Jim_Crowe looks in the direction of the library, and begins walking that way.

Ender says, "It's a long, ivy-covered building with several wings.  The front room is an echoing hall - lots of Thean mottos carved on the walls, plus what look like the names of patrons."

Remy says, "The receptionist will be able to direct us further"
Remy asks (of Jim), "Nothing like this in your country?"
Receptionist, in fact, glares at you.
Receptionist looks Jan up and down.
Jim_Crowe says (to Remy), "Oh yes, several. Er, I mean, so I've heard."
Remy asks (of receptionist), "We're looking for Father Anselne.  Would you be able to direct us to him?"
Jan says, "Mmm. Stone is good."
Receptionist asks, "Oui, monsieur?  What is your business 'ere?"
Francois says, "Yes, this place does have it's appeal.  If you like that sort of thing."
Receptionist says, "I am sorry, sir.  Only scholars are allowed inside."
Francois says, "Not my kind of finery, but it's nice."
Jan appears not to be noticing the Receptionist's attitude whatsoever.
Remy says (to Francois), "One would not expect you to understand the value of higher learning."
Francois says (to Remy), "Indeed, while one as yourself seems to always be learning from those higher than you."
Jim_Crowe says (to Receptionist), "In that case, we could wait here while you get him."
Jan walks past the others where they're chatting, to look around.
Receptionist says (to Remy,Fracois), "For reasons which I believe you are making plain."
Receptionist asks (of Jim), "Do you have an appointment with him?"
Remy says (to receptionist), "I apologize for my boorish companion"
Francois says (to Receptionist), "Hmm, what?  Really, I never ..."
Jim_Crowe says (to Receptionist), "Yes."
Receptionist says, "Then doubtless he will bo along to meet you."
Jim_Crowe says (to Receptionist), "Unfortunately, he's probably waiting for us inside."
Remy says (to Francois), "Please, this is a center of learning.  let us leave our squabbles outside and maintain the peace."
Jan calls back to the others. "Did she say where the Father would be?"

[7thsea] Receptionist says, "He."
[7thsea] Remy says, "I've been translating"
[7thsea] Jan says, "Ah. I've just not been listening, it would seem :)"

[7thsea] Jim_Crowe says, "I've been assuming that the learned lady speaks several languages."
[7thsea] Francois says, "and i've been correcting his translations of the dialect"

Jan steps back to the others.

Jan says (to Receptionist, in Vesten), "Father Anselme? Middle-aged man, this tall, grey hair?""

Remy asks (of receptionist), "If you will not allow us inside for our appointment, could we persuade you to send a note in to him?"

Receptionist slides a sheet of paper and inkwell toward Remy.
Remy says (to Francois), "These gentlemen are now my companions, and I shall make sure they suceed in their quest."
[7thsea] Jim_Crowe asks, "Does Anselm read Avalon?"
[7thsea] Ender says, "You're not sure."
Jan nods, "'Men in service of Alfred Huygen need to speak with you regarding his son.'?"
Jim_Crowe says, "That's alright, I'll write it."
Remy says (to Jim), "very well, sir."
Remy passes the paper along.
[7thsea] Ender says, "You're pretty sure he reads Vendel - you remember him discussing some literature with Hal on the last voyage."
[7thsea] Jim_Crowe says, "Well, if he doesn't, perhaps the curiosity will bring him out."
Francois says (to Remy), "Even so, I don't think this means anyone is anticipating your arrival.  Or welcoming it in any way, for that matter."
[7thsea] Jan asks, "Do any of us *write* in Vendel?"
Remy says (to Francois), "Please.  Just because no one welcomes you, doesn't mean they feel that way about everyone."
Jim_Crowe takes a pen and writes (en Avalon), "Dear sir, we have been told to give you an important message. Please meet us at the front desk."
[7thsea] Remy says, "man, I better get at least a free raise on my next taunt towards Franc for all this. :)"

Francois sighs.  "Hurry up and write it, man.  I could have cut the message onto the paper with my blade faster than you write."
[7thsea] Remy says, "Jim is writing, you know"
Receptionist rings a bell, and a young boy pops up.  He hands the note to the boy and goes back to his writing.
Jim_Crowe says (to Remy), "Thank you, sir."
[7thsea] Francois says, "hmm, ok"
[7thsea] Francois says, "fine, i'm snooty to everyone :)"
[7thsea] Remy says, "if you want to insult _him_, go right ahead"
[7thsea] Remy says, "hee hee"
Ender says, "Time passes..."
Remy says (to Jim), "you're quite welcome.  I'll jsut wait to make sure you get in."

Jan gets impatient.
Ender says, "The boy returns and hands another note to the receptionist."

Jan whispers to the boy, "Here, can you lead me to Father Anselme?"
Jan shows the boy a guilder.
Receptionist looks surprised. "You may proceed.  Matthieu will show you where his office is.
[7thsea] (from Remy) Jan whispers to the boy, "Want some candy, little boy?"
[7thsea] Jan says, "Hee."
Remy says (to Jan), "Good luck in your work."
[7thsea] (from Francois) The boy looks at the guilder longingly as Jan puts it away.
Jan says (to Remy), "Thank you. And you in your errands."
Jim_Crowe says (to Receptionist), "Thank you, my good man."
Mathieu snatches the guilder out of your hand, and it vanishes in a twinkle.
Remy heads outside, marvels at what a nice day it is.
Jan pats the boy on the head with a grin.
Jim_Crowe seems a lot less sailor-like in this environment.
Remy says, "I think that I shall have lunch here at the university today."
Mathieu leads you through a door, and into a huge, dim hall filled with stacks of books.
Remy goes to get some food, and returns to eat it on the steps of the library, in the sun.
Jim_Crowe proceeds into the office.
[7thsea] Jan asks, "Is Frank sticking with us, or following Remy?"
[7thsea] Ender says, "Is - yeah."
[7thsea] Remy says, "I ahd to stick around somehow. :)"
Francois tags along with Remy, for no particular reason.
Ender says, "It's quiet in here - you can occassionally hear the scritching of writing or murmered conversations, but mostly it's lonely."
Remy says (to Francois), "What, no dogs to catch today?  it must be your day off."
[7thsea] Jan asks, "How did Matthieu's name change spelling?"
[7thsea] Jim_Crowe says, "Now there's a co-dependent relationship if I ever saw one...."
Ender says, "The fact that you're soon lost in the maze of stacks makes it lonelier."
[7thsea] Remy says, "heh"
Francois's attitude is just screaming, "I'm so BORED", but he says nothing of the sort.
[7thsea] Mathieu can't spell too well.  He's only 7.
Remy breathes deeply and enjoys the beautiful spring day.
Jan lets his club drag along the books' spines -- taptaptaptaptaptaptaptap...
Jim_Crowe exclaims (at Jan), "don't do that!"
[Crows-Nest] Sargent says, "I fear I'm too tired to kibbitz well. It's back to the lounge with me."
Sargent disappears.
[Crows-Nest] Remy says, "byeArr"
Francois asks (of Remy), "Miserably dull weather today, don't you think?"
Mathieu turns around and puts his hands on his hips. "Stop that.  Or I'll have you thrown out!"
[Crows-Nest] Jan waves to Sarge.
Remy says (to Francois), "I find it delightful after last week's rains."
Jan stops the tapping.
Mathieu darts off between another pair of shelves. You could swear you've been here before.
Jan shrugs.
Remy says, "Of course, one who was born under a toadstool might feel differently."
Francois says, "Ah, the rain ... much more relaxing than this horrid sun."
[7thsea] Jan asks, "How high are the shelves?"
Francois says, "The heat does horrors to my complexion."
Jim_Crowe says (to Jan), "It seems we've been led into a maze of twisty stacks, all alike."
Ender says (to Remy,Franc), "A group of students approaches you.  Four of them."
Jan says (to Jim), "Mmm."
Francois says (to Remy), "Of course, one born with the thick backwoods physique you have would hardly understand."
Remy says, "Well, I hear the death-pale look is going out of fashion, so perhaps it will do you good."
[7thsea] Ender says, "Pretty high.  There are stools to reach the top."
Jan says (to Matthieu), "If you can't find him, I'll have to take the guilder back."
[7thsea] Francois says, "that didn't come out as i mean, but who cares"

Jan, noting the lack of response, also knocks. Louder.

Student asks, "And can you use it?"
Student asks, "Or do you merely affect the trappings of a man of action?"

Francois laughs.

Francois sees Remy's flaw in his form before he even finishes drawing his sword, and laughs.
Student laughs.
Remy tries to look non-challant.  Remy fails.

Student says, "Well, you're sitting at my bench."
Francois says, "He tries to be a man of action, but he still has much to learn from his superiors."
Student says, "Begone, or I'll show you how to use it."
Remy says, "I don't see your name on it, young man"

Francois says (to Remy), "Indeed, I learned child's play a long time ago.  Too bad you have so much catching up to do."
Remy says (to Franc), "I have been learning other lessons while you played with toys."
Student points. "Now you see it." But he steps a little farther from Francois as he does.
[7thsea] Francois asks, "wait, that was intimidate or an attack?"
[7thsea] Remy says, "Tagging, I bet"
[7thsea] Jan asks, "So when they fight, will the students just be watching, or will they take a side?"
[7thsea] Francois says, "ah n/m"

Remy says (to Student), "I believe it is a crime to deface University property.  begone, or I shall report you to your teachers."

Jan brings the song to a close, his powerful voice filling the space between the shelves by its end, leaving a wake of peace behind it.

Jan, continuing to whisper this conversation, says, "Does the name 'Aidezmoi' mean anything to you?"

[Crows-Nest] Cadiz says, "OK, off again to use fone."
Jim_Crowe looks confused.
Remy says, "That's 'help me' in Montaigne."

Jan says, "I heard a woman calling it from behind a door..."

Remy says, "Oh, dear."
Jan frowns.

Remy asks, "We must investigate.  Which door?"

Jan says, "An inner door, within Anselme's office."
Cadiz has disconnected.
Cadiz exits stage left.
Remy asks, "mmm, have we tried knocking here?"
Jan says, "The man in there -- whoever he was -- said that Anselme's been arrested."
Jan says, "And he himself claimed to be with the Inquisition."
Remy asks, "The Inquisition?  Rearing its head here in Montaigne again?"
Jim_Crowe says, "oh dear."
Remy says, "I thought the king had sent them all back to Castille"
Jan says, "He wanted to know what message we'd intended to give to Anselme. I don't know how he knew there was a message, but..."
Remy says, "But I don't follow politics much."
Jan says, "I told him that the Captain of the Mary II was looking for Hal."
Jim_Crowe reddens slightly.
Jan says, "He seemed satisfied with that."
Jim_Crowe says, "Well, we'll have to get through the door, then."
Remy says, "If the Father has been arrested, where would they keep him?  It would have to be nearby."
Jan says, "But I fear he might know more about Hal's business than I, which mightn't be a good thing."
Remy asks, "Perhaps under the cathedral?"
Jan asks (of Remy), "He might even be within that inner room where the woman was calling from. Do you know if there's an exterior window from that office?"
Remy says (to Jan), "I've never been in this building before."
Remy says, "We could go look outside, but I doubt we'd get back in again."
Jan nods, "I apologise. I thought you said you knew someone who studied here."
Remy says, "Well, yes, but although my brother is here, I haven't been by the library much."
Jim_Crowe frowns at the door.
Jan says, "Well... unless there's a rear exit from this office, we can suppose that the man I met is still within..."
Remy says, "right"
Jan asks, "Should we wait for him to return?"
Jim_Crowe exclaims, "Well, let's get this door open, then!"
[Crows-Nest] Jan asks, "Is this the bottom floor of the building?"
[7thsea] Jan asks, "Is this the bottom floor of the building?"
[7thsea] Remy says, "I hope for Jim's sake"

Jan asks, "Perhaps one of us could slip out that broken window -- odd, I don't remember it being broken earlier... -- and look to see if there's any window or other entrace to these rooms?"
Remy asks (of Jim), "we might be able to knock it down, but what then?"
Remy goes to look out the window.
Remy sticks his head out, and peers at the wall next to the office.
Jim_Crowe of course has Nothing to do with the broken window......
Jim_Crowe says, "We could try to jimmy the latch ..."
Jim_Crowe takes out his knife and tries to slide the point into the door jamb.
Jan says, "Mmm."

Ender a librarian approaches, muttering, and starts reshelving the fallen books.  Time to get moving.
Ender says (to Remy), "Another wall of the building juts out between the window and the office - looks like the inner door might lead to another wing."
Remy says (to Jan), "no window I can see"
Ender asks, "ALso, are you letting the librarian see you, or slipping back into the shelves as she comes?"
Jim_Crowe wonders if the librarian has the key.
Remy dodges to hide form the librarian.
Jan is slipping back.

Remy opens the door and slips into the hallway.
Jan slips out as well, looking both ways.
Remy stage-whispers, "That door was open earlier."

Remy examines the doors, and heads for the stairs.

Jan tries the door.
Ender says, "It opens."

Jan looks around to figure out what was being done in here recently.
Ender says, "Paperwork."
Jan looks at the map.

Jim_Crowe looks through the other door on the right.
Remy asks, "If I may ask, why were you being held here?"
[7thsea] Jan says, "I'm trying to see if the door leads into Anselme's office."
Lisanne looks at Francois, who is unconscious and snoring.
Lisanne says, "He was so brave to run in like that..."
Remy says, "He'll be fine.  Well, as fine as he ever was."
Lisanne says, "...but also so stupid."
[7thsea] Remy says, "grr"
Remy says, "A sad fault of his."
Ender arrives, looking for booty.
[7thsea] Remy asks, "did you get my thanks?"
[7thsea] Remy says, "if not, i repeat"
[7thsea] Ender asks (of Remy), "Mm?"
Remy says (to Girl), "Thank you for the warning, I wish I could have stopped my friend here."
Remy thinks about booting Franc in the head, but resists the urge.  There's a lady present.
Ender says (to Jan), "The door does lead into Anselme's office.  It's empty now."
Jan says (to Remy, in Vesten), "Ask her about the man who was in this office earlier."
Ender says, "Also, all the papers that were spread out on the table are gone."
Remy says (to Jan), "Of course"
Remy asks (of Liselle), "We are looking for Father Anselme.  This was his office.  Do you know what happened to him?"
Jan checks the outer door of the office, to see of it's unlocked now.
Remy says (to Jan), "check Hugo there for the key."
Lisanne exclaims (at Remy), "I don't know!  I came here to ask for his help, but those brutes - they were here first!"
Remy says (to Lisanne), "Horrible."
[7thsea] Jan says (to Remy), "I meant the Inquisitor, not Anselme."
[7thsea] Remy says, "well, be more specific"
Remy says, "If I can help you in any way, I shall."
Jim_Crowe searches Bruno.
[7thsea] Jan says, "As far as Jan knows, Anselme hasn't been in this office for an indeterminate period of time."
Remy asks, "Do you know where the Inquisitor went?"
Jan searches the office.
Lisanne looks at the body of the stocky man. "This one, Bruno - he was the worst. He kept telling me if I didn't tell them what they wanted to know I would go to Legion."  Sho shudders.
Remy asks, "What did they want to know?"
Remy says, "If it's personal, say so, and I shall not ask again."
Lisanne says, "I'll tell you all about it, but not here... It's not safe."
Remy says, "of course."
[7thsea] Jan asks, "Is the outer office door locked?"
Remy says, "We should leave soon."
Remy asks, "Which way did the Inquisitor leave?"
Ender says (to Jan), "All the drawers are empty, except for a bible."
Jan flips through the bible.
[7thsea] Remy asks, "can Jan read?"
[7thsea] Jan says, "No."
Ender says, "There are some knickknacks on the shelves, and framed paintings on the wall - landscapes, not very good."
[7thsea] Remy asks, "looking for the pretty pictures?"
[7thsea] Jan says, "But he could see if there were any papers tucked in the pages, or any notes int he margins."
[7thsea] Remy says, "true"
Ender says (to Jan), "No papers, no marginalia.  Some passages are underlined."
[7thsea] Ender says (to Jan), "Roll luck."

[7thsea] Ender says, "Wait!  There's a note - one of the illuminated pages has notes down the side."

[7thsea] Jan exclaims, "Your Bible is glowing blue!"
[7thsea] Remy says, "hee hee"
Jan pulls Jim over. "What's this say?"
Ender says, "It's in Thean."
Ender says, "Anyway, the only other thing of interest about the room is that there are gaps on the shelves, as if some of the knickknacks have been taken."
Jim_Crowe says, "I don't know."
Jan frowns. "Is it in a different language?"
Jim_Crowe nods.
Ender says, "It's now been an hour and a quarter since you left the ship."
Remy says (to Jan,Jim), "We need to get moving."
Jim_Crowe says, "hm."
Remy says, "bring that with us, if you must study it."
Jan says (to Remy), "I was just wondering if anyone could read it, but Jim doesn't know what language it is."
Jan shrugs.
Jim_Crowe asks (of Lisanne), "(in Avalon, quite forgetting the language barrier) I say, you wouldn't happen to know a Mr Hal Huygens, would you?"
Remy says, "Bring it with, perhaps we can find someone to help."
Jan checks the outer door again.
[7thsea] Ender goes for drink.
[7thsea] Ender says, "When you're ready..."
[7thsea] Jan sighs.
[7thsea] Jan asks, "Did I miss an answer to this question earlier?"
Lisanne leads you to a side exit, watching carefully for guards.  When your outside she leads you through the streets to a small shop, and locks you all in.
[7thsea] Remy says, "nice"
[7thsea] Jan blinks.
Remy says (to Lisanne), "Thank you for the help, m'dear."
[7thsea] Ender says, "Oh, sorry: it's not locked anymore."
Remy says, "If we'd followed these two, we'd doubtless have runinto more of those bruisers."
[7thsea] Jan says (to Ender), "A bit late now, I think :)"
[7thsea] Ender says, "Everyone else has left the scene."
[7thsea] Ender says, "Back in a sec."
[7thsea] Jan asks, "Who has left what scene?"
Jan looks around the shop.
[7thsea] Jan says, "(Has Lisanne taken us prisoer?)"
[7thsea] Remy says, "mm, prisoner of love, maybe"
[7thsea] Remy says, "er, wait, that's just me"
[7thsea] Jan asks, "Also, how old is she?"
[7thsea] Jan says, "She's 13, I bet."
[7thsea] Remy says, "hee"
[7thsea] Eolo laughs a lot.
[7thsea] Jan asks, "Should we be RPing or something?"
[7thsea] Remy says, "well, my RPing will be talking to the girl"

Ender disappears through an invisible gap in the MUD. You think you may have heard the sounds of chatting before the gap closed again.
Ender arrives, looking for booty.
Lisanne has disconnected.
[7thsea] Remy says, "I wanna hear her story"
[7thsea] Jan says, "And mine, figuring out where we are. Unless she speaks Cymru or Vesten."
Lisanne has connected.
[7thsea] Ender says, "Grr."
[7thsea] Ender says, "Ok..."
Remy asks (of Lisanne), "So, is there anything you can tell us about father Anselme?"
Ender says, "You're in a small shop - a drapier's - with living quarters above the shop."
[7thsea] Remy asks (of ender), "oh, how old is she?"
Lisanne asks, "First - it was you I heard, talking to Valdemort earlier, no?"
Remy says, "My friends here, yes."
[7thsea] Jan says (to Ender), "Say 13. Say 13."
[7thsea] Remy says, "hee hee"
[7thsea] Ender says, "About 18-20."
[7thsea] Remy says, "woo hoo"
[7thsea] Jan says, "Drat. Still way too young for me, though."
[7thsea] Remy is 21.  He wins.
[7thsea] Jim_Crowe says, "hah, 20."
Lisanne asks, "Then, you were only there on the orders of your Captain?  You don't - know Father Anselme yourself?"
[7thsea] Remy says, "anyway, back to story"
Jan looks around the shop, as he can't understand a word of this anyway.
Lisanne looks torn.
[7thsea] Jan says, "Remy doesn't even know the Captain, for that matter."
Remy asks (of Jan), "hadn't you met the Father before?"
Jim_Crowe says (to Remy), "Ask her if she knows Hal Huygens."
Jan says (to Remy), "I have, yes."
Remy says (to Jim), "very well"
Remy passes on the questions.
Jan asks (of Remy), "She doesn't speak Vesten or Cymru, does she?"
Ender says (to Jan), "Front room is a display area.  In the back are stores with bolts of cloth, etc."
Remy says (to Lisanne), "My friends here have.  I've sort of been drawn into this since this morning."
Remy says (to Jan), "Doesn't appear so.  I will do my best to translate everyone's comments back and forth."
Ender says, "You're in the back room.  There's a stairway leading up to a living area, but she hasn't showed you up their yet."
[7thsea] Remy says, "so, just pretend I parrot everything in the right langauge"
[7thsea] Jan says (to Remy), "Wouldn't want to actually ask, and take the risk that she might be able to talk with someone other than you :)"
[7thsea] Remy says, "hee hee"
[7thsea] Lisanne says, "Right.  About Hal..."
Lisanne asks, "Hal Huygens?  I don't know the name...  Is it Vendel?"
Remy asks (of Lisanne), "do you speak Vesten or Cymru by any chance?"
Jim_Crowe describes Hal
Lisanne shakes her head.
Remy asks (of Jim), "Who is this Huygens fellow?"
Remy says, "You never have told me what this is all about."
Lisanne says (to Jim), "Yes!  He came to visit my father a few days ago.  They went out together, but my father came back alone - I haven't seen the man since."
[7thsea] Remy says, "yay, plot twist"
Jim_Crowe says (to Remy), "he had an errand, and was late coming back. So the captain told us to take a note to Anselme, I suppose because it had something to do with Hal's errand."
Jan asks (of Lisanne), "Your father is the owner of this shop?"
Remy says, "Ah"
Lisanne says (to Remy), "Well... I want to think I can trust you, but my father has told me for so long to trust nobody."
Lisanne nods at Jan.
Remy asks (of Lisanne), "Understandable.  Could we talk to him about M. Nuygens?"
[7thsea] Remy says, "er, H, damn"
Jan says (to Lisanne), "Would it be possible for us to speak with him? he might know where Hal is.""
Lisanne says (to Jim), "That makes sense.  I think Anselme may have introduced him to my father."
Lisanne looks at Jan and starts to sob again.
Jan says, "I am sorry. I didn't realize."
Remy hands Lisanne his handkerchief.
Remy asks (of Lisanne), "Where is your father?"
Lisanne says, "I ... they took him away!  The Inquisition!  Dragged him out of his bed last night... that's why I went to Father Anselme this morning."
[Crows-Nest] inky says, "her father .. and the X-files!"
Remy says, "As I suspected."
Remy says (to Jan,Jim), "We must stop this"
Jan asks, "And that's when you met Valdemorte?"
Lisanne looks coldly at Remy.  "What a callous thing to say!"
Lisanne says, "Yes.  They wanted me to tell them who my father's friends were, who he met with - said they wanted them all."
Remy says (to Lisanne), "I'm sorry.  The Inquisition seems to be trampling on this fair city."
Jan says, "Oh my."
Remy says (to Lisanne), "I meant no disrespect to your father."
[Crows-Nest] Lisanne says, "Editted that from "said they had to catch them all" at the last second."
Jan says, "This bodes ill."
Remy asks, "Do you know where they are keeping their prisoners?"
Lisanne exclaims (at Jan), "And you - you told them the name of your ship, and the name of the man you were seeking!  Now you may have put them in danger as well!"
Jan says (in Cymru), "If we presume that it was the Inquisition who took Hal, I may have inadvertantly endangered our ship -- our captain, the officers, the crew, when I mentioned her name."
Jim_Crowe says, "We'll have to go back to the ship."
[7thsea] Jan says, "Timing."
[7thsea] Remy says, "drat, you picked a language I don't know."
Jan says (to Lisanne), "Mmm."
Lisanne (to remy) shakes her head.  "I was hoping Anselme would help me find it."
Remy says, "They would be secretive about it."
Remy says (to jan), "We should have questioned Hugo when we had the chance, although I doubt he would have told us much."
Jan says, "Perhaps we should return to our ship."
Remy says (to Jan), "Yes, you should."
Remy says, "You should warn your captain"
Jan asks, "Will you join us, or will you... two stay here?"
Lisanne asks (of Remy), "Bruno, you mean?"
Remy says (to Lisanne), "I didn't have much chance to catch his name in conversation"
Remy says (to Jan), "I fear we are all in danger from the Inquisition"
Jan nods.
Remy says (to Jan), "We should probably stick together."
[7thsea] Lisanne says, "That's why I made sure she referred to him by name as soon as the fight was over..."
[7thsea] Remy says, "heh"
Jan tries the door. "Good lass, could you unlock this for a moment?"
[7thsea] Remy says, "I lose"
Lisanne says, "Of course."  She does so.
Remy asks (of Lisanne), "Will you stay with us, for your safety?"
Remy asks (of Lisanne), "Or will you be safer here?"
Jan sets out to seek the ship.
Lisanne says, "Yes - I suppose that would be best."
[7thsea] Remy asks, "er, which?"
Lisanne takes a last, forlorn look around the shop, and follows.
Remy heads back to the docks, with Jim and Jan and Lisanne.

Remy says (to jan), "That building, third floor."
Remy moves so that Lisanne is on the inside of the group, with Jan and Jim flanking her, and he bringing up the rear.
[Crows-Nest] (from Ender) Francois charges at the building.
Jan doesn't look now, but does look a bit later, trying to do so subtly.
Remy casually watches behind them as they walk.
[Crows-Nest] Remy says, "hee hee"
Ender says (to Jan), "roll stealth"

Remy says (to jan), "No, let's hurry back to your ship."
Jim_Crowe says, "Sooner we get to the ship, the better."
Remy says (to Jan), "Once we have your fellow sailors, we can worry about taking the offensive."
Jan trudges.

Ender says, "Fairly expertly, too - there are several of them, trading places to keep it from being obvious."
[7thsea] Remy asks, "also, I have Shadowing.  Does that help me spot them?"
[7thsea] Remy asks, "or help us lose them?"
[7thsea] Jan says, "I have Stealth, but we're a group."
[7thsea] Ender says (to remy), "One at a time, but every once in a while someone will disappear and another will take his place.  There are at least 3, maybe more."
[7thsea] Jan says, "Also, Sprinting, if it comes to that :)"
[7thsea] Remy says, "heh"
[7thsea] Remy says, "right"
[7thsea] Remy says, "i'd really like to try and shake them"

Jan picks up the pace.

Jan whispers, "If we split up, we can lose them more easily."
[7thsea] Ender asks, "Is anyone else logging, BTW?"
[7thsea] Jan stage-whispered that.
[7thsea] Jan says, "Perry."

[7thsea] Ender says, "Cause my log is full of holes - oh, good."
Remy stage-whispers (to jan), "true, but Lisanne and I don't know your ship."
Jan nods.
[7thsea] Jan says, "And we wouldn't want Remy and Lisanne to get separated."
Remy stage-whispers, "I think we should hurry up.  We're almost to the docks.
[7thsea] Remy ignores that.
Jan stage-whispers, "The seem to be keeping up with us just fine, unfortunately."
Jim_Crowe walks more quickly.
Ender says, "Gonna try and lose em?  Or just head straight there."
Jan does as well, leading around a side-route.
Ender asks, "?"
Remy stage-whispers, "Yes, but they already know about your ship.  They're likely watching it already."
[7thsea] Remy says, "lose 'em"
[7thsea] Jan says, "Trying to lose them, I thought."
Ender says, "Ok.  Roll Wits+Street Navigation"
[7thsea] Remy asks, "all of us, or just one?"

Remy leads them down several odd roads, through a farmer's market, into a public bath, and by a long and circuitous route back to the docks.
Ender says, "You end up crouched behind a stock of barrels peering at the Mary II's berth."
[7thsea] Jan says, "Er."
[7thsea] Remy says, "eh, whichever"
[7thsea] Jan asks, "Which side of the public bath did we happen to walk through, out of curiosity?"
Remy asks (of Jan), "Anything wrong with her?"
[7thsea] Ender says (to REmy), "You could have done both..."
[7thsea] Remy asks (of jan), "the bit you don't need to strip for, why?"
Ender asks (of Remy), "Apart from the squad of soldiers guarding the gangplank, you mean?"
[7thsea] Jan says, "I'm just wondering, as walking through the ladies' side would have gotten us more attention than we're looking for :)"
Remy looks to see if he can spot any spotters for the....right
