Character Actions

Elaine explores the light forests of H15.

Jathries: "Hmm, the cipher used to encrypt this data (from the cache at I16) looks familiar.... of course, I saw that in the Archives Once!" Jathries will spend this turn working to decrypt the data and find out what it is, using a fate point to invoke an aspect along with his Investigation.

Results

Another unit of food is successfully produced, the Savage Corn harvesting facility is built, and the Geoleverage Taskforce spends the turn recuperating.

The First Hrobaj Cadet Scouts come across a friendly and nomadic group of natives, who are able to enlighten you about some of the surrounding area (specifically hexes J10, I11, and I12). J10 contains nothing of interest except a stunning coastline; I11 holds "caves full of silver metal" in the middle of the forest; and I12 they warn you away from, as it is the home of a tribe they feud with, in addition to "a school from the previous overlords, destroyed by fire in the night".

Elaine thoroughly explores hex H15, and finds a number of local herbs which turn out to have delightfully patentable benefits when it comes to removing lower-eye wrinkles. This translates to a 2-megacredit gain for the colony treasury.

The Tomorrow Institute of Lobbying, Marketing and Propaganda blushingly presents the results of its research: a really quite catchy jingle, suitable to have the words of your choice set to it and guaranteed to be the talk of the Empire for at least five turns.

Jathries spends virtually the entire turn huddled over his computer running encryption simulations, but in the end a half-remembered similar algorithm enables him to crack things wide open in record time.
