Thurgun sets the amulet down on the table.
GM says, "The effect stops."
Emvee peers at the amulet some more.
[shadowrun] Emvee wonders if it's partly 'used up' now.
GM says, "Looks the same as it ever did. You can't see the thread anymore."
[shadowrun] Gunther asks, "Free as in beer, or free as in stolen?"
[shadowrun] Emvee says (to Gunther), "Free as in 'hmm, no one seems to be using this anymore. at least, not at this particular moment...'"
Emvee says, "I think we bett'r not use this to much 'nless we c'n figure out where 't's pointin' to."
Thurgun says, "O'i would think it's pointin' to the mage that made it."
Thurgun says, "And that they made it so if you say the word, it acts like they cast the spell."
Emvee asks, "Think 'e got a hit o' drain jus' now?"
Thurgun nods.
[shadowrun] Emvee says, "Hmm. I wonder if it'd be practical to try to triangulate that thread."
[shadowrun] Emvee says, "Spend a few hours driving south or west a ways, then check it again to see if it's at a different angle."
Thurgun says, "O'i think we better move. If we can get this back to Seattle, I can maybe re-bond this to me."
[shadowrun] Thurgun says, "That'd presumably be the 'tracking down the owner' thing, which you thought earlier was not such a good idea."
Emvee asks, "What 'f th' guy at th'other end tries t' find out who jus' smacked 'im upside th'brain?"
Thurgun nods.

Thurgun says, "Crazy thing is, O'ive never heard of magic working in a non-line-of-sight before."
Emvee asks (of Thurgun), "I'n't that s'posed t' be one o' th'tricks foci're good f'r?"
Emvee says, "Maybe not *castin'* like that, but at least keepin' 'em goin' that far."
Thurgun says (to Emvee), "Right, the castin' part."
[shadowrun] Emvee says, "Oh, BTW: the Electronic analysis I was talking about earlier was in reference to the beta boxes."
[shadowrun] Emvee asks, "Do the labels mean they're betaware parts?"
[shadowrun] GM says, "you've never seen it before, but Sunny or Tony are able to identify them as looking a lot like the boxes their 'ware came in before it was implanted"
[shadowrun] Emvee asks, "Are the Equipment list 'ware prices for the parts or for the full process?"
[shadowrun] GM says, "the equipment list includes the surgery, yeah"
[shadowrun] GM says, "I'd have to check but the actual equipment is probably 75% of the list price."
[shadowrun] Thurgun asks (of GM), "You did see my question to Dr. Rohm, right?"
[shadowrun] GM says, "yes, I did"
[shadowrun] Thurgun says, "OK, jes' checking."
[shadowrun] GM says, "this forum is great except the part where I am answering questions even faster than before :)"
[shadowrun] Thurgun laughs.
[shadowrun] Emvee asks, "Oh, if you lose like 0.7 Essence and 0.6 Bio Index, does that cost one point of Magic (since neither has lost more than a point), two points of magic (because you lose a point for each one), or two points of magic (because together they add up to more than one)?"
[shadowrun] katre says, "I'm not sure, I'd have to check the rules (which will mean finding a copy of the rules, which means finding a PDF I'm not supposed to have)"
[shadowrun] katre says, "but I am guessing it'll be 2 points"
[shadowrun] Thurgun says, "OK, I say we clear out of the place we were when I activated this thing, just to be safe, and I'll start researching remote-activated sustaining foci, to see how they work, and if I can re-bond this one."
GM has disconnected.
GM goes home.
