GM has connected.
GM asks, "Oh, are we having a game tonight?"

Giancarlo says, "yay GM"
[vodacce] Amber exclaims, "Whoohooo! GM!"
GM says, "I apologize for my lateness. My tutee was a half-hour late tonight."
GM says, "And in the nature of such things the lateness spread downstream."
[vodacce] GM asks, "Everyone paying attention to this window again?"
[vodacce] Giancarlo exclaims, "Si!"
[vodacce] Amber says, "ayup."
[Crows-Nest] RogerCarbol continues to be distracted by >GIVE HEAD
[vodacce] Wilson says, "Aye, cap'n."
[vodacce] Niccolo nods.
[vodacce] Chiara says, "yes"
[vodacce] GM asks, "Any XPenditures before we begin?"
[vodacce] Chiara says, "NO SINCE I AM DED"
[vodacce] Amber asks, "I took knife throwing - does that affect my TN for my boot-knives?"
[vodacce] GM says, "Not in the catching, but will in the throwing"
[vodacce] GM says, "unless you contrive to have your boot knives go flying straight from boot to person."
[vodacce] Giancarlo says, "I'll raise my Resurrection to 2."
[vodacce] GM says, "Here we go, then."
GM says, "When we last saw #vodacce, everyone but Chiara was busy littering the back lawn with dead people."
[vodacce] Wilson says, "Yes! I raise Footwork to 4."
[vodacce] Niccolo exclaims, "Hey, I'm no litterbug!"
[vodacce] GM says (to Wilson), "Seriously? If so, I'll note it."
[vodacce] Wilson says, "Yup. 8 XP, right? I have exactly enough."
Niccolo says, "Someone should probably take care of these... gentlemen."
Venzi shrugs.
Niccolo says, "But someone else should check on Chiara, on the chance that Dixon may be trouble."
Venzi asks, "do we know where she is?"
[vodacce] GM says, "So noted. And you have 3 serious wounds"
Niccolo looks to Amber, "I think Amber know where she was last seen."
[vodacce] Wilson nods.	[interludes] GM has removed Venzi from the channel.
	[interludes] GM has added Chiara to the channel.
	[interludes] Chiara says, "woohoo"
	[interludes] GM asks, "Are you still interested in wandering off and making life hard for everyone else?"
	[interludes] Chiara says, "yes"
	[interludes] Chiara says, "but I'd like to send my message-spider first, if I may"
	[interludes] Chiara says, "ISTR there being a word limit on its use"
Amber says, "She was going to talk to Sir Guy."
Venzi asks, "right, and where is he?"
[vodacce] Amber says, "Ellric is extremely fussy this evening, so Lucian or I may disappear unexpectedly."	[interludes] GM says, "fifteen words or less, and one sentence."
[vodacce] Amber exclaims, "Also, there's lightning, so possible power outages. Whee!"
[vodacce] GM exclaims, "exciting!"	[interludes] Chiara says, "hmm"
Giancarlo searches Battista for incriminating documents and/or clues.
Niccolo says, "On the gri-- the third hand, Wilson looks a bit cut up. It might be sensible to find a doctor. Perhaps the one who saw to Ridolpho earlier."
Amber says, "That, I do not know, though I might start looking with the Avalon embassy."
GM says (to Giancarlo), "Perception"
Wilson says, "Sir Guy has a room in the house."
Wilson says, "I think that's where Chiara was off to."

Niccolo starts toward the house. "Well, we won't find him out here."
Venzi says, "and on the fourth hand (I think we are presupposing another person by now) somebody should talk to Fortunato about the identities of the men who attacked us in the city"
Venzi says, "right"	[interludes] Chiara thinks for a minute, then gives her spider this message for Wilson:
[vodacce] GM says, "For general information, since this is something you'd know: there's no general Avalon embassy, though Sir Guy has a house in town. For the duration of the party he has a room."
Venzi follows Niccolo.
Amber says (to Wilson), "You're quite chatty for an almost dead guy."
Wilson says, "Someone should go check on Abrielle, as she is a prime suspect Livio's murder."	[interludes] Chiara | ABRIELLE HAS ENEMIES, CARINNA SABATINO,

GM says (to Giancarlo), "He has a rather incriminating hole in his side."
Wilson says (to Amber), "We Avalonians are hearty."
Giancarlo grunts in exasperation.
GM says (to Giancarlo), "He also has a moderate amount of money on him, bloodstained now."
Giancarlo examines the money.
[vodacce] GM asks, "I never can remember. What's Vodaccean money?"
Niccolo heads for the part of the house where the guest rooms are.
[vodacce] Venzi asks, "senators?"
[vodacce] Niccolo says, "Senators and something."
[vodacce] Venzi says, "and seats, I think"
[vodacce] Giancarlo says, "Oh, never mind then. I was hoping they'd be Avalon pounds."
[vodacce] Venzi says, "it is not a very good name"
[vodacce] Venzi says, "hee hee"
[vodacce] Niccolo asks, "I think a guilder's about half a senator, right?"
GM says (to Giancarlo), "Standard senators."
[vodacce] GM says, "Also, to be perfectly clear: y'all are leaving Battista on the lawn."
[vodacce] Niccolo says, "I thought Giancarlo was with him."
[vodacce] Chiara says, "so untidy"
[vodacce] Venzi asks, "what, like he's going to walk away?"
[vodacce] Niccolo says, "And possible Wilson, Amber."
Giancarlo says, "Someone's got to stay here and wait for Fortunato."	[interludes] GM says, "You pass the spider the message in ways subtle and tricksy. It skitters away."
Wilson says, "I could go talk to Fortunato."
Niccolo calls back, "Ah, good. Let us know later what he says."
[vodacce] GM says (to Venzi), "True. Just wondering how this was going to go down with the guards."
Wilson says, "I'd prefer, uh, that someone go with me."	[interludes] Chiara checks her hair in the mirror, then departs in search of Carinna.
Giancarlo says (to Wilson), "you look pretty cut up. Fortunato would probably be a bit more sympathetic hearing the story from you."
[vodacce] Venzi says (to GM), "they should be used to it by now"
Wilson says (to Giancarlo), "Right."
[vodacce] GM says, "So you are splitting the party again."
[vodacce] GM says, "I need to know who is going where."
[vodacce] Niccolo asks, "Isn't it always the way?"
Amber says, "I nominate Venzi to go with Wilson. I need to find Chiarra, if there's a chance she may be in danger."
[vodacce] GM says, "I clearly haven't discouraged it enough."
Giancarlo says (to Wilson), "So you stay here. Fortunato should be here any minute now."
[vodacce] GM says, "Perhaps those hell dogs are called for."
[vodacce] Niccolo says, "Starting us out at three separate tables may have given us the wrong ideas."
[vodacce] Venzi says, "hee hee"	[interludes] GM asks, "I assume you're going to find one of the ubiquitous servants?"
	[interludes] Chiara says, "sure"
Venzi says (to Amber), "ok, if you are going to ensure Chiara is safe, I will go with Wilson to the doctor"	[interludes] GM exclaims, "Look, there's one!"
	[interludes] Chiara flags down Everpresent_servant_3
	[interludes] Chiara says, "heehee"
	[interludes] Servant asks, "Senora?"
Venzi says, "and along the way we can let the guards know about the bodies"	[interludes] Chiara asks (of Convenient_Servant), "Would you know the whereabouts of Signorina Carinna?"
Wilson says, "Let's meet up again as soon as possible."
Venzi asks, "where?"
Wilson says, "If we get done first, we'll go to Sir Guy's place."	[interludes] Servant says, "Si. She has just returned from riding."
[vodacce] Niccolo says, "(Also, while the others are discussing, I am still on my way inside. Feel free to catch up...)"
Wilson asks, "If you guys do, maybe our rooms?"
Amber says, "I'm going to Sir Guy's room, and see if I can't find either him or Danel.."	[interludes] Servant says, "If you will follow me, please."
	[interludes] Chiara follows.
[vodacce] Niccolo says, "(Fortunato won't need me -- *I* didn't shoot or cut up anyone...)"
Amber asks, "Anyone care to come with me?"
Giancarlo says (to Venzi), "Pfft. Wilson isn't leaving the scene. He's got to be here when the guards come."
Wilson says (to Gian), "I'm going to the guardhouse."
Venzi says (to Giancarlo), "we appear to be leaving the scene right now"	[interludes] GM says, "The servant leads you to Carinna's room."
Venzi says (to Giancarlo), "but never fear, Fortunato will be informed"	[interludes] Servant knocks.
Wilson says (to Gian), "We'll be back shortly."
Amber says, "And I bet they have an in-house physician at Fortunato's guard house."
Giancarlo says, "It's not a question of whether or not he'll be informed."
Wilson winces.
Venzi says (to Giancarlo), "if you have a spare moment, you could look for Rocca, perhaps"	[interludes] Carinna says (from within), "Yes?"
Giancarlo says, "It's a question of what he'll find when he comes to investigate."
[vodacce] Wilson asks, "Rocca?"
Amber asks, "Anyone coming with me?"	[interludes] Servant suddenly looks nervous. She says (sotto voce), "Um, what is your name?"
	[interludes] Chiara says (to Servant), "(Chiara Venterrini, asking a word with her, if she does not mind.)"
Venzi says (to Wilson), "Rocca is Fortunato's quartermaster, and apparently the one who purchased the swords that turned up in the river"
Giancarlo says, "If ALL of you are heading off, then it falls to me to stay here."
[vodacce] Wilson says, "Oh--the guy who bought the swords."	[interludes] Servant smiles gratefully. "Chiara Venterrini asks to speak with you."
Venzi says (to Amber), "Niccolo is -- if you hurry, you can catch him"	[interludes2] GM has added Niccolo to the channel.
Giancarlo says, "Given that I'm not exactly Fortunato's favourite guest right now, I wouldn't give a fig for YOUR chances once he's through with me."
Venzi laughs.	[interludes] Carinna exclaims, "Come!"
Venzi says, "he's always seemed charmed to see me in the past"
Amber sprints off after Nicollo.	[interludes2] GM says, "It's not hard to find one."
	[interludes] Chiara enters the room, thanking the servant.
Venzi says this over his shoulder as he walks off with Wilson.

	[interludes2] Niccolo asks (of Servant), "Could you tell me which room is Sir Guy's?"
Giancarlo rolls his eyes and shakes his head, and settles down to wait.	[interludes] GM says, "Carinna is still partially dressed in her riding outfit, and her hair is rather windblown."
Venzi keeps an eye out for a stray guard or two as they look for the doctor	[interludes2] Servant asks, "Certainly -- eh?"
	[interludes2] GM has added Amber to the channel.
	[interludes] Chiara says (to Carinna), "My apologies for bursting in on you at such a time."
[vodacce] Wilson says (to Venzi), "I was headed straight for the guardhouse, actually."	[interludes2] GM says, "Amber reaches you as the Servant begins talking."
	[interludes] Chiara tries not to look conscious of the fact that her own hair is in perfect order.
[vodacce] Venzi says, "oh, ok"	[interludes2] Servant asks (of Amber), "May I help you?"
	[interludes2] Amber says, "We're looking for Sir Guy."
[vodacce] Wilson says, "So: Gian with the body(s), Venzi and I to Fortunato, Amber after Niccolo after Sir Guy."	[interludes] Carinna says, "I'm afraid my schedule today is terribly busy -- it is either entertain you in this state or not at all."
	[interludes] Chiara says, "Oh-- I don't mind, of course; you're doing me the favor in seeing me."
[vodacce] GM says, "So while Gian looks after Jesse, you two can go to Fortunato in the lounge."	[interludes] Carinna runs a brush through her entirely too large mass of thick black hair.
[vodacce] Wilson asks, "Lounge?"	[interludes2] Amber says (to Servant), "Do you know where we might find him? Its rather important."
	[interludes] Chiara asks (of Carinna), "Would you like a hand with that?"
	[interludes] Carinna says, "Oh! Yes, that would be lovely."
	[interludes] Carinna sits and presents her back to Chiara, careful to watch her in the mirror in front of her.
	[interludes2] Servant says, "Ayes, that shouldn't be a problem."
	[interludes] Chiara takes over the brush and begins to brush Carinna's hair out quite gently.
	[interludes2] Servant says, "Last I heard he was in his room. This way, please."
	[interludes2] Niccolo says, "Thank you."
[vodacce] GM says, "The not-#interlude channel."	[interludes2] Niccolo follows.
[vodacce] Wilson says, "Oh, right."	[interludes] Carinna asks, "I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you. Have you been here long?"
Wilson knocks on the guardhouse door.
Venzi says, "ah, here we are again"	[interludes] Chiara says, "I am one of the guests -- only a few days, though admittedly it seems (she laughs gently) like a fairly long time."
Giancarlo examines the purse the money is in, and counts the money.	[interludes2] GM says, "As you get close to what you imagine is Sir Guy's room, you hear shouting."
Venzi says, "it seems like I am constantly visiting this place -- perhaps I should ask for my own entrnace"	[interludes] Chiara says (to Carinna), "I would not have presumed, but I understand that you are more inclined to speak to people like me than some..."
	[interludes2] Man exclaims, "I must see him, dammit!"
Guard says, "Yeah -- oh, no. You two."
Wilson exclaims, "I'm back!"	[interludes] Carinna smiles ruefully. "Perhaps more so than my father would like."
[Crows-Nest] (from Niccolo) Venzi says, "We just killed a man. Is this where we turn ourselves in?"
Wilson asks, "And, uh, rather worse for the wear. Can I speak to Fortunato, please?"	[interludes] Carinna says, "Certainy more Stefani prefers."
	[interludes] Chiara brushes more, frowning slightly.
	[interludes] Guard says, "He's not in, I'm telling you."
	[interludes] Chiara says (to Guard), "GET YOUR OWN SCENE"
	[interludes2] Guard says, "He's not in, I'm telling you."
Chiara has disconnected.	[interludes] Guard says, "Sorry, ladies."
[Crows-Nest] Giancarlo exclaims, "Eek. He killed her! The bastard!"
Chiara has connected.
Venzi says (to Guard), "we are anxious to do our duty as guests and report any dead bodies that may have come to our attention"
[vodacce] Chiara says, "hrmf, oops"	[interludes] Chiara says, "(for reasons unclear, random disconnect)"
Man exclaims, "He *must* see me! I'm only here for an hour more and then I must be gone!"	[interludes] Carinna says, "I wish this were not so, but..." She shrugs."
Venzi glances over at man
[vodacce] Wilson asks, "Man==channel, or someone by guardhouse?"	[interludes2] Man exclaims, "He *must* see me! I'm only here for an hour more and then I must be gone!"
[vodacce] Guard says, "Different channel, sorry. Losing track of threads."
Guard asks, "More dead bodies?"
[vodacce] Wilson says, "No prob."	[interludes2] Amber asks, "Can we see the man?"
Guard sighs theatrically. "You'll be wanting Fortunato then."	[interludes] Chiara nods. "I had heard something of this, I admit. And -- if it does not seem terribly presumptous -- I was concerned for you in all this mess."
[vodacce] Venzi says, "oh, whoops"
Venzi says, "absolutely"	[interludes2] Amber asks (of Man), "Can we see the man who is shouting?"
Guard opens the door and lets them in.	[interludes2] Guard says, "I can't help you, no matter how loud you shout."
Venzi proceeds to the well-known office	[interludes2] GM says, "As you come around the corner you see a guard talking to a man with extremely red hair."
	[interludes] Chiara says, "Sir Guy mentioned to me that you seemed, perhaps, not entirely happy."
	[interludes2] GM says, "And, er, what looks like a dress."
	[interludes] Carinna asks, "Oh?"
	[interludes] Carinna says, "Oh."
	[interludes] Chiara shrugs. "I don't know-- he's a man, and they do not always see very well. He could be wrong, I suppose?"
	[interludes2] Man exclaims, "Och, dammit, man, he knows me!"
Fortunato looks up.
Venzi knocks politely on Fortunato's door.	[interludes2] Amber says (to Guard), "(loudly) We're here to see Chiara. We understand she's here at the moment."
	[interludes2] Niccolo tries not to be partciularly inconspicuous, so as not to interrupt the conversation.
Fortunato says, "Theus preserve me."
Venzi says, "ah, hello again"
[vodacce] Chiara says, "heehee"
Venzi says, "I am sorry we cannot meet under happier circumstances"	[interludes] Carinna says, "Yes, well..."
Venzi says, "but I regret to inform you that some vagabonds out by the hedge maze have met with unfortunate accidents"
[Crows-Nest] Niccolo says, "Like a birthday party or a cheese tasting."
Wilson says, "Hi! I was attacked by a group of ruffians paid to kill me, but fortunately my bodyguard showed up in the nick of time with some other of my friends and fought them off."
Venzi says, "..right."	[interludes2] Guard says (to Amber), "Chiara? Like I was telling this man here there's no one in Signor Dixon's room."
Fortunato asks, "More dead?"
Venzi asks, "I don't suppose you know a 'Battista'?"
Fortunato says, "I should pay you to join up with the conspirators trying to murder Meander. You would work wonders."
Venzi says, "knew, I should say"
Wilson says, "One, at least--I think a couple others might just be unconscious."	[interludes2] Niccolo asks (of Guard), "And you were just about to open the door to show him?"
	[interludes2] Man exclaims, "You know Dixon? I'm trying to find him!"
Fortunato says, "Battista."
Fortunato thinks.
Venzi frowns. "I'm not sure what you're implying, sir. We were minding our own business perfectly peacefully when we were attacked without provocation."	[interludes] Chiara frowns again as she works out a particularly tangled knot, seeming glad of the excuse not to speak for a moment.
	[interludes2] Man says, "Och, my manners. I'm Argar McGargaragar."
	[interludes] Chiara says, "I don't mean to burst in on your confidence, but I was-- at one time-- friends with someone not very unlike you."
Venzi indicates Wilson's wounds. "And really he should be seeing a doctor, but he insisted on doing his duty and notifying you of this event (which, I hate to point it out, but seems to me like it should have been prevented by your guards)"	[interludes] Carinna is quiet, evidently thinking over the implications of your last statement.
Fortunato says (to Venzi), "I am implying that all around you people fall dead, or nearly so."	[interludes2] Amber says, "And I'm Amber. This is Niccolo."
[Crows-Nest] Niccolo asks, "Has the Heimlich maneuver been invented yet?"	[interludes] Chiara says, "She was much too intelligent, much too curious, to fit easily in the confines of the marriage chosen for her."
	[interludes2] Amber says, "Yes, we've met Sir Guy, but rather briefly."
Fortunato stands. "And you have proven adept at ending up in situations where my guards are not."	[interludes2] Guard says, "I knocked on the door, and no one answered."
Fortunato gestures to the two of you as he gathers Yet More Guards.
Venzi looks around.
Fortunato says (to Guard), "You, go get the doctor. Meet us near the hedge maze, and quick."
Venzi says, "certainly if I am attacked, or my employer is attacked, it is my duty to defend myself"	[interludes2] Niccolo asks (of Argar), "You're from... the Marches, yes?"
	[interludes] Chiara says, "Things could, I suppose, have ended badly for her, except that she found a way... around... the constraints that kept her trapped."
	[interludes] Carinna says, "I...imagine there are many in this situation."
Venzi says, "and as for the other claim, well, it is true that we wander around a fair amount, but it's such a pleasant estate we would hate to miss an inch of it"	[interludes2] Guard exclaims (at Niccolo), "Aye! But you don't sound like yer from Avalon!"
	[interludes] Chiara says (to Carinna), "A great many."
Fortunato leads you on to the maze. "I am impressed by how often you or your comrades are attacked."	[interludes2] Amber says (to guard), "Well, we could knock a bit harder."
Wilson says, "Interestingly, this group was only told about me."	[interludes] Carinna asks, "I ask only from curiosity, mind, but: a way around?"
Venzi asks, "it seems to suggest that we are close to something -- but what?"	[interludes2] Guard says, "(that last was from Argar)"
	[interludes2] Niccolo smiles, shaking his head. "No, but I've heard the accent before. Are you here for the ball this evening?"
	[interludes2] Guard rolls his eyes, then knocks very firmly several times.
	[interludes] Chiara says, "For instance--" and she seems to be very much engaged in the untangling business-- "she found that she wished to learn to read."
	[interludes2] Amber asks (of Guard), "If he is not here, do you know where he might be?"
	[interludes] Argar says, "Och, no. I'm on my way south and decided to stop in and see Guy and John."
	[interludes2] Argar says, "Och, no. I'm on my way south and decided to stop in and see Guy and John."
	[interludes] Chiara blinks at Argar
Fortunato arrives at the maze, the dead people, and Giancarlo.
Venzi asks, "told how, in fact? by name? or by description?"	[interludes] GM says, "(I'm having much #interlude crossover tonight, sorry.)"
Giancarlo stands.
Fortunato says, "Ah, good. And Giancarlo."	[interludes] Chiara says, "(s'ok, I just couldn't place it in the main scene, hence got confused)"
	[interludes2] Amber says (to Argar), "John? I don't believe I have met him."
	[interludes] Chiara says, "(and was afraid we were about ot be overheard)"
Venzi says, "it is just like old times, sir"
Wilson thinks.	[interludes2] Niccolo asks, "Would that be his bodyguard's name?"
	[interludes2] Argar exclaims, "His right-hand man!"
Venzi says, "or at least like this morning"
Giancarlo says (to Wilson), "I told you you'd have been better off staying put."
Venzi thinks. "Hmm, unless that was Niccolo."
Fortunato says, "Mmmyes, this day continues to go on for a long time."	[interludes] Chiara says (to Carinna), "It gave her a discreet way to indulge her curiosity, without being noticed too much"
	[interludes] Chiara says, "and there were those who were willing to teach her."
	[interludes2] Niccolo asks, "About... <describes Danel>?"
	[interludes] Carinna says, "Ah."
Venzi says, "it seems to have gone on for several weeks, in fact"	[interludes2] Argar says, "Are ye daft? John's a slight fair-haired man, good with numbers but thin as a reed."
	[interludes] Chiara says, "I do not know-- you seem resourceful, and perhaps have found your own ways around the ties that hold you"
	[interludes] Carinna says, "Reading is so helpful? As you can imagine, I do not know how."
	[interludes] Carinna watches Chiara's eyes as she says this.
	[interludes] Chiara looks as reassuring and trustworthy as she is able.
Fortunato looks at Battista.	[interludes] Chiara says, "It opens up the world, my lady."
	[interludes2] Amber asks (of Argar), "(aka GM) Is he describing Livio?"
Venzi says, "we couldn't get much out of him before he passed on"
Fortunato asks (of Wilson), "You didn't cause this terrible great wound in his side, did you?"	[interludes2] GM says (to Amber), "He's not. You don't recognize the description."
	[interludes2] Niccolo says, "Hmm. Interesting. I don't think I've seen him, but he's probably around someplace."
Wilson says, "He was told I was a scientist, but I don't think he said any more."	[interludes] Chiara says, "Much that you might wish to know about foreign countries, their customs, their histories... whatever entertains you. Or plays, if you prefer that sort of thing, and poetry..."
	[interludes2] Argar grimaces. "I have to go on or I'll not make my destination tonight."
[vodacce] Wilson says, "Slow typing--Ellric."	[interludes2] Argar asks, "If you see Guy, let him know I stopped by?"
Venzi asks (of Wilson), "so could he, perhaps, have been looking for Livio?"	[interludes] Carinna says, "I see."
	[interludes2] Amber says (to Argar), "We will do that. Might we mention what bussiness you had? He might want to look you up."
	[interludes] Carinna says, "But there are punishments for such things."

Fortunato kneels and looks at Battista closely. "Did you search him?"	[interludes] Chiara asks, "Then you have found the route for yourself?"

Fortunato stands up. "I'll have to talk to these unconscious men. Tell me what happened from the beginning."
Fortunato asks (of Venzi), "Yes. Can you tell me what happened here?"	[interludes2] Niccolo says, "I didn't want to say this in front of the guard, but it's possible Sir Guy's room may have an outside window. If there's really no one in the room, it may be worth... investigating."

	[interludes2] Amber says, "And Chiara is clever enough to avoid getting tied up, I think. I don't know how she is with knots, though . . . . (more thinking)."

Wilson watches the spider run off through the grass.

Wilson says, "Maybe I don't need to visit the contessa after all."

Giancarlo says, "Of course. I am a stranger here, after all, and ... certainly not a close family friend with whom more liberties may be taken."
	[interludes] Abrielle says, "Niccolo is known to be a source of information. I am almost certain he has been employed by Mancari to ferret out more information about us."

	[interludes] Abrielle says, "Mancari is honorable, in his own way. I do not think he would take such drastic measures."

Carinna says, "He is very friendly -- he *is* head of the guild. And as head of the guild he often has business with my father at court."
[vodacce] Niccolo says, "Well. He did get killed the next day. But we can probably assume it's unrelated."	[interludes] Chiara says, "It makes sense. But then there was this other matter where the whole group of us was attacked by some random malefactors in the marketplace... so I cannot feel entirely safe."
[vodacce] Venzi says, "yeah, since he was killed by a knife to the chest"	[interludes] Abrielle blanches.
[vodacce] Venzi says, "next let's try threatening someone with a knife to the chest and see if their kneecaps get cut off"	[interludes] Chiara raises an eyebrow. "Do you know something of that?"
[vodacce] GM says, "Try the kneecaps. That way the victim will only lose toes and you can question them later."	[interludes] Abrielle says, "I..."

Giancarlo grimaces. "Signorina. Understand my position. When I return to my prince, he will expect a full account of the entertainments. He will want to know who danced with whom, and in particular what the various members of your family did."
[vodacce] Niccolo asks, "What happes if we do the toes? Does it wrap around and give them a haircut?"

Giancarlo says, "If I told him that you spent the better part of yesterday night wandering the hall on the arm of an innkeeper, even if he were the head of his guild, my prince will want to know the full details."	[interludes] Abrielle sighs. "I was concerned about the news regarding Niccolo, and wanted to take care of the situation...directly."
	[interludes2] Amber says, "(I'm guessing there's an administrative looking individual or lackey-looking person somewhere about)."

	[interludes2] Guard asks (of Amber), "What? Don't know what post you're assigned to today?"

	[interludes] Chiara adds, with deprecating humor, "I would suggest that next time you avoid having someone attacked while they are in the company of several hired swordsmen."
Carinna asks, "Ah. So you wish information and the coin you offer in trade is the threat of slander and innuendo?"	[interludes2] Amber says (to Guard), "You know how it is, when it gets this crazy. I'll be glad when this celebration winds down."
	[interludes] Abrielle says, "I did not know he would be in such company."

[Crows-Nest] Chiara says, "always sweet-tongued and gentle, our Giancarlo"
Giancarlo says, "It would, after all, be far easier for me to simply shrug and allow the unthinkable to be thought."	[interludes] Chiara asks, "Do you think he does this only for money, then?"
	[interludes2] Guard says, "Gah, that's only made things worse."
	[interludes] Chiara says, "if it is that, and not principle of some kind, matters may be easier for us."
	[interludes2] Guard flips through some paper, then growls. "Here, check yourself, but quickly."
	[interludes] Abrielle says, "I think only money is involved."
	[interludes] Chiara nods. "That accords reasonable with what little I know of him."
	[interludes2] Amber checks the guard roster for this morning, and right now, just to look legit.
Carinna says, "What an interesting view you take of your statement. I fear I am terribly busy preparing for tonight's dance. I trust I will see you there, and I will be sure to talk to no one but my father for fear of you misconstruing the situation."

[Crows-Nest] Niccolo asks, "Is this going to turn out where everyone did it?"	[interludes] Chiara asks, "Well, I should leave you to-- actually. Do you know anything of Carinna and Sabatino?"
Carinna says, "I am sure you will do as you see fit, regardless of my actions. Ellenna will show you out."
[Crows-Nest] Niccolo says, "Carinna set the poison, Stefano placed the swords, Dixon arrange the chandelier..."	[interludes2] GM says, "Without much difficulty you find the name of the guard assigned to the section of the house near Sir Guy's room."

	[interludes] Abrielle grimaces again. "She is more indiscreet than she should be."

Giancarlo says, "Very well."	[interludes2] Niccolo looks up.
	[interludes2] Amber says, "Niccolo, the guard this morning was <insert name supplied by GM here>."
Carinna smiles sweetly. "If you would like, talk to my fiance, Stefani diTommaso. I am sure he will be intrigued by your notions."	[interludes] Chiara says, "Don't worry; I won't speak of it. I merely wondered what the situation was."
	[interludes2] GM says, "Ceri."

	[interludes] Abrielle says, "Sabatino has long been friends with Carinna. In the last few years that friendship has strengthened, perhaps beyond what is seemly. To our knowledge Stefani does not know."

Carinna says, "Your initiative is to be commended, then. I will let his answer to your suggestion stand."
	[interludes2] GM says, "You don't have the roster -- you can't take it from the duty guard permanently."

Giancarlo lowers his voice. "believe me. most ladies in your position would envy you your freedom, and i do believe that it is a degree of freedom they deserve. but society does not expect them to have it.	[interludes] Abrielle says, "If you value her life, do not let anyone else know."
Giancarlo says, "be careful. i might not be the only pair of eyes, and others might not be so charitable."
