Kinkajou says, "there is, I suppose, no reason we can't hang onto the guns for now"

Morfu says, "We should probably keep the two deliveries seperate."

Kinkajou says, "so let's take the bodies down now, then"

Morfu says, "Yes, let's."

Morfu asks, "Has our rented truck arrived yet?"

GM says, "You can expect it to be waiting planetside."

Morfu asks, "We're planetside, right?"

GM says, "You're on board your ship, unless I misremember."

Morfu says, "Yeah, but the ship is landed, I mean."

Morfu asks, "Isn't it?"

GM says, "It's docked at the orbiting station."

Morfu says, "Oh, I see."

Morfu asks, "And we made arrangements as to wear to drop them off, didn't we?"

Kinkajou says, "yes"

Kinkajou says, "at the, ah, sacred heart hospital, I believe"

Morfu says, "We should probably containerize them first, or some such."

GM says, "'Crates? Yeah, sure. Want me to empty out some of the ones in the cargo bay?'"

[Crows-Nest] Morfu says, "That's "swabbing the deck" to you, landlubber."

Kinkajou asks, "uh, I guess -- what else is in them now?"

GM says, "He frowns, perhaps in concentration. 'Um, there's one with armor, I think... or a couple with armor. And the robot parts... and guns? Um...'"

Kinkajou says, "oh, hrm"

Morfu says, "Might as well empty out the armour ones. The buyer for those probably won't be so concerned about the shiny packaging in any case."

Kinkajou says, "ok then"

Kinkajou says, "I suppose it's not worth trying to smuggle in the guns under the bodies"

Morfu says, "Then load the crate with the bodies onto a shuttle."

Morfu says (to Kinkajou), "I believe our honourable engineer has already found a buyer for the weapons."

CoCGM has disconnected.

CoCGM goes home.

Kinkajou says, "yes, but the buyer is down on the planet and the weapons are not"

GM says, "'Bodies in the armor crate, crate in the shuttle? Got it!'"

GM says, "He salutes, and exits."

Kinkajou says (to Davey), "make it so"

GM says, "A couple minutes later, Davey's voice comes up on the intercom."

Kinkajou asks, "yes, Davey?"

GM says, "'Uh, you want me to try to stuff the bodies all in one crate?'"

Kinkajou rolls his eyes

Kinkajou says, "no, empty out more crates if you need to"

GM says, "'Right!'"

Morfu says (to Kinkajou), "Okay, chummer, here's the 411. I'm transporting these bodies under medical quarantine to the hospital for virological testing under safe conditions. If anyone asks."

Kinkajou says, "uh, I guess"

Kinkajou says, "we'll be a bit early, but I expect that'll be fine"

Morfu proceeds down to the shuttle bay.

Morfu asks (of Peter), "Care to join us for our little trip planetside?"

Kinkajou follows along.

Robot_Peter says (to Morfu), "I don't see why not."

Morfu says, "Actually, the hospital may have a shuttle landing pad itself for incoming medical emergencies."

GM says, "You find Davey there, as he just finished loading the shuttle."

GM says, "The back seat is filled with crates, but the two front seats are still open."

Kinkajou says, "I'll cram in the back"

Kinkajou sighs and puts down his blaster rifle, and then climbs in

GM says, "Also, the cargo bay doors are still docked to the station."

Morfu says, "Hrm. I'll contact base personnel."

Morfu goes to a nearby comm terminal.

Morfu says, "Orbital base, this is Night Wolf. We are about to depart to planet surface in one of our shuttles. Standby for our disengagement."

GM says, "'Will you be bringing down any cargo?'"

Morfu says, "That's an affirmative, Orbital Base. We've already been bordered and cleared by your officials. Over."

GM says, "Very good. Please transmit a copy of your sales manifest before delivering the cargo to the surface. Thank you Night Wolf, over and out."

[roguespace] Robot_Peter asks, "Also, who's going to pilot this thing?"

Morfu says (to Kinkajou), "What do you think? 'Medical materials?'"

Kinkajou says, "uh, I think 'bodies' would be fine -- nothing to hide here"

Morfu writes up the manifest as 'Bodily remains for medical examination.'

Morfu asks (of Kinkajou), "Will you be taking the helm?"

Kinkajou says, "unless somebody else wants to"

Kinkajou says, "no? ok, I will then"

Morfu says, "She's all yours."

Kinkajou gets out of the back seat, then, and takes the control seat

Morfu says, "Peter, would you mind sitting in the rear? You're probably less likely to be damaged by sitting on lumpy crates than I am."

Robot_Peter looks at the arrangement of crates.

Morfu remotely de-docks from the station and goes into a Standard Orbit.

Robot_Peter says, "I believe I can fit, yes."

Robot_Peter folds up its legs to enter the shuttle and slides between the crates.

Morfu says, "Davey, shuttle here. We should be back... in a little while. Radio us if anything unusual comes up."

GM says (to Morfu), "You don't really know much about flying a ship, but I guess a standard orbit isn't *too* hard."

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "(I think I'm actually flying here, despite what he said)"

[roguespace] Morfu says, "Ya, but I broke the ship off from the station so we could get out."

[roguespace] Morfu says, "You're driving the shuttle."

Morfu boards the shuttle.

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "er, ah"

Morfu says, "Ready when you are, cappy."

Kinkajou takes 'er down

GM asks, "Are you bringing the shuttle directly to the hospital, or to the city's public landing pad?"

Morfu says (to Kinkajou), "I suppose we should go down to the main landing port for the planet and pick up our rental transport."

Kinkajou says, "ok then, public pad"

GM says, "You bring it down, and the attendants direct you to where your flatbed skimmer is waiting."

Kinkajou gets out and starts struggling to move the crates from the ship to the skimmer

Morfu says, "Well, we could drive the skimmer up to the ship."

Morfu transfers the crates somehow.

Morfu says (to Peter), "Hop in."

GM says, "The skimmer has plenty of room for the crates. There's one seat for a driver, and room for passengers to sit on the flatbed, with the cargo."

Morfu says, "Guess we're in for a windy ride, then."

Robot_Peter climbs onto the skimtruck.

Morfu says (to Kinkajou), "Try to keep it down under Mach."

[Crows-Nest] Morfu says, "Hey, maybe Peter is a LASH unit."

Kinkajou grins and guns the engine a bit

GM says, "Luckily, there's little traffic on the roads right now."

Morfu enjoys the wind in his... wait, Dovi have no hair.

[Crows-Nest] Robot_Peter asks, "hm?"

[Crows-Nest] Morfu says, "Well, robot built for slaving, sounds like the standard LASH MULE to me."

[Crows-Nest] Robot_Peter asks, "you're never going to drop that slave comment, are you?"

[Crows-Nest] Morfu says, "Forgive me if finding a slave-driving robot is memorable."

[Crows-Nest] Robot_Peter says, "okay, now I don't even know what you're talking about."

[roguespace] GM says, "(Checking the logs, BTW -- did you provide the Kalveshi with three DNA sequences earlier, or two?)"

[roguespace] Morfu says, "I believe we sent all of them except that one which didn't entirely fit."

[Crows-Nest] Morfu asks, "Didn't Peter describe his past employment as controlling human slave labour?"

[Crows-Nest] Robot_Peter says, "didn't mean to say anything of the sort."

[Crows-Nest] Morfu says, "I must be on drugs, then. Sorry about that."

[Crows-Nest] Robot_Peter says, "you asked what the Kalvesh would want with me and I took a wild guess that I would be a slave."

GM says, "Although you're unfamiliar with the city, the local net has navigation data that lets you find the hospital easily."

[roguespace] Robot_Peter asks, "is the engineer in the shuttle, or vaporized?"

[roguespace] GM says (to Peter), "In the shuttle."

[Crows-Nest] Morfu says, "Ah, sorry; I thought a 'slave technician' was one who was directing slaves."

Morfu asks (of Kinkajou), "Did we get a contact name for someone in the hospital?"

GM says, "It is a tall building, painted white, although a bit grimy now."

Kinkajou says, ""Lan, of Edan Tek""

[roguespace] Robot_Peter says, "that's not good. We'll have to say the other one was found in too bad a condition and leave before they can do tests or ask many questions."

GM says, "The name of the hospital -- 'Strong of Heart' -- is written in English, Dovi, and (you assume) Kalveshi."

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "well, they didn't identify the body as being theirs"

Morfu says (to Kinkajou), "Standby."

Morfu enters the hospital and goes to the reception desk.

Kinkajou pulls up with a screech of air-tires

[roguespace] Robot_Peter says, "but you gave them three sequences and they'll be expecting those three bodies, I think."

Morfu says, "Hello. I'm from the Starship Night Wolf. I've got a delivery for a 'Lan'. We're expected."

[roguespace] Robot_Peter says, "that we withheld the one sequence is likely to look more suspicious than anything else, unless they already have a clue what's up."

[roguespace] Morfu says (to Peter), "The sequence we withheld was from one of the vapourized bodies."

[roguespace] Robot_Peter says, "no it wasn't."

GM says, "The receptionist says something to you in Kalveshi, then goes into another room behind the reception desk."

[roguespace] Morfu asks (of GM), "Wasn't it?"

[roguespace] Kinkajou asks, "I thought there were four bodies. no?"

[roguespace] Morfu says, "There were four crew; two bodies and two pink smears."

[roguespace] Robot_Peter says, "about 20 lines up, on this channel. The engineer is one of our two bodies."

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "oh, ah"

[roguespace] Morfu says, "Is my recollection."

[roguespace] Kinkajou asks, "so in fact we have a total of one body and two scrapings?"

[roguespace] GM says, "There were two bodies and two stains; the aberrant gene sequence was from one of the two bodies in engineering."

[roguespace] Morfu says, "Oh. Well, we'll play it by ear."

[roguespace] Morfu says (to GM), "Thanks."

[roguespace] Kinkajou exclaims (at Davey), "see, that all fits in one crate!"

[roguespace] Morfu says, "Heh. We can always explain that we just didn't get around to sequencing the last body."

GM says, "After a few minutes, he returns with a woman, also Kalveshi."

GM says, "She speaks to you in English. 'Hello. Are you in need of help?'"

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "no, we said that we did"

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "I said, if you recall, that we found these bodies in a tank we got from a salvage dealer"

[roguespace] Robot_Peter asks, "you said that you had four sequences?"

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "yes"

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "and that one of them didn't match the others, and was it theirs? and they were non-committal"

Morfu says, "Yes. I spoke earlier with a 'Lan', perhaps Dr. Lan? I'm Dr. Morfu cle Eshta, from the Starship Night Wolf. I'd arranged a delivery of some specimens I'd wanted an opinion on."

[roguespace] Morfu says, "Oh yes; I recall that now. Frightfully sorry, fellow players."

GM says, "'Lan... Lan of Tek? He said someone would come in some hours. You are early.'"

Morfu says, "Yes, that is correct. Our schedule opened up a bit early and we were hoping we could expediate the process."

GM says, "'Lan is not here, but I am the doctor who was to examine the... the cargo. I am Tsala of Edan Thel.'"

Morfu asks, "Pleasure to meet you, Dr. Tsala. Where should be bring our transport around to?"

GM says, "She points. 'Please bring it around this side of the building. I will have someone bring the -- bring them inside. I am afraid that Lan is busy, but I can begin examining them immediately.'"

Morfu says, "Very good."

Morfu walks back to the skimmer.

Morfu says (to Kinkajou), "Bit of a complication."

Morfu explains the conversation.

Kinkajou asks, "oh?"

Kinkajou says, "ah"

Kinkajou says, "well, let's take this crate inside, I guess"

Morfu says, "I suppose we should. If Lan told her about it, it's probably safe enough."

Morfu asks, "Edan Thel isn't on our list of bad guys, is it?"

Kinkajou says, "I'm not totally sure these people are trustworthy, but it shouldn't matter too much"

Robot_Peter says, "Probably another family of the same clan."

Morfu says, "Alright. Well, she directed us over to THAT side of the building."

Kinkajou says, "right-o"

Kinkajou zooms round the corner.

[roguespace] Morfu asks, "Can I radio The Ship from this transport?"

[roguespace] Morfu asks, "Or do I have some sorta hand-held jobbie?"

GM says, "There is a large loading door on that side of the building; it's already being opened by someone wearing a hospital uniform."

[roguespace] GM says, "I imagine one of you probably brought a radio, sure."

[roguespace] Robot_Peter says, "I have a comm link."

[roguespace] Robot_Peter says, "in a way of speaking, I am a comm link."

GM says, "Two Kalveshi men come over to your transport. You see Dr. Tsala in the doorway, directing them."

[roguespace] Morfu says (to NightWolf), ""Away Team to Davey. Delivering cargo to hospital; receiver is Tsala of Thel standby for spelling I-Spell tango sierra alpha (etc etc). Away Team out."

Morfu says (to Tsala), "I apologize for our lack of proper containers for their mortal remains."

[roguespace] GM says, "'OK! Sounds like fun.'"

Robot_Peter gets out of the way of the hospital employees.

GM says, "'I understand. Are both crates together?'"

Morfu says (to Tsala), "I'm not sure I follow."

Morfu says, "They were both retrieved from the same location, yes."

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "wait wait"

[roguespace] Kinkajou asks, "did we really take down both bodies?"

[roguespace] Morfu asks, "As far as I know. Why?"

[roguespace] Robot_Peter asks, "what, you wanted to hang on to one?"

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "ok, just checking"

[Crows-Nest] (from Morfu) Kinkyjou says, "One of them was pretty cute."

GM says, "The workers take the crates inside."

[Crows-Nest] Kinkajou says, "aie"

GM says, "Tsala asks, 'Would you like to come inside to wait for Lan, or will you prefer to return to speak with him when he comes later?'"

Morfu says (to Tsala), "The next-of-kin may wish to contact us for closure. We may be in orbit for a few days; we can be contacted at this frequency callsign NIGHT WOLF."

Morfu says, "If he'll be done in a few hours, we can certainly wait. I'd like to see your facilities here."

[roguespace] GM says, "(For reference, I should remind you that the buyers for your other cargo are expecting you in about an hour)"

[roguespace] GM says, "(Whereas Lan wasn't expecting you for another three hours)"

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "I think we're blowing off the other guys"

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "this is probably unwise since they know where our ship is and all"

[roguespace] Robot_Peter asks, "why?"

[roguespace] GM says, "OK."

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "because we need to get the guns down to the planet and nobody's suggested an idea for how"

GM says, "'Very good. If you'll come with me, I'll show you my lab.'"

[roguespace] Morfu asks, "Didn't they offer to come up and get them?"

[roguespace] Robot_Peter asks, "did they inspect your cargo the last time you took a shuttle down?"

Morfu snaps his fingers.

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "well, short of paying dues, which (I assume) negates the point of smuggling them in"

[roguespace] Kinkajou asks (of GM), "I don't know, did they?"

[roguespace] Robot_Peter says, "they did, but we didn't agree at the time and couldn't contact them back."

Robot_Peter asks (of Morfu), "What about our appointment in a standard hour?"

Morfu says, "Oh my, I just remembered another engagement. I should probably just cancel on them, but, you know, that's hardly polite..."

Morfu says, "If you'll allow me to confer with my colleagues."

Morfu walks back to the skimmer and speaks in hushed tones.

Kinkajou asks, "well?"

Kinkajou asks, "are we going to deliver the other goods?"

GM says, "She nods, and leaves for the moment with the men carrying the crates."

Morfu asks, "Well, hmmm. Do we even know where or who to deliver them to?"

[Crows-Nest] Morfu says, "DAMN LAG ooh how I hate you."

Kinkajou says, "gregory made the arrangements -- we can radio him"

[roguespace] Robot_Peter says, "we had the address of a certain warehouse"

Morfu says, "Yes, I'd somewhat assumed Gregory was going to handle it. I suppose we can dash off and handle it for him."

[roguespace] Kinkajou | Gregory says, "We're supposed to deliver it to a warehouse called Mayg's in two hours."

Morfu walks back to Tsala.

Morfu says, "Dreadfully sorry, doctor; ship's business calls; you know how it is. Lan knows how to contact us; please give him my sincere regrets. Hopefully he'll contact us if anything peculiar arises in the course of his investigation. Here, you should probably give him this, too."

GM says (to Morfu), "She's gone into the elevator inside. You can follow, if you like."

GM says, "But you don't know what floor she's gone to."

Morfu asks, "Are the crates still here, or have they been whisked away?"

GM says, "The receptionist shows a suitable mix of disappointment and impacable cheerfulness (which she is presumably required to maintain at all times), and she offers her condolences."

GM says, "(You didn't see that)"

GM says (to Morfu), "The crates were whisked away after her."

Morfu shrugs.

GM says, "However, it's not long before the elevator comes returns, and the doctor is conveniently back."

Morfu says, "Oh, there you are."

Morfu says, "As I was saying, very busy, must go, you know. Please give this to Dr. Lan at your earliest convenience."

Morfu hands the datacube with the DNA sequences on it to Tsala.

Morfu says (to Kinkajou), "Yes, yes; I'm *coming*, I'll be right there."

Morfu waves.

GM says, "'Oh, I am sorry you can't stay. Thank you -- will you be returning later to see Lan when he arrives?'"

Kinkajou looks impatient and taps the steering joystick

Morfu says (to Tsala), "With any luck, yes."

Morfu boards the skimmer.

Morfu exclaims, "Thank you for all your assistance!"

Morfu knocks twice on the skimmer floor.

GM says, "She nods, looks over the datacube, and returns to the elevator."

[Crows-Nest] Morfu says, "(Or is my little corner of the globe the only people that slap a vehicle twice to indicate to its driver that its safe to go?)"

[Crows-Nest] Kinkajou says, "apparently"

Kinkajou guns the engine again, and zips back to the spaceport and

[Crows-Nest] Morfu says, "Oh. I think it's rather a nice gesture, and is at least somewhat safety-oriented."

Kinkajou says, "hrm, well"

Morfu says, "We'd best be getting a move on."

Kinkajou says, "unless anyone has any better ideas, I suppose we bring down the other things as personal effects"

Morfu says, "AwayTeam to Davey: Please ready our OTHER SHIPMENT in the cargo bay. Over."

Morfu says, "Sounds good to me."

GM says, "'OK -- uh, what shipment's that?'"

Morfu grits teeth.

Kinkajou transfers into the shuttle along with the others and flies back up

Morfu says, "AwayTeam to Davey: Nevermind. Prepare for our arrival. Out."

GM says, "'Right, sir. Whatever you say, sir.'"

[Crows-Nest] (from Morfu) Davey says, "Oh, the WEAPONS. Yeah, I've got all the WEAPONS piled up here on the cargo bay. Sure are a lot of them."

[Crows-Nest] Robot_Peter says, "hee hee"

Morfu asks (of Davey), "Did we miss any incoming messages?"

GM says, "(Assuming you make it back to the ship and so forth...)"

GM says, "'No, sir! The only messages were from you!'"

GM says, "However, as you speak, there is an incoming signal."

Morfu says, "Ah, very good. Nice to be back aboard... oh, look at that."

Morfu says, "Officer in Command, Night Wolf. Go ahead."

GM says, "A robotic monotone says, 'Channel open, sirrr.'"

GM says, "You hear your boss's voice follow..."

GM says, "'Night Wolf, where the hell are you?'"

Morfu says, "Apologies sir, Morfu here. We are transferring some cargo down planetside, which required us to break from the station."

Whizzard says, "Ah, I see. Well, send someone down to the police station when you're done."

Kinkajou asks, "the police station?"

Morfu says (away from the terminal) "Guys, load up the weapons into the shuttle."

Whizzard says, "Yes, I'll be there filing a report."

Morfu says, "Roger, sir; Should be there within the hour."

Morfu asks (of Peter), "Do these crates of weapons have big stencils saying WEAPONS on them in Kalveshi or anything of that nature?"

Kinkajou asks, "what kind of report?"

Whizzard says, "I've discovered a smuggling ring here on the planet. I'm going to report them."

GM says, "You can fit the two crates of blasters in the shuttle. Gergory reminds you that the deal also included eight crates of armor."

Kinkajou says, "reporting a smuggling ring? how, um, civic of you"

Morfu says, "Alright, we'd better take both shuttles."

Kinkajou says, "uh, no, we're not taking anything"

Morfu asks, "You think our captain has foiled us?"

Whizzard says, "Nobody messes with my hunting. Thessleton out."

Kinkajou says, "I think that is very likely, yes"

Morfu says, "Well, the planet IS a big place. But we've not heard from our buyers lately."

Robot_Peter says, "Yes, the crates are very clearly labelled."

Morfu says, "In light of current events, we should probably not proceed without our captain's full knowledge and go-ahead."

Morfu asks, "Shall we meet him and decide on our course of action, then?"

Kinkajou says, "yeah, that seems right"

Kinkajou asks, "we can leave the crates on the ship and take the shuttle down, I guess?"

Morfu says, "Yes."

Morfu says, "Well, we've got another empty shuttle, yes."

Morfu says, "Let's leave the other ready to go."

[roguespace] Robot_Peter asks, "we wouldn't be able to fit all of it in less than three shuttles/trips, right?"

Kinkajou says, "good idea"

[roguespace] GM says, "Right."

Morfu boards the empty shuttle and preps for departure.

Morfu says (to Kinkajou), "Why don't you drive again. You're good at it."

Kinkajou exclaims, "you bet!"

[Crows-Nest] Morfu says, "Shotgun. Ha ha."

Kinkajou zips back down planetside, then taps into the net for locating the police station

Morfu says (to Peter), "Thanks about the crates. Almost shot my own foot off. Ha, ha. Ehh."

GM says, "(Taking a few moments on the interlude)"

Morfu admires the scenery.

GM says, "OK, you zip back down to the same landing pad, and find a parking space for your shuttle."

Morfu disembarks, re-embarks.

GM says, "According to the public maps, the police station is near the center of the city, walking distance from where you are."

Kinkajou starts walking, then

Kinkajou whistles and watches the scenery, wishing he still had his blaster rifle

Morfu says, "Yes, a splendid little stroll through the city; excellent idea."

GM says, "And it's only a few blocks before you reach the station."

Morfu says, "Clever folks, locating the police station so near the entry port to the planet."

GM says, "It's a nice clean building, done in an Earth classical style."

[Crows-Nest] Morfu bellows, "I AM THE LAW."

GM says, "At least, on the outside it is."

Morfu proceeds therein.

Kinkajou follows him

Robot_Peter keeps with the others.

Morfu says, "Hello, Ms. Receptionist. We're here to meet a Mr. Thesstleton, whom we believe has just issued a statement to your establishment."

GM says, "The building is not quite as clean inside. People of various races sit on benches waiting their turn to speak with the desk sargent."

Morfu attempts to skip to the front of the queue, with his Authorative Bearing and his Snazzy Suit.

[Crows-Nest] Robot_Peter says, "Sargent: he's the sergeant of the future."

GM says, "(Arr, 'sergeant' -- drat that Granade!)"

GM says (to Morfu), "OK. The sergeant seems annoyed, as do the people waiting."

Morfu says that thing he just said.

GM says, "Also, someone else comes in not long after you do."

Morfu says, "Ah, thank you, good sergeant."

Whizzard says, "Ah, there you are, good good. I'm all done here, let's go."

Morfu proceeds out of the building none too slowly.

Kinkajou says, "ah, good"

Kinkajou asks, "so tell us, about this smuggling ring, how'd you hear about it?"

GM says, "The sergeant grunts, but seems more pleased about your leaving than he was annoyed about your arriving."

Whizzard asks (of Kinkajou), "Keep your voice down, damnit. Did you get rid of that cargo yet?"

[Crows-Nest] Kinkajou says, "hee hee hee"

Kinkajou says, "uh, no, we were about to, and then we heard from you"

Whizzard says, "Well, take care of it and prepare the ship for departure."

Morfu says, "We've discharged... some of our cargo."

(From Whizzard) Thessleton mops at his brow with a handkerchief and looks around him nervously.

Kinkajou asks, "uh, if you've gone and reported the existence of a smuggling ring it seems like a bad idea to try and sell anything to said smuggling ring, hmm?"

Morfu says, "The issue, sir, is that we'd rather not deliver our cargo to the same smuggling ring you therein brought to justice."

Whizzard asks, "What the hell are you talking about? Smuggling ring? Who did you sell those robot parts to, exactly?"

Robot_Peter says, "Maybe someone at Kayg's could arrange for a transport vessel bigger than the shuttle."

Morfu says, "Meet our new friend, captain. His name is Peter. Peter, this is our captain."

[roguespace] Robot_Peter says, "uh, we've met."

[roguespace] Morfu says, "Well, that should answer his question about the crate of robot parts."

[roguespace] Robot_Peter asks, "were there more parts though?"

Whizzard says (to morfu), "Yes, yes, very nice. Look, just take care of it, okay? I want off this planet in 1 hour."

Morfu says, "Yes sir."

Morfu looks at Kinkajou.

(From Whizzard) Thessleton mops his brow again. "Now, where the hell did you hide the ship?"

Morfu says, "Let's make haste."

[roguespace] GM says (to Peter), "Yes, but you're the only one who probably knows that, at this point."

Morfu says, "Standard orbit, sir. We'll shuttle you there."

[roguespace] Morfu says, "Err, at least I *hope* it was standard orbit."

(From Whizzard) Thessleton sighs in relief, "Thank god" he mutters under his breath.

[roguespace] GM says, "Or an erratic approximation thereof."

Robot_Peter asks, "Is anyone going to Kayg's to see about a transport shuttle?"

Kinkajou asks, "er, kayg?"

Morfu says, "Yes, I suppose we could take care of that."

Morfu says, "Excuse us, sir."

GM says, "At this point, you have perhaps fifteen minutes before you'll be expected with the cargo, as shuttling up and down from orbit does not take negligible time."

Whizzard says, "Right. That's more like it."

Morfu says (to Kinkajou), "Let's take the skimmer over to the warehouse and explain ourselves."

Kinkajou says, "uh, ok, if you say so"

Kinkajou taps into the public net again to get the warehouse location, and roars on over there

Morfu is with him. Peter can go either way.

Robot_Peter goes along in case translation is needed.

Morfu says (to Kinkajou), "We'll just explain that we had a bit of difficulty and are now ready to deliver."

Robot_Peter says (to Morfu), "But the cargo will compose three shuttleloads. They might have their own transport."

Morfu says (to Peter), "Yes."

GM says, "The 'Street of Oranges' is in a somewhat dingy part of town, full mainly of warehouses and dark alleys."

GM says, "They place you're looking for turns out to be both: a dingy warehouse in a dark alley."

Morfu says (to Kinkajou), "Honk, or flash your lights, or something. These don't seem like people that would be good to surprise."

Kinkajou taps the horn.

GM says, "A grungy Dovi man in a long coat hurries out of the building."

Kinkajou says, "(or, rather, the electrobeeper)"

GM says, "'Quiet, quiet, please!'"

Morfu says (to Kinkajou), "This show is yours."

[Crows-Nest] Kinkajou says, "oh, THANKS"

Kinkajou says, "er, sorry"

Kinkajou says, "we were coming to discuss the arrangements for you to come pick up the equipment, as we had discussed earlier"

[roguespace] GM says, "Hmm, since Gregory's not here..."

[roguespace] GM says, "I'll let you pretend he is."

GM says, "Gregory whispers to you, confirming that this is the man he made the deal with."

[roguespace] Robot_Peter says, "excellent. Gregory, do the talking."

GM says, "'What, pick up? No, no. You said you deliver here, yes? Ready for you now.'"

[roguespace] GM says, "Hee. Nice try."

[roguespace] GM says, "Call him a silent partner."

Kinkajou glares at Gregory. "You idiot! That's not what we arranged!"

Kinkajou turns back to the man. "I apologize for the misunderstanding, but I am afraid it is impossible for us to bring the merchandise down -- we are in the middle of some delicate negotiations preparatory for leaving"

GM asks, "Ah, mmm. That could be difficult... you need transport for cargo, from ship to here?"

Kinkajou says, "yes, exactly"

GM asks, "Mmm. Maybe I can do a favor. Maybe. But it is short notice, no?"

Kinkajou says, "my apologies -- I had expected that know-nothing (glaring at Gregory) to arrange things properly beforehand"

GM says, "He nods, fidgeting a bit. 'Well. My friend has a transport... I will call him. But he will charge. Maybe much. But for me, maybe he will do a favor too. I will call, yes?'"

Kinkajou says, "good idea -- then we can discuss his fee"

GM says, "He disappears back into the building."

Kinkajou looks around warily

[Crows-Nest] Morfu says, "Honk some more! No."

GM says, "After a few minutes he comes back out."

Kinkajou asks, "..?"

GM says, "'My friend, he's very business. He wanted one shil hundred fifty. I said, that is no much. Your are friends of Dinarrik? Too much to charge friends.'"

Kinkajou says, "very thoughtful of you"

Morfu asks, "How much are you planning on paying us total?"

GM says, "'But, I called another friend. He owed a favor to me.'"

GM says, "'I am able to make him agree for only one hundred shil. I think it is a good price. You agree?'"

Kinkajou says, "fair enough"

GM says (to Morfu), "Gregory nudges you, and says that you're getting nine hundred for the ten crates."

Kinkajou asks, "so, where do we meet your friend's transport?"

GM says, "He nods are Kinkajou. 'Very good -- he will leave immediately.' He runs over to your skimmer, and reaches in to honk your beeper several times."

GM says, "'Where is your ship? Is it on the station, yes?'"

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "he "honks your beeper" as much as the next smuggler"

Kinkajou asks, "it is in orbit -- do you wish to meet us at the station?"

Morfu says, "Psst -- we need to get back too somehow."

[roguespace] Robot_Peter asks, "isn't the shuttle still downtown?"

Kinkajou says (to Morfu), "we'll call up and they'll send a shuttle down, if they went back in it"

[roguespace] Morfu says, "I presume that the captain went back up. Perhaps not."

GM says, "The big warehouse doors open while you talk, and an oversized shuttle lumbers out. 'Orbit is fine, fine. What orbit? What ship? Do you have, a transponder? Turned on?'"

Kinkajou says, "we'll make arrangements to turn it on -- here's the code we'll use"

GM says, "He nods, 'Good, very good. Coming on the truck? Will someone be there, to give us cargo?'"

Kinkajou says, "we will return to our ship now and transfer the cargo"

GM says, "He nods several times, and boards the truck himself."

[roguespace] Kinkajou asks, "ie, our truck?"

GM says, "You can see him arguing with the driver through the front viewport. Perhaps telling him the transponder codes and so forth."

Robot_Peter contacts the ship to ask whether the shuttle and captain are coming back already.

[roguespace] GM says, "The shuttletruck."

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "ah, ok"

[roguespace] GM says, "Not the skimmertruck."

Kinkajou nods to the man, and zips back to the spaceport to (hopefully0 meet the shuttle

GM says, "'Oh, hi Peter robot. Mr. H says I should bring the shuttle down for you.'"

GM says, "'So I'll be there in a few minutes.'"

Kinkajou says, "good work, Davey"

[roguespace] Robot_Peter asks, "He can pilot? And he's employed swabbing decks?"

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "he's working his way up the ranks"

GM says, "After a few minutes, you see a shuttle descending -- dipping, swerving, and generally avoiding hitting anything by dint of being high in the air."

Morfu says, "Uh oh."

Kinkajou sighs

Kinkajou says, "I'll have to take that boy aside"

GM says, "It does manage to land without doing more than cosmetic damage, though. Davey opens the door and waves."

Morfu boards.

Kinkajou hops up, and steps up to the controls

[roguespace] Robot_Peter says, "now I want to know how the shuttle got up to the ship and successfully docked."

Kinkajou says (to Davey), "now pay attention this time"

[roguespace] Morfu says, "Captain or Chauncy could have driven."

Kinkajou waits for Peter to board and then zips back up to the ship

[roguespace] Robot_Peter asks, "could they?"

GM says, "Thesselton radios. 'Your customers are here.'"

Kinkajou says, "ah, good, we'll be there in a sec"

Morfu says (to Ship), "Get the money up front."

Kinkajou docks the shuttle and disembarks

Kinkajou looks around for his blaster rifle.

GM says, "And, as you get closer, you see athe shuttletruck hovering near the ship, its rear port facing the cargo doors."

GM says, "A few moments after you land the shuttle, you hear the thunk of the other one attaching itself."

GM says, "Then you hear someone knocking on the cargo doors."

Morfu says, "Guess we should let them in."

Kinkajou opens the doors

Kinkajou says, "right"

(From Whizzard) Thessleton wanders in, whiskey in hand.

GM says, "Dinarrik comes in, followed by a generic-looking human thug."

Whizzard says, "Ghhrreetings. Mi casaba es thu casaba."

Kinkajou sighs

GM says, "'Ah, friends, it is nice to visit here. We will take the four and four and two now? Just say the ones, and Frred will take them for you.'"

[roguespace] Kinkajou asks, "4 and 4 and 2, is that right?"

Morfu says, "We would like to see the money, yes."

[roguespace] Robot_Peter says, "2=blasters and 8=armor, I think."

Kinkajou steps into the bay to pick out the right crates

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "ah, ok"

Whizzard waves his glass drunkenly, "Yheees!"

[roguespace] GM says, "Yes. Gregory can tell you arranged to seel four crates of heavy armor, four of light, and two of blasters."

Kinkajou looks to see if they have enough containers to repackage the one or two Davey spilled

GM says, "Dinarrik looks int he crates you show him, fussing over their contents. Perhaps verifying that they're what they should be."

Morfu stares at the thug for a while.

GM says, "Fred, meanwhile, man-handles the crates that have been checked over into the truck."

Robot_Peter asks (of Thessleton), "Why don't we go to the bridge to prepare for departure, sir?"

GM says, "'All is good. I will pay; it is nine hundred, but one for trucking, so it is eight hundred shills. Good to do business.'"

Kinkajou says, "a pleasure to work with you"

Morfu says, "You 'will' pay? Pay now. Please."

Whizzard says (to rp), "You got it, old buddy."

GM says, "He presses eight hundred shills in cash into your hands, and then proceeds to shake each of your hands in turn. Left and right."

Whizzard staggers off, one arm around Peter's shoulder.

Morfu says, "Ah, very good."

[roguespace] Morfu asks, "Is this guy himself dovi or human or kalveshi or what?"

[roguespace] GM says, "Dovi."

Kinkajou, suspiciously, checks the money is still there

GM says (to Kinka), "It actually is."

Kinkajou . o O ( what are the odds? )

Morfu prepares the cargo doors for closure.

GM says, "Fred finishes loading the cargo onto the truck, and Dinarrik bows repeatedly to you as he boards. 'Maybe you will come back some time, with more things. You can do business with Dinarrik again.'"

Kinkajou says, "but of course"

Kinkajou says, "we will remember to look for you first"

GM says, "They close their doors."

Morfu says, "We close ours."

Morfu says, "Captain, we are finished."

GM says, "Ther shuttle separates, and moves away, towards the planet."

Morfu proceeds to bridge.

GM says, "You pick up a signal from the station."

Kinkajou tunes it in.

Whizzard asks, "Shomebody get that, willya?"

Morfu says, "Night Wolf here, go ahead Orbital."

GM says, "A woman appears onscreen, in a station uniform."

Kinkajou murmurs "Better get ready to jet, folks"

Morfu says, "Go ahead, Orbital."

GM says, "'We detected your activities. This is just a reminder that we will need a copy of any cargo sale manifests, for proper tax purposes, Night Wolf.'"

GM says, "'Also, don't forget to pay your docking fees before leaving orbit.'"

Kinkajou asks, "surely they filed the proper reports as they returned to the system?"

Morfu says, "Roger that Orbital; invoice us, over."

GM says, "'We do not have any transmissions from the shuttle. Transmitting summary of fees now.'"

Morfu reads.

GM says, "A sidescreen displays a short list of costs -- one day's docking fee, as well as several taxi fares that were apaprently charged to the ship, and a night's room at the Day Break Park."

Whizzard says, "Donnnn't whorry....Mr. Daram said he'd cover our fees as a...urp...farewell gift."

Kinkajou asks, "Daram? who's that?"

GM says, "'Copy that again, Night Wolf?'"

Kinkajou says, "we got it, and will be in communication"

Morfu says, "Standby, Orbital."

[roguespace] Morfu asks, "What does the total come to?"

Kinkajou ends the transmission for now

Whizzard says, "Mr. Daram's a big man...he won't mind...he'll be happy to be rid of *hic* us."

[roguespace] GM says, "About a hundred fifty shills."

[roguespace] Kinkajou asks, "hmm, do we know what kind of taxes we'd have to pay on the merchandise?"

Morfu says, "Recommend we pay now out of ship's funds and get reimbursed by Mr. Daram later."

Kinkajou says, "recommend if you think we're actually going to get reimbursed, you get your head examined, doctor"

[roguespace] GM says, "A percentage of what you got for them -- probably between five and ten percent, although it varies from planet to planet."

Kinkajou says, "I say we blast out of here right now and to hell with the fees"

Whizzard snores happily.

Morfu says, "No reason to call the legitimacy of our operation into question now, over a few shill."

GM says, "The signal light flashes again."

Morfu says (to Kinkajou), "Go ahead."

Kinkajou answers the signal

Kinkajou says, "when you subtract taxes and fees from what --"

GM says, "The same woman appears. She seems a bit disconcerted or perhaps confused by something."

GM says, "'I'm sorry, Night Wolf. It appears that everything is under control.'"

Morfu says, "Roger that, Orbital. Night Wolf breaking orbit. Have a good one."

Kinkajou asks, "oh?"

Kinkajou says, "ok then"

Kinkajou says, "we'll just be going now"

GM says, "'We have the payment for your fees, and Day Break sent us the manifest for the foodstuffs you sent down, as well as the taxes for them.'"

[roguespace] Morfu asks, "Any new reports of salvageables on the ole net?"

GM says, "'I apologise for bothering you. Station out.'"

Robot_Peter finds out where CHAUN-C is.

Kinkajou says, "ah"

[roguespace] GM asks, "On the planet net, or the more general interspace net?"

Kinkajou shrugs, and blasts on out of the system before she changes her mind

[Crows-Nest] Morfu says, "Time for some hot ROBOT-ON-ROBOT action."

Robot_Peter says (to CHAUN-C), "Take Mr. Thessleton to his quarters, would you? I believe he needs some rest."

Kinkajou asks, "can anyone explain that?"

[roguespace] Morfu says, "In the big outer space one."

Morfu says (to Kinkajou), "Apparently this Daram was good for it."

[roguespace] Morfu says, "But sort by closest to us."

[roguespace] GM says, "I'll let you know next week. i think this is a good spot to wind down for now."

[roguespace] Morfu says, "I've nothing further."

[roguespace] GM says, "Er, next session, I mean."

[roguespace] Morfu says, "Yay."

[roguespace] Whizzard says, "Bueno."

[roguespace] Morfu says, "Someone wake up the drunk."

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "ok, that was weird"

[roguespace] Whizzard says, "Heheheh."

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "but possibly the #interludes will be more enlightening"

[roguespace] Morfu says, "That would be my guess."

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "yay getting things done"

[roguespace] Morfu says, "Fun game so far, but, as to my own tastes, feels a bit TOO open-ended, if you know what I mean. Maybe that's the nature of this game, which is fine."

[roguespace] Robot_Peter says, "yeah, I hope there's more plot coming up."

[roguespace] Robot_Peter asks, "speaking of plot, I'm still working on those encrypted files?"

[roguespace] GM says (to Peter), "Sure."

[roguespace] Morfu says, "To some extent, "We're a bunch of greedy scavengers" isn't exactly a lot to hang a plot off, so I'm willing to take some responsibility for it."

[roguespace] Whizzard says, "Give it a session or two."

[roguespace] Whizzard says, "I'm pretty sure things will pick up."

[roguespace] GM says, "Next time, I might try to do some things to force rogue PCs back to the group a bit more. For note-comparing."

[roguespace] GM carefully avoids looking in Whizzard's direction :)

[roguespace] Robot_Peter says (to Whizzard), "that's because you get into trouble and wind up knowing what's going on."

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "hee hee"

[roguespace] Morfu says, "Ah well then. I guess I shouldn't complain. Last night I spent 8.5 hours in D&D resolving about ten minutes of combat."

[roguespace] Whizzard says, "Hey, I just went out and did some hunting, got drunk. Nothing harmful or anything."

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "excellent"

[roguespace] Kinkajou laughs

[roguespace] Morfu says, "I'm putting on my RogerCarbol suit again."

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "not in the city park, I hope"

Morfu goes home.

[roguespace] GM asks, "BTW, I'm going to call this the break between story two and story three. Do you guys want the interludes opened up, or do you want to wait until everyone's talked about them IC?"

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "I would be fine with opening up the interludes if they don't spoil too much stuff that's still now"

[roguespace] Whizzard says, "Hmm, leave it for one more session."

[roguespace] Kinkajou says, "that's fine too"

[roguespace] GM says, "OK, I'll leave them closed for now, then."

[roguespace] Robot_Peter asks, "how far back are they closed?"

[roguespace] Whizzard says, "You could open it up to this session, as far as I'm concerned."

[roguespace] RogerCarbol says, "Well, if we're floating in space for the next week of gametime to get to another mission, presumably we'll chat things over."

[roguespace] GM asks, "At the moment, I think they're all closed. Want me to do what Whizz said?"

Eolo has disconnected.

Eolo goes home.

[roguespace] inky says, "sure"

[roguespace] inky says, "if it's not a hassle to open them up for this session later"

[roguespace] Robot_Peter says, "sure. My interlude should be amusing if not particularly informative."
