Turn 9 - House Aramin

Previous turn: Turn 8

House Actions

  • Shipping: The StarFar Reigspress takes whatever colonists want to go to Elvis instead of Vefna with it as it leaves for Elvis. We also request that the VefnaShip pick up the promised units of Kelp and Chemicals and then continue to Elvis.
  • Fighting: [None]
  • Exploration: We reconfigure the pumping outputs to flood L9 rather then N9 then turn it on. The Survey Squad explores M10 and N10 (each rank-1). Rick (as a rank-3 explorer) explores the newly-drained M9 (rank-1) as well as I6 (rank-2).
  • Production: We produce 2 units of Unsorted Crystals from the Donbique Rule Crystal Farm in L10. We produce 1 unit of Metals from the Alshu Cup mine in N11. We produce 2 unit of Unsorted Crystals from the Starfarer Crystal Mega-Garden And Wilderness Preserve in P12.
  • Processing: We process 2 units of Unsorted Crystals and 1 unit of Metal into 1 unit of Energy Weapons (a rank-2 refined commodity). We process 3 units of Unsorted Crystals into 1 unit of Fancy Crystals.
  • Research: Continues from last turn.
  • Building: With Dark's help, we complete construction on the Hau Ndogg Community College's astro-polo stadium (and secret underground advanced physics laboratory). On the shore of a broad, shallow stream (known as Bloos Wade) in K11, we build a rank-1 Food producer out of 1 unit of Fancy Crystals which will tend, harvest and liquify the fruits from a grove of fructiferous bushes into a pungent, spicy sauce to be known as Bloos Wade Juice. We also agree to loan the Clampet Clan 2Mc to get their mine up and running at full capacity, to be paid back in free crystal for the next eight turns (if they agree).
  • Landing: The StarFar Reigspress finally returns home, releasing the last of the colonists. The VefnaShip also arrives at Elvis, and 1 unit of Hyperidot, 1 unit of Savage Corn, 1 unit of Food (in the form of Indecent Squid), 1 unit of Kelp and 1 unit of Chemicals are moved into the warehouse.
  • Trading: We take samples of Food, Savage Corn, Kelp, Hyperidot, Ndoggahyde and Energy Weapons to produce 1 unit of Sampler Pack at a cost of 1Mc. We send Prime a formal IOU for 1Mc for their 1 unit of Chemicals, to be paid as soon as well make our next commodity sale at the Imperial Market. (We would be paying them now, but they've agreed to forebear payment so that we can lend 2Mc to the Clampet Clan.)
  • Politics: We approve or deny the hex requests from the lastest groups of homesteaders.

Character Actions

  • Jude Farlight: [from standing orders] Assists Laria with her wormhole research, and with building her new facility.
  • Rick Starfarer: Rick explores the newly-drained M9 (to see why there was equipment here specifically to drain it) as well as I6 (looking particularly for anything that might have led Iavo to select it, possibly including leftover GwyneStuff).
  • Reig: convinces Grazene that two sampler packs of 12 different things is much much better than a mere 6 dreary units of Stuff. He also contacts Nif@x about the cargo deal, and tries to figure out what the KrazyBuys/Vegas deal is, and how likely it is to happen, and whether it will affect our vote count.

Results

Aramin performs their usual producing and processing stuff. A new research institution is constructed with Laria and Dark's respective sort of help, and then the two research institutions research (Laria with Jude's help). The Clampett Clan upgrades their crystal farm after some financial negotiations (agreeing to pay back 3 rather than 4 crystals for the loan). The Vefna cargo ship drops off its goods in Aramin's warehouse.

The Starlight Survey Squad explores M10 and N10, discovering, respectively, a small monitoring station (containing a computer (in which is some encrypted data)) and a promising strand of crystal-bearing vines (a rank-1 source for crystals).

The pumping stations dry out M9 and flood L9. Rick explores M9 and I6 discovering, surprisingly, nothing of obvious interest in either.

The homesteaders explore hexes L12 and L13. One group (in L12) reports with some irritation that they have found a stand of crystallized trees: interesting, but of little financial benefit to themselves. They are assigned a new hex, M13, which they'll finish exploring on turn 12. The other group (in L13) reports locating a salvage pile containing two units of Metals but that they are having difficulty retrieving it, and request assistance from the colony.

One last homesteader arrives on the Aramin cargo ship and requests a hex allocation, is given L14, and starts work, to finish on turn 12.
