter?"
GM says (to Gaston), "But looking away from the mirror, you see she was looking at a guy sitting at a table by himself in the corner, sipping some kind of dark red wine and fiddling with his fork"

GM says, ""Honestly, Gaston, you can be terribly forward sometimes.""
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "I suspect Gaston is checking out how forward Bronwynn is, too"
Michel says (to Alphonse), "This really is infuriating"
Gaston says, "I've never claimed to be without failings."

GM says, "(actually, looking at the man, he seems vaguely familiar, although you can't quite place him)"
Gaston says, "But I have my good side too, indeed."

Alexandra says (to Michel), "<well, maybe there's nothing to find. it's suspicious, but probably not worth going nuts over. so long as your daughter is safe now>"
Michel says (to Alphonse), "This is persisting? I shall have to find him and deal with this myself"
Alexandra asks, "Usual appearance?"
Gaston says (to Alexandra), "Usual people check their appearance in mirrors."
GM says, "Bronwynn goes back to eating her cake delicately, and sipping her own wine. "Well, he no doubt has his reasons for being around -- Jack often does. Although he is just as likely to be nosing around for his own silly jokes.""
Michel says, "<it looks like a stakeout is the only option. though spending any more time in the suburbs would be hellish>"
Penny says, "<I am staying on in england tonight, people"
Alexandra looks in the mirror to confirm
Kori glances over at the guy.
Alexandra says, "Wow, odd."
Gaston says, "Hmm, perhaps I should offer him a few tips on shaving."
Alexandra says (to Penny), "<bring us back some hobnobs>"
Michel says, "I will do my best to ensure this stops promptly"
[nobilis] Gaston says, "(Gaston has no reflection too, of course.)"

Kori says (to Gaston), "<I'm not sure -- I do want to get to this thing tonight.  My roommate seemed eager that I be there.>"

Michel says, "<I am wondering whether they've got the message yet and are looking elsewhere, or if there's some point in sitting as a mantis in some godawful privet all night>"
Gaston says, "<Now we all have a clear picture of what he looks like, at least. I'm still not sure of Jack's involvement in our recent troubles, if any.>"
Kori says, "<A mantis in the privet seems likely to be stepped on>"
[interludes] GM says, "ok, eventually you dig him up, using the fingerprints and the police records"

Michel goes and sits in a coffee bar while mulling over options
Wilfred says, "<Ladies and gentlemen, it appears that our *cough* dear friends have decided that, after Mr Merriman's mills, they should now target our human nearest and dearest.  Perhaps we should get an organised chart of whom to look out for.>"
[nobilis] Gaston asks, "Not that I'm less than enthralled by this completely un-tense conversation, but what time is it, exactly?"

Alexandra says, "<Yikes. Anything specific leading to that conclusion? I mean, it's unlikely, but what happened to John * could* have been an accident....>"

Wilfred says (to Michel), "<Our various talents might not be enough alone.>"
Alexandra glances at her watch
Alexandra says, "We probably should be heading soon to the show"
Gaston says, "I must say I am a little discouraged at the air of distrust in our little corner of noble society. Among some members, at least."
Penny says, "<okay, now I am definitely staying here tonight>"
Kori stands up with obvious relief.
Alexandra says, "I mean, god help us if we miss out on the scant supplies of swill wine"
Wilfred says (to Chaz), "How may I help you, sir"
Gaston says, "Oh, is that the time? Yes, we should be off."
Chaz says, "Davey over in our chancel has been attacked by, we think, the excrucian we routed out of Astara.  I'm pretty sure he's behind a bill that a Senator in St. Louis is introducing that would outlaw motorcycles.  And I thought, 'Hey, Vona's got a bureaucracy guy, maybe he could give us some information.'"
Alexandra says, "<also, how much can we do? I suspect most of us have warned our close ones to be on guard, and taken what steps we can to protect them."
GM says, "Bronwynn rises to her feet. "But of course. Where is this exhibition?""
Alexandra guiltily makes a mental note to stop procrastinating on hiring bodyguards for her brother's twins
Gaston asks (of Alexandra), "I don't suppose there's any chance you can have the catering firm spend buy a few unusually expensive bottles of wine?"
Wilfred says, "Hm.  A bill to outlaw motorcycles, you say."

Michel says (to Wilfred), "<Hell yes>"
Penny says (to Alexandra), "<see, I am unsure that my parents are capable of remaining out of trouble on their own>"
Chaz says, "Yeah, his son was shot at by Davey's anchor while being posessed or something."
Michel returns to the chancel, smelling of inhuman amounts of coffee
Chaz says, "While in a bicycle race."
Chaz says, "Davey's rather fond of motorcycles.  He's Highways, you know."
Michel says, "I don't think I can stand the idea of staking out my ex's home."

Michel greets Chaz
Chaz says, "Oh!  Almost forgot.  I also have this for you all."
GM says, "The four of you head out to the show"
Alexandra reluctantly heads back into the drizzle toward the gallery
Gaston says, "<That's a thought -- what *was* all that business with the squirrels all about?>"
Chaz says (to Michel), "Hi!  Therese's doing great--Alison and she have really hit it off."
Wilfred asks (of Michel), "Perhaps we could encase all our nearest and dearest in a little glass bubble, away from prying eyes?"
GM says, "(Bronwynn seems to manage to miss being in the path of any of the raindrops)"
Wilfred asks (of Chaz), "yes?"
Chaz pulls a large sheet of paper out of his back pocket and gives it to you.  It seems to be a rather detailed map of Locus Octavo.
Gaston says, "<Last double-date *ever*.>"
Gaston says, "<Er, not that I'm suggesting that, um.>"
Wilfred . o O ( I want!  Er, that is.... )
[nobilis] Alexandra says, "too bad franklin's not around to chase up the squirrel motivation"
Chaz asks, "Swiped this from that same Astara Excrucian.  I forget his name--Silver something, maybe?"
[nobilis] Gaston says, "Or Gaston, to chase up the squirrels."
Wilfred says, "*really*."

Michel says (to Chaz), "I just popped over - she seems in good form. but I am concerned that she is not reading enough, so I have picked out some books for her"

Chaz says, "Sure, I'll make sure she reads em, too."
Kori (to Gaston) manages a blistering telepathic glare

GM says, "the art show is just getting started -- the fashionably-late people haven't quite arrived, but on the plus side, you can stake out the good plates of cheese"
Penny says (to chaz), "<feel free to take some fun books for the girls, too>"
[Crows-Nest] Gaston says, "I can see little bits of plot going past in between all this, but schmoozing is much more fun."

Wilfred tries to resist the urge to set up a glaring interrogation lamp.

GM says, "Karin is there, with her paintings, which are, uh, very much so"
Penny says (to chaz), "<well, comics and so on. we have some>"
Alexandra makes a few queries and arranges with the head caterer for the procurement of some decent wine
Chaz says, "Well, he had taken over Locus Astara.  The former chancel of Dew, Squirrels, and Infomercials."
Penny says (to michel), "<only if you're a pseudo-artistic french.. oh, wait>"
Wilfred says, "<Might I suggest Trollope?>"
GM says (to Alexandra), ""Right away, miss," he says"
Alexandra says (to Karin), "hey! The paintings are ... very ... large."
Chaz says, "These towers had risen up and he was hypnotizing the local populace."
Gaston says (to Karin), "You're Karin? Alexandra has told us -- well, not nearly enough about you."
Kori looks around for signs of Sylvia
Chaz says, "They invaded our own chancel, trying to cut off the heart, just like they did to Astara.  But we managed to stop 'em."
GM says (to Kori), "ah, there she is, coming in the door. slightly wet and bedraggled"
[Crows-Nest] Penny says (to gaston), "geez, I think you're out of luck with Karin"
Michel says (to Penny), "<your domain weeps at your words>"
Gaston says, "These paintings are quite stiking."
Kori says (to Sylvia), "<Are you okay?>"
Alexandra says, "Yes, Karin, this is Gaston,, another from my chancel. And kori, whom you've met before"
Chaz says, "So we blew up the towers, and he took off and escaped,but not before taking wih him the... soul, I guess, of one of the former nobilis."
Penny says (to michel), "<my domain is language, not bad literature>"
GM says, "<Oh, I just forgot my umbrella on the bus,> Sylvia says. <And then had to run the last bit to the door here.>"
Kori says (to Karin), "Hello, good to see you again"
Gaston says (to Alexandra), "<She knows about us, then? Hmm, convenient, I suppose.>"
Chaz says, "He left dew in the form of a water drop, and one of the others, in the form of a shaggy mop-like thing."
Wilfred asks, "Which noble was this?"
Kori says (to Sylvia), "<So, what am I supposed to be watching for?>"

GM says, ""I'm glad it's under more-fortunate circumstances," Karin says, with a vague smile."

Chaz says, "We got dew somewhat rehabilitated by dissolving her in a pool, but no luck so far with the mop."
Michel says, "<somehow this seems normal, but... something's missing>"
Penny says (to michel), "<ha, like you appreciate any opinion other than your own>"
[nobilis] Chaz asks (of GM), "I forget what the mop looked like.  Refresher?"
Gaston says (to Alexandra), "<I'm not sure you need to tell me that, but fine.>"

Gaston says (to Kori, indicating Sylvia), "Won't you introduce us -- er, me?"
Chaz says, "It's a fuzzy dustmop with a tail.  We assumed it was squirrels."
GM says, "It looks like this is actually a multiple-artist show. There's another artist who's done some black-and-white sketches, and another who's painted a great number of ponies"
[Crows-Nest] Penny asks, "says the man who bought *what* at a mudmeet?"
Wilfred says (to Chaz), "So you think he might be behind this move to outlaw motorcycles."
Kori gives Gaston a BEHAVE look, but says, "This is my roommate, Sylvia.  Sylvia, um, this is Gaston."
Chaz says, "Yeah."
Alexandra says (to Gaston), "<well, not much sense keeping it a secret from others in the chancel. knowing she's bound to me could come in handy in the future, when trouble pops up.>"
Chaz says, "We got his business card, too."
[Crows-Nest] Wilfred exclaims, "Ponies!"
[Crows-Nest] Michel says, "*cough*Nausea*cough*"
Chaz pulls it out.
Gaston says (to Kori), "<I merely meant that Bronwynn is not looking and therefore -- anyway.>"
Chaz says, "We were hoping Franklin might be able to tell us something about it."
GM says, "The third artist shows up, a woman in her mid-twenties, but the second is nowhere to be seen as of yet"
Kori says (to Gaston), "<unh hunh>"
[Crows-Nest] Michel says, "anyway, voltaire is nothing like sartre, apart from being french, a philosopher, and depressing"
Gaston says, "Now, these pony pictures show an impressively single-minded devotion to the subject."
GM says, "People, as they arrive, mill around the three installations and gawk at the paintings and score hors d'oeuvres"
[Crows-Nest] Kori laughs and laughs
Gaston says, "I am not sure the pastel colours are quite becoming, however."
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "mmhmm"
[Crows-Nest] Wilfred says, "Clearly the girl should be reading Hugo instead."
Kori squints at the pony pictures, but can't make out the artist's last name.  "Liza Squiggle," it looks like.
[Crows-Nest] Alexandra says, "yay!"
[Crows-Nest] Penny says (to Emily), "ha"
[nobilis] GM says (to Kori), ""Daily," I think"
Chaz shows you the business card.  It says "SILVER" in embossed letters on one side, and says, ""Get him the special catalog -- whatever he wants, all the extras"" on the other.
[nobilis] Penny says, "worst pseudonym ever"
Wilfred says, "Hmmmm."
GM says, ""Oh! Sylvia!'"
Michel says, "...and some Antoine Saint-Expury, mrmrm, that should be it"
Kori eats little cheeses on sticks so that she will not be forced to comment on the paintings.
GM says, "A woman comes up to her. "I am so pleased with your paintings! Another set of masterpieces!!""
Gaston examines the sketches critically.
Kori's eyebrows shoot up
Wilfred asks (of Chaz), "To whom was this supposed to be given?"
Chaz says, "I think one of the chancel inhabitants said something about the Silver one and the Bright one ruling them for years."
Chaz says (to Wilfred), "A bike shop."
Wilfred asks (of Chaz), "Which bike shop?"
Michel says, "I seem to recall something similar in Four Winds - oh, wait"
Penny says (to Wilfred), "<hey, can I ask you for a favor?>"
Michel asks, "have we done anything about the buddha head yet?"
Gaston checks to see how bored Bronwynn is.
Wilfred could look into income tax returns, zoning bylaws....
Chaz says, "The Senator's son was in a rich-kid bike gang, and got souped-up bikes and magical jackets from this guy."
Wilfred says (to Penny), "<Hmmm?>"
GM says, ""Uh, actually, these aren't my pictures," Sylvia says. "They're Karin's. I was just, you know, inviting you to come see them.""
Penny says (to wilfred), "<documentation for my parents so they can travel out of england without being traced as them?>"
Chaz says, "And then they challenged Davey's old gang to a competition."
Gaston says (to Bronwynn), "Hmm, I do believe there are some interesting pieces over this way..."
Chaz says, "And at the competition, the son got shot."
GM says, ""Oh, how silly of me!" the woman laughs. "Of course!""
Wilfred says (to Penny), "<Fake passports, you mean.>"
Kori says (to Sylvia), "<who is this?>"
Michel asks (of Chaz), "Dead?"
Penny says (to wilfred), "<basically, yes>"
Chaz says, "No, but he's hospitalized."
Chaz says, "Aisleen got to him in time, and managed to stop the worst of it."
GM says (to Kori), "<She's auditing one of my lit classes. I mentioned I was going to a show. She's nice, but ..>"
GM says, "The woman turns to look at the paintings intently, then shrugs. "I don't like them as much as I did.""
Kori says (to Syl), "<but weird>"
Chaz tells you the name of the shop.
Gaston says, "This one, for instance, which shows the influences of _The Hobbit_, _The Horse And His Boy_, _The Ship of Fools_ and _Grease_, although the artist believes it to be original."
Chaz asks, "Anything odd with the bureaucracy there?"
Kori says (to Syl), "<When did she turn up?>"
Wilfred says (to Penny), "I can probably get them into Hong Kong without changing anything, and from there they can get lost in the red tape and come out on the wrong end of someone elses' documentation."
Alexandra chokes slightly on her wine and stares at the woman
[Crows-Nest] Penny says (to Gaston), "dear lord, that's an image"
GM says (to Gaston), "they're quite good, whatever they are -- they appear to be detailed studies of weird creatures with horns and spikes and wings and stuff; pretty decent detail considering the artist couldn't have been working from a model"
Penny says (to wilfred), "<hmm, that'd do for now>"
Wilfred says (to Chaz), "Hold on."
Chaz says, "Sure."
Wilfred divines official documentation attached to the bike shop.
Michel paces in little circles, twitching with nervous energy
[nobilis] Gaston asks (of GM), "Actually -- can I do my determining-artistic-influences trick again, like with the letter?"
GM says (to Kori), "<A semester or two ago. There aren't that many classes for majors, you know, so we end up in the same ones.>"
Gaston says, "Ah, now, *this* one is intriguing."
Gaston says, "One would have to assume it is original, and yet... hmm."
GM says (to Gaston), "you get the vague mental impression of scales and teeth and something moving in the darkness"
GM says (to Wilfred), "it appears the bike shop has been under suspicion for transaction in stolen goods for some time, but they've never been able to prove anything"
Wilfred says, "Hmmm ..."
Michel says, "All right, that settles it. I am going to go and stalk my daughter's mother, I am a bad person, no matter"
Penny packs off her parents on 'holiday' to Hong Kong, with wilfred's help.
Wilfred divines internal paperwork and bookkeeping.
Michel paces in circles a couple of times, and then out of the chancel
Penny then returns to the chancel.
Kori says (to Syl), "<Hmm.>"
Michel goes and does his mantis-in-the-bushes stakeout
Chaz exclaims (at Penny), "Hi!"
GM says, ""Such a nice young man, Penny, if a bit quiet -- do bring him back again.""
Wilfred says (to Chaz), "They're suspected of fencing stolen property.  That may be one way of shutting the place down, if you should want to."
[Crows-Nest] Kori says, "har"
[Crows-Nest] Chaz exclaims, "Hee!"
Penny says (to Mother), "whatever you say, mother."
Michel waves vaguely to Penny as he leaves
Chaz exclaims (at Wilfred), "Interesting!"
Penny says (to chaz), "hello"
GM says (to Wilfred), "well, it looks like they do a good business normally in motorcycles and motorcycle apparel"
Chaz asks (of Penny), "Hey, can you tell me about the history of this money?"
Penny asks (of chaz), "did you pick up any books for therese and alison?"
Penny asks, "which money?"
[nobilis] Gaston idles briefly to make tea. (Assume he's still schmoozing.)
Wilfred says (to Chaz), "If you can find proof that this senator's son knowingly bought stolen goods, you might have the senator discredited ... call the bill an attempt to cover up his son's wrongdoing."
Chaz says, "Oops, wait, you're language."
Penny says, "yeah, you'd need alexandra"
Chaz nods.
GM says (to Wilfred), "but then, hmm. You get the feeling, analyzing it all, that there are things being carefully off the books"
Chaz says (to Penny), "For you, a different question."
Wilfred cracks knuckles.
Chaz pulls out a scrap of paper with odd writing on it.
Chaz says, "We think it's Excrucian."
Penny says, "they don't call us chancel boring library research for nothing!"
Chaz says, "Got it from a puzzle box from a bad guy's desk in Astara."
Chaz grins.
Penny takes the paper, and checks out the writing, doing a minor divination to read it if necessary.
Wilfred says (to Penny), "Hey ... it doesn't have to be done in a library."
Alexandra pulls Karin aside to chat with her about the potential threats to her chancel members' friends and family, and to renew their always-running argument about installing some security systems in her studio
Penny says (to wilfred), "true, but we do live in a library"
Penny frowns at the paper.  "Yeah, this is execrucian, though the execrucian writing I've seen before it different to this"
GM says (to Alexandra), "oddly, this time she agrees almost immediately. "Yeah, I guess you're right -- I ought to get some kind of better security system in there; maybe something for the windows.""
Michel finds a hibiscus and sits on it, hoping to catch some moths
Wilfred asks (of GM), "Hmm ... can I try a miracle ... to conjure up the properly filled-out accounting books?"
Alexandra starts, but happily sets up shopping-trip plans for tomorrow
Penny says, "it reads 'The light brings out the truth and dispels shadows -- may you live in interesting times.  Lucky numbers are 32, 15, 49, 6.'"
Chaz asks (of Wilfred), "Can you tell me anything about the bill itself?  Can you preserve the bureaucracy of the senate, maybe, to make sure he can't push it through?"
Penny hands the note back to Chaz.  "Execrucian fortune cookie?"
Chaz says (to Penny), "That's... odd."
Gaston looks around for the artist who did the weird creature paintings.
Chaz asks, "Though Stella is light, and isn't Jack Shadows?  Who's truth?"
[nobilis] GM says (to Wilfred), "hmm, interesting"
Penny waves a hand at the monk that came back through with her.  "Oh, by the way, this is Marcus.  Marcus, meet Chaz."
Chaz exclaims, "Hi, Marcus!"
Wilfred says (to Chaz), "My dear fellow ... Bureaucracy is designed to facilitate movement and change, with efficient record-keeping so that everything and anything is accessible to one who knows where to look ... I can't just freeze it so that it doesn't move."
Kori turns to look at Karin
Gaston says (to Wilfred), "<I believe the word is "foomf".>"
Chaz says (to Wilfred), "I meant just make sure he can't push it through without going through *all* the proper channels."
Wilfred says (to Chaz), "Though I suppose if someone should notice some technical difficulty, it could be slowed to a snail's pace...."
GM says, "Karin starts slightly as the remaining artist comes in through the door, and wanders over to stand negligently by his paintings."
Chaz grins.
GM says, ""I didn't realize Jack drew," Bronwynn murmurs."
Michel says, "<Wow. Moths taste really disgusting.>"
[nobilis] Gaston asks, "Ooh, is Jack the creature-artist?"
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "oh, my"
Alexandra glances over at the artist and sighs
[nobilis] GM says, "apparently"
[nobilis] Gaston says, "(Possibly a nice summary of him in any event.)"
Gaston approaches Jack.
[nobilis] GM says (to Wilfred), "ok, I think you can summon up the books with a minor creation, but they won't be complete, since not all the data is available"
GM says, "Jack bows slightly. "You have excellent taste is restaurants.""
Gaston says, "This your work, then, my good sir? You have an impressive eye for detail."
[nobilis] Gaston says, "Er, with an 'is' in there somewhere."
[interludes] GM has removed Wilfred from the channel.
[interludes] GM has added Michel to the channel.
[nobilis] Wilfred says, "Clearly, I desperately need that fourth point in Domain, given all the creation I'm asked to do."
[interludes] Michel says, "well, well"
[interludes] Michel says, "somehow I doubt this is to do with my epic battle with moth-based cuisine"
Gaston says (to Jack), "I must defer to my lady of Edges in that respect."
[interludes] GM says, "At last your vigil is rewarded -- you see two men tiptoeing across the lawn towards the window of what was Therese's room"
[interludes] GM says, "It's hard to sneak across a neatly-mown lawn in the suburbs, but they're doing what they can"
Chaz says, "Oh, and I had a question for all of you.  Wanna trade some of our magicians for some of your armed monks?  The invisibility spells really come in handy."
Chaz says, "And they have some excellent confusion and defensive spells."
Wilfred says (to Chaz), "there might be something fishy with the bike shop's books, too.  I can't determine it, myself (perhaps the Power of Accounting might) but sending the auditors over might be the way to go."
[interludes] Michel watches and waits
Gaston says (to Jack), "I do believe this is the first time we've met since that party."
Chaz says (to Wilfred), "Thanks."
Gaston asks (of Jack), "Have you been keeping yourself busy?"
[interludes] GM says, "They argue in undertones, and finally one pulls out some kind of crowbar-like thing and starts to jimmy the window sill"
Penny says (to Chaz), "I'm not sure the monks would fit in at your circus, or you sircus folk would fit in here"
GM says, ""I have a certain amount to monitor, yes. And it seems you have been keeping busy yourself.""
Chaz grins.
[interludes] Michel becomes human and sneaks towards them
Chaz says, "It's a *carnival*."
[interludes] GM says, "Eventually they get the window open, and one guy starts to lift the other guy in."
[interludes] Michel screws a silencer onto a heavy pistol
[interludes] Michel says, "Ahem."
Penny says, "but perhaps Marcus here can go ask around for volunteers, while he goes to don something more appropriate to these surroundings."
Gaston says (to Jack), "Oh, you know. I do not think any of us have embarked on such visible endeavours in the mortal world, though, as you seem to have done."
[interludes] GM says, "The two men jump -- the one climbing in the window bangs his head, painfully, on the edge of the window, and falls backwards out on top of the other guy, knocking the two of them to the ground in the flower beds"
Chaz says, "And it's not *just* a carnival.  There's a village, too."
[interludes] Michel stands over them, making sure the gun's visible
Penny sends Marcus off to ask the other monks.
[interludes] Michel says, "We may want to have a little chat, my friends."
GM says, "Jack strokes his chin thoughtfully. "Everyone must keep busy somehow -- I believe you are an artist yourself, are you not? And then Armande has his line of clothing, Amanda her -- heh -- novels, and so on.""
[interludes] GM says, ""Uh ...""
[interludes] Michel says, "Stand up, slowly, and walk out of the garden. I will be right behind you. Try not to make too much noise - this is a residential area"
[interludes] GM says, ""Yes, sir -- right away, sir.""
Gaston says, "I understood Amanda's books to be more in the manner of inspirational non-fiction, but I admit I haven't yet had the pleasure of reading them."
[nobilis] Chaz asks (of GM), "I mentally flip through that Etiquette book to remember who Truth was.  Is there one?"
Wilfred begins thinking again about what to do with John and Rupert.
[interludes] GM says, "The two men scramble to their feet and start walking."
[interludes] GM says, "(brushing garden-mould off their clothes)"
[nobilis] Wilfred says (to Chaz), "I don't think you can handle Truth."
[nobilis] Gaston exclaims, "Ya!"
[nobilis] Gaston exclaims, "Er, yay!"
[nobilis] Penny says (to chaz), "you're in a library.  you could flip through the book in reality."
[interludes] Michel asks (of GM), "is my coffee-shop in Marseilles up and running yet?"
[nobilis] GM says, "There is no Truth, no"
[nobilis] Chaz says, "Heh."
[interludes] GM asks, "yeah, you started it a while back, right?"
[interludes] Michel says, "hmm... yeah"
[nobilis] Penny says (to Gaston), "'ya!' makes you sound like Jilly cooper"
[nobilis] Gaston says, "Truth wears much more outlandish clothes than Fiction, at least."
[interludes] Michel says, "though I'd probably have put the wilderness ones first, so it's probably a bit early on"
GM says, ""It's true she classifies it as non-fiction, but in that case there's no excuse whatsoever for the writing.""

[interludes] Michel ushers them into the darkened coffee-shop and sits them down at a table
Penny waits for Marcus to come back with details of volunteers.
Gaston asks (of Jack), "What of your own work? How would you classify it?"
[interludes] Michel says, "(after something of a long walk, no doubt)"
[interludes] GM says, ""Hey, nice place," one guy says. "I bet they make a mean cappucino.""
GM says, ""A hobby.""
GM says (to Penny), "some monks could probably be found who'd be willing to relocate, yeah, although they are a bit nervous about what they've heard about Feriarum"
GM says, ""But yes, it's much easier to draw from life.""
[interludes] Michel asks, "Oh yeah, only the best beans... oh, yeah, the interrogating thing. You don't mind if I brew a pot, do you?"
Wilfred thinks that the best way to slow down a bill would be to just let it go until it's almost passed, and then hit it with a Bureaucracy Preservation, whereupon someone will find something that should have been done but wasn't, and it'll have to start all over again.
[interludes] GM says, "The man spreads his hands. "Uh, fine by us.""
[interludes] Michel puts the percolator on and sits on a table
Penny says (to Chaz), "well, I guess we have some monks who might be willing to help you lot out"
[interludes] Michel says, "Sooo."
[interludes] Michel says, "I bet you can guess what the first question is."
Chaz says (to Wilfred), "Sure, thanks."
[interludes] GM says, "(nervously) "Yes?""

Penny says (to chaz), "as long as they don't keel over from culture shock"
[interludes] Michel asks, "Come on, it's a fairly standard question. Do I really have to insult your intelligence by asking it myself?"

Gaston says (to Jack), "You are much too self-deprecating. These pieces are rather cleverly devised."
[interludes] GM says, "The other one elbows him in the ribs. "Ow! Okay, fine, fine""

Chaz says (to Penny), "Thanks!  We'll send over some mages, if you want 'em."
[interludes] GM says, ""The word on the streets is that there's a reward to the guy who brings this Therese kid in""

Chaz asks, "Anything else I can help with?  Other folks that need watching over, like Therese?"
Gaston asks (of Bronwynn), "What is your opinion on the matter?"
Wilfred says (to Chaz), "You're welcome.  Now ... I have a few fingerprints to track down."
[interludes] Michel says, "If there's a word, it has a source, if you were looking for a reward you knew where to collect it"
Penny asks, "No, I don't think so... unless one of the others needs some help?"
[interludes] GM says, ""You know, you hear it from people. I think Jacque the Knife said he got it from Pierre One-ear or Vince the Baguette.""

Penny says (to penny), "oh, except I believe some of our chancel had some experience with squirrels last week"
Penny says, "(er, to chaz)"
GM says, "Bronwynn studies them closely herself. "They're clever," she eventually admits grudgingly. "I suppose you'd prefer watercolors," Jack smirks."
[interludes] Michel asks, "So, had you found the girl, where would you have taken her?"
[Crows-Nest] Gaston says, "Heh."
Penny says (to chaz), "the squirrels were being used to sabotage paper mills"
Kori smiles faintly at this exchange.
Chaz says, "Oh?  Wonder if Mr. Silver was imitating the squirrel guy who's currently a mop."
Wilfred mutters something about bloody unorthodox methods.
Chaz says, "Also, that's really weird."
Penny says, "I belive Gaston got quite attached to the squirrels, so if you ask him he may be able to give more details"
[interludes] Michel says, "One assumes you wouldn't just sit there and wait for money to come to you."
[interludes] GM says, ""Jacque said we were supposed to -- hrm, what was it? There was some bar, wasn't there? And we could put up a notice on the board.""
Chaz asks, "Excrucians can become the false power of us, can't they?"
[interludes] Michel says, "Or tell your low-life buddies and get them in on the money as well. You'd know by now."
[interludes] GM says, ""And then somebody would contact us. But, uh, I guess we might not be collecting on that any time soon.""

Gaston says (to Jack), "Oh, we would not dream of preventing you from being oily."
Chaz asks, "Hey, did you guys ever find Lo's chancel?"
Michel says, "<okay, any idea on how best to dispose of the bodies of two low-life child-kidnapping criminal scum? Tyoka?>"
Wilfred says, "We did."
Penny says (to Chaz), "yeah, wilfred, raul and michel did so"
GM says, ""I imagine oil would not agree with the good Duchess either -- but perhaps she will not begrudge me pencil-and-paper.""
Chaz asks, "Did you find it's heart?"
Wilfred says, "<The proper method would be trial by ju ... wait, "bodies"?>"
Penny says (to michel), "<dropping them into a volcano?>"
GM says, ""Humf," Bronwynn says, and stalks away to go look at Karin's again. "Much better. And so very blue.""
[interludes] Michel says, "Some bar. A notice on the board. I could really do with some specifics here."
[nobilis] Gaston says, "Oops, I thought these were oils. Silly me."
Wilfred says, "<If they're already dead, then I suggest leaving them for the police.>"
Penny says (to michel), "<or perhaps staking them outin a desert and letting the vultures eat them?>"
Chaz says (to Michel), "<Tyoka's off on some quest right now, but he might answer him if you asked.>"
Michel says (to Penny), "<now there's an option I like the spirit of, if not the specifics>"
Gaston says (to Bronwynn), "You like blue? But that's merely the colour of the sky."

Penny says (to michel), "<given your attachment to swamps, why not dump the bodies in one?>"
[Crows-Nest] Wilfred says, "My uncle told me once his opinion of the appropriate method for dealing with people who hurt children ... something to do with dragging them around by the vas deferens."
Chaz says (to Michel), "<Or you could put them in something and empty it.>"
[nobilis] GM says, "the other two are; Jack's are pencil and paper"

Kori is being as quiet as possible, but observing everyone's interactions

[nobilis] Alexandra says, "hanging out, trying not to flinch too obviously from the art, chatting with Karin a bit"
Gaston says (to Kori), "<Look, I'm not even touching her right now, let alone 'interacting'.>"
[nobilis] Wilfred asks (of GM), "By the way ... can I still find Darren?"
[interludes] Michel sighs, and puts them both into unconsciousness

Kori says (to Gaston), "<that's not what I'm worried about... Sylvia seems concerned, and I'm trying to see whether anyone here is a real threat to her>"
Gaston says (to Kori), "<Well, Jack is about as slimy as they come.>"
Michel says, "<Okay, I could do with a little help getting a couple of unconscious imbeciles out of Marseilles>"
Gaston says (to Kori), "<Other than that... did you find out who she's worried about?>"

Penny heads out to help Michel
Alexandra says, "<hmm. Karin and I are going shopping tomorrow for security systems ... want to come along with Sylvia? Is her apartment in decent shape, or could it use some additional hardware?>"
Alexandra says (to Michel), "<My you've been busy this evening>"
Michel says, "<and then possibly some backup at a criminal dive, and, unh, Wilfred's help in setting up an untraceable phone number>"
Chaz asks (of Michel), "Need a lift?"
[nobilis] Chaz says, "Er, in <>'s."
Alexandra says (to Michel), "<what happened?>"
GM says, "Meanwhile, Karin is advancing a bit nervously towards Jack. "Uh .. hello?" she says, tentatively."
Wilfred says (to Michel), "<sure.......>"
Gaston tries not to look like he's listening carefully.
Michel says, "<I caught a couple of crooks attempting to break into my daughter's room. thank god I moved her>"
Michel says (to Chaz), "<it would be appreciated>"
Wilfred bids farewell to Chaz and others in chancel and heads out to Michel and Marseilles.
Chaz says (to Michel), "<Be right over.>"
GM says, "Jack looks briskly over at her. "I don't think we've met, Ms --" "Karin," Karin says. "Ah.""
Chaz heads over with Wilfred.
Kori says (to Alexandra), "<good idea>"
Penny says, "<wait, we're all heading out to Marseilles? hmm, maybe I should wait behind>"
Michel gives directions to a coffee shop
GM says, ""But I am of course pleased to do so." Jack extends his hand out to shake, and Karin, somewhat reluctantly, reaches out her own."
Alexandra says (to Michael), "<wow. yes indeed.>"
Wilfred says, "<setting up an untraceable phone number is easy ... here, I'll show you all the forms that need to be filled....>"
Kori says (to Gaston), "<Hmm-- I'm not sure what's going on.  I think she's been a bit spooked by how nervous Karin's been>"
Gaston asks (of Bronwynn), "Is this Jack's ulterior motive, I wonder?"
Alexandra watches the Karin-Jack show, poised to interceed if necessary
Michel says, "<a car would be useful here...>"
GM says, "At the contact, though she flinches slightly beforehand, she looks suddenly relieved. Making excuses, she pulls her hand back and retreats back to her own paintings, where she seems to have perked up and chatters away pleasedly to the people about her artistic motivations and the political statements made by an all-blue canvas"
Gaston says, "<Hmmmmm.>"
Chaz says (to Michel), "<Who needs a car?  I'll just skate over>"
Wilfred says (to Michel), "<...I'll rent a Hertz.>"
Gaston talks to Karin about her paintings.
Michel says (to Chaz), "<if you can transport and conceal two large thugs in a skateboard, I will be impressed>"
Chaz says (to Michel), "<That's what the invisibility spells are for.>"
Gaston says, "(I'm also trying to gauge whether she seems, well, her normal self. Not that I know her very well.)"
GM says (to Gaston), ""Oh, yes, well you see the lighter blue shade represents the third-world nations -- and then I've covered it with a thick coating of darker blue, which I think really gets across the *character* of the essential method by which ..""
Gaston exclaims (at Karin), "Intriguing!"
Alexandra says (to Karin), "<what was that about? since when does attention from a guy perk you up?>"
GM says, "She seems normal enough, albeit relieved. Like someone who's just taken a hard exam."
Michel is standing over two prone bodies in a closed coffee shop, unable to resist kicking them in the ribs every now and again
Chaz skates up.
Chaz asks, "Aha.  Where do you want 'em?"
Michel says, "very good of you to assist"
GM says (to Alexandra), "<That was so weird,> Karin says. <I think I've been dreaming about him or something.>"
[Crows-Nest] Kori says, "heh"
Kori says (to Alexandra), "<um, I didn't mention this earlier because I wasn't sure whether it was just nerves on her part, but Sylvia seems to think Karin's not acting like herself lately>"
GM says (to Alexandra), "<In the dreams he's always grinning at me from the shadows, and then he reaches out -- and when his hand touches me, I burst into flames and wake up.>"
Michel says (to Chaz), "I'm thinking remote Outer Mongolia, naked, about a day's walk from the nearest yurt, assuming they choose to walk in the right direction"
GM says (to Alexandra), "<And then when somebody actually showed up here who looked kind of similar -- wow, it was crazy.>"
Chaz chuckles.
Gaston analyses the brushstrokes of Karin's blue painting, to see what it's *really* about.
Alexandra says (to Karin), "<arrrugh. crazy stuff is not good stuff, these days>"
Chaz asks, "Got everything you need from 'em?"
Alexandra says (to Kori), "<yeah, something is up. I was only half paying attention to him at the restaurant -- what do we know about this Jack? I think he's messing with Karin's head>"
Michel says (to Chaz), "they didn't know much, but I have some idea"
Alexandra says (to Karin), "<look, stay away from him for the evening. and stay close to me.>"
Chaz nods.
Gaston says (to Kori,Alexander), "<Who organised this show? Can we find out how they discovered Jack?>"
Michel says (to Penny), "<oh, just thought of something>"
Kori says (to Alexandra), "<I don't know much about him either, but if he's interfering with her...>"
Penny asks (of michel), "hm?"
GM says (to Alexandra), "<Gladly.>"
Chaz scoops up the two bodies, slings one over each shoulder.
Chaz turns invisible and flies off.
GM says, "Karin takes a step or two closer to Alexandra, although she keeps chatting to the art critic who's currently interrogating her."
Wilfred says, "Hold on, let's take a look at their wallets and IDs."
[nobilis] Penny says, "er, < and > in there, somewhere"
Gaston says (to Kori,Alexander), "<Also -- should we keep this secret from Bronwynn?>"
Michel says (to Penny), "<can you do some handwriting that couldn't be analysed? so that... you know, I could just type it. never mind, thanks>"
Alexandra says (to Gaston), "<Mmm, good question. I think it was the gallery owner -- karin and I met him at another show a few years ago. He's around here somewhere.>"
Gaston says (to Kori,Alexander), "<She may be useful. And if she is an enemy, she surely already knows everything.>"
GM says, "(The gallery owner's talking to the pony girl at the moment)"
Chaz flies back over Wilfred, drops their wallets to him.
Chaz says (to wilfred), "<Anything else?>"
Alexandra says (to Gaston), "<can you think of a subtle way of pumping Bronwynn for information about Jack? he's obviously not a normal human. I'd like to know what he's capable of doing. If she knows>"
Wilfred checks IDs, traces official docs....
Gaston says (to Alexander), "<*cough*>"
Michel says (to Wilfred), "now, that phone line... I need to put a card in this nasty little dive to say that we've captured Therese... then we can find out who's looking for her"
[nobilis] Chaz asks, "Haven't you guys already met Jack?"
Alexandra says, "<ok, bad choice of phrases ...>"
[nobilis] Chaz asks, "Like, at the first party?"
[Crows-Nest] Wilfred says, "@emits Suddenly, pony girl's cell phone rings and the gallery tips over into the water."
GM says (to Wilfred), "these guys look like small-time crooks who have dropped out of high school and been in trouble with the police for various petty things from age 12 until now"
[nobilis] Alexandra says, "did we? if so, oopsie. Alex's memory is a mere aspect 1."
[nobilis] Chaz says, "Heh."
Gaston says (to Bronwynn), "<It seems our Jack isn't just here for the adoration of the critics after all. He seems to have taken an interest in the woman who painted these blue pieces.>"
[nobilis] GM says, "(Jack barged in at the end of the party and interrupted it)"
[nobilis] GM says, "I don't know if that counts as meeting or not"
[nobilis] Chaz says, "Hmm."
Michel says, "so I could do with a phone number to be contacted by, that can't be traced if excrucians check up on it"
Michel says, "similarly, no prints or identifying marks on the card"
[nobilis] Alexandra says, "oh, ah ha. looking at transcripts now. so I see"
[nobilis] Chaz says, "I mentioned who Jack is earlier to Penny this evening, at least."
Michel says, "or, nah, that'd look suspicious, we can use those thugs for prints"
Alexandra scans the room for the gallery director
Wilfred asks, "You mean, graft their fingertips onto yours?"
Michel says (to Wilfred), "or just cram their meaty paws onto the card"
[nobilis] Wilfred asks, "er, what card?"
[nobilis] Wilfred says, "oh, that card"
GM says (to Gaston), "<If so, he's wasting his time -- isn't she with that friend of yours?>"
[nobilis] Alexandra says, "my multi-plotthread-following abilities are, er, a bit dull. I missed it."
Wilfred says (to Michel), "Right."
Gaston says (to Bronwynn), "<Wasting his time in more ways than one. But perhaps he is really interested in Alexandra, then.>"
Michel says, "can this be done? I would like to get to the Pig and Pate promptly"
[nobilis] Wilfred says (to Alexandra), "I tend to miss other people's plots when I'm following my own ... brain edits out irrelevant lines."
[nobilis] Chaz says (to Alex), "I just didn't want to say directly, since I presume I'm not in on the thought-broadcasts ;-)"
[nobilis] Alex says (to Chaz), "Okay, that long thing you just said is not in on the thought-broadcasts ;-)."
Gaston says (to Bronwynn), "<What *is* his hobby? Certainly not drawing.>"
Michel does the minor guise to make himself look more shifty and criminal
[Crows-Nest] katre says, "ha! (to chaz and alex)"
Wilfred says (to Michel), "Getting an untraceable number shouldn't be difficult ... just a few forms to fill in with the phone company, and then have the forms go mysteriously missing."
Michel fiddles around in some drawers and finds some blank paper for a card
Wilfred says (to Michel), "As for the dive ... don't see how that's such a great problem right now."
GM says (to Gaston), "<Well -- He's one of the oldest nobilis I know, on par with myself and Drake. He keeps his hand in many things -- interfering and so on.>"
Alexandra gets frustrated and decides on the direct approach
Alexandra strides over to Jack to introduce herself again
Michel says (to Wilfred), "excellent"
Gaston says (to Bronwynn), "<Oh, now this could be interesting.>"
GM says (to Gaston), "<Jack has an unhealthy fascination with things Excrucian; I think I heard someplace he can even read the script, which is more than I'd care for. But he's stopped Excrucian attacks in the past a few times that seemed unstoppable.>"
Alexandra says (to Jack), "Hello. Alex Kettering, Currency. Our previous meeting was rather terse. I'm afraid we haven't been properly introduced."
Michel says, "but this would take time, right? too much time and the criminal fraternity'll work out that Therese isn't about"
GM says, ""So we haven't. Jack, Shadows.""
Wilfred asks (of Michel), "You need the phone *now*?"
GM says, ""Enjoying the party? Your, ah, friend there seems to be attracting quite a crowd.""
Alexandra says, "Ah. Nice to meet you. I've not encountered many other Nobles who retain an interest in mortal art."
Gaston says (to Alexandra), "<I believe the phrase is 'you go, girl!'.>"
[nobilis] GM says (to Gaston), "hee hee"
Michel says (to Wilfred), "well, tonight would be nice"
Alexandra says, "Mm. She does do that, on occasion. Though few of them ever end up becomming customers of hers, not that I can blame them."
Alexandra says, "She mentioned your familarity to her."
GM says, "Jack chuckles. "I prefer something a bit less -- eh?""
GM says, "He seems to be using his full attention for the first time this evening. "She said what?""
Gaston says (to Bronwynn), "I was rather hoping to avoid these intrigues tonight, I must say."
Gaston says (to Bronwynn), "But it seems to come with the lifestyle."
GM says, "Bronwynn chuckles. "Oh, Gaston, you're so charmingly naive sometimes.""
Alexandra says, "That she's seen you in her dreams, reaching out for her. We've been having some troubles in our chancel lately, so hearing things like that puts me a bit ... on edge."
[nobilis] Wilfred asks (of GM), "Can I speed up a bureaucratic process with a minor preservation?"
GM says, "She reaches out and chucks you under the chin."
Gaston says (to Bronwynn), "I try."
[nobilis] GM says, "speed up? hmm, I guess"
Gaston says (to Bronwynn), "And you can be so charmingly direct."
Alexandra says, "If you have been appearing to her, I'm a bit curious as to why."
[nobilis] Chaz says, "I thought that would take a major destruction."
[nobilis] Wilfred says, "Or a ghost miracle ... hm ... anyway, I try to speed up the process for authorising an untraceable number for Michel."
Michel says (to Wilfred), "if it can't get done tonight, no matter... I could go and torment those bastards for a bit"
Michel says, "it's not a huge deal"
GM says, "Jack frowns. "I assure you, I consider dreams inviolate -- shadows of the mind, as it were.""
Kori says (to Gaston), "<And you both can be so charmingly... nauseating>"
GM says, ""I admit I may have been by her studio once or twice, but that is the extent of it.""
[nobilis] Wilfred says (to Chaz), "haha"
GM says, ""But it is worrying that I appear thusly.""
[nobilis] GM says (to Kori), "hee hee"
Gaston asks (of Bronwynn), "Does our own meeting fall into the category of 'intrigue'?"
Alexandra eyes him cautiously.
Gaston says, "I had not been thinking in quite those terms."
[nobilis] GM says (to Wilfred), "I think if Michel wants an untraceable phone number he should just call somebody up and order one through a front company"
[nobilis] GM says, "although I guess you can speed that up a bit"
Alexandra says, "If that's so, then perhaps another party is tampering with the affairs of us both."
[nobilis] GM says, "or he could buy a cellphone under a fake identity"
[nobilis] Penny says, "okay, this little noble is falling asleep here"
GM says, "Bronwynn smiles slightly. "Both business and pleasure, yes.""
[nobilis] Wilfred says, "Well, I guess I should know all the ins and outs of getting things done quickly.  So I do that."
[nobilis] Penny says, "so, er, penny is catching up on much-needed beauty sleep"
[nobilis] GM says, "alrighty"
[nobilis] GM says, "we're almost done here, anyway"
[nobilis] Michel says, "yeah, but cellphones can give away your location, cellphone messages are logged, front companies can still be got through if you're a nobilis"
[nobilis] Wilfred asks (of Penny), "while her parents fly to Hong Kong?"
[nobilis] Penny says (to wilfred), "right"
[nobilis] GM says (to Michel), "right, but there's nothing untraceable in that sense"
[nobilis] Penny says, "okay, g'night all"
Penny has disconnected.
Penny goes home.
Alexandra makes a mental note to check through the chancel library later for any references to Jack. To gauge his trustworthiness and reputation.
Gaston chucks Bronwynn under the chin.
[nobilis] Michel says, "mrmf, I'll just use the coffee house's number, then, and hope that not too many of my staff get shot"
GM says (to Alexandra), ""It seems not impossible. There are .. inconsistencies I have been looking to track down.""
Gaston says quickly, "Shall we get some more wine?", and goes to look for some.
Alexandra makes a mental note to get the monks to make a nice futuristic Palm Pilot for her so she can stop making so damn many mental notes that are bound to get lost
[nobilis] GM laughs and laughs
[nobilis] Chaz says, "You could get that thought-record technology so you can keep track of your own thoughts ;-)"
Gaston says (to Alexandra), "<We should also research these strange beasts that Jack has drawn.>"
[nobilis] GM says, "ok, folks have other stuff they want to do here? Michel's going to tack up a notice and wait for a response, but that won't come through until next time"
Gaston says (to Alexandra), "<I suspect they're still lives.>"
Michel types up the number along with HAVE THERESE PRUD'HON on a scrap of paper, being careful not to touch it without gloves, and then heads Pigwards
Alexandra asks (of Jack), "Relating to your visits to her studio? Or is she uninvolved in any plans of yours?"
[nobilis] Michel says, "well, assuming I don't get mugged, that'd be it"
[nobilis] Chaz says, "I want to ask Alex something when she gets back."
[nobilis] Alexandra says, "...Chaz hey, I want that in real life!"
[nobilis] Chaz says, "Heh."
[nobilis] Michel asks (of Chaz), "did you dump those guys in Outer Mongolia, or just to the chancel?"
[nobilis] Chaz says, "Outer Mongolia."
[nobilis] Michel asks, "ah, excellent. depantsed?"
[nobilis] Chaz says, "Naturally."
[nobilis] Michel says, "I suppose I could go over there and grant them mythic vision just to make everything more horrible"
[nobilis] Alexandra says, "ha. well, soon as Alex wraps up the conversation with Jack, she'll head back to the chancel for the night"
[nobilis] Michel says, "but they wouldn't appreciate it"
GM says (to Alexandra), ""Karin may have mentioned an incursion at her studio some time ago -- I am interested in the cult which perpetrated it.""
[nobilis] Wilfred bets that they run into the real John McRae Edwards there.
[nobilis] Gaston says, "Gaston will be heading back to the chancel at, uh, some point."
[nobilis] Chaz says, "I admit to one small ghost miracle of whimsy so they're relatively likely to start walking in the right direction."
[nobilis] Michel goes and sleeps as a mantis in the privet, and this time just quietly beats the shit out of anyone turning up
[nobilis] GM laughs.
Alexandra says, "Ah. It's growing late, but this matter is one that warrents further discussion. Perhaps we can arrange for the three of us to speak later this week about the incident? I also would like to find out what happened there."
Wilfred goes back to chancel to arrange funeral invitations, and to finish up tracing the dead guy's antecedents.  Also, to follow up on Australian police ... see if he can't find out what happened to Darren.
[nobilis] Michel says, "or I could just ship a constant supply of French criminals out to mongolia... they could set up their own little society and fascinate anthropologists when they are finally discovered generations later"
Gaston says (to Alexandra), "<By the way, Jack is apparently a very ancient Nobilis and is presumably highly dangerous. If he happens to be on Their side.>"
[Crows-Nest] Alexandra says, "that's making some wildly optimisic assumptions about the capabilities of the aussie police"
Gaston says (to Alexandra), "<So if you must meet him alone, please be careful.>"
Alexandra says, "<Goody>"
GM says, ""Yes, I think that might be useful. My card --""
Alexandra pockets his, and hands over one of her own
GM says, "Jack's hand flickers to his pocket and he brings out a small business card, which he hands over, exchanging for Alexandra's"
Alexandra says, "Until later"
Alexandra steps away and scans for Karin, Gaston and Kori
GM says, ""I will count the minutes.""
GM says, "Jack bows slightly again and returns to chatting with the art critics."
[Crows-Nest] Gaston says (to Jack), "Ewwww."
[Crows-Nest] Michel says (to Gaston), "you may say 'ewww' but I saw you note that one down"
Alexandra says quietly to Karin, "You'd best come with me back to the chancel tonight. I don't love bringing you there, but I don't trust leaving you here tonight.
[Crows-Nest] Gaston says, "Man, this guy is slimy and no witty comments please."
[nobilis] Michel says, "all right. nice one inky, night night all"
GM says (to Alexandra), ""You really think so? Well, I can't really argue -- you've been so busy lately, we haven't really had the time ...""
[nobilis] GM says, "g'night"
[Crows-Nest] Alexandra says, "hee hee hee"
[nobilis] Gaston says, "Night."
GM says, "and the party eventually breaks up and people head out, commmenting on how much better than average the wine was"
[Crows-Nest] Alexandra says, "and more hee hee"
Michel fills the null-field.

Alexandra is back at the chancel, with Karin rapturously tucked away looking at art books
Alexandra asks (of Chaz), "sure, what's up?"
Chaz pulls out two $20 bills, new, sequential serial numbers.
Chaz says, "There were given to a guy in exchange for cutting the brakes on a truck of one of Davey's anchors."
[nobilis] Gaston says, "Okay, time for me to sleep."
[nobilis] GM says, "g'night"
[nobilis] Gaston says, "You probably shouldn't wait up for Gaston back at the chancel."
Chaz asks, "Can you tell me anything about their history?"
[nobilis] GM says, "rowr"
Chaz says, "They didn't know much themselves."
Alexandra says, "Charming. Sure, let me check."
Gaston has disconnected.
Gaston goes home.
Alexandra does the Major Divination thing
GM says (to Alexandra), "even a minor will work here -- it looks like they were part of a shipment of bills to a bank in new jersey; their box somehow got abstracted from the main shipment and somebody stuck them in his wallet"
GM says, "currently the bank in question is trying to track down the missing money, and has just about chalked it up to an accounting error"
Alexandra asks, "Can I track down who liberated the box, or determine if it's relevant to what happened with Davey?"
GM says, "not from here (you could head out to NJ and do some investigating there)"
Alexandra says, "ah"
Alexandra relates the history to Chaz
Chaz says, "Wow, interesting."
Alexandra says, "If things quiet down, I can perhaps nip off to New Jersey shortly and see about getting more specific information. but for now, that's all she wrote"
Chaz nods.
Chaz says, "Well, this'll be a good start."
Chaz says, "Might be worth alerting the feds, even."
Chaz exclaims, "Thanks!"
Alexandra says, "Good luck with it. And if Davey's anchor has any trouble getting the car fixed, with the insurance, let me know and I can pull strings."
Alexandra heads back to find Karin and pry her away from the books
Chaz grins.  "I'll tell him.  Thanks again!"
GM says, "ok, nice session -- next week we follow up with Jack and co"
