Raelynn Teresa DuVille

Raelynn (Ray to her father, Lynna to her mother) grew up in in Charouse to a
Montaigne father and an Avalon mother. Her father is a very prosperous
merchant and had established himself as a wealthy man with very powerful
friends and connections. As a result, Raelynn was raised surrounded by
servants and tutors, sent to a finishing school to gain the necessary talents
that would allow her to socialize with nobility. Her father decided that as he
didn't have a son, Raelynn would have the same instruction a son would have
received, and made sure she was educated in the sciences and languages by a
phalanx of tutors.

Raelynn takes after her mother, being very small (4'7") and light, very dainty
looking and light on her feet. Her slight figure makes her an excellent dancer
as well as being very quick. Her unusual tutoring ensured some instruction in
athletic sports, but with her size, she would never be particularly strong.
Like Elaine (her mother), Raelynn has long wavy black hair and very fine
features. Her eyes are her most distinguishing feature, being violet in color,
with very fine eyebrows arching upward, and long sooty lashes fringing her
large eyes. 

Elaine contributed to Raelynn's education teaching her the Avalon magic, of
Glamor. Raelynn learned to control her powers at a very young age and enjoyed
playing little pranks around the household. Raelynn learned her religion and
magic at her mother's knee. Her father didn't understand his wife's and
daughter's devotions, but did not interfere, especially as Raelynn accepted
her magical heritage along with her faith. Along with Glamor, Elaine
introduced Raelynn to Sophia's Daughters, a society of like minded women who
taught Raelynn the subtle tricks and skills that are essential to a lady's
self-defense.

Nicholas was an unusual father, as he insisted on teaching his daughter his
magic, Porte, along with keeping up with her education. Raelynn learned Porte
once she finished her lady's education, but never quite got over her
squeamishness with shedding her own blood, although she found the knack quite
handy, but less fun.
