Sunny has arrived.
Sunny exclaims, "Hi!"
[shadowrun] GM asks, "How do you have one, two, or three of the chips?"
[shadowrun] GM says, "s/How/So/"
[shadowrun] Emvee says, "I imagine we'd each have one."
[shadowrun] GM asks, "Sure, but is Tony with you now?"
[shadowrun] Emvee says, "Given that Gunther didn't say anything about it, probably not."
[shadowrun] Sunny says, "yeah, I think it's just us two"
[shadowrun] GM says, "okay, so you each have one"
[shadowrun] GM asks, "What are you going to try?"
[shadowrun] Emvee says, "I was thinking of looking for a BTL addict who seemed more coherent than average and striking up a deal."
[shadowrun] Sunny asks (of Emvee), "go to Redmond, find someone willing to try it out for us?"
[shadowrun] Sunny says, "'market research'"
[shadowrun] Emvee says, "Yeah."
Tusker is hanging out on the stoop of his tenement, waiting for his dealer.
[shadowrun] Emvee says, "I suppose we could still try to charge them, and just make it a discount..."
[shadowrun] Emvee says, "But I don't think it'd be worth enough nuyen to bother."
Emvee asks (of Sunny), "D'ye think 'e looks like a good one?"
Tusker says, "Aww, man, my head is killing me. I gotta get another chip today."
Sunny asks, "He looks like a fine user of BTLs. Shall we try it?"
Emvee nods.
Tusker says, "I dunno how I'll get the nuyen, tho. Maybe he'll spot me a loaner."
[shadowrun] GM says, "Yes, I am making this easy for you. Enjoy."
Sunny asks (of Tusker), "Hi! Do you have a minute?"
Tusker asks, "Who the hell are you, chummer?"
Emvee lets Sunny do most of the talking.
Tusker puts his hand on his knife.
Sunny says, "We represent a...certain unnamed BTL supplier."
Sunny exclaims, "We're doing market research!"
Tusker says, "Oh."
Tusker asks, "And what does that have to do with me?"
[shadowrun] Emvee says, "And by 'represent', we mean 'have met once'."
Tusker says, "Cause, I swear, I have no idea what you are talking about."
Sunny exclaims, "This!"
Sunny gives Tusker a brief glimpse of the BTL chip.
Tusker leans forward interestedly.
Sunny says, "We're looking for honest people on the street to try it out."
Tusker asks, "What brand is it?"
Sunny says, "There is a catch, though. You have to describe what you're experiencing while it's going on."
Tusker says, "I've tried Blue Sunshine and Warbling Threeps before. Threeps are pretty good."
Sunny says, "We can't say. It would bias our sample, which our marketing people say is no good.,"
Tusker says, "Lemme see it."
Emvee . o O ( Wow, she's good. )
Sunny says, "Hang on a second. I need to know if you'd be willing to provide our marketing data."
Tusker says, "Yeah, shit, I'll tell you anything you want to know."
Tusker says, "I could really use that."
Sunny exclaims, "Wonderful!"
Sunny says, "This'll be great."
Sunny gently hands over the chip.
Tusker takes a look, flips it over.
Tusker asks, "Hmm, doesn't look burnt yet. You guys are for real?"
Emvee flips open his sec to take notes.
Sunny asks, "Absolutely. Doesn't he look like an engineer?"
Tusker says, "Come inside. We don't want to do this out on the street."
Emvee nods. "'S a prototype."
Tusker opens the door and runs inside.
Emvee peeks carefully through the doorway before following him in.
Tusker says, "Aww, man, have I been needing this."
Sunny follows, making sure her holster is readily available.
Sunny asks, "So you're a regular user?"
Tusker sits on the floor and pulls out his dreamdeck.
Sunny says (to Emvee), "you should note that down."
Tusker says, "Man, I been hitting these since forever."
Emvee taps it in dutifully.
Tusker says, "I used to do novacoke, y'know? But this shit is better, and never a hangover."
Sunny says, "We expect these to be very popular."
Emvee says, "Make sure t' tell us ev'ryth'n. Don' leave out an' details."
[shadowrun] GM says, "boss"
[shadowrun] (from Emvee) Tusker transforms into a hideous monster. Boss battle begin!
[shadowrun] Sunny says, "if you hit the right key, we will begin outputting a fake spreadsheet"
[shadowrun] GM says, "ha ha"
Tusker puts the dreamdeck leads on his head. "Here we go."
Tusker slots the chip.
Tusker says, "Aw, man."
Tusker says, "This is...this is great."
Tusker says, "I'm...surrounded. My brothers are all around me, they're pushing in against me, we're crowded but it's awesome."
Tusker says, "We're just, all writhing together, it's like the biggest rave ever, but everyone there is my brother."
Tusker exclaims, "Oh, oh wow! She's here! I love her! She actually came!"
Sunny asks, "Who?"
Tusker says, "I can't believe it! She loves us so much, it's beautiful."
Tusker says (to Sunny), "It's.... it's my mother."
[shadowrun] Sunny says, "I should have known the ravers would use this technology first"
Tusker says, "Except, she's everyone's mother."
[shadowrun] Sunny says, "I was thrown off because the chip didn't have glowsticks attached"
Tusker says, "And we all love her and she loves us."
[shadowrun] Emvee says, "But they're inside, of course."
Tusker says, "She's telling us all to come home, she's saying that home is the best, safest place."
Tusker exclaims, "I want to go home! Mother, I'm coming home!"
Emvee asks, "What's she look like?"
Tusker says (to Emvee), "I... I can't see her, or anything, really. it's deeper than sight. Sight isn't important."
Sunny is starting to be creeped out by this.
GM says, "A small trail of smoke comes from the dreamdeck."
Sunny *really* makes sure her gun is available.
Tusker exclaims, "No! Wait! Come back! Please, all of you, come back!"
Tusker sits up and starts blinking. And then crying.
Tusker exclaims (at Sunny), "You gotta give her back to me! Please, I gotta go back!"
Tusker exclaims, "I was almost home. If I have another, I can find out where it is! I gotta go, she needs me!"
Sunny says, "I--I--"
Tusker exclaims, "Please, you gotta tell me where home is. I gotta go, now!"
[shadowrun] Sunny says, "okay, so we can either give him the second one and run like hell or be ready to potentially fend him off"
[shadowrun] GM says, "oh, yeah"
[shadowrun] Tusker rolls 3t10: 4 1 4 | 0
[shadowrun] Emvee says, "Or we can see if there's any more info he can give."
Tusker puts his head down and weeps.
[shadowrun] Emvee says, "Although I'm not sure of any good questions to ask."
Sunny asks, "What makes you so sure that the next one will get you home?"
Tusker asks, "What?"
Tusker says, "It's...she was trying to tell me."
Tusker says, "She wanted to tell me where to go."
Tusker says, "If I had another one, I'd know, I could go home."
Tusker says, "Please, I wanna go home."
Emvee asks (of Sunny), "What d'y'think?"
Sunny says, "If you're willing to continue, we have one last one we could give you."
Sunny says, "for research"
Tusker exclaims, "Give me! Please!"
Sunny nods and hands it over.
Tusker's hands fumble as he reconnects the leads, throws out the dead chip, and quickly slots the next one.
Tusker says, "Oh! Oh, yes."
Tusker exclaims, "I'm back, I'm back with my brothers. And here she is again!"
Tusker says, "She has a message, a message for all of us."
Tusker exclaims, "She's telling me how to get home, now I know how to get home again!"
Tusker exclaims, "I know what I have to do!"
Emvee says, "Tell us how."
Tusker jumps up, the leads falling off his head. He races out the door, leaving his dreamdeck on the floor.

Emvee chases him.
[shadowrun] Sunny asks, "drat, boss just came in. I've got to go. Can someone take over for me?"
[shadowrun] Sunny says, "since I'd like to follow him as well"
[shadowrun] GM says, "sure, we're almost done."
(From Emvee) Sunny chases him as well.
[shadowrun] GM says, "I'll robot you"
Tusker races down the street, takes the first corner.
[shadowrun] Sunny says, "thanks"
Emvee and Sunny follow in hot pursuit.
[shadowrun] GM says (to Emvee), "You can do all the rolls. Give me Athletics(6) or Quickness(10) to catch him."
[shadowrun] GM says, "to race after him, that is"
[shadowrun] Emvee rolls 3t10: 2 5 2 | 0
[shadowrun] Emvee asks, "Do you know Sunny's Athletics or Quickness?"
Tusker races out of sight down some alleys.
[shadowrun] GM says, "it's on lpsmith's site"
[shadowrun] GM says, "Ath 3 Quickness 6"

GM says, "You've lost him."
Emvee says, "Drat."
[shadowrun] GM says, "give me intelligence rolls for both of you"

Emvee halts in his tracks.

[shadowrun] GM says, "Okay"
[shadowrun] GM says, "Bike rolls, TN 4"
[shadowrun] Emvee says, "At which point we can possibly stop him, stunning him if needed."

Tusker keeps running.

[shadowrun] GM asks, "he resists that with what?"
[shadowrun] Emvee says, "I think Will."
[shadowrun] GM says, "(I have no rulebooks with me. didn't figure we'd actually have combat for this)"
[shadowrun] GM says, "his Will is currently 1"
[shadowrun] GM says, "oddly enough"
[shadowrun] Emvee says, "Deadly damage. I'll use my magic pool for the resistance."
[shadowrun] GM says, "okay"

Tusker jerks, and falls.

Emvee says (to Sunny), "Let's get 'im back. We can pick up some duct tape on th' way."
Emvee and Sunny bring him somewhere and tie him down with duct tape so he can't run away again, then wait for him to wake up to be interrogated.
Tusker blinks, and stirs.
Tusker exclaims, "I have to go! I have to get to her!"
Tusker starts struggling.
Emvee asks (of Tusker), "What's the message?"
Tusker exclaims, "She needs me! I have to go home!"
Tusker begins crying as he tries to break free.
Tusker exclaims, "I have to go!"
Emvee says (to Tusker), "If you want t' go home, ya gotta talk to us first."
Emvee says, "Y'can go as soon as y' tell us everyth'n' she tol' you."
Tusker exclaims, "No, no, I have to go! I can't stay!"
Tusker exclaims, "She needs me!"
Emvee asks (of Tusker), "Why? Why's she need you?"
Tusker exclaims, "I have to be home! She needs my help!"
Tusker exclaims, "She needs all of us at home!"
Emvee asks (of Tusker), "Where's home?"
Tusker exclaims, "I was going there!"
Tusker exclaims, "I need to go! It's that way!"
Tusker is staring at a point on the wall.
[shadowrun] GM says, "A point that is, again, directly towards Kolmetz's place."
Emvee asks, "What can you help her with?"
Tusker exclaims, "She needs me!"
TonyThum has arrived.
Emvee asks, "What is home? Is it a building?"
Tusker exclaims, "Please, let me go, she needs me!"
Emvee quickly gives Tony a rundown.
TonyThum says, "mm, rubdown. No, wait."
[shadowrun] Emvee says (to Tony), "We let him try two chips. He was with his 'brothers', and his 'mother' called him home."
TonyThum says, "sorry. The traffic."
[shadowrun] Emvee says, "Then he got up and tried running to Kolmetz's place."
[shadowrun] GM says (to Emvee), "He's pretty incoherent. He's not going to say much more."
[shadowrun] Emvee says, "We caught him and tied him up, and are trying to get more details form him."
Emvee sighs.
[shadowrun] GM says, "well, he is, but it'll be the exact same"
Emvee cuts him free, then follows on the bike again to watch Kolmetz's place from a ways down the street, to see what (if anything) happens when he gets there.
Tusker runs back down the streets, just as fast as ever.
Tusker gets to Kolmetz's place, runs down the stairs, and into the building.
GM says, "The door slams shut behind him."
Emvee waits a little while.
[shadowrun] GM says, "that's it"
Emvee says, "Huh."
[Crows-Nest] (from TonyThum) The building explodes.
[shadowrun] GM says, "nothing else happens"
Emvee says, "Let's go back and scavenge what 'e left behind."
Emvee says, "'E prob'ly won't be wantin' 'is stuff after this."
GM says, "You find his dreamdeck and the two ruined chips."
[shadowrun] Emvee says, "And so we clean out any valuables he left behind and unguarded and call it a day."
[shadowrun] GM says, "okay"
npc1 has disconnected.
npc1 goes home.
[shadowrun] TonyThum asks, "this was the '20 minutes'?"
[shadowrun] GM says, "I hope everyone enjoyed Creepy NPC Theater"
[shadowrun] Emvee exclaims, "Indeed!"
[shadowrun] Emvee says (to Tony), "You forgot the cardinal rule about online roleplaying."
[shadowrun] GM says (to Tony), "yeah, a bit longer than I expected. But I figured they'd just let Tusker go."
[shadowrun] Emvee says, "It always takes twice as long as you expect."
[shadowrun] TonyThum says, "oh well"
[shadowrun] TonyThum says, "I was busy getting a new job :)"
[shadowrun] GM says, "so if people want to speculate I'll laugh evilly."
GM has disconnected.
GM goes home.
TonyThum has disconnected.
TonyThum goes home.
