Michel eventually wanders back into the chancel, looking distinctly the worse for wear
GM says, "and now everybody's back at the chancel"
Kori mixes herself a cocktail and sits in one of the chairs to drink it

Franklin looks wind-ruffled.
Penny dashes off and returns in her usual tweed-and-twinset
Michel breaks open a bottle of absinthe, sits down heavily, and stares into the bottle
Franklin asks, "What happened to that letter I received?"
Kori asks (of Franklin, Michel), "Hello, boys.  Have a good day?"
Gaston still looks like Rupert, he realises as John gives him an odd look.
[interludes2] GM says (to Michel), "I should mention, by the way, that the chancel heart doesn't change form with you, so it pops out when you go mantis"
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "Locus French Farce"
Wilfred accompanies Gaston and stalker.  Also, calling detective agency to call off the PIs for now.
GM says (to Gaston), ""didn't you just ..." John says"
Alexandra says, "Well. I think I got my exercise for the year."
Gaston hastily changes back into his incorrigible self.
Michel doesn't reply, and appears to require no small effort to prevent himself from bursting into tears
Wilfred says, "Oh dear.  I forgot."
Gaston says, "(Out of John's field of vision.)"
Wilfred asks, "Where's the Real Rupert now?"
Kori is still wearing the "gown", having apparently forgotten to change out
Michel knocks back the alcohol instead.

Penny asks (of Michel), "you can't find another hideout, maybe?"

Michel says (to Penny), "I have many others, but I suspect they are all likewise ruined"
Wilfred is tying Stalker to a chair as he speaks.
Michel glug glug glug
Alexandra says (to Michel), "on the plus side, you now have easy access again to cigarettes"
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "wait, wait"
Gaston says (to Michel), "Still, every cloud has a silver lining. I hear course attendance is up threefold under the tutelage of your, er, twin brother."
Wilfred says, "hm"
Kori says (to Michel), "What this needs is a subtle counterattack.  I suggest starting a rumor that there's been West-Nile-infected mosquitoes practically overrunning the place"
[Crows-Nest] Penny asks, "John is teaching me how to use a whip and Wilfred is tying someone to a chair?"
GM asks (of Wilfred), "are you searching him/waking him up?"
Michel asks (of Kori), "at that altitude?"
Wilfred angles the chair so Stalker is facing Kori and Penny (soon to be Penny + bullwhip) when he wakes up.

Penny says (to Gaston), "they might have been sucked through a vortex and become prisoners of the Ice Queen"

Gaston says, "Life imitates pulp. Interesting."
Penny says, "or perhaps just sucked through the votex"

Franklin asks, "What's this about a vortex?"

Penny says, "in any case, it would appear that the criterion for being putthrough the vortes appears to be... well, looking much as Kori does now"
Wilfred tries to establish identity.
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "I CANNOT SPELL VORTEX"
Kori raises her martini glass in a salute to Penny's acuity
Gaston says, "<A thought -- creating a chancel requires sacrifices, yes?>"
Kori says, "<scantily clad sacrifices?>"
Penny says, "so the vortex either has very good or very bad taste... mm, that's a thought"
Wilfred says, "<any procedure requires the proper steps ... I'm not sure I know the steps for this one.>"
Gaston says (to Kori), "<If one intends to establish a particularly interesting chancel, perhaps.>"
Michel notices Kori's attire for the first time, starts

Gaston says, "<Perhaps there's a similar ceremony to re-establish a Lost Chancel.>"
Franklin scratches out a note to Tommy Briggs, saying that for reasons of health he will be unable to attend the opening ceremony, but all the best, etc etc, and gives it to a monk to send off.
Michel says, "Jesus Amadeus Christ"
Penny says, "the mind boggles at the banes those sacrifices would produce"
GM says (to Penny/Michel), "yeah, although you know from your studies in the inner library that it's not necessarily straight human sacrifices"
Franklin then frowns a lot.
Gaston researches vortexes, white flame, etc.
GM says, "Marcus goes and slips the letter into the mailbox, remembering all the times when Penny used to ask him to mail letters"
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "aww"
Kori smirks at Michel's reaction.  "See, you're feeling better already."
GM says (to Wilfred), "your bureaucracy-sense tells you he's a plainclothes police officer, assigned to watch this guy on suspicion that he may be involved in the disappeance or deaths of two police officers from a few weeks ago"
Wilfred checks up police memos regarding Rupert.
[Crows-Nest] Davey says, "man, this game brings out the kink in everyone"
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "and now I ask him to make sure John isn't mysteriously poisoned"
Kori goes off to change.
Michel drags heavily on the bottle
[Crows-Nest] Kori exclaims, "what kink!?!"
[Crows-Nest] Penny says (to Kori), "you suggested the black leather and whip for tomorrow"
[Crows-Nest] Gaston says, "Your kinks are practically on a silver platter in that dress."
Kori returns dressed in a black turtleneck and enormous sweater, along with jeans and boots.  Also a scarf, gloves, and a hat with earflaps.
[Crows-Nest] Wilfred says, "hmmm ... I am tempted to untie the guy and let him wake up in a darkened room ... where I sit in a cloud of cigarette smoke, my face obscured by the shadows."
[Crows-Nest] Michel asks, "at which point did I demonstrate a kink?"

Kori has another martini.
Penny asks (of Kori), "want my tweed coat to go with that ensemble?"

GM says (to Gaston), "what you come up with is inconclusive -- there's nothing about vortexes as such although these runes may be indicative of some kind of teleportation gateway"
Franklin wanders off into the stacks to brood a bit.
GM says (to Gaston), "those are expensive and can't be maintained for long, though"

Gaston returns to report his findings, and also help the others to work their way through the alcohol.
Michel stands up. "I'm going to Seattle briefly to check on something."
Wilfred unties the Stalker, takes him to a darkened room and sits there, smoking a pipe, waiting for him to wake up.
Gaston asks, "Where was this Ralph's office, anyway?"
Penny stole some of Michel's cigarettes while he was staring at Kori, and now smokes them furtively.
Gaston asks, "And did he have any taint of nobility about him?"
Penny says, "he didn't seem noble, no"
[interludes2] GM has removed Alexandra from the channel.
[interludes2] GM has removed Davey from the channel.
[interludes2] GM has removed Franklin from the channel.

Penny says, "not that I explicitly... er, I mean, specifically checked him"

[Crows-Nest] Michel says, "and underdressed floozies are not my bag"

Michel wanders a little unsteadily for a chancel exit
Franklin says, "<Where is the sphere now?>"
Michel burps
[interludes2] Wilfred says, "That's not important.  What's important is that you were spotted tailing Mr Edwards."
GM says, "Michel's holding it"
[Crows-Nest] Gaston says, "There may not have been staring but there was a definite startle reaction."
[Crows-Nest] Gaston says, "Not to say fight-or-flight."
Alexandra calls after Michel,  "Hey wait! Leave the sphere doodad!"
[interludes2] GM says, ""I'm an officer of the law! Untie me at once!""
Michel says (to Alexandra), "my... full of... one second"
Michel disappears into a washroom
[interludes2] Wilfred says, "As you wish."
Alexandra asks, "One of you boys want to go check on him?"
Penny says (to Alexandra), "*you* can hide it if you want.  I'm not touching it now."
[interludes2] GM says, "The man pauses. "Are you a friend of Mr Edwards?""
Michel emerges, looking significantly more sober and polishing the sphere
[Crows-Nest] Kori says, "eeeewwwwww"
[interludes2] Wilfred probably used red tape ... he uses red tape for everything ... so lets them uncoil.
Penny says (to Michel), "bulemia is so unflattering"
[interludes2] Wilfred says, "You might say that."
Kori's nose is a bit wrinkled but she says nothing.
Michel says (to Penny), "it was for a good cause"
[interludes2] Wilfred says, "I'm very interested in Mr Edwards' welfare."
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "if he didn't vomit it up I don't want to know"
Michel says, "and now I am going to the finest restaraunt in Seattle, because I have not eaten in a week and my stomach is cramping up"
Gaston says, "Hmm. I can't help but think that was a fairly feeble attack, if our enemies actually wanted to capture the sphere."
Michel says, "in addition, I have things to check up on"
[Crows-Nest] Franklin says, "ouch"
Kori asks (of Michel), "do you actually know any fine restaurants in Seattle?"
Gaston says, "It's more as if they wanted to keep us uncomfortable and off-balance."
Michel says (to Kori), "I own one."
Kori looks, for perhaps the first time ever, kind of impressed with Michel
Penny says (to Gaston), "they're doing a good job of that, at least"
Kori wipes the look away ASAP
[whiz-games] Whizzard says, "Yawn."
[interludes2] Wilfred says, "So naturally when it came to my attention that he was being followed ... you must understand, that I would rather have him followed by a *trusted* officer of the law than not."
Kori says, "well, enjoy."
Franklin wanders back in.
Alexandra asks, "Do we have any backup ideas on where to stash that thing to keep it safe?"
[interludes2] Wilfred asks, "You *are* trustworthy.  Aren't you?"
[interludes2] GM says, ""I'm not sure what you're implying, sir""
Michel says, "It is by no means the finest, but they know what the competition is... actually, though, they've got in a trombonist tonight who has this incredible..."
[interludes2] GM says, "The man stands up and takes a step forward towards you."
Franklin says, "If they knew where that hideout of Michel's was, or indeed all of his hideouts, why did they pull this trick instead of -- hmm."
[interludes2] Wilfred doesn't move.
Kori asks (of Michel), "...trombone?"
Michel starts looking around for his sax
[interludes2] Wilfred also has tape ready, in case.  But otherwise, no movement.
Franklin says, "Unless they didn't know we'd actually be going there, and this was something they happened to have planned just as a Domain attack of some sort."
Gaston says (to Franklin), "That's entirely possible."
[interludes2] GM says, "He turns and starts looking for an exit. "I'm getting out of here""
Michel says (to Kori), "unh, approach to the music, style, I don't know what it is"
Franklin asks, "Do they or don't they know we've got this thing?"
Franklin points at it with his walking stick.
Gaston says, "A very good question."
Michel says, "if anyone cares to join me, I will not object"
Kori hops off her seat
Penny stays behind to practise.
Kori says, "Okay.  I'm starving."
Penny says, "*whipcrack*"
[whiz-games] Whizzard asks, "Anyone awake?"
Alexandra says, "I'm in. And -- shall we bring the doodad? I've no idea if it'd be safer here or outside."
Franklin says, "Oh, I may as well go, too."
[interludes2] Wilfred says, "Be my guest.  Through that door, turn left, go straight, turn right, go forward seven stacks, turn back, go three stacks, turn left, and you're out."
Gaston says, "Based on past experience, the chancel is the unsafest place imaginable."
Franklin says, "A week of hideout rations has given me an appetite."
[whiz-games] Jearl says, "yah"
Michel strides briskly off, not really caring much about the sphere any more
[interludes2] Wilfred says, "Just remember ... when you follow Mr Edwards next time ... look out for whomever else might be following him ... or you."
Franklin says, "Just as long as this restaurant isn't in that neighborhood where everything keeps happening."
Gaston says, "Let's all go, and take the sphere."
Franklin says, "I agree."
Michel says, "Seems reasonable."
Penny says, "I stay here, as I said"
Gaston says, "And leave Penny and John and Rupert and -- hmm, and the monks."
Penny cracks the whip a little more.  "I'll be fine"
[interludes2] GM says, "The man gives you a frightened glance and hurries out"
Franklin says, "Maybe we should bring John with us."
Gaston coughs.
[whiz-games] Whizzard says, "Working on some d20 races if you'd like to contribute your opinion."
Penny says, "John is *teaching* me how to use this thing."
Alexandra says (to Penny), "Enjoy your ... recreation"
Michel exclaims (at John,Rupert,monks), "None of you are safe!"
[interludes2] Wilfred chuckles to himself and goes back to join the others.
[whiz-games] Jearl says, "okay"
Kori has a dreamy look on her face that seems to indicate cheese courses and chocolate tortes

Penny says (to Alexandra), "well, a new skill to learn, anyway"
Wilfred asks, "eh what? safe?"
Penny says (to Michel), "I can't imagine what you could mean"
[whiz-games] Whizzard says, "These are for my next book, Galactic Races, which is for Dragonstar, our sci-fi/D&D crossover setting."
Michel tucks his sax under his arm and heads restaurauntwards
Franklin follows.
Penny cracks the whip dangerously close to Michel.

[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "ha"
Kori follows as well.
GM says, "You all head out to a nice place in Seattle"
[Crows-Nest] Gaston says (to Wilfred), "He'd need an Aspect of 7 or so to be 'legendary' like that."
Kori says (to Michel), "I assume you supervise the wine cellar at this place."
[Crows-Nest] Franklin says, "hah"
Davey waves farewell and returns to Ferarium
[Crows-Nest] Kori says, "snrrrk"
Michel says (to Kori), "inn immense detail"
Franklin waves to Davey.
Kori says, "Excellent."
[nobilis] Penny also takes a cigarette break.
Gaston wonders if he should invite anyone else.
Franklin says, "What kind of soup do they have here? I'm in the mood for soup."
GM says, "They have many kinds of soup"
GM says, "Plus a rather nice seafood stew, if you would like that for a main course"
Michel greets the maitre d' and makes some very specific points about the cuisine
Franklin says, "Hmmmm."
Gaston says, "Ah, seafood... the sea..."
Kori winces
GM says, "The maitre d' holds a hurried discussion with Michel's waiter, and they start bringing out many plates of food"
Kori scootches away from Gaston
Wilfred says (to Michel), "Oh by the way.  I'll check on the various local governments' stance on the zoning of your hidey-holes, if you'll tell me which governments to look up."
[whiz-games] Whizzard asks, "Let's see, I've got centaurs, derro, doppels, elems, eleti (skeletons), ith-kon (mind-flayer servitor race), kobolds, and lizardfolk done so far. Any preferences on which you'd like to look over?"
Michel says, "...and tell Thierry to make his truffles a little more aggressive, if you would"
[Crows-Nest] Gaston says (to Michel), "Heh."
[whiz-games] Jearl says, "space skeletons sound interesting"
Michel says (to Wilfred), "I'd rather investigate myself, if it's all the same to you"
[whiz-games] Whizzard says, "ok. one sec."
Gaston asks (of Michel), "In public?"
Kori stares pointedly at her plate
Gaston frowns as the band is too cool to make a 'bdum-tish' sound.
[whiz-games] Jearl asks, "now, is the sci-fi element like, super-science is like magic, or like space aliens meet crazy magic dimension?"
Michel says, "Oh yes, ordering. Feed these people, my friend; I will order after I've done a duet"
GM says, "Other people are brought food also, possibly even soup"
GM asks, "where is the sphere at this point?"
[nobilis] Penny asks, "mm, how much longer are we playing for?"
[nobilis] Penny says, "this is not a complaint, just a 'it's 2am'"
[nobilis] Gaston says, "How big is this sphere? I forget."
[nobilis] GM says, "six inches across"
[whiz-games] Whizzard says, "It's basically D&D meets Star Frontiers."
Wilfred says (to Michel), "as you wish."
[nobilis] Gaston asks, "So, who wants the responsibility of hanging onto this thing?"
[nobilis] GM says (to Penny), "I think about fifteen-twenty minutes"
[nobilis] Michel says, "not I; I have to chat with the trombonist"
[nobilis] Kori says, "I'll take it, I guess"
[whiz-games] Whizzard says, "The dragons rule the galaxy because of their immense power, and the emperorship rotates between the different dragon types. Currently a red dragon named Mezzenbone is in charge."
[nobilis] Kori puts it in her lap, covers it with a napkin, and begins placidly eating her appetizer
[whiz-games] Jearl says, "ah"
[nobilis] Michel starts to play a few notes, remembers something, and nips into the kitchen
[whiz-games] Jearl says, "I don't know much about Star Frontiers, unfortunately"
Penny wanders around the chancel with John, practising making the loudest snapping noise with the whip possible.
Michel emerges with a bottle of wine under each arm
[nobilis] Gaston says, "There are probably worse places for Ghin-Aj to emerge in his might and fury."
[whiz-games] Whizzard says, "It's kind of 'soft sci-fi'. More space opera than hard sci-fi."
[nobilis] GM says, "nothing like an excrucian with a napkin on his head"
[nobilis] Gaston says, "Yay."
Michel says, "For the love of god, drink this"
[Crows-Nest] Davey asks, "the doom thingy is IN YOUR LAP?"
[Crows-Nest] Kori says, "Michel swallowed it, before"
Michel plonks the bottles on the table and heads back to his sax
[whiz-games] Whizzard asks, "Ok, it's ready to send off as an rtf file. Your finger address ok?"
[Crows-Nest] Kori says, "I don't see how this is much worse"
Kori pours herself a glass
[Crows-Nest] Gaston says, "Point."
GM says, "dinner continues uneventfully, unless you count Michel's sax"
[Crows-Nest] Davey says, "yes, well, it's a testatment to my boggulation that thaT ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE"
[Crows-Nest] Davey says, "oops, caps lock"
Wilfred should probably get back to Rupert, actually.  But first, porterhouse steak. Well-done.
[Crows-Nest] Kori says, "well, this way I'll know where it is"
Kori sips some French onion soup
Gaston frowns in distaste at Wilfred's steak.
Alexandra snacks on the bread basket. Free things appeal.
Wilfred asks (of Gaston), "what?"
Kori moves on to the fish course.
[whiz-games] Jearl says, "go ahead"
[whiz-games] Whizzard says, "sending"
Gaston says (to Wilfred), "It's brown! That can't be healthy."
Michel says (to Alexandra), "this logic doesn't work when food's on the house"
Kori is unusually scrupulous about not dripping on her lap.
Wilfred says (to Gaston), "Don't be silly.  It's well-done."
[whiz-games] Whizzard says, "sent."
Alexandra says (to Michel), "Enh, it's kinda ingrained."
Franklin finishes his soup and dabs at his mustache.
[whiz-games] Whizzard says, "I'll see if I can shrink the art down to a reasonable size too."
Kori says, "<I wonder -- if I resized the sphere to be small enough to fit in my pocket, would that also resize Ghin-Aj?>"
Gaston says (to Wilfred), "Ah, well, I'll leave you to it and enjoy the harvest of the sea."
Kori says, "<I rather like the idea of a pocket-sized really pissed off-- er... actually, maybe not.>"
Michel wolfs down a cheese omelet, knocks back a couple of glasses of wine, introduces the trombonist to the group, and nips into the kitchen to banter with the chef
Kori eats fresh-water fish.
Gaston says (to Kori), "<Presumably Ghin-Aj is in the Lost Chancel, rather than inside the sphere per se.>"
[nobilis] Franklin asks, "people keep talking as if Ghin-Aj is inside the sphere. am I the only one who never got that impression at all?"
[nobilis] Gaston says, "Timing."
Kori says (to Gaston), "<Damn.  Well, it was a thought.>"
[nobilis] Gaston says, "Yeah, I was only using that for a joke earlier."
[nobilis] GM says, "right, the chancel's heart is here but not the chancel itself -- although what that means isn't exactly clear"
Franklin also ordered fish.
Michel says (to Franklin), "may I reccommend the tilapia"
Gaston says, "<We should probably research this phenomenon, of a disembodied chancel heart.>"
Franklin squeezes lemon, squirting it everywhere by accident.
Gaston says, "<But since we'll only find what Vona wants us to find, well.>"
Franklin says, "Whoops."

Kori says, "ouch."
Kori blinks suddenly-citrused eye

Gaston asks, "Or should we continue to react to enemy movements?"

Gaston says, "I'm still curious about what Vona let us discover about possible traitors."
Wilfred says, "I've long been of the opinion that we should corral our, er, weak points together in a safe spot and secure them."
[whiz-games] Whizzard says, "More or less."
Gaston asks (of Wilfred), "Weak points? Anchors, and other mortal friends?"
Franklin says, "We could blow up the neighborhood where the big final hoo-hah is meant to take place."
Wilfred says (to Gaston), "yes."

Gaston says (to Wilfred), "It's a bit too late for some of my model friends, unfortunately."
Franklin says, "Hmmm, the traitors, yes."

Wilfred says, "I'm all for their continued freedom and happiness, but if I have to cryogenically freeze them and keep them in my bedroom closet to keep them safe, I will."
Gaston says, "I was wondering whether we might throw, well, some kind of party."
Gaston says, "To get all the nobles together where we can see them."
Franklin says, "Interesting idea."
Michel starts his main course with an immense kangaroo steak

Michel glances around the restaurant nervously for a second, sees it's only half-full, cheers up
[whiz-games] Jearl asks, "so, are the races you names in addition to the regular PC races, or have the regular humanoids been changed?"
GM says, "less than half-full, even -- you're the only big party left, and there are just a handful of couples remaining, plus the waitstaff"
[Crows-Nest] Franklin says, "s/half-full/half-empty/"
[whiz-games] Whizzard says, "In addition. There are orcs, elves, dwarves, etc. Also drow, half-dragons, and 'soulmechs', which are robot PCs."
Michel says, "Fucking philistines. Don't know a genius trombonist when they hear one"

Kori says (to Michel), "which, I imagine, is how you like it"
Gaston says (to Michel), "The other tables appreciated it slightly more than this one, however."

Franklin eats some sort of rich chocolate cake for dessert.
Kori tucks into something involving a lot of wild mushrooms
Michel appropriates a truffle-and-cheese fondue
GM says, "the remaining people filter out as you continue ordering -- eventually it's down to just you and the waitstaff"
Michel says, "Don' suppose any of you sing."
Gaston toys with his delicately constructed and beautifully balanced meal and drinks coffee.
[whiz-games] Jearl says, "I don't know if the eleti are balanced. Total immunity to CON stuff and the undead traits are awfully sweet"
Kori smiles unnervingly
Kori says, "I don't think you want to hear it."
Wilfred says (to Michel), "I can only do karaoke.  Which I detest."
[whiz-games] Jearl says, "they should have some disadvantage other than the social. maybe a Charisma and Wisdom hit"
Gaston says, "I believe I've heard Penny singing Tom Jones songs, but she is sadly not here."
[whiz-games] Whizzard says, "The other races going in this book (that aren't done yet) are: orogs (big ogre types), pershalas (cat people), pevishan (magic-blooded humans), quasta (there is no way I can describe them), sathoni (dryads in space, sorta), siarrans (four-armed humans), tarn idoun (living crystal beings that created the ioun stones), and ulb (amoeba dudes)."
Franklin launches into a verse of 'What do you do with a drunken sailor?'
Michel says, "Enh you just sing. I'm drunk and I wanna play the goddamn sax but I can't be fucked to do a solo."
[whiz-games] Whizzard says, "Their disadvantage is ECL +3."
Kori hums a little of some torch song under her voice
[whiz-games] Jearl says, "oh, ECL +3. missed that at first."
Kori looks a bit drunk herself
Wilfred says, "hmmm..."

Wilfred says, "Well...."
Alexandra says (to Kori), "Yowza. Break out the outfit again and you've got yourself a cabaret career"

Michel leans back in his chair and muses quietly on the sax
Wilfred hums "where have all the flowers gone"

Kori rolls her eyes.
[whiz-games] Whizzard says, "Then I have racial templates, which we've discussed already."
Kori hands the sphere off to Alexandra
Kori says, "Fine, fine."
Franklin claps.
[whiz-games] Jearl says, "so, okay, that sounds better. But I still think there should be more downside to being a living bone guy"
[whiz-games] Whizzard asks, "Besides the fact that clerics can turn you or control you?"
Gaston whistles.
Kori steps up and has a brief, muttered conversation with the other musicians
GM says, "(there's just the piano player besides Michel now)"
[whiz-games] Whizzard says, "I thought they were fairly weak, myself."
Michel levers himself to his feet and leans against the piano
Kori gives Michel a You Asked For It, Buster look
Gaston says, "Hmm. If we did throw a party, there'd be no trouble arranging entertainment."
Gaston says, "With the correct garments, of course, as you said."
[whiz-games] Jearl says, "I'm thinking. My first impressions tend to be pretty garbled."
Michel says, "Thierry? Once we've done a couple numbers I wan' that dessert you do with all the Scotch in that's on fire."
Kori rolls up the sleeves of her turtleneck
Kori says, "any time you're ready"
[whiz-games] Whizzard says, "With ECL +3, you'll be 3 levels lower than the average cleric that tries to screw with you. That means they need 1 or higher on their turning check to zot you."
Michel plays
Alexandra murmurs to Gaston, "Video. I would sell my soul for a camcorder."
[whiz-games] Jearl says, "one thing. If they can go up character levels they should be subject to experience draining."
Alexandra says, "Well, maybe not my soul. The soul of someone I dislike, preferably."
Gaston surreptitiously passes the camera he had earlier to Alex.
Kori leans one hip against the piano, looks out into the audience, and launches into something unnervingly sultry
Alexandra says, "Excellent."
[whiz-games] Whizzard says, "Well, I can't alter that part, unfortunately. It's from their write-up in the mythic races book."
[whiz-games] Jearl says, "actually, since they're so vulnerable to divine hoodoo, I guess my unease is withdrawing"
Gaston says (to Alexandra), "I believe if you flick that switch it will record a 'quick time' animation. Sufficiently advanced technology and all that."
Michel tries hard not to outshine the poor piano player *too* much
GM says, "The evening gets later and later -- it was coolish out earlier, and a fog has risen up outside"
Kori wanders around the piano as she sings, and blows kisses at the camera
[whiz-games] Whizzard says, "I gave them immunity to vacuum and radiation just to ease their pain a bit, basically."
Wilfred asks (of Alex), "is that for entertainment or blackmail?"
Gaston, brain relatively unfogged, frowns slightly.
Alexandra says (to Wilfred), "First the latter, then the former."

Kori sings about how she's been done wrong
Michel eventually winds down in order to consume Thierry's incendiary pudding
Wilfred says (to Alex), "I'll bet the blackmail will be just as entertaining."

Michel pricks up his ears at the sound of miserable music and gets back to playing
Kori is actually not that bad.  Which is kind of... freaky.
Kori finally goes back to the table and has some coffee
Franklin notices the fog outside.
Kori says (to Alexandra), "I cut all the circuits in that thing earlier this afternoon, you do realize."
Franklin claps and whistles, but in a distracted way.

Franklin says, "Excuse me."
Kori looks around, realizing that not everyone's attention is focused on her performance

Gaston says (to chef), "Ah, fiery scotch thingy? For me? How kind!"
Franklin gets up and stares out the windows in a slightly paranoid way.
Alexandra frowns a bit
GM says (to Franklin), "it's, on closer inspection, really thick fog"
Michel pauses

Michel blinks, and attempts to clear the fog
GM says, "like being in an airplane flying through a cloud"
[whiz-games] Jearl says, "Big Friendly Gun"
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "man, y'all are SO PARANOID"
Gaston says, "<Suddenly I'm wondering why we think Michel's properties are safe havens.>"
Alexandra stands up
Alexandra asks, "Um, yeah, how 'bout that fog?"

Michel says, "Yeah, good work Thierry, we're gonna be off now."
GM says (to Michel), "a gap in the fog starts to ripple outwards from the window"
GM says, "revealing darkness"
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "okay, maybe with good reason"

Michel says, "I have just the fucking thing"
Wilfred says (to Kori), "I hope."

Kori has not stopped eating chocolatey things
Alexandra asks, "Um, what time is it, y'all?"

Michel nips into a back room, fiddling with keys

Franklin steps just outside the front door and peers around.
Michel emerges with a high-powered spotlight under each arm
Franklin says, "Spotlights just made fog into a big white glare."
GM says (to Franklin), "the front door slowly swings open, and there's the faint brush of air past you, as if the pressure's adjusting or something"
Michel says, "Clear fog, use lights. Simple."
GM says, "or as if a long-closed tomb is being opened"
Kori swallows and sits very still
Michel sips a coffee to clear his head slightly

GM says (to Franklin), "and outside -- dark hills and trees, and not a sign of the street you came in by"
Alexandra says, "Shit. We seem to be having a bit of a crisis-y thing at Karin's ... thingies growing up through the floor ... and, um, shit. Not that things look peachy here either."
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "than being with you lot"

Michel looks out of the door
Kori asks (of Alexandra), "what kind of thingies?"
Gaston says, "So if any villains want it they'll have to ruthlessly slaughter us all first."

Franklin walks the plank to adventure. Arr!
Franklin arrives, looking for booty.
Wilfred pulls a strip of tape between his hands.

Gaston looks at the fog and the darkness in mythic vision.
GM says, "the fog is fading away, slowly"
Kori says, "I am feeling a strong desire to be back home, right about now"

Michel walks outside, clearing the mist and shining the light about
Michel says, "Come on, library's this way"
Alexandra says, "I'm gonna detour to Karin's"
Alexandra says, "So someone else probably wants to mind the sphere"
Gaston asks (of Alexandra), "On your own?"
Alexandra says, "Well, I won't object to company"
Wilfred says (to Alex), "Sure, I'll take it."
Franklin walks, scanning alertly in all directions.
Alexandra hands it off
Michel says, "we'll walk you there, I think"
Gaston says, "Yes, that sounds safest."
GM says, "as you hand it over, you realize it looks different"
GM says, "before it was glowing -- now it's dull"
[Crows-Nest] Franklin says, "urk"
Michel says, "oh cap"
Wilfred wraps the sphere in tape, just like a christmas present.
[Crows-Nest] Penny says, "mmm"
Alexandra says, "suits me fine. Also, she'd been trying to contact me for three *days*, apparently. That's rather worrying that I hadn't picked up a thing until now"
Wilfred says (to Michel), "<what?>"
[Crows-Nest] Penny asks, "so, seattle as the lost chancel, then?"
Michel says, "taking the heart to where the chancel is located may not have been the best plan"
Gaston asks (of Michel), "The chancel is located in your restaurant?"
Michel says (to Gaston), "damn, I hope not. excrucians have no fucking taste and they eat almost as much as Kori"

Gaston says (to Michel), "Still, judging by the state of Wilfred's steak, they won't get their hundred sacrifices via food poisoning. Cancer, possibly."
Franklin asks, "That is still the same sphere, isn't it?"
Wilfred says (to Michel), "Sooner we get out of here the better, it looks like."
