Hello House Raix! There was some speculation about what your colony planet should be like, but nothing definite, so I went ahead and put together a planet idea (based on what baf said) on the [[Agents_Of_Empire/Planets#Vefna|planets page]]. You should check it out and decide if you like it, and if you like the resource allocation. You should also probably work out a few more characters, and start thinking about which you'll want to grab as a PC. In any case, stay tuned for more later this week!
Also, the discussion below seems to imply you guys want to go with Bad Military instead of Bad Research, so I've shifted you to that. Feel free to change it back.

House History and Colony details
So, House Raix is something that used to be powerful, and now simply commands the respect that society accords the formerly-great. To my mind, the big question is, are they happy with this state of affairs? Are they actively scheming to reclaim their status as a major house, or are they just trying to maintain the status quo in the face of a changing world?
If the latter, I suggest that the colony planet would be chosen for its qualities as a status symbol rather than for its practical resources. Like, say, it has an immense and picturesque palace on it, built by the natives and now available for Raix to use as they please. (Or, more appealingly, built by some unknown third party. Like, it's made out of stone not found on this planet but abundant on a different planet in the system, and the natives didn't have spaceflight when it was built.) This doesn't mean that the planet is devoid of resources, it just means that anything of value was unknown when the colony was assigned. I can see such a windfall as being a turning point for Raix, igniting hope of regaining their former status where there had previously been only denial that it had ever been lost.
