Background (short version):

Emvee grew up in a Novatech enclave near Seattle. His mother worked in an
electronics manufacturing plant, but was arrested when Emvee was fifteen
for smuggling goods out to sell on the black market. Emvee learned his
electronics skills from Blitzen, one of her partners. Later, Emvee
studied magic and engineering at Reifler Community Technical College
(after hours, not officially as a registered student) with the help of
Leslie DuMont, an instructor there.

He's been living on his own for the last seven years on and off the
street, making money doing odd jobs, electronics repair work, and selling
tinkered equipment. He's recently been working as a sound guy for the
H.U.G., but he's about to try out shadowrunning for the first time, to
make enough money to buy more expensive toys.
