Gaston coughs suddenly, startling the PIs if they're still around.

Wilfred says (to Michel), "<Heh. I can do accountant.>"

[interludes2] Michel paces round the room, fiddling with the catch on a sniper rifle

[interludes] GM says, ""There is the scene later on in the arena of the Vortex Queen as the two prisoners fight their way out -- perhaps you could model that""

[interludes] Penny says, "<hmm, still trapsome>"

[interludes] Kori circles around Ralph. "I'm sure whatever you pick would be absolutely... perfect." She bites the air just next to Ralph's ear.

[interludes] Penny says, "<but less in-chains>"

GM says, "And Wilfred calls, and everything does indeed seem normal with Zarate"

Gaston says (to Kori,Penny), "<Just as an idle thought, please don't be fooled into being shackled with real shackles while in unsuitable clothing by this villain. It would be terribly embarrassing if he were to capture you that way.>"

[interludes] Penny says, "Oh, that sounds *so* much better"

[interludes2] Franklin says, "I'd call this another Domain attack, I suppose."

[interludes2] Alexandra says, "<well, would something like to take some action to spook off these hikers? or start prepping evacuation plans?>"

Kori says (to Gaston), "<of course not. Besides, if I want I can make shackles have a great big crack in them>"

Penny says, "<I suspect it may be to do with The Vortex Queen>"

[interludes2] Michel lets out an agonised scream that echoes across the valleys

[interludes2] GM says, "The hikers look up in surprise. "Did you hear something?" one asks Alexandra."

Wilfred (presumably has a cell phone?) calls Michel's number.

[interludes] Penny leans forward, revealing a *tiny* bit more cleavage

[interludes2] Franklin asks (of Michel), "So basically, you now have no more isolated hideouts anywhere?"

[interludes] GM says, ""I think what you're wearing now could just about be made to serve -- we'd need to attach some strips of shiny fabric, of course""

[interludes2] Michel says (to Franklin), "(very quietly) I don't know."

[interludes2] Franklin says, "Hrrm."

[interludes2] Michel says, "The other ones could be still safe, I suppose"

[interludes] Penny says, "naturally"

[interludes] Kori says (to Penny), "<a scene in which we'll be armed, at least. And if he gives me a dull blade, I can fix that right up>"

[interludes2] Michel says (to Davey), "this one's discovered this particular site"

[interludes] Kori looks faintly disappointed

Wilfred says, "(er, the number Michel gave me.)"

Gaston says (to Wilfred), "Oh, you mean the number he gave you. Right, sorry."

[interludes] Kori says (to Ralph), "Very well, if you like."

[interludes] Penny says (to Kori), "<and I shall practise with a bullwhip tonight>"

GM says (to Wilfred), "Somebody answers. "Hi, coffeeshop, would you like to leave a message?""

Gaston says (to Michel), "<I could head back to the chancel, if you need some research done.>"

[interludes2] Michel straps the missile launcher over his back

[interludes2] Franklin says, "What a confounded waste of effort."

[interludes] Kori says, "Right. We wouldn't want anyone else coming out with a book about the Vortex Queen. SO disappointing."

[interludes] Penny says, "we wouldn't dream of spoiling the surprise"

Michel says (to Gaston), "<I'm coming back, anyway.>"

Gaston says (to Michel), "<Ah, right.>"

[interludes2] Franklin says, "I'm not sure I enjoy the feeling of being snickered at from somewhere afar, either."

Wilfred asks, "ahem. I'm looking for Mr Erich Zarate?"

Michel says, "<They were two steps ahead and they kicked me right in the balls.>"

[interludes] Penny says, "I need to wear something less binding and more, um... I wonder if Marcus kept that victorian dress, that seems about right>"

GM says, ""He's not in right now," the voice says, "would you like to leave a message?""

[interludes] GM says (to Kori), "it looks completely normal -- except for a door off to the side, which is outlined in runes of white fire"

[interludes] Kori says (to Penny), "<! I hate it. SO humiliating. Thank god Michel wasn't around to notice>"

[interludes] Kori says (to Penny), "<also, check out the white fire runes over there>"

[interludes2] Davey asks, "so, how do we all leave discreetly?"

[interludes2] Michel turns into a mantis, settles on a shoulder

[interludes] Kori says, "<I smell chancel research coming right up.>"

[interludes2] Davey says, "hey, or you can arrange for them all to spot some really rare Inca money, and we split while they ooh and aah"

Penny says, "<mm, looks like there may be a vortex here after all>"

Penny says, "<I suspect that would be *after* we go through the vortex>"

GM says, "Everyone except Gaston and Wilfred and their prisoner head back to the chancel"

Kori says (to Gaston), "<we're coming home, for now>"

Penny says, "<the 'modelling shoot' is tomorrow>"

Gaston says (to Penny), "<This was just a casting cou -- er, session?>"

[interludes2] Alexandra loads up bags and people and heads off

[interludes2] Michel asks, "so... we eventually return to chancel?"

Penny says, "<it was merely a, um, discussion of the scene and costumes>"

Kori says, "<and props. OH the props.>"

[interludes2] Michel says (to Alexandra,Davey,Franklin), "Thank you for humouring me. I am much obliged."

Wilfred tries to establish how "normal" things are on the other end of the line.

[Crows-Nest] GM says, "hee hee"

Gaston says, "I could drag this would-be stalker back to the chancel, if you like."

Wilfred says (to Gaston), "only to carry this fellow back to where we can ask him a few questions."

Wilfred says (to Gaston), "right."

GM says, ""Sure, I've got a bullwhip stashed around here someplace," says John"

[interludes2] Franklin silently enjoys the ride.

[Crows-Nest] Wilfred says, "hee hee"

Penny says (to John), "do you mind if I borrow it? *flutter eyelashes sweetly*"

Gaston flexes his Aspect 1 muscles to prop the guy upright as if he's in a drunken stupour.

Gaston says, "It's the Underground for you, my friend."

GM says, "John is clearly still not used to Penny's charms "For you? Anything.""

Penny says (to John), "after I change, of course"

Gaston says, "Actually, no, a taxi."

Michel eventually wanders back into the chancel, looking distinctly the worse for wear

GM says, "and now everybody's back at the chancel"

Kori mixes herself a cocktail and sits in one of the chairs to drink it

[Crows-Nest] Wilfred says, "What hath I wrought...."

Franklin looks wind-ruffled.

Penny dashes off and returns in her usual tweed-and-twinset

Michel breaks open a bottle of absinthe, sits down heavily, and stares into the bottle

Franklin asks, "What happened to that letter I received?"

Kori asks (of Franklin, Michel), "Hello, boys. Have a good day?"

Gaston still looks like Rupert, he realises as John gives him an odd look.

[interludes2] GM says (to Michel), "I should mention, by the way, that the chancel heart doesn't change form with you, so it pops out when you go mantis"

[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "Locus French Farce"

Wilfred accompanies Gaston and stalker. Also, calling detective agency to call off the PIs for now.

GM says (to Gaston), ""didn't you just ..." John says"

Alexandra says, "Well. I think I got my exercise for the year."

Gaston hastily changes back into his incorrigible self.

Michel doesn't reply, and appears to require no small effort to prevent himself from bursting into tears

Wilfred says, "Oh dear. I forgot."

Gaston says, "(Out of John's field of vision.)"

Wilfred asks, "Where's the Real Rupert now?"

Kori is still wearing the "gown", having apparently forgotten to change out

Michel knocks back the alcohol instead.

Davey pokes at the cool technology while he's here

GM says, ""Sleeping. I fixed him a drink.""

Penny asks (of John), "can I borrow that whip now, dear?"

Gaston asks (of Michel,Franklin), "What happened?"

Franklin says (sideways to Kori), "Best to go easy on him at the moment."

Penny frowns at Kori, but then shrugs.

Michel says (to Gaston), "Motherfucking tourists."

GM says, ""Of course!" John hurries off and retrieves his bullwhip."

Gaston says (to Davey), "Thank you again for the help, by the way."

Kori says (to Franklin), "I was just asking."

Franklin says, "Nothing happened, apart from someone making Michel's remote and empty wilderness hideouts into tourist destinations."

Davey says, "we're all in this together."

Gaston says, "My."

Penny says (to John), "thank you. maybe you can teach me how to use it later."

Michel says, "They didn't need to fucking attack. They just have to say 'oh, look, here's Michel's secret isolated mountain retreat that he goes to whenever he really needs to be fucking alone, let's direct half the gap-year students in South America to it'"

Penny says (to Franklin), "erk"

Michel gulps heavily

Penny says (to Michel), "ouch"

Gaston says (to Franklin), "That's a singularly harsh yet cunning attack. Once again our enemies are better-organised than we are."
