katre's Shadowrun campaign
Here's a list of the cast so far.
And here's schep's dice
probabilities.
- Run #1: Thurgun, Asher, and Hugo
Strange (aka Notorious H.U.G.) are assembled by Big Jim the Fixer, who
sends them off of a run to pick up some ritual materials from a Crow
Indian outside of town. That goes off OK, but the group is harassed by a
group of Crow on their way back home. Once home, they drop off the stuff
to a guy named Kolmetz. (5,000 nY each; 3 karma points each: ThAH)
- Run #2: Emvee, Sunny, and Tony are
assembled by Big J. the F, who sends them to pick up a mysterious package
on the docks. They pay a gang to leave them alone, get the package, and
take it to Kolmetz, fighting off a gang of bikers along the way. Kolmetz
continues to have a weird aura, mentions his 'domain', and gives the group
3 simsense chips (from the package) as a reward. (6,000 nY each; 3
karma points each: ToES)
- Run #3: Tony, Asher, Sunny, Emvee, and NPC
Quint are hired to waylay a cyberdeck prototype, which they manage to
accomplish without killing anyone, and selling a couple vans for profit,
as well. (7900 nY each; 4 karma each: ToASE)
- Interlude: The sad story of Tusker, a
BTL-addict.
- Run #4: All six of us finally get together
(sans Quint), and are hired to teach a gang a lesson in messing with the
wrong people. The gang seems to be connected with Kolmetz, and to have a
weird leader, but we didn't get to see him in this session.
- Run #4, the end: We manage to kill
off/incapacitate the rest of the underlings without further injury, and
then Thorn comes out and decks Thurgun but good. Tony gets Thorn, then
there's mop-up, a bit of questioning, then it turns out the company that
hired us got taken out. Hmm. (2350 nY each; 5 karma each:
ToThAESH)
- Run #4, epilogue: In which we find out
how long it takes Thurgun to heal, and Asher, Emvee, and Thurgun pay to
have someone examine Thorn's body.
- Forums: The group stocks up and
gets a
contact
from Sunny which will take us to
California. Emvee and Thurgun decide to create some
foci
for
the two of them, and get back an autopsy
report
on Thorn.
- Run #5: In which Asher, Emvee, Sunny, and
Tony (with Thurgun in the back) help escort our new NPC rigger Thaddeus to
California, taking out a helicopter and some bikers along the way. Then
Sunny talks about her Thorn Theory (500 nY each; 2 karma each:
ToAES)
- Forums: The group is given a new
assignment to extract a biothaumaturgist from Ares, along with her
data. Simultaneous runs! Woo-hoo!
- Run #6: In which Asher, Thurgun, Sunny,
our new rigger Istereth execute Operation Sick-'em, in which we give our
target food poisoning, then come in an ambulance to 'help', then escape.
The only hitch comes when we knock out the guards who were coming with us,
and their biofeedback monitors make the rest of the guards and a Bargeth
attack. But we valiantly hold 'em off. At the expense of our retrofitted
ambulance.
- Forums: The group chats with Dr.
Rohm, who gives us a Denver contact for bioware/cyberware upgrades.
- Run #6, parallel: In which Emvee and Tony
attempt to retrieve Dr. Rohm's data from a clinic in town. They get
captured and almost killed, but manage to get away in the end.
- Post-Run #6: In which Thurgun
nigh-accidentally activates the amulet that Emvee picked up, and they
speculate about what it does. (Total run #6:
14,340 nY each; 6 karma each: ToThAESI)
Also, Sunny owes each of us (including Hex) 4,285 for the
beta-memory we're saving for her. If she wants the beta-datajack too, she
owes us each 285 nY, that would have been included in the 14,340 above.
Confused yet? Call it 14,000 even free and clear; more to come when Sunny
pays us back.
- Forums: There's some mop-up
after
the run, wherein people heal, and we figure out what to do with the extra
stuff we got.
- Interlude: In which Thurgun and Emvee
find out they need a penny and a rock for their foci. (Note:
in-game, this took place pre-Run 6, in Seattle)
- Forums: Emvee tracks
down a
penny. (-1800nY, one mystic penny, and 3 karma: E only)
- Forums: Sunny gets a call
from John telling her that he's found a buyer for our info. The group
decides to head back to Seattle.
- Forums: The group gets a job
to
take something from Portland to Seattle. Easy, right?
- Run #7: In which Thurgun, Emvee, Istereth,
Sunny, and Asher (and robo-Tony) head back to Seattle, pick something up
along the way, waterski across the Columbia, then hang out just across the
border for a couple days so they can be captured by black-ops elves. In
retrospect, perhaps not the best course of action. (1,820nY each
(900nY for robo-Tony); 5 karma each: ThEISA)
- Forums: Ehran (the guy whose stuff we failed to steal) lets us go
and
asks for our help in clearing out a nest of 'Invae', aka bug spirits.
Planning and infodumps ensue.
- Run #8: In which Thurgun, Emvee, Istereth,
Sunny, Asher, and Tony take out a nest of Invae (which turn out to be
roach spirits). Creepiness ensues; Ehran is pleased. (6,667 nY
each;
extra equipment; 6 karma EISA, 7 karma ToTh)
- Forums: Asher, Emvee, and Thurgun consider making their
own
magical group based on the info Ehran just gave 'em.
- Forums: Sunny gets a call
from her friend, revealing a Web of Intrigue. Only not an actual web,
because these are ants. Do ants get stuck in webs? Maybe funnel webs, I
guess.
- Run #9, prologue: In which three of us
undertake the arduous task of initiating to greater depths
of magical understanding, while the other two take the night off and chat
with Big Jim. (2 karma, SI)
- Run #9, orientation: In which four of us
discover that two of us are missing, and get help tracking them down to a
tall building in the Barrens. Uh-oh. (1 karma, ThIAE)
- Run #9, tunnels: In which we track down
our erstwhile friends, get chased around some tunnels, get frozen in
place, but it all turns out OK. (5 karma, STo; 10 karma, IAETh.
Or, alternatively, AETh can forgo karma and call it a 'Deed'.)
- Forums: A post-campaign
wrap-up in which we attempt to answer a few unresolved questions.
- Finally, here's katre's
notes on his experience GMing the campaign.
