GM says, "so I believe when we last left off our heroes (and that will include Davey, but not Penny) they and Rike were exploring the other end of the tunnel they had discovered out from Chancel Olympus (Drake and Amanda and Rike's chancel)"

GM says, "they had discovered the underground room in which the soldiers who attacked Olympus awoke and trained, and, possibly more disturbingly, a small sprig of laurel, which turned out to be Drake's symbol"

Davey says, "(once more, sorry I flaked the other week. Got dates mixed up)"

GM says, "then the cottage at the other end (which turned out to be Greece) was resided in by Arthur, the missing servant"

GM says, "so last time we left off with everyone ransacking the cottage, as adventurers are wont to do"

Davey looks under the sink

GM says (to Davey), "good plumbing in this cottage"

GM says, "valves all tightened and everything"

GM says, "Rike pokes around also, opening up closets and peering inside warily and looking under the bed"

Davey scratches his head

GM says, "(Arthur hasn't arrived yet, but they said he was coming back this evening, so presumably soon)"

[Crows-Nest] Davey asks, "did we think this Arthur was a traitor?"

[Crows-Nest] Davey says, "our traitor was betrayed, after all"

GM says, "suddenly, there's a confused noise from out back, by the shed"

GM says, "Rike . o O ( Ouch! )"

Davey asks, "you all right?"

GM says, "(there's no response)"

Aisleen stolls over to the shed

Davey picks up a blunt implement and looks for Rike

GM says, "The back door's hanging open like somebody went out that way, yeah"

Aisleen approaches the door cautiously and sticks her head in to the back door

GM says, "And then -- my goodness"

andyf materializes.

GM says (to Aisleen), "looking outside, you see the shed door has actually been ripped off the shed"

andyf whispers, "recap 30"

GM says, "and the bushes nearby look crushed, like something heavy sat on them"

GM says, "but no Rike"

Davey says, "<giant?>"

Davey mutters "crap."

Aisleen examines the bushes

Aisleen says, "searches, even"

Davey asks, "<Aisleen, maybe you could fly up a bit and see if there's, uh, big footprinty trail?"

Aisleen asks (of wind), "also what just happened to this shed?"

[Crows-Nest] Davey says, "grr, I miss the think command"

GM says (to Aisleen), ""The dooor just bleeeew off! It jumped into the air and then fell down again onto the bushes!""

GM says (to Aisleen), "Let's see"

Davey closes his eyes and feels around for vehicles

GM asks, "there are a bunch of leaves and stuff in the bushes, but also -- hey, what's that?"

GM says, "You pull out Rike's glasses, one of the lenses smashed"

GM says (to Davey), "there is something nearby, now that you mention it"

Davey says, "damn, damn, damn."

GM says (to Davey), "it seems to be coming towards the cottage"

Davey says, "wait, I get something"

Davey says, "something's coming"

Davey grinds his teeth. "I hate woods."

Davey goes around to try to see it first

Aisleen flies up to see the area in greater detail

Aisleen shapes-shift to wind so that no one would be surprised to see a flying human, too

[Crows-Nest] Davey says, "wait, it's not woods, it's Greece. silly brain."

GM says (to Davey), "peeking out from behind the cottage, you see a car just pulling onto the cottage's long private driveway (it's one of those vacation cottages off the main road, so there's nothing really nearby except occasional other cottages, and they all have their own driveways)"

Davey feels the roads away from here for anything big and skulky

GM says (to Aisleen), "you see the car arriving -- other than that, it looks pretty quiet -- a few cottages down the line some people are having a barbeque"

Davey says, "<I think this would be Arthur>"

Davey says, "<one of us should keep looking for Rike>"

Davey sticks his head back in the shed, loking in mythic

GM says (to Davey), "well, there's the passageway down"

GM says, "(the tunnel that you came in through, I mean)"

GM says, "but aside from that, it still looks like an ordinary shed -- lawnmower, shears, that kind of thing"

Davey grinds his teeth again. "something blew outward. Somthing following us?"

Aisleen asks (of wind), "when the door flew out, did you feel anything travelling?"

Aisleen asks (of wind), "like someone or something?"

Aisleen flies closer to look at the indentations

GM says, "The wind swirls around in some confusion. "It felt like something else was there, but there was nothing to see!""

Davey feels the indentations. what the heck.

Aisleen asks (of wind), "which way did you feel it go?"

GM says, "in a few places it looks like the footprints are fairly deep-set, like somebody was carrying something heavy briefly or stomping"

GM says (to Aisleen), ""tooo the sheed, then away, then back again, I think -- it's so hard to tell with all the things to blow against""

GM says (to Davey), "meanwhile, you can tell the car has almost arrived at the cottage itself"

Davey says, "ungh"

Davey goes out to meet the car

GM says, "You recognize Arthur from the scrying pool -- he's just slightly elderly and a bit pudgy; more or less what you'd expect for an experienced house-servant type"

[Crows-Nest] Aisleen exclaims, "It's Alfred!"

GM says, ""Er, yes, can I help you?" he says, in slightly accented greek."

GM says, "Arthur parks his car and gets out."

Davey says, "Arthur, there's been some trouble with your shed. We need to talk about it."

Aisleen says, "<Hey, Henderson! Any word on whether the mage has seen my motorcycle delivered to Sunset Tavern yet?>"

Davey says, "I'm called Davey. I came here from Olympus."

Aisleen says, "<Davey, no need to say our real chancel names, right>"

GM says, "Arthur blinks in surprise. "But -- er --""

GM says, ""Did Drake--" he trails off."

Davey says, "<I don't think playing secretive will do us any good, but I won't blab anything unnecessary>"

Aisleen asks (of indentations), "hey, who made you?"

GM says (to Aisleen), "<Still no sign of them,> Henderson says. <But it's only been a day or so>"

Davey says, "Drake, I think, did. Come on, we need to work this out before anyone else gets hurt."

GM says, ""Something pushed us into the ground," they say. "But there was no sign of who it was -- we just appeared, one after the other""

GM says, "Arthur looks around, still a bit confused. "Um, but who are you? I've never heard you mentioned before?""

Aisleen asks (of footsprints), "do you now if it is a person or a thing?"

GM says, ""Well, we're footprints, aren't we?""

Aisleen asks (of wind), "oh, now i remember. did you hear anyone talking or scream?"

[Crows-Nest] Aisleen says (to GM), "I realized as soon as i typed it that it was a stoopid question"

[Crows-Nest] Aisleen says, "no need for them to get fresh :)"

GM says, ""I mean, er, we're shaped like a footmark, but it could have been a small object of some kind""

[Crows-Nest] GM says, "but they're freshly made!"

[Crows-Nest] Aisleen says, "hee hee"

Davey says, "No, I wouldn't have been. I'm not important right now. I'm just a guy who's seen two chancels get attacked in the last couple weeks and I want it stopped."

GM says, ""Nooo," says the wind, "It was very quiet, except for the door ripping and the bushes crashing. But no voices""

GM says, ""...Oh.""

Aisleen says, "<Davey make him get scared!>"

GM says, ""Well, um, would you like some tea?""

Davey says, "I got no ill will for you, but I don't see anyone else to talk to here and I'm runnin' out of patience"

Aisleen says, "<quite British>"

Davey says, "tea. Would be nice."

Aisleen says (to wind), "what do you know about that guy by the car? The old looking one"

Aisleen says, "<Davey Raul would be handy to find a path>"

GM says, ""He's around here all the time," the wind says, as Arthur and Davey go inside the cottage. "I think he owns the place -- he seems to like gardening""

Davey says, "<he sure would. Hell, I'm thinking i might need to try, but I'll ruin the nice landscaping.>"

GM says, "Arthur putters around in the kitchen putting on a kettle."

Aisleen says, "<Davey, if Arthur doesn't get us anywhere, we will send him as a prisoner to the chancel and give you the chance>"

GM says, ""Things have all been so very strange lately," he says"

Davey asks, "so. I don't suppose you've been here for the last couple days?"

Aisleen says, "<Amanda, we have a problem.>"

GM says, ""I've been here for, um, about two months""

Davey says, "but what don't you tell me what you mean by strange."

GM says, "<Really? Rike said you were going to investigate that tunnel -- did something happen?>"

Aisleen says, "<Davey, do you want me to continue eavesdropping while I look around here, or do you want me to materialize in the house and join you?>"

Aisleen says, "<Amanda, um. we lost Rike>"

Davey says, "<come in here, we'll play pissed and friendly.>"

Aisleen says, "<He sorta disappeared>"

Aisleen alights to the ground and resumes normal form

Aisleen walks in to the house casually and sits down at one of the other chairs

Davey says, "<I don't suppose you have the power to make men speak the truth?>"

Davey says, "<I mostly just have the power to make dogs bark at me>"

Aisleen says, "I am Aisleen. I am with him."

GM says, "Arthur gestures vaguely. "Oh, just all this mess at Olympus -- I don't know why Drake sent me off here""

GM says, ""Oh. Er, hello Aisleen.""

Davey asks, "did he ask you to help with the Games, or were you just supposed to mind this cottage?"

GM says, "<He disappeared? Oh, Rike is always wandering off,> Amanda says. <I'm sure he'll be fine.>"

Davey says, "<there was a certain 'Ouch' vibe to it, Amanda. Just keep your eye on that tunnel entrance.>"

GM says, "<I was, um, taking an extended vacation,> he said. <He said that he would come in person to let me know when to come back, so I was surprised when you folks showed up here>"

Aisleen says, "<Amanda, double the guard at the tnnel>"

GM says, "(er, sorry, that wasn't supposed to be in <>s)"

Aisleen says, "<Davey, am i friendly or bitchy?>"

GM says, ""But if it's time for me to resume my duties at the chancel?" Arthur says hopefully"

Davey says, "<bitchy, I guess. I can never look as mean as i want.>"

Davey sighs.

Davey says, "Arthur, things are stranger than you know."

Aisleen says (to Arthur), "Well, I want to know you mean by vacation. I heard you were fired"

Davey asks, "have you seen Drake recently?"

[Crows-Nest] Aisleen wonders if she *can* be bitchy

GM says, "Arthur looks offended. "Fired? Surely not. Just, um, he said I should stay here for a while.""

GM says, ""I haven"

GM says, "er"

Davey says, "<screw it, let's both be friendly for now. I think he's another pawn>"

GM says, ""I haven't seen him since he left me here -- he said he would check in occasionally but I suppose he's busy again -- Drake always has projects going on.""

Davey says, "right. that's what we're concerned about"

Davey asks, "you know there's a tunnel in your shed, right?"

GM says, ""A tunnel? To where?""

Davey says, "leads right to Olympus. A little back door, as it were"

Davey says, "<if this guy's playin me i'm draggin him behing the Shovelhead>"

GM says, ""Oh. Hunh. Well, that explains how I got here, I guess -- Drake always blindfolds us.""

Aisleen says (to Arthur), "sorry. I am a little cranky. I apologize"

Davey asks, "ah. Who else is in 'us'?"

GM says, "Arthur looks out towards where the shed would be. "So I've been that close all along?""

Aisleen asks (of Arthur), "and always? Where else has he taken you?"

GM says, ""Any of the servants, I mean, when he sends us on our annual vacations""

Davey asks, "apparently. So you've been here two months but no one's been around messing with that shed?"

GM says, ""Normally we go to greece, although naturally when the games are on we --""

GM says, ""The shed? Hrm, not that I've seen, but sometimes I go into town for a movie.""

GM says, ""And, er, I always sleep pretty soundly, so I suppose somebody could have been out there by night. But I haven't seen anyone there, and I go in for my gardening at least once a day, usually.""

Davey says, "<dammit! I'm no interrogator. How long were those guys training in that bunker?>"

Davey says, "see, this isn't the only place that tunnel led to."

[Crows-Nest] GM says, "(I believe they said a few weeks)"

GM says, ""It's not?""

Aisleen asks (of Arthur), "Have you ever seen anything unusual in that shed? tools moved around, new tools you haven't noticed before...?"

Davey says, "there was an invasion of Olympus."

GM says, ""A whuh-whuh-what?""

Davey says, "a freakishly well-defended chancel"

Aisleen says (to Arthur), "they almost succeeded"

GM says, ""You're kidding! Drake would never allow that!""

Davey says, "and we found evidence that the tunnel was used to get in"

Davey says, "if he's Drake."

Aisleen asks (of Arthur), "who else would know about the tunnel, then?"

GM says, ""What do you mean? I -- he --""

Davey says, "no one thinks that's possible. But his laurel was down there."

Davey says, "There are creatures that can mimic a Power."

GM says, ""Oh dear .. oh dear oh dear ..""

Davey asks, "so, you see why we were hoping you'd seen Drake yourself?"

GM says, ""But are you sure it was Drake? I am sure Lord Rike and Lady Amanda knew about the tunnels as well -- not that I would rather -- oh dear""

Aisleen says (to Arthur), "We know Drake and you had a heated discussion prior to your coming here...can you tell us what it was about? It might help."

GM says, "He shakes his head"

GM says, ""Oh. Um.""

Davey says, "we're not sure about nothing, Arthur."

GM says, ""That was a bit strange""

[Crows-Nest] Aisleen says, "I hope our clowns are half as loyal as Arthur is to Drake"

[Crows-Nest] Aisleen says, "that they can't be bribed by offers of larger noses"

[Crows-Nest] GM says, "hee hee"

GM says, ""He had brought me in to complain about the handling of some supplies -- I'm, er, in charge of arranging and categorizing most of Drake's purchases for the chancel in addition to my other duties.""

Davey says, "<damn, damn, damn. we need to settle this guy down so you can watch him dream, darlin'. Maybe the Silver and the Bright have been at him, or maybe he's exactly the way he seems. But it doesn't make sense to me to park him out here. Is he being framed?>"

[Crows-Nest] Davey says, "everyone loves Drake"

GM says, ""The discussion was quite heated -- he was suddenly getting extremely picky, much more so than usual, about certain supplies, and then abruptly he stopped.""

Aisleen says, "<Davey, i think he is somehow involved, but he isn't aware of it.>"

Davey says, "<exactly>"

Aisleen asks (of Arthur), "what supplies were they?"

GM says, ""He said he had some things to think about, and in the meantime I was going to go on vacation.""

GM says, ""Erm, let me see --""

Davey says, "<I think we should take him back to Ferarium>"

Davey says, "<let the mages at him a little, and see if anything follows him>"

GM says, ""I believe there was some truesilver, and iron needles, and some various bits of incense and constructed candles, and maybe a few other things""

GM says, ""Normally he doesn't worry about that stuff much, so I've gotten a bit lax about letting the mages take what they need""

Davey asks, "hmm. Drake go in for the ritual magic a lot, then?"

GM says, ""Well, he does some research himself, of course, but generally he doesn't -- although I seem to recall six months ago or so he had some large project he was working on, that he kept calling the mages in to consult about""

Aisleen asks (of Arthur), "what else can you recall about this project? or do you know the mages he consulted?"

GM says, ""We don't have that many mages at the chancel -- only about a half-dozen or so to do research and some basic spells. Normally Drake talks to other chancels if he needs spellcasting done.""

Davey says, "<could he have been on the trail of the Lost Chancel too?>"

Davey asks, "do you know much about any other chancels?"

GM says, ""But I believe he talked to all six of them over the course of his research""

Aisleen says, "<Davey, I agree on taking hm back. Maybe he can work with Henderson and the other mages to try to figure out what the other research was about>"

Davey nods.

GM says, ""Other chancels? Well, I've been around a bit, yes. Sometimes Drake's taken me to head up his retinue when he travels with full company to other chancels""

Davey asks, "I don't suppose you went along to a duel he officiated? Cecily vs. some newcomer?"

GM says, ""Oh, no, although of course I heard about it""

GM says, "He chuckles slightly to himself. "Cecily's going to bite off more than she can chew one of these days," he used to say."

Davey says, "mm. see, that event went pretty freak-shaped, and that's the last we saw of Drake."

GM says, ""But then of course there was that invasion, and then he came back all upset about the supplies later and found me""

Aisleen says (to Arthur), "he saw someone/something there that he didn't expect to see. Did he mention it to you? (the duel)"

GM says, ""Oh, well, sort of - I heard the gossip about it later, of course""

GM says, ""Someone he didn't expect? Oh, you mean Jack?""

Aisleen says, "<Penny, hey, what ever happened with Jack? You guys talked to him didn't you?>"

Penny says, "<oh, er, hello. Yes, some of the folks at our chancel caught up with him, I think. I wasn't among those folks>"

Davey says, "listen, this is big stuff. Something very dark has taken an interest in your chancel. We've seen it enslave others. We'd like you to come with us, where we can protect you and see if these powers have been interfering in your life."

Aisleen says, "<Davey, are we going to split up? One of us stay and explore this area? or go all of us back to chancel?>"

Aisleen says, "<Rike, Oh RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKE>"

GM says, ""Er -- well, if you really think it's best.""

GM asks, ""Um, but how will Drake find me if he comes back to tell me I can go back? Should I leave a note?"

GM says, "(still no answer from Rike)"

Davey says, "<I relly think you should try to dreamwalk this guy when the time comes. I can explore a bit here, though my power set isn't really cut out for it"

Aisleen says, "leave a note saying you have gone back home. I don't want random people walking in and seeing the note and finding you"

Aisleen says, "We will let Amanda know you are with us"

Davey claps Arthur on the shoulder. "Good. We'll figure this out and get you back at work as fast as we can."

GM says, ""Er, -- ok, I'm sure that will be fine.""

Aisleen says, "<Davey, I will dreamwalk him as soon as we get to the chancel>"

GM says, "He sighs, and writes out a quick note, carefully signing it 'Arthur Pendlebee'"

Aisleen asks (of Arthur), "ready?"

GM says, "He leaves it on the dining room table, weighed down by a fork so it won't blow away"

GM says, ""I guess so --""

Davey says, "<great. Don't push him too hard -- if the Xes have been at him I worry about killing him>"

Aisleen walks outside towards the shed

Aisleen says (to Arthur), "nice landscaping by the way"

GM says, ""Thanks, although Drake did a lot of it himself at the start,""

Davey says, "I can make the car find the way, if that works for everyone."

GM says, ""But it's me who'se been pulling these weeds the last couple days""

GM says, ""Er, thanks, but I don't want this cotton candy -- I don't suppose you have some tea?" he asks"

Aisleen says (to Arthur), "sure thing. hang on"

Penny says (to Arthur), "I managed to convince them to make me some when I got here, so I would assume so"

Davey says, "we should have a classy section. Like the fake town at Disneyworld"

Aisleen says, "<A mage...can we get some sleeping potion mixed in to a cup of team for this gentelman here?>"

Aisleen says, "<er tea>"

Penny says (to Davey), "you have some of the monks from Octavo here. *that's* classy."

GM says, "<One house special coming up, m'lady>"

GM says, "A mage comes over. "The gentleman's tea." Arthur takes the cup and drinks gratefully, apparently having his nerves steadied"

GM says, "or possibly a bit more than steadied, as he shortly thereafter begins to sway and then slumps towards the ground"

Penny says, "<I assume you don't want to discuss what might have happened to Rike while this guy's still awake, then?>"

Penny says, "<ah, there we go>"

Aisleen gently lays Arthur on a comfortable bench

Davey says, "I don't know who's listening through those ears."

Penny says, "effective soporific, that tea"

Aisleen smiles

Aisleen says, "Okay, I am going to dreamwalk. Davey, prompt me when you want to know something"

Penny asks, "he's an anchor? of Drake's?"

Aisleen closes her eyes and tries to find Arthur's dream

Davey says, "I'm feeling kinda out of my depth here, so if you'll ecuse me i'm going to start drinking beer"

Davey says (to Penny), "nah, just a servant at his chancel. But Drake sent him to 'vacation' at this cottage"

Penny says, "aha. I see"

Davey says, "and this same cottage had a tunnel to Olympus. convenient."

GM says, "Arthur's mind is packed full of stuff -- you have to wade through various memories of tables to be set and silver to be polished before you get to anything recent"

Davey says, "oh, plus someone snatched Rike right out of our search party"

Aisleen takes notes on where each fork belongs in a setting

Davey says, "<Silver? Bright One?>"

Penny says, "hmm"

GM says, "currently he is dreaming about being curled up inside a giant teacup floating on the clouds, while Drake stands above shouting "ARTHUR, YOU ARE NEGLECTING YOUR DUTIES""

Penny asks, "is Drake the one likely to be behind all the problem's, then?"

Penny says, "er, problems"

Penny says, "I must say, I'd heard he was fairly respectable."

Davey says, "Everyone acts like you buggered the Pope when you suggest it, so i dunno."

Aisleen asks (of arthur), "what are your duties?"

GM says, "Arthur opens an eye nervously and looks up at Drake. "Er -- I didn't know, sir -- you said to stay here!""

Davey asks, "I'm starting to think it's a, um, Deceiver?"

Penny says, "yes, that sounds plausible"

GM says, ""Polish the silver, make sure the floors are swept, see that supplies are bought and organized""

GM says, ""WHERE ARE THE MISSING SUPPLIES?" Drake says"

Penny says, "In which case, the real drake is either dead or incapacitated, I assume"

Davey says, "like, Drake disappeared after the duel and the thing with Jack, then there was the battle here, and now I just dunno..."

Aisleen says, "<Davey, Arthur seems really worked up about the missing supplies>"

Penny says, "it seems likely that that was the moment he was incapacitated"

GM says, ""I told, sir, I don't know!" Arthur says. "I cataloged everything like you said, and some things were just missing -- I thought maybe you'd been working on your experiments again""

Chaz exclaims, "Oooh, paintguns!"

Aisleen says (to chaz), "we have more in the shooting gallery booth over there. help yourself"

Chaz grabs some of those, too.

Alison asks, "Isn't anyone bringing pies?"

Chaz exclaims, "All right! Lets go!"

Aisleen says (to alison), "nah. i would just eat my arsenal"

Aisleen asks (of Davey), "vroom?"

Davey says, "vroom it is"

Alison says, "Vroom vreem."

Davey morphs up into something Continental

Alison says, "Er, vroom, I mean."

Chaz hops on his skateboard and hangs onto Davey's bumper.

[Crows-Nest] Aisleen says, "wow, for once alison doesn't ask to drive"

[Crows-Nest] Aisleen asks (of alison), "you feeling okay, kid?"

Alison gets in the backseat this time.

[Crows-Nest] Davey says, "I started carrying a Playstation"

[Crows-Nest] Alison says (to Aisleen), "Yeah, just got my hands full."

[Crows-Nest] Alison says, "With the torch, and all."

[Crows-Nest] Aisleen says, "hee hee"

Alison exclaims (at Thenton), "C'mon with us!"

GM says, "You guys hop into (or onto) Davey, out onto the road, and eventually pull up at Arthur's cottage"

GM says, ""Uh .. ok, if you say so," Thenton says, climbing nervously into Davey"

Aisleen looks over at the bushes where the indentations were to see if anything had changed

Alison asks, "Can we drive down the shed?"

GM says (to Aisleen), "no, but -- hrm, there's another sprig of laurel there, down in the bushes"

Aisleen says, "that laurel wasn't there before"

Chaz asks (of laurel), "Hey, where'd you come from?"

Aisleen asks, "what does this mean, a note that 'Drake was here'?"

[Crows-Nest] Aisleen says, "or does the flower show up automatically once someone passes through"

[Crows-Nest] Davey asks, "yeah, did it grow there?"

Alison says (to Aisleen), "Or that the Not Drake was here."

Aisleen checks to see that the note Arthur left for Drake was still there

GM says, ""Er, I'm not sure," the laurel says. "I just got carried along and then dropped here.""

Alison asks (of Laurel), "Did they do magic with you?"

Aisleen asks (of wind), "anyone here recently?"

Chaz asks (of laurel), "What kind of hand carried you?"

GM says (to Aisleen), "nope"

GM says, ""I don't think I was used in magic -- I didn't see the hand, I just felt myself lifted and then dropped""

[nobilis] Aisleen asks, "how long has it been since we left? a few hours?"

[nobilis] GM says, "that sounds right"

[nobilis] Aisleen says, "the wind hasn't seen anyone."

[nobilis] GM says, "no"

Aisleen says, "<can there be a race? a group of nobilis, excrucians, whatever, that are invisible by nature?>"

Alison says, "Maybe she can be friends with the other laurel from before."

Alison asks (of Aisleen), "Like air spirits are?"

Aisleen says (to alison), "something like that"

Chaz asks (of laurel), "Did whatever carried you say anything?"

Aisleen says (to alison), "Chancel Octavo came across someone who walked really heavily, but was invisible, and the footprints over here were made by someone with a heavy step, but the wind didn't see them either"

Alison asks (of Aisleen), "Heavy like a statue maybe?"

Chaz sniffs the laurel to see if he can detect the scent of who carried it.

[nobilis] Aisleen asks, "is the note still there?"

[nobilis] Alison says, "We need to stock Scooby Snax."

GM says (to Chaz), "hrm, no scent on it, beyond its own -- up close you can see a few little cloth fibers"

[nobilis] GM says (to Aisleen), "no, it's not"

Aisleen says, "Okay, someone definitely has been here"

[nobilis] Davey says, "I was just thinking we could use a dog"

Chaz extracts a fiber.

[nobilis] Davey says, "only it would hate me"

Chaz asks (of fiber), "Hey, where'd you come from?"

Aisleen says, "Regardless of what the wind says, since Arthur's note to Drake is gone"

[nobilis] Alison says, "I don't think Mr. Toes would like a dog."

Aisleen enters the house and goes to the kitchen

Aisleen asks (of fork), "where did the note go?"

[nobilis] Alison says, "(What is this note?)"

GM says, ""I was pushed out of the way and then it lifted up and disappeared!" the fork says"

[nobilis] Aisleen says, "Arthur left a note for Drake when we took him to Fer. saying "I am going home" we didn't let Arthur specify where"

[nobilis] Alison asks, "Do we know where Arthur's home would be?"

Aisleen says, "i think we better get to olympus"

GM says, ""I came from a bigger cloth," the fiber says. "With thousands of my siblings""

[nobilis] Aisleen says, "Olympus"

Chaz asks (of fiber), "Neat! What kind of cloth were you?"

Aisleen comes out of the house.

[nobilis] Chaz says, "(afk)"

Aisleen says, "I have a bad feeling about something happening at olympus. let's go"

GM says, ""A shirt, perhaps -- we held together to form a shape""

Alison tires of this, and drags someone (possibly Thenton) down the tunnel.

Aisleen follows Alison quickly

GM says, "into the tunnel, then"

Alison calls (down the tunnel), "Halloooo! Echooo!"

Aisleen keeps eyes open for any more sprigs of laurel

GM says, "The tunnel seems more or less as left -- you step out onto the podium and through the warehouse area and then the long tunnel"

GM says, "and, so far as can be seen, no markings"

Aisleen asks (of wind), "anyone been here recently?"

Alison asks (of Sparky), "Do you want to keep coming with us to have fun and explore and light up other dark places, or do you want to go back to where you were before we got here on the wall?"

GM says, ""Not that I saw," the wind says, "But I am weak here and so when I feel slight breezes like someone moving, I notice but cannot really tell""

GM says, ""This has been a fun vacation," the torch says, "But I think if you don't put me back I might not get to go home when my tour of duty is up""

[nobilis] Aisleen asks, "who is sparky?"

Alison asks (of Sparky), "Oh. OK. That'd be bad, right?"

Alison puts Sparky back in his holder.

[nobilis] Alison says, "One of the torches that lined the tunnel."

[nobilis] Aisleen says, "oh right"

[nobilis] Alison says, "Nice fellow. Likes reading the paper."

GM says, ""Thank you! Do stop by and visit again if you're ever in the area!""

[nobilis] Kiz says, "my mouse is also named sparky"

Alison exclaims (at Sparky), "OK! Bye bye!"

[nobilis] Aisleen says (to kiz), "i thought your barnard laptop was sparky"

Alison heads for the tunnel exit.

[nobilis] Kiz says, "no, that was, um, fluffnut. I think."

[nobilis] Alison says, "Hee."

GM says, "And out to the exit -- where the soldiers are not surprised to see you, as they're not here"

Aisleen says, "whoa"

Aisleen says, "<Amanda? everything all right?>"

Aisleen says, "<Davey, Chaz, the Spartans are gone!>"

[nobilis] Aisleen asks, "does the place still look the same?"

Davey says, "<aargh, what is WITH these people?>"

GM says, "<Things are fine here, although I've had to call the soldiers back,> Amanda says. <If you're going to be visiting in the future, please announce yourself to me beforehand.>"

[nobilis] Chaz says, "(back)"

[nobilis] GM says (to Aisleen), "yeah, basically"

Aisleen starts thinking uncomplementary things about Amanda, looks at Alison, and stops, in case the girl has learned to read thoughts

[nobilis] GM says, "subject to the aforementioned slow cloud erosion by the winds"

Davey says, "<Sorry about that.>"

[nobilis] Chaz asks, "I take it nothing looked different in the staging area?"

[nobilis] GM says, "right"

Alison wonders why Aisleen just looked at her funny.

Davey says, "(not to Amanda) <just what with the mysterious treasons...>"

Aisleen asks, "Now what?"

Alison asks, "We go down the other tunnel?"

Aisleen asks, "Go to the new tunnel and ignore Amanda?"

Chaz flies up into the air to look at the gates, to make sure the giant still is there and is bored. As opposed to, say, swatting at more airplanes.

Aisleen asks (of wind), "anything unusual happening here?"

GM says, ""Just all the soldiers going back inside," says the wind. "I think I saw some other soldiers elsewhere going inside too""

GM says, "(The giant is standing there alertly, but not swatting)"

Chaz asks, "elsewhere?"

Aisleen says, "Amanda recalled all the soldiers from their posts"

Alison starts diggin at the tunnel place with her hands.

Aisleen says, "that sounds bad security"

Davey asks, "we moving earth?"

GM says, "(well, clouds)"

Alison says, "Maybe she wants to teach them how to fight better."

Chaz also heads to tunnel II.

Davey says, "grah! stand back fleshy people"

Alison says, "Or stand straighter. Or shout louder."

Aisleen says, "hee hee"

Davey backhoe!

Alison says, "Or maybe she just has new armor polish."

Alison exclaims, "Eep!"

Aisleen asks (of Alison), "make them watch Octopus?"

Alison falls back, then scampers out of the way of Davey.

[nobilis] GM says, "I am totally laughing here"

[nobilis] TableSaw asks, "Where are y'all, anyway?"

GM says, "Davey turns into a backhoe, sinking slightly into the clouds as he does so"

GM says, "Then he goes and gouges out several large chunks of the cloud-bank until the tunnel entrance is gaping"

Alison asks (of Aisleen), "Octopus? Is that like 20,000 Legs Under the Sea?"

[nobilis] Aisleen says, "#918"

[nobilis] GM says (to Alison), "yay"

TableSaw materializes.

Aisleen says (to Alison), "that kid show. i was blanking"

Alison says, "Oh! Yeah. Eggbert."

[nobilis] TableSaw says, "I'm going to bed in about two minutes, but I thought I should wave."

Aisleen says (to Alison), "you first"

Alison says, "I think they're too old for Eggbert."

[nobilis] TableSaw waves.

GM says, "The tunnel slopes in and gently downward"

Alison exclaims, "'Cuz I'm too old for Eggbert, and they're older than me!"

[nobilis] GM says, "howdy"

Chaz does a divination of whimsy to see if he can tell if the soldiers were recalled by a whim, vs. a more serious purpose.

[nobilis] Alison says (to Saw), "Yay."

[nobilis] Alison waves to Saw.

GM says (to Chaz), "definitely by orders, although they seem to have been somewhat sudden orders, not as the final step in a plan"

[nobilis] Aisleen asks, "light in tunnel?"

GM says, "It's lit by the clouds for the first part and then drifts into darkness and you can't see exactly where it leads"

[nobilis] Aisleen says, "tmg"

Aisleen asks (of alison), "can we borrow sparky for this tunnel?"

Alison points, "He's back in his spot in the other tunnel."

Alison says, "You can ask him if he wants to come if you want."

Chaz goes on down the tunnel anyway, his eyes instantly adjusting to the dim light.

Aisleen goes back to old tunnel, asks Sparky, "Can we borrow you for the other tunnel? We will be sure to bring you back before your TOD ends."

Chaz, as has become his wont, sniffs.

GM says, ""Sure, what the heck," Sparky says, folding up his paper and looking around alertly again"

GM says (to Chaz), "no scent of someone having used it recently -- probably not for a few weeks"

Aisleen takes torch and returns to the other tunnel, and starts down

Alison follows Chaz, but doesn't bother to stop when he stops to sniff.

[nobilis] Chaz asks, "How recently was the attack?"

GM says, "with the light of the torch you can see that the walls are a dull grey and they're all sort of, um, pseudo-stone -- maybe slightly harder greyish cloud-substance"

[nobilis] Chaz asks, "In relation to 'a few weeks'?"

[nobilis] Aisleen says, "one week, i thought"

Davey goes man-shaped again to explore

[nobilis] Aisleen asks, "or few days?"

[nobilis] GM asks, "which attack?"

[nobilis] Chaz says, "On Olympus."

[nobilis] GM says, "about a week, yeah"

[nobilis] Chaz asks, "So this one hasn't been used since the attack?"

[nobilis] GM says, "that is what it seems like"

[nobilis] Chaz nods.

[nobilis] GM says, "although I suppose there could be scentless things"

[nobilis] Aisleen asks, "wasn't this created after the attack? or am i misremembering?"

[nobilis] Chaz says, "Like, say, whatever carried the laurel ;-)"

[nobilis] GM says (to Aisleen), "let me double-check"

Alison goes on ahead in the dark for a bit.

Alison says, "Oooh. It's dark down here."

[nobilis] Chaz says, "The chronology of the tunnel creation was a bit confusing, IIRC. Where 'C'=='Confusedly', of course."

Chaz continues down the tunnel, on high sense alert, checking for secret exits, dropped items, etc.

Alison says, "I wish I brought Mr. Toes."

Alison keeps going anyway, though.

GM says, "onwards into the tunnel, then, which gradually curves and continues deeper"

GM says, "and then, up ahead, there's a light"

[nobilis] Chaz asks (of GM), "Did your checking confirm?"

Alison exclaims, "Hey, the dark stops up there!"

Alison skips toward it.

Chaz says (to alison), "<Shh. There could be bad guys--let's surprise 'em!>"

[nobilis] GM | GM says, ""Er .. I don't think it was post-invasion, but it feels like it's only a little newer than the time the other was collapsed.""

[nobilis] GM says, "is what Rike said about this one"

[nobilis] Chaz asks, "Wait, wasn't the other tunnel collapsed during the invasion?"

GM says (to Alison), "up ahead there's a pedestal with a crystal half-sphere sitting on it"

Chaz exclaims, "Hey, it's the other half!"

Aisleen says, "whoa. cool"

Alison says, "Oooh."

[Crows-Nest] Chaz says, "Also, this reminds me of the crystal bowl on the pedestal ;-)"

Aisleen asks, "where exactly are we now? we are probably away from olympus, aren't we?"

Alison picks it up and looks into it.

[nobilis] GM says, "what seems like happened was <greek tunnel created> <greek tunnel collapsed> <new tunnel created> <invasion>"

[nobilis] Chaz asks, "Didn't the invasion go through the collapsed tunnel?"

GM says, "when Alison picks it up there's a sudden explosion"

[nobilis] Chaz asks, "Or was it a 1-way collapsing?"

[nobilis] Aisleen asks, "refresh my memory, this crystal would help fix anse, right?"

[Crows-Nest] Davey says, "okay, there's the half-sphere doom thingy..."

[nobilis] Alison says (to Chaz), "Or maybe the bad guys assembled outside the tunnel before assaulting the walls."

Aisleen ducks out of the doorway

GM says, "and the ceiling falls in"

[Crows-Nest] Davey asks, "and there was a crystal thing in Astara, right?"

Alison gasps!

[nobilis] Chaz says, "There was a half a sphere we found in the desk of the Excrucian in the tower."

GM says, "this is where nobilis reflexes should try and kick in"

Davey exclaims, "yaah!"

Alison turns to cloud.

Chaz's reflexes kick in and he dives to protect alison.

[nobilis] Aisleen says, "thanks for the hint. :)"

Aisleen shapeshifts to wind, and grabs Davey, turn in to something small, dammit

(From Chaz) ...right through a cloud of alison and dust.

Davey just hopes the Durant thing will be enough

Davey shrinks and turns orange

[Crows-Nest] GM says, "yes"

GM says, "Alison goes poof as Chaz dives at her"

GM says, "Aisleen swoops in and picks up Davey who gets tumbled towards the exit in cone-form, I guess"

GM says, "the good news is that everyone is ok, but the bad news is that there's rather a lot of rubble on top of you"

Chaz exclaims, "Graah!"

GM says, "Davey the least, since he was I guess going for the exit"

Davey says, "oof"

[nobilis] Alison says, "Hmm. I never did figure out what exactly happens to my inventory when I go to cloud form."

Chaz stands up, punching through rubble.

Chaz asks, "Everyone OK?"

[nobilis] Aisleen asks, "if i seep through the rubble up, can i materialize and remove the rubble to dig davey out?"

Davey says, "if the tunnel's stable enough, I'll morph up again to clear it"

[nobilis] TableSaw wavers.

Alison drifts up to the (new) tunnel ceiling.

[aboveground] Gunther has joined the channel.

[nobilis] Aisleen asks, "is this another Tyoka's offweek?"

GM says, "Chaz pulls his way up a bit after Alison and Aisleen drift up"

GM says, "and then Davey starts working his way up"

Aisleen materializes to self

Aisleen says (to Davey), "I tried getting you out of the way, but the ceiling ... <wave hands helplessly>"

[aboveground] Matthew has joined the channel.

GM says (to Chaz), "meanwhile, speaking of smell, the air is smelling a bit funny"

[Crows-Nest] Chaz asks, "What's the 'make new character' command?"

[Crows-Nest] GM says, "@pcreate"

Alison exclaims, "Someone get Thenton and Sparky out of there!"

Chaz tries to identify it.

GM asks, "gas, maybe? something heavier-than-air?"

Aisleen asks, "what happened to the crystal?"

Chaz says, "Hey, something smells in here."

GM says, "buried, along with Thenton and Sparky"

Davey says, "thanks"

Aisleen starts moving rubble slowly to try to get to Thenton

[Crows-Nest] Chaz asks, "Wait, the crystal wasn't with Alison?"

Alison solidifies, then starts trying to dig out that non-nobilis.

[Crows-Nest] GM says, "I think she determined that her possessions stayed under the rubble"

Aisleen says (to Davey), "the tunnel seems stable enough if you can try to clear off the rubbles"

[Crows-Nest] GM says, "unless it was just that she dropped sparky"

[Crows-Nest] Alison says, "Aisleen had Sparky."

[Crows-Nest] Aisleen says, "i was carrying sparky, and yes i dropped him"

GM says, "People who need to breath are finding themselves a bit dizzy and short of breath"

[Crows-Nest] GM says, "ah, whoops"

GM says, "er ^e"

Chaz, who landed where Alison disappeared, looks for stuff she dropped, especially the crystal.

[Crows-Nest] Alison says, "(But I can believe it if the GM wants to say I dropped it in the explosion.)"

Chaz stops breathing.

GM says, "but Davey, luckily, is more or less out"

[Crows-Nest] GM says, "no, it's fine by me"

[nobilis] Chaz asks, "So she does have it?"

Alison gives the crystal to Chaz, and keeps trying to dig.

[nobilis] GM says, "no, you do"

[nobilis] Alison says, "Hee."

Davey gets to fresh air

[nobilis] Alison asks, "How does Holy Fire affect poison gas?"

Chaz tries to follow the source of the wacky air.

Davey says, "<you want me to change again, or will i risk crushing people?>"

Aisleen says (to davey), "change away"

Davey brum

Davey digs, carefully

Alison says, "Be careful."

[nobilis] Alison asks, "Was it the crystal that was casting light?"

[nobilis] GM says, "it appears spirit 2 people are protected from poison gas by the rite"

[nobilis] Aisleen says, "i think i will stay wind for now, then"

Aisleen shapeshifts back to wind

GM says, "Davey fights his way out and eventually uncovers sparky and thenton's body"

[nobilis] Matthew has joined the channel.

Aisleen asks, "body?"

Davey says, "oh, dear"

Aisleen asks, "is he ... dead?"

Alison asks, "Thenton! Are you OK?"

Aisleen scoops sparky up. I promised to return you

GM says (to Aisleen), "it looks like it -- he's bruised and bloody and isn't responding, anyway"

Alison puts her ear to his chest.

Aisleen says, "move aside"

Chaz keeps trying to find the source of the gas.

Alison gives Aisleen space.

Aisleen shapeshifts back to human, again, and places her hand on his chest

GM says (to Chaz), "it's drifting down from above -- looking up, you see valves on the ceiling releasing it"

GM says (to Aisleen), "it's hard to breath with the gas still in here"

Aisleen says, "let's see if i can heal his wounds near the heart...and then move on to the head"

Aisleen says, "dammit*holding breath*"

Chaz leaps up at the ceiling and tries to turn off the valves.

Aisleen asks, "can we move out of here?"

Alison sits in the corner, arms around knees, starting to cry quietly.

GM says (to Aisleen), "ignoring that for the moment, though, you start doing what you can -- you start knitting back ripped veins and forcing out shards of stone"

GM says (to Chaz), "they don't exactly close, but it looks like you can smash them shut"

Aisleen says, "<Alison, come on, girl. You have done great so far. Hang in there.""

GM says, "bend the metal directly"

Chaz, barring that, stops up the valves with smashed rock and otherwise smashes them shut.

Davey holds his breath and tries to help with closing that off

Chaz asks (of valves), "Hey, who installed you?"

Aisleen says, "<Alison, help me here. Hold Thenton's hand and tell me if his pulse is okay>"

Alison. o O (to Aisleen), "He's gotta be OK. It's my fault he's here. It's my fault."

GM says (to Aisleen), "I don't know if you want to risk moving him or not -- the gas probably isn't doing him much good either"

Alison does her best to follow Aisleen's orders.

GM says, "it feels like you're helping a bit, though"

Aisleen says, "<Alison, not your fault. Come on, you are fine. And I am working on fixing him. come. you can help me. you are doing just fine.>"

Chaz says, "<Yeah, kid, don't worry--he'll be fine.>"

GM says (to Alison), "there is a very weak flutter of a pulse"

Alison says, "I.. I think I feel something." Sniff.

Chaz troops back to Thenton and very carefully picks him up.

Chaz says, "Let's get him out of here."

Alison nods.

Aisleen says, "<Chaz I don't like moving him, but we don't have a choice>"

Aisleen can't talk because she is holding her breath

Aisleen says, "(getting painful tho)"

Chaz says, "<Don't worry, I'm pretty agile.>"

Alison says, "Maybe the m-mages can help him."

[Crows-Nest] Aisleen says, "I KNEW i should have boosted my aspect"

[Crows-Nest] Chaz asks, "Oh, what did you end up doing?"

[Crows-Nest] Aisleen says, "just got shapeshifting and hoarded the remaining 2 for lack of idea :)"

GM says, "Chaz picks up Thenton and you file out quietly"

[Crows-Nest] Alison asks, "At character creation, or did you have extra CP?"

[nobilis] Aisleen says, "how is alison holding up? She has 0 Aspect"

[Crows-Nest] Aisleen says, "extra CP"

[nobilis] Alison says (to Aisleen), "She's protected by the rite of holy fire."

[nobilis] Chaz says, "She has Rite of Holy Fire, though."

[nobilis] Aisleen says, "ah ok"

[Crows-Nest] Chaz asks, "Did you go for elemental?"

[Crows-Nest] Aisleen says (to chaz), "no. pure shapeshifting. so i can be stuff other than wind"

[Crows-Nest] Chaz nods.

[Crows-Nest] Aisleen says, "though i seem to use it just for wind lately"

[Crows-Nest] Chaz says, "Heh."

Aisleen changes back to wind and follows Chaz and Alison

GM asks, "what outside?"

GM asks, "er, I mean, what next, outside?"

Chaz sets Thenton down and lets Aisleen do her thing.

[Crows-Nest] Davey says, "i can't decide whether i want Domain or Spirit"

Aisleen shapeshifts again, and goes back to fixing

Chaz asks, "I'm going back to look for more clues! Alison, wanna come?"

Davey asks, "did the tunnel just end at that pedestal?"

GM says (to Aisleen), "eventually you get him stabilized into a coma"

GM says (to Aisleen), "probably extended stay in a hospital is the best thing now"

Chaz looks around the blasted area.

Alison says, "Thenton You can be OK, Thenton. You're not really bad, even if they made you do bad things. And good people are supposed to end up OK, so you will, Thenton..." She looks more like she's trying to convince herself than anyone else.

Chaz asks (of valves), "Hey, who installed you?"

Alison says (to Chaz), "Maybe in a bit."

GM says, ""We were just created," the valves say. "One moment gone, the next moment here""

Aisleen says (to alison), "You did great, helping me in there."

Aisleen says (to Alison), "he will be fine"

[nobilis] Aisleen says, "i need ot get going. Why don't I get Thenton to the hospital, and i will log off here? you guys can keep going"

Alison nods.

Chaz says, "<These valves were created ex nihilo. Probably with a realm miracle.>"

Chaz says (to valves), "Wow."

Aisleen says, "<Rike?>"

Chaz asks (of pedestal_remains), "How about you?"

[nobilis] GM says (to Aisleen), "yeah, it's basically closing time"

[nobilis] Alison asks, "Is it possible to tell whether or not the tunnel's actually a part of the realm?"

Davey asks, "well, do we have any idea who the Realm's Hearts are here?"

GM says, "The whole tunnel there seems to have been created by a miracle, yeah, or at least out of nothing"

[nobilis] GM says (to Alison), "yes, and it is"

Aisleen asks (of Alison), "I will tell you what they say at the hospital and we will visit him, later, okay?"

[nobilis] GM says, "(like the greek tunnel was)"

Davey says, "jeez. I'm trying to get my head around someone strong in Realm trying to destroy it"

Aisleen asks (of Davey), "can you whip me up a small car for me to take Thenton to the hospital?"

Davey says, "I'll do better than that"

Alison says (to Aisleen), "OK."

[nobilis] Aisleen says, "we so need to start recycling all the cars Davey makes"

Alison waves to Thenton, Aisleen.

Davey summons an ambulance complete with zombie paramedics

Aisleen says (to Davey), "great job"

Chaz says, "<Correct me if I'm wrong, but the false power of X only gets that power's influence over their domain, right? Not their realm, aspect, or spirit?>"

Aisleen gets in the ambulance with Thenton and leaves for the hospital

Davey says, "shoulda done it right away. I was in shock"

[nobilis] GM says (to Chaz), "I think that's outside your area of expertise"

Aisleen says, "(At the hospital she pretends Thenton is her uncle and gets him admitted)"

[nobilis] GM says (to Chaz), "although if you want to do research on the topic you can probably get an idea if it's the case or not"

[Crows-Nest] Chaz asks, "Anyone from Octavo here?"

Alison asks (of Chaz), "Were there any other places in the tunnel to go in or out?"

GM says, "Aisleen and Thenton head back through the tunnel and to a hospital"

[nobilis] GM says, "sorry, that was "you can get an idea next week, since we're ending here" :)"

[nobilis] Chaz asks (of GM), "No other exits?"

GM says, "no, it ended there"

[nobilis] Chaz says, "Heh."

Alison says, "Maybe we should just go back home for now, then."

Davey says, "always one answer and three new questions"

Chaz nods.

[nobilis] Alison asks, "Did Aisleen put Sparky back?"

[nobilis] GM says, "she was heading back through the tunnel, so I guess so"

[nobilis] Chaz says, "OK, I read up on false power powers, then."

Alison trudges back to the zeppelin they left parked over that way, when they came here earlier.

GM says, "anyway -- thanks for putting up with the confused scheduling and mud-setup. more confusion next week."
